I have heard recently that denatured alcohol actually helps other ingredients sink into the skin deeper! We demonized it but in certain applications it's very helpful! ❤️ (But I'm sorry if that's misinformation, I just heard it recently!)

I've been using this American brand called Sun Bum their hypoallergenic, vegan, cruelty free and reef safe their free of pretty much every single bad ingredient. The best part is they have s a facial spray SPF 45 that can go over makeup and not mess it up and you can just keep spraying throughout the day. They have everything even scalp and hair sun screen.

have you tried the Cancer society kids pure spf50? it's sooo good, and works amazingly underneath makeup. still have my 400ml bottle from when i lived in NZ.
i'm excited to try the new Purito one next summer. glad to hear you approve of it. i just need to use up some of my other spfs first, and these days the sun sets at 15.30 so it's not like i'm reapplying throughout the day... gonna take me a while.

Australian standard doesn't burn eyes- sukin tinted sunscreen my absolute fave and has similar ingredients to the ultra violet except u can buy it on sale from chemist Warehouse for $12.
Next best is dermaveen and I have heard great things about natio but my fave is sukin, I mix the white one with their medium light one for a better colour match. Honourable mentions are the simple as that 30spf. I can't use anything that burns the eyes and is to greasy

I can’t recommend the sunscreens by Dr. Sam Bunting (UK) enough. The tinted version in Shade 1 is perfect for daily use and it doesn’t burn around the eye area!

Holidays is when I stock up on sunscreens for the year and I am happy to find the new options to try. I don’t trust Korean sunscreens for the labeled protection but I am planning to buy some with non FDA approved chemical filters to layer with my physical only ones from the US

I’ve been using the Esmi skin shield natural face sunscreen. It has SPF 30, is made in Australia, it’s fragrance free, preservative free, uva/uvs Broard spectrum.
    It’s not greasy at all! It’s cruelty free & vegan! It’s $45 for 50ml. 😍😍

The only sunscreen I've ever found that doesn't creep into my eyes is the Biore one. I wear other sunscreens that are fragrance free and alcohol free on the rest of my face but that one goes on my lids and orbital bone area every time. If they came out with a fragrance free option I would be rapt honestly.

Great content as always Alarna. You and I must listen to the same podcasts and/or watch the same YTers. I tried the Bondi Sands Hydra Fluid after hearing about it on the Mamma Mia "You Beauty" podcast. I loved it and immediately ordered 4 tubes from Chemist Warehouse to gift to my 3 teenage sons and niece for Xmas - great sized stocking stuffers! Very keen to try out the body one now based on your recommendation. I also have the Verdio and the Isntree, though haven't cracked in to the latter yet. Liked the Verdio fine but do find it a little too dewy under makeup so have passed it on to my husband. I have the same Ultra Violette product you tried but tbh find it a little drying. I'm using it up by mixing it with some of the Australain Cancer Council Face Day Wear Matte Moisturiser, which I ordered off the CW Australian website. Really like that, plus their Face Day Wear BB Cream Matte which I pretty much use as my foundation at the mo (currently have to wear a mask all day at work here in Auckland.) A couple of others that I have really enjoyed in the past are from the Ultrasun range, which I ordered from Space NK. Have tried and liked all of them - great under makeup etc. But a little bit $$ unless you're ordering other things to get free shipping. Still, feel like we have some really great options available here in Australasia now - roll on Summer!

What eyeshadow are you wearing here? It looks beautiful on you! Also, I was using Verdio along Canmake and Verdio for me was more dewy and heavy, took more to sink into the skin (in the summer it didn't sink at all lol) and I also couldn't use it around my eyes because it stung badly! But I actually enjoyed it too, it was good under makeup, waterproof (unlike Canmake) but a bit too heavy and dewy for my taste.

I remember Lab Muffin Beauty Science saying that in Asian countries sunscreens are used for daily wear more than in like US, Europe, Aus in those places sunscreen is more for beach days and people expect to wear them and not get burned I like to use Asian sunscreens for daily wear and under makeup but I wear American sunscreens for beach or pool days plus it’s much easier to find American water resistant sunscreens

I was super disappointed in the Purito sunscreen, it’s way too dewy for my liking. I look straight up wet wearing it. I heard it was tested by an independent European lab and a US lab, and the results were something like 54 in Europe and 70 something in the US. I can’t remember where I saw/heard that though…

Arna didn’t quite care for it, but you may like the Hada Labo UV White gel. It’s my holy grail. It doubles as a makeup primer, so anything you put over it looks fantastic and lasts all day (I used it for amusement parks and got compliments on my complexion [even though I have rosacea]!).
