I have to say I’ve been enjoying the Innisfree daily UV defense. I feel like it’s moisturizing but works well under make up and fine if you don’t wear make up as well. We got there at 12:45pm and I wasn’t able to reapply and I did not experience any sunburn on my face at all. It was 100 degrees and sunny. We had no shelter from the sun, there was no covering. We were there until 11:30pm. I know it’s important to reapply, so I’m not advocating not to. Just saying it worked great.
Saw this video and immediately bought Verdio and it’s the ONLY sunscreen that has actually improved my skin. Even better for me than beauty of Joseon SPF. I think I have rosacea because chemical sunscreens (among other things) seem to make my skin really red throughout the day (including beauty of Joseon unfortunately though it’s still my second fav). Verdio is the only one that seems to actually soothe my skin and some of my breakouts have gone down now after using. Plus the bottle is BIG and cost effective. Definitely worth the buy.

Great video as usual. The Omi Verdio was actually updated in terms of the formula. This new one will leave a glow on the skin but its not as glowy as the previous version. I have oily skin and leave in the caribbean and love this one much more than the previous version.
I believe the reason Asian sunscreens have a tint that helps with lightening or color correcting is bc the Asian culture tells women that fairer skin looks better. That’s the beauty standard in many if not all Asian cultures. I believe it’s quite intentional that their sunscreens give a bit whitening effect.

Sunscreen question! Do you think putting powder on top of sunscreen disturbs the protective layer? Even after waiting 20 minutes and applying it gently powder soaks up grease, and since a lot of UV filters are dissolved in oil I wondered if it could be soaking them up.
Yeah I don't see how. I mean people put makeup over sunscreen all the time! Im guessing powedering them might "set" them and make them even less likely to move. I do often wonder if foundation application over sunscreen is disturbing the protection!

I’ve been trying to get Omi Verdio from Stylevana, but it’s been out of stock for a while…I actually wrote an email to Omi and asked to consider expanding their distribution😅 I got a very polite reply back from them👏

The problem lately with places like Stylevana, is that they are not in the US, so it’s difficult to get their products because of the shortage of pilots due to the vaccine mandate. I’ve been reading complaints from customers on Facebook & Stylevana website, who order & a month later are still waiting to even hear back from the company on the status of their order. I , myself, cancelled an order because anytime you contact them, all they can tell is they have NO status update on your order & thanks for your patience. So just know that when you order from them, there’s no telling WHEN you will get your products.
Rohto skin aqua uv super moisture gel still my favorite and i cannot find a better alternate to it because it is cheap per ml, water resistant, natural look. doesnt look shinny and no cast, spf50+ pa++++, best of all it wont cause acne to my acne prone skin
I use the canmake sunscreen and I love it! I save it for those days that I’ll be wearing less protective clothes/hats/gloves, since it comes in a small tube.

I'm afraid of trying anything with mineral filters in it. For some reason they just turn to powder on my face after 2 hours (and it feels like they make my face drier, regardless of what products I've layered underneath) and make my eyes sting. I've yet to try one that I like :( Anybody else have that problem?
the verdio one should work well for you. Like you I've always had the worst luck with mineral filters but this one actually leaves a very minimal flashback and no residue
Verdio pilled on me massively and then caused massive eye burning to the point my eyes swell and I could not stop the tears for several hours. I was on the plain to Palma de Majorca so obviously I could not rinse my eyes. I applied eye drops every few minutes but this did not help. Ps I have zero issues with with Laroche sunscreens and Anessa sunscreens
Oh, I love the sunscreen videos 😋 I have just ordered this week the Beauty of Joseon one actually, seems like a good option. I will definitely consider the other ones you mentioned as well! I am on the hunt for a good sunscreen that offers good protection, does not feel heavy and sticky, and ideally has a proper mat finish, which is very hard to find. On this topic, I considered using a matting powder over the sunscreens because I really don't like the stickiness some sunscreens have, but I worry that can interfere with the sunscreen... Would it be fine?
@@FedUpZebra Beauty of Joseon is amazing, my favourite. Have used several tubes since then! The mermaid was nice, but, for some reason it caused dryness and peeling on my lips. I think it is because it has zinc.
Sunplay makes my eyes feel irritated and dry (even when I don't apply it anywhere near!). Soo sad about this because it's been otherwise perfect for my oily skin.
