I LOVE the Sun Aqua! I bought it on your recommendation and have never looked back. I can put it over my moisturizer as the true last step before make up and it sinks it immediately and I can use the proper amount without feeling like someone slathered cake batter on my skin!
I recently finally decided to try some Asian sunscreens. They are top notch. I bought 4 - canmake, beauty of joseon, isntree and biore. You're right that the canmake one has like a slight pearl. Its very flattering. I find the isntree a little matte actually or maybe it just dries down fast. The biore one is nice but it breaks me out and I can smell the alcohol in it. My favourite of the bunch is the joseon one. I think what I like abt it most is that it looks truly invisible on my skin. Some of the others leave a very slight white caste. If I wear foundation over them no big deal but sometimes in summer I don't want to wear makeup. The beauty of joseon is literally just like a nice moisturizer. My face looks completely the same with it on. Still gonna test out some of the others you mentioned when I run out tho!
I agree. Canmake was just way too wet for me. Beauty of Joseon easily is the best I've ever tried and the price point is pretty sustainable to keep repurchasing.
hi abbey! glad you included the scinic sunscreen-however, it is actually very water resistant, one of the most water resistant sunscreens as reviewed by Director Pi. I hope you check her vv detailed review and test on it.

You’re one of the top content creators on this platform. Your videos are always informative and helpful. Thanks for listing the actual UV filters; highlighting ingredients; and noting whether the sunscreens have alcohol, fragrance and/or water resistant. I love how you swatch the SPFs, and discuss the texture and what it feels like to apply. The only things missing are the amount of product you get and whether they make your eyes water, sting or burn. Never purchased Asian sunscreens before but definitely want to try some of the ones you recommended.

I know I'm late but I would love a part 2! I am 41 yrs old & I have been passionate about skincare since the age of 12. My grandmother taught me the importance of skincare at that young age before it was mainstream, talked about, as well as back when there wasn't much to choose from other than Olay/department store brands(Estee, Lancome, E.Arden etc). But spf was definitely not spoken about back then! So I've sadly learned that all the years I & money I spent with a dedicated skincare regimen was all for nothing because I didn't wear spf. I went from having perfect skin & looking half my age, to looking 10 years older in the last 2 years. It's devastating. I have dry skin and I'm on the hunt for a great Asian sunscreen. Your videos are the most informative in all aspects of spf! Thank you so much! But I would love if you could recommend some of your favorite Asian sunscreens for dry, aging skin please!!! I need to find a sunscreen that protects as well as corrects sun damage! I know you aren't my age but I feel like you could recommend based on your knowledge! I would greatly appreciate it! Again thank you for all the time you've put into this video as well as all the others! You are amazing & so beautiful!
I have been wanting to try Asian sunscreens because I have heard only good things and I'm tired of the US not using the best available sun protection technology/ingredients! I'm am definitely going to be trying some of these recommendations! I have normal-oily skin and your detailed reviews are so amazingly helpful so thank you so much! :)
This video came in absolute best time 🤩 - I was about to shop for asian sunscreens today but then I got confused and chickened out. Thank you Abbey for what you do! 👍🏻
I just realized the octinoxate which is in every single Japanese SPF is what makes my eyes water! It seems like the Korean spfs are pushing out more sunscreens that strictly use new generation filters which are less sensitizing to eyes. Just throwing it out there in case anyone has the same issues with j sunscreens making eyes water
Good to know! My eyes are so so sensitive to sunscreens to the point I almost always use a mineral sunscreen. I’ve been really wanting to try an Asian sunscreen but I haven’t seen anyone mention the eye stinging so I was wondering how the filters would affect my eyes so thank you!!! You helped me decide between the mermaid gel and the scinic
@@haileyheffron2520 I hope it works out for you! Yes it took me years of trial and error to figure that out that's it's to do with the filters for my eyes to react.
True. I CANNOT use products with old chemical filters which is why US sunscreens are not an option for me. No matter how I apply them, they eventually migrate into my eyes and buuurn.

AMEN!!! I was SO hopefully that after this extremely informative video, there is NO mention of how they work under makeup? Surely, she uses one of them under her makeup??? But which one???? 😢
Love your glow meter! Thanks for adding that info. As an oily-combo gal, I’m curious how you would rank the Nivea UV gel on the glow meter compared to the Skin Aqua sunscreen gel.
