Hey Mike.. just an fyi, the shears you bought ( in the sheet metal trade ) are called unishears.. the other shears you were talking about are called double cuts.. the nice thing about double cuts is they keep your work from getting curled.. the bad thing is you lose material (obviously) and are not ideal for relief cuts or radius cuts.. that's where the unishears shine.. but then you have to straighten out your work (unless it's a cutoff, obviously) on the curl side of the shear.. one other thing, you have a 10 ga capable unishears, if you close the gap (slightly) between the cutting blades, it won't leave a huge burr on the cut edge of aluminum & lighter guage sheet metals, but then you will have to readjust the blades (open) to cut heavy guage metal again..
The success of this channel, as well as Mike himself, is due mainly by how genuinely humble and grounded he is. I’m sooo glade that I happened across the race between Blasphemi and ole Cleeter’s Leroy. I subscribed that instant!
I love watching this channel cause Finnegan is such a high level builder who shows his mistakes….. but the most relatable one was on roadkill, the rotsun turbo kit! I was watching that going “man I wish I could fabricate like that!” Then seeing his whole face sink realizing he had forgotten to place the flange at the end of the pipe! I was like hey at least he’s human! I can learn! Gave me confidence to tackle new projects!

Dude, this video was like watching paint dry, but I was compelled to watch it all the way through, if only to see the new tools and clips in action. Awesome stuff.
Growing up in a machine shop my father used dial soap to lube the saw blade. He also had a second shop that only did sheetmetal work . Beside the smell knocking down the smell of coolant the blades we made lasted twice as long using this process.
I've enjoyed watching this channel. I used to watch Roadkill back when they only had episodes on RUclips! It's always a good day to see a new episode of Roadkill or Faster with Finnigan on Motortrend!
Have you used xs power batteries before? They have lithium lto cells now with saves weight and more powerful. My 01 Subaru legacy wagon called the Bassaru runs exclusively on lithium lto cells. I'd love to meet and show it to you one day. I've been watching since the first episode of roadkill and been hooked ever since. Love your content and love seeing how you transform each of your vehicles. Im in Indiana about 50 minutes from Indy or 45 from IRP which I used to live right next to. Growing up next to irl was awesome seeing all the cars then feeling my house shake from the pure awesomness.
Thank-you for uploading and continuing to give updates! I know it’s a race car but to minimize the rattle from riveting use some double sided foam tape between the panels. First you stick the panel in place and when you rivet them together the crush makes a good seal. Just food for thought. Either way love the content!!!! Thanks from Nuttz and Boltz garage
Installing floors, especially around a cage and whatever else is in the way takes more time and thought than some people know if you want it to look good when you're finished. If not use license plates.
GREAT VIDEO MIKE!!! GREAT FABRICATION SKILLS ON YOUR FIREBIRD!!! THANKS FOR THE EDUCATION. I LEARNED SO MUCH!!!! SHE CAME OUT GREAT!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
Awesome seeing The Rubber Duck Firebird getting some work done again Finnegan hadn't seen that car in a year one my top four favorite rides from ur collection.
After you Panel Bond the edges to seal out fumes,or you can use 'Dyna-Mat' to insulate the sounds too, double sided tape will hold the carpets so they don't flap.
Just saw an episode where it ran a 9.06 at 145, running so rich it was making black smoke like a diesel off the line, then leaning out bad on top from a weak fuel pump. It will get into the 8's easily now.
For those round edge cuts you can save a lot of time by using a slug buster. It cuts the round hole clean then you can cut up the sides and you have a slick bar slot. Most dimple die kits come with a slug buster to make the original hole before you dimple it.
Mike......from a 20 year veteran of sheet metal fab.....may I suggest midwest offset snips. Buy them learn them and you will never struggle to cut a radius again! You can but a solid hole from a 1/4 inch drill starter hole any size up from there! Using those snips I have in the past cut 3/4 inch holes cleanly.
Good morning Mike, an electric nibbler for those radius pie cuts you were making will make your fab'ing much easier and better looking to boot. Nice CAD work also... cereal boxes provide a nice touch and add some color. good luck making 8's.

You might want to buy some of that stick tape that's used on AC ducking and tape over ALL of the seams where your tin work attaches to the floor of the car. That will keep the tire smoke out of the inside of your car. I seam some cars fill up with tire smoke They are not going wait a long time, if you can' t. On the tight areas that spray foam insulation should work. Nice tin work, Good luck at the track
I have been using a pneumatic rivet gun from Harbor freight for years and it is still working great. I was hoping it would live through the initial project which took 700 rivets and it's still going.