I just bought Skin1004!! That’s good!!! I always buy from Dr Dray's recommendations. Thank you Dr Dray❤❤ you are such an amazing person🤗🙌🏻
I got the omi verdio Japanese sunscreen on your recommendation when they were in little tubes, got two. But the stuff was so shiny and made every skin flaw stand out like acne scars. I put them in a drawer and never used it again. I wonder if the new version in the pump bottle is as shiny as when they came in those tubes.
I use the Blithe sunscreen. Really like it, but have always wondered if the korean sunscreens really are as protective as they claim because they are so light.
Great video! It's amazing how many options we have now at our fingertips. (I'm in mid 20's but I'm well aware of what it was like in the 90s/early 2000s) When you can, can you review the Gold Bond Pure Moisture Body & Face Lotion? I definitely want to start getting into body products that can be used for the face, to save a ton of money.
She’s actually reviewed the Gold Bond Pure Moisture several times! It’s a great one and I like it a lot. I believe she reviewed it in the video Skin Care Empties 2022 :) ruclips.net/video/wmgd99VbLug/видео.html
@@ambitiousunicorn57 No problem! I use it at night for my nighttime routine, and apply it on damp skin out of the shower. It works best that way. And no, I didn’t find it to be sticky :)
Dr. Dray, do a video about the Heliocare 360 Pigment Solution Fluid. This sunscreen apparently protects against a wide range of wavelengths and I am interested on seeing what your opinion is.
I thought that asian sunscreens would be much better for my oily skin. But I ordered the Boiré Water Essence and the Nivea Super Water Gel and honestly the difference is not big (but indeed it looks better). The Nivea is slightly better than my holy grail Eucerin Oil Control 50+ but it has a PA+++ while Eucerin has PA++++ (although I wouldn't mind using a lower protection if only the texture difference was notably better). And the Boiré is just too shiny, didn't like it at all. So far Eucerin Oil Control is still my favorite. But if anyone has sunscreens suggestions for oily skin i'd love to hear it :)
Try Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel. Super lightweight and it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing sunscreen at all. It does have alcohol, but the smell dissipates quickly. If your skin is fine with alcohol, give that one a try. Dr Dray reviewed it in a top Japanese sunscreen video 🙂
What I am seeing is a lot of these sunscreens have some of the ingredients that I am purchasing a separate serum for, for example niacinimide in my Fragrance Free Olay Regenerist regenerating serum (which I really like because it's light and easy to apply for daytime or before bed). I think I will try a couple of your new recommendations and rotate with the sunscreen I currently use (Skin Aqua Super moisture gel) and eliminate the Olay serum....at least for daytime use. It gets to be a bit confusing with all these products we use on our face, and trying to not duplicate if possible. Makes it challenging when products are changing all the time, with newer better ones coming out. Thanks for sharing this wonderful review. It's time for me to look at this.
Yay! I'm always up for trying a new sunscreen. Especially if you recommend it. You haven't steered me wrong yet! Thanks for the reviews. Happy Tuesday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a lovely evening. ❤
Oh, just one more question :P Is it okay to mix different sunscreens? For example, first application in the day use sunscreen A, second use sunscreen B, and so on? Or is it better to just use the same to avoid interreference between the different products? Thanks :)
I would love to try an Asian sunscreen because they seem so desirable to wear! But do you find that the UV filters tend to burn and sting the eyes or not so much? I usually stick to mineral sunscreens because my eyes are very sensitive but mineral sunscreens that don’t have a cast and aren’t greasy are hard to find
Can you please do a video to address the topic of sunscreen being effective or not because when shipped from UPS or USPS or FedEx those trucks get super hot and possibly over 120°F degrees; so does that mean that the sunscreen loses it's potency 🤷🏻♀️ 🔥🥵🌡️🚛🛣️⛴️🚢🚚
Yup. I’d be tempted to use her discount codes and try some of these but with the insane heat right now I’d be worried about what condition they might arrive in.
I like that the moisturizing sunscreens are SPF 50 because many moisturizing sunscreens are SPF 30. Do you know how I would find out if Japanese and Korean companies is cruelty-free?
I used verdio for like two year, not constantly though. But whenever I’d wear it I’d get compliments on my skin. That it looks glowy, that it looks nice. I’d be like, thanks, it’s sunscreen lol
I have purchased from Stlyvana before, but I don't understand how we are able to purchase these products and have them shipped to the US when the ingredients are not FDA approved? Then the next question is "What is the FDA waiting for?" Why does the US have such limited options when it comes to sunscreen ingredients?
FDA approved does not mean legal and non harmful. It simply means the FDA studied and has given them the green light. So all of these other filters are still legal, just they can't be sold on a mass scale (domestically) with claims of sun protection. The FDA is a corrupt, lazy organization which is why we are still stuck with 1990s filters.