“Not all of us with oily skin want matte skin.” YEESSSS! I have oily skin and I don’t want to look greasy or sweaty, but I don’t want to be matte either! We want to be radiant too! 😂 I own and love the Isntree sunscreen (it looks like they just updated their packaging?) but I want to try some of these others. Thanks for the recommendations!
The Kose Suncut UV Perfect Gel is my holy grail sunscreen. Although I have oily skin, it tends to tighten my skin after applying. Because of that I always moisturize before hand. It took me forever to stumble upon this product and I will never not have it on hand. (Currently I have 3 on the shelf and 2 on the way. lol) Really appreciate your breakdown of the ingredients of each of these sunscreens!!!
Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun gave me the most awful skin reaction. Huge cyst on my chin and breakouts all over my forehead. I found out on day 5 after purchasing that it was the "new" sunscreen what was ruining my face. Horrible experience to my poor easily hyper-pigmented skin.
That’s my number one question with sunscreen is how they work under makeup and on top of skin care. I am a sunscreen junkie, but I’ve bought SO many that didn’t work under makeup.
Really the skin aqua. I can use it maybe one or two days after that it's too drying. Is the BOJ the beauty by Joseon? Or something else? I would love to find an Asian sunscreen that doesn't dry me or irritate my face. I have almost given up. I use pure mineral but would love the light weight feel of the Asian sunscreen especially for my neck which is even more sensitive than my face 🙄
Thank you!!! Such a perfect set up for sunscreen reviews!!! I just need someone to absolutely stuff a stocking with Asian sunscreens for me! I'd be the happiest girl ever!
I love my japanese sunscreens for everyday! Specially the skin aqua 50+ gel gold version 🙌🏽 I know that I am going to use it everyday in fall/winter seasons and when I spend most of my days inside 😁 I need to try the canmake one and beauty of joseon! The metric is super helpful! 🫶🏽 For sunny days, I only go towards my LRP UVMUNE400 50+ or P20 50+ 😁
For what it's worth, I like the Beauty of Joseon MUCH better than the Canmake. The Canmake pilled when I used the proper amount without my having any other skincare underneath to cause the issue and was way dewier/greasier looking. And I don't even have oily skin. Plus it's easier to apply makeup on top of the Beauty of Joseon.
That Make P:rem sunscreen is so underrated. I will note that it IS fragranced, but it kind of smells like a light lilac to me, which I enjoy. There are several versions from Make P:rem, however, that all look the same, so be sure you get the one you mean to get. This one, the "Daily Sun Essence," is the one I use.
I love Asian sunscreens. They are the only sunscreens that don’t irritate my rosacea. I wish they were easier to get but a couple favorites at the ishean kiss me mommy sunscreen, the skin aqua (light blue bottle), and the beauty of josen one too. US ones always burn especially the chemical ones and then the mineral ones irritate my eyes.
Asian sunscreens ftw! I have just started using the Suncut UV perfect milk (not gel) and it is perfect. I like a matte finish and this stays matte all day without drying the skin (or stinging my eyes). It also reapplies beautifully. In case anyone else is looking for a matte option 😉 I have also purchased Beauty of Joseon but will save it for winter as I'm sure it would be too hydrating and shiny for me right now.
Hi, would love to know if the beauty of joseon sunscreen has matte finish. I have been looking for a matte sunscreen and was thinking of purchasing it.
Well I couldn't wait for winter. :D I tried it on and it's really not matte, far from it actually. BUT I have found another matte asian sunscreen - the Anessa UV Perfect milk (late to the party, I know). To me it's even better than the Suncut milk.
The Canmake Mermaid is my favourite, the Isntree is a bit to dewy for me in the summer. I have the Skin Aqua as a backup and really want to try the Beauty of Joseon one.
I agree that the isntree is a bit too dewy for my liking in the summer. It is one of the first sunscreens to not burn my eyes though. I really want to try the canmake one!
Love this! I am a KBeautyaholic, & your video was on my front page as a rec. My favorite is the Thank You Farmer Sun Project Shimmer Sun Essence (Pink tube), but look forward to trying your recs (I am dry skin). I have bought the Canmake and the Isntree ones on your list for friends, but haven't used it yet personally. One that I was disappointed with, but is highly recommended by many is the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence - just too drying for me.
Great video!! I love the way you set up the information! I won't go a day without sunscreen but get so frustrated testing new ones, so I very much appreciate that you have done the testing for me!! I clicked through your link and ordered a few options. Thank you for your studeous work!! I am trying the natural finish ones.