I didn't know Verdio has the big bottle. Thanks for the info, you know better than the Japanese(me)... Canmake is a make-up brand rather than a skincare one for me. I guess 30g or 40g sizes are too small for daily use. But maybe convenient for carrying around... By the way, I'm not a fan of two-layered type sunscreen. Shaking the bottle is troublesome and noisy, and that texture. Gel or Essence types are the best.

Welcome back!
The Canmake is my favorite
the isntree watery sun gel is the bestttt sunscreen i’ve ever used! Not heavy at all and so refreshing on the skin
I recently purchased the Canmake and love it. I wish it came in a bigger container.
Rohto skin aqua uv super moisture gel still my favorite and i cannot find a better alternate to it because it is cheap per ml, water resistant, natural look. doesnt look shinny and no cast, spf50+ pa++++, best of all it wont cause acne to my acne prone skin
Is the alcohol dehydrating your skin cause I also use it but I’m scared
@@Zander.Toledo nope and u should use moisturiser
@ZanderKun_ supposedly the same sunscreen, but as GEL not 'milk' is in the blue bottle and has no alcohol
I enjoy the Round Lab one. This summer I'm using water resistant ones Avene( face) Banana Boat (body)
CANMAKE is pretty good but does leave a slight white cast.
Thank you for providing sponsored content that feels authentic and true to your style and other non-sponsored reviews.
I use the canmake sunscreen and I love it! I save it for those days that I’ll be wearing less protective clothes/hats/gloves, since it comes in a small tube.
Is it breathable for hot sweaty weather?! I want to try it so bad. Is it water resistant?
I use both the Beautyof Joseon & the innisfree & love them both! Will be trying your other recommendations!
Beauty of joseon is fantastic. It’s so easy to put on, absorbs quickly, moisturizing and not greasy.
Is it a chemical or mineral sunscreen? Is it good for porous & oily skin?
@@Emmazz1412 it is a chemical sunscreen and it has a satin finish and is non-greasy so yes, it is ok for oily skin.
I was so excited to try it, but sadly it made my face feel really hot and irritated, tried it 3 times, and I'm done 🥲
Canmake mermaid skin sunscreen is my no.1 holy grail!
But i also tried several japanese sunscreens (coz their sunscreens are the most suitable for my skin) :
1. Isehan mommy kid : (+) no pilling, no sting, no greasy, dewy finish; (-)$$
2. Kose suncut : (+) no sting, no greasy, matte to satin finish, $ ; (-) pilling
3. Anessa tone up : (+) no pilling, no sting, brightening effext, dewy finish; (-)$$$
I’ve been on the fence for years about trying the canmake sunscreen, due to the mixed reviews, but I think I’m gonna try it thanks to this lol. Plus, it’s so affordable anyway. Also, that Sunplay! I’m definitely getting that as soon as I’m done typing lol.
I'm afraid of trying anything with mineral filters in it. For some reason they just turn to powder on my face after 2 hours (and it feels like they make my face drier, regardless of what products I've layered underneath) and make my eyes sting. I've yet to try one that I like :( Anybody else have that problem?
And they make my clothes yellow and my hair greasy 🙄
I agree! It somehow makes me grey and dry.
the verdio one should work well for you. Like you I've always had the worst luck with mineral filters but this one actually leaves a very minimal flashback and no residue
@@brodietaym8475 it is not a mineral one
@@bigfatburn6229 it contains Titanium Dioxide among other synthetic (i.e. "chemical") filters. So it's s hybrid sunscreen m
Am from India but Korean products suits my skin...i like round lab birch face wash n klairs sunscreen gonna try goodal sunscreen
The omi menturm verdio moisture gel kinda stings my eyes :')
Hope you can do more reviews on omi products!
I live in Florida and oily skin type, the Sun play clear water works great on our weather and make up go on great!
How did you end up liking the sunscreens you ordered? I'm on the hunt myself.
@@FedUpZebra Beauty of Joseon is amazing, my favourite. Have used several tubes since then! The mermaid was nice, but, for some reason it caused dryness and peeling on my lips. I think it is because it has zinc.
For a more matte finish I would recommend the haruharu wonder airyfit sunscreen.
Sunplay makes my eyes feel irritated and dry (even when I don't apply it anywhere near!). Soo sad about this because it's been otherwise perfect for my oily skin.
I just bought Skin1004!! That’s good!!! I always buy from Dr Dray's recommendations. It changes my skin.🥰🥰
- Paula's choice Bha 2%
- Hada Labo facial wash
- Azelaid acid Paula's choice
- LRP Baumé
- LRP Sunscreen
- Neutrogena gel cream
!!!! Couldn’t love you anymore!!
Thank you for reviewing these! Have a great day 😃👍 love trying Asian skincare and with that code I'm quite tempted to treat myself lol
Thanks for watching
Great video! It's amazing how many options we have now at our fingertips. (I'm in mid 20's but I'm well aware of what it was like in the 90s/early 2000s)
When you can, can you review the Gold Bond Pure Moisture Body & Face Lotion? I definitely want to start getting into body products that can be used for the face, to save a ton of money.
She’s actually reviewed the Gold Bond Pure Moisture several times! It’s a great one and I like it a lot. I believe she reviewed it in the video Skin Care Empties 2022 :)
ruclips.net/video/wmgd99VbLug/видео.html
She's reviewed it.
@@db-gb5xi Oh, she did? Where!
@@thepicklegambit Oh, thanks! I'll check that out. Something told me she would like it lol. For you, how/when do you use it? Is it sticky to you?
@@ambitiousunicorn57 No problem! I use it at night for my nighttime routine, and apply it on damp skin out of the shower. It works best that way. And no, I didn’t find it to be sticky :)
I like the Joseon under make up--not sticky at all.
happy Tuesday everyone xo
Happy Tuesday
enjoy your day !
Dr. Dray, do a video about the Heliocare 360 Pigment Solution Fluid. This sunscreen apparently protects against a wide range of wavelengths and I am interested on seeing what your opinion is.
My favorite topic as well! I'm really interested in trying out the Verdio
I love the rhoto sunplay! I wish it wasn’t so expensive:(
thank you for the code ❤️ i’ve got 3 sunscreens on the way!!
Are there any negative side effects to wearing chemical sunscreens everyday?
Have you tried watching Kassandra Bankson? She has the same skin type! A valuable resource 😊
Canmake and verdio is the only sunscreen I use. Thanks dr dray for all the good sunscreen advice and options. ❤
Ahhh! Is it breathable for hot sweaty weather?! I want to try it so bad. Is it water resistant?
It's time for me to look at this.
love verdio!
How you liking it?
Love love the Canmake
Thanks :)
Dr Dray, when is the melacear review coming? Happy Tuesday. 😊
Is that even available in the U.S.?
@@db-gb5xi by isdin? Yes. It is.
@@702kimberlee I think I've seen this mentioned by another derm, Dr Heather D. Rogers.
Are any of these rosacea friendly? Mineral ss doesn't agree w/my skin. Thanks!! ☺️
Great run-down. I noticed most of them don't have Avobenzone - yay! Thank you!
I cant leave without the canmake sunscreen ♥️
next time i get a sunscreen i'll use your code thanks dr dray, i want to try the madagascar one!
Same question with all face products really but most importantly with sunblock..
Yup. I’d be tempted to use her discount codes and try some of these but with the insane heat right now I’d be worried about what condition they might arrive in.
Can you please review the vanicream sunscreen if you haven’t yet
I'm sensitive to niacinamide so finding skincare is such a pain. Any niacinamide free sunscreen and moisturizer reccomendations?
Honestly I really want to try the isintree hyaluronic acid sunscreen 😩
YAY! Finally able to watch your video as you post it and it's a GOOD ONE. Thank you for the daily, amazing content Dr Dray 💜💜
Thanks for watching
omg hiii 😍😍 I'm excited to try some of these sunscreens :)
You said PA system has its limitations, Can you explain that a little more? Or may be make a dedicated video on that 😍
I like that the moisturizing sunscreens are SPF 50 because many moisturizing sunscreens are SPF 30. Do you know how I would find out if Japanese and Korean companies is cruelty-free?
The Verdio and Sunplay have my attention.
I used verdio for like two year, not constantly though. But whenever I’d wear it I’d get compliments on my skin. That it looks glowy, that it looks nice. I’d be like, thanks, it’s sunscreen lol
not you uploading this one day after I placed my yesstyle order 😭 I’ve just stocked up on Korean spfs. thanks for the video!
Happy Tuesday, Dr. Dray🤍🌸☀️😊
Happy Tuesday
Greetings Maricel Gundayao hope u r well n Happy Tuesday😀👍💜….
I'm loving beauty of joseon sunscreen it doesnt make my skin greasy or shiny and it absorbs quickly once applied to my face.