My husband literally asks with every package I get- Is it another sunscreen? And I have to admit you have convinced me to buy so many of them! I love having options for the different vibes Im feeling. Today I did BondiSands and I love that one! I just bought the IsNtree Watery Sun Gel! Cant wait to try it!
Yes, part 2 please! I'm using Neogen Airy sunscreen at the moment, looking for alternatives with no (or little) alcohol and a natural finish. Thanks for this!
Thank you so much for such a DETAILED review of sunscreens. Seriously grateful to you. I now know which sunscreen to order, for my normal/combination skin to use underneath makeup & without major glow. You’re the best!! 💖😊
Thank you for the great presentation! I keep coming back to this for reference on ones I want to buy because it's really hard to identify these on the product pages on stylevana
Oh how I wish I could try some of these sunscreens. I have extremely sensitive dry eyes and can only use physical sunscreen on my face. I'm currently mixing Cotz Flawless Complexion spf50 with Cotz Prime and Protect spf40. That's the only way I can get my desired finish. However, I have such a hard time applying makeup over this sunscreen so I'm constantly looking for a new one. I've never heard of new generation chemical sunscreen or even Asian sunscreen. Yes, I live under a rock! Lol I'd love to know if these new generation chemicals are more gentle for the eyes. I noticed some other people comment with the same issue.
Now I want to try (almost) all of them! I’m currently using COSRX Aloe Soothing sun screen which is also really nice. It has a natural finish and smells like aloe vera.
Great Video:-) however, I think you should mention that some of the sunscreens you described as dewy become matt after 30 min - like the isntree hyaluronic watery sun gel and also the madagascar hyalu-cica. for me those get super matt (and the isntree almost drying after some time) thanks for the review though!:)
Can you update us when they deliver the products to you? I want to purchase Stylevana products a lot but I heard reviews saying it took them over months to receive their products.

i am begging for a matte untinted sunscreen PLEASE Abbey, anyone 😅❤️ I am so so oily, i need as matte/long lasting as possible, and the ability to re-apply if anyone has suggestions!!
Idk, I feel like nobody with oily skin knows how dry skin types work. In almost every sunscreen video they're like "This sunscreen is too greasy/dewy but I'm sure everyone with dry skin will love it!" Like, no. The greasy finish doesn't just absorb into your dry skin, it's still greasy an uncomfortable to wear! Yeah, I get that there is a difference between glowy and greasy, I've tried sunscreens with a glowy finish. But I personally would like to just look normal with sunscreen on, not shiny. That looks so unnatural for me and feels like I've constantly something in my face. That's why I always looked for sunscreens which were recommended for oily skin. Honestly, I kinda don't understand why so many people are obsessed with a dewy finish. Like, everybody disputes greasy drugstore sunscreens and brands were like "Let's make it a little less greasy and lable it as a glowy sunscreen so everyone is obsessed with it"
Please do a part 2! Would be great if you could make a review for Hada Labo sunscreen + moisturiser (the one in blue tub), Anessa, and Biore sunscreens.

Canmake leaves me horrible white cast and i’m a very fair Asian 😭 but thanks for this comprehensive review!! LOVE IT. Skin Aqua gold cap wins for me
god I love this channel, so detailed and comprehensive
🤍🤍🤍 thank you for watching!
Hey I got the same message about winning. What’s going on?
@@wendyraye it's not her username soo a bot or random weirdo
I have normal skin and LOVE Suncut. Been wearing it for 2 years. So sheer and light. Great reviews Abbey
I would love to see a video on the best matte finish sunscreens.
Love the glow meter! So helpful as I don’t care to look like I’ve smeared Olive oil on my face
Thanks for updating your favorite Asian sunscreen
@@haneen_0768 I haven't tried it yet but according to the reviews it's definitely not matte if you use a correct amount.
@@haneen_0768 it's fairly dewy, Def not matte
I wish there was at least one full mineral sunscreen. Chemical sunscreens make me break out so badly.
Great video!! I love the way you set up the information! I won't go a day without sunscreen but get so frustrated testing new ones, so I very much appreciate that you have done the testing for me!! I clicked through your link and ordered a few options. Thank you for your studeous work!! I am trying the natural finish ones.
Thank you for the great information!! Yes, to a part two!
Yes part 2! Your reviews are the best!!
Love the glow meter! Love this video!
Thank you so much for this! The shiny-matte scale is super handy!
Great video! Props for applying them all 😱😱
Love the glow meter idea ❤️
Yes, part 2 please! I'm using Neogen Airy sunscreen at the moment, looking for alternatives with no (or little) alcohol and a natural finish. Thanks for this!
Hey I got the same message about winning. What’s going on?
THANK YOU for such thorough reviews, so so helpful!!!
Having so many spf options can make it difficult to choose from and this video just made it so mucb easier! Thank you so much!
Thanks for the detailed information on the sunscreen….. very helpful
Part 2, 3 and so on... 😍❤️ This needs to be series.
Hey I got the same message about winning. What’s going on?
Can you do asian skincare faves that aren't sunscreen? I love your recommendations! 💖🌞🤗
Hey I got the same message about winning. What’s going on?
Picked up the Scinic and Isntree 😍 thank you!
I wish my skin could tolerate octinoxate :( Definitely gonna try one of the ones you mentioned without it though!
Thank you so much for such a DETAILED review of sunscreens. Seriously grateful to you. I now know which sunscreen to order, for my normal/combination skin to use underneath makeup & without major glow. You’re the best!! 💖😊
I love the color brown on you! ❤️
Just ordered 4 of these! So excited to try!
Can't wait to find mine!! ❤
Thank you for the great presentation! I keep coming back to this for reference on ones I want to buy because it's really hard to identify these on the product pages on stylevana
You should try Thank You Farmer - it's an spf 50 and it's amazing!!!
I'm shocked at how high the SPF is and the low price compared to Western sunscreens!!! 10000000% switching!!!!
I'd love to see a video on your fave European sunscreens
Would love a video for Asian Mineral sunscreens! 🙏
You are SO GORGEOUS that I’m literally complimenting you every two words of this video. QUEEN.
I happened to buy the instree one today! Excited to use it tomorrow
Your pronouniation of beauty of Joseon was spot on
I would love a part two. Maybe Asian mineral sunscreens. My favourite is Dr G mild sun up.
Yes please for part 2! Thanks
Now I want to try (almost) all of them! I’m currently using COSRX Aloe Soothing sun screen which is also really nice. It has a natural finish and smells like aloe vera.
Loved this video♥️ It would be great if you could also comment on how they perform under makeup😊
Damn these very detailed reviews are everything. Love it
Omggg thank you!!!!!!! Loved this video. Added a few on to my cart ❤
I always love how much effort you put into each video
Great Video:-) however, I think you should mention that some of the sunscreens you described as dewy become matt after 30 min - like the isntree hyaluronic watery sun gel and also the madagascar hyalu-cica. for me those get super matt (and the isntree almost drying after some time) thanks for the review though!:)
I just ordered both the Beauty of Joseon and Isntree watery sun gel, can’t have too much sunscreen! Always love the k/j-beauty content ❤️🥳
Can you update us when they deliver the products to you? I want to purchase Stylevana products a lot but I heard reviews saying it took them over months to receive their products.
How are you loving the products? I'm choosing one between the two
@@bluesyrupgc4224 have u purchased any products from stylevana yet cz im also trying to buy stuff from there but don’t want to wait too long for shipping
@@wydmatt7294 I ordered some stuffs on August 4th, Stylevana shipped it out on August 8th, and it is in the middle of international transit for 4 days now, and it still has to go through 3 more steps before I received the product. Ran out of sunscreen this week and had to go buy some because I ordered Beauty of Joseon’s sunscreen on the same shipment.
Thank you so much for reviewing. Have wanted to try but find the Stylevana site in particular very confusing and short on useful info.
This was the best video I’ve watched in ages. I’m about to buy 5
ooh I'm super excited for this one
i am begging for a matte untinted sunscreen PLEASE Abbey, anyone 😅❤️ I am so so oily, i need as matte/long lasting as possible, and the ability to re-apply if anyone has suggestions!!
Like, everybody disputes greasy drugstore sunscreens and brands were like "Let's make it a little less greasy and lable it as a glowy sunscreen so everyone is obsessed with it"
I've used the SkinAqua for years. Haven't found anything better. I am tempted to try the Kose Suncut gel though.
The gold essence version is newer and has much better filters. Highly recommend.
Please do a part 2! Would be great if you could make a review for Hada Labo sunscreen + moisturiser (the one in blue tub), Anessa, and Biore sunscreens.
Just bought a 4 of the beauty of Joseon sunscreen… can’t wait to try it out!
Hope you love!!
How did you like it?
