I jumped from a 2019 MT-09 to the 2021 701 SM... and it's plenty fast, very stable even at 120mph. The stock suspension and tires are excellent. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the switch, I feel zero urge for more power even at the track. My national champ superbike instructor took it for a spin and he was highly impressed by the handling. Not seeing myself buying a heavier bike again.
Have you had any issues come up with the 701? Ex. oil leaks, master cylinder, clutch problems, etc.? Any issues? I ask because i was thinking about getting the 701 supermoto next year and i don't want to waste my money.
I agree.. it’ll be hard for me to go back to a regular superbike now. Of course superbikes are awesome for high speed, the mt09 is also better than the 701 for that. But that’s about it.. I find the 701 better for literally every other scenario. Hands down my favorite bike I’ve owned so far. The handling is shocking.
I’m a old motocrosser and I have a FJ09 that can get scary at high speeds and low speed…… I’m buying a SuperMoto within the next two months. Thank you!!!!!!!!
I'm looking at two bikes new mt09 and this 701. I'm looking for passenger info for the 701. Bikes I've owned are cbr600s, zx14r. And it's been since 2017 I've riden . I took my brother's xt250 out and riding that small thing to the max was a joy. Come from a motocross background, and riding a dirt bike on the road has a more bad boy feel vs doing 180mph on the last bike the zx14r.
I went from 2019 701 to 2018 MT09, now I’m on a 2022 690 and going back to MT09 because I’m doing a lot more high mileage trips. The 690 sits comfortably at 110mph but after doing that for 30+ miles at a time it gets uncomfortable
Ive moved from an Africa Twin to a 701 Enduro, same kinda move but for the off-road. Way cheaper to maintain and upgrade. There's something so playful about the 701/690 platform. You will see a lot of people complain about reliability but that depends on a lot of factors. Take care of the bike and it will take care of you. Enjoy
That’s awesome, those are both really cool bikes. I agree the 701 is a very light and playful platform compared to usual adv and Supersport bikes. (The only thing that beats it in either class are true dirt bikes/supermotos). I’m definitely interested to see how the reliability goes with this bike, especially because they apparently fixed the clutch slave cylinder issue so I’m running mine stock. Ride safe and have fun 🤟
@@You-Toober I put 17,000 Kilometres so far and I’ve changed the oils and filters every 5,000. I had the valves checked at 10,000 and they were still in spec. The only thing I encountered that’s finicky is the master brake reservoir tends to weep if you don’t tighten the right amount. I do have the Wings Exhaust and the Rottweiler Fuel Dongle, those are the only engine mods I’ve made
I went from enduro to sport touring to supersport to supermoto. I bought a 690 SMC R this summer and ive been riding it every day to work for the last 3 months
@@SteveZ919 Great commuter, great trackbike. it has 13.5K kms now i bought an arrow exhaust, Rottweiler intake, PC6 with a custom table. running at 86 whp. did 6 trackdays and 2 more this week. i did have to go back to fix a radiator issue, it had a crack at the upper bracket. and i had to go back to fix a cam chain tensioner issue. multiple people report this issue, i had it fixed under warrenty. the quickshifter has issues too but you can get this solved by getting an ecu update
I have zero regrets owning the 701 Supermoto too. It's such a fun and playful bike, the best all-rounder imo. My biggest concern is how long I will keep my licence for 😅. Bikes I've owned: MT09, MT07, DRZ400SM, WR450, Z125, 675 Street Triple & ZX6R
I totally agree! It’s hard to NOT lift that front wheel or slam the front brake coming to a stop hahaha! That’s a badass list of bikes also! The wr450 would be a nice sumo conversion just a little more maintenance
@MrNaxen I just took my bike in for a service yesterday (with 32,000km), and the mechanic advised that everything is spot on engine-wise. I have never rebuilt my engine, so I can't tell you how much it would cost. I have previously owned a DRZ400. The husky for my has been just as reliable but probably 3 times more fun.
Your 701 is a great choice! After upgrading your air intake, exhaust, and ECU, the power will truly blow you away! I used to only ride sport bikes while living in Southern CA, but after moving to a remote area of CO, I prefer off-road adventures, and only ride on the street to get to my favorite trails. I recently purchased a 2023 KTM 350 EXC-F and upgraded exhaust, airbox, and the ECU, now it performs like my 500 EXC used to. I think we all go through the sports bike phase, but the risks of speeding tickets, getting killed from riding too fast with others is too high. You mentioned the initial cost of a high-end sport bike, plus expensive upgrades, maintenance, and uncomfortable riding position, so you made a great choice! Enjoy this awesome new bike and share videos of all your upgrades!
I really appreciate it! I have another build series video coming out soon and am going to get back into my regular postings. I’m still loving this bike. I’m saving power mods for last still and know I’ll be blown away by them, the bike is already great in stock form but obviously missing some snap and throttle response. I’m actually interest in purchasing a ktm 350 exc-f or a yz250f eventually as well! Id like to venture more into off-road riding. I’m so happy being able to feasibly afford doing tons of mods on this bike without feeling guilty, I’m the type of person who makes BIG purchases such as new bikes, cars, watches but generally refuse to make small purchases in order to reach those goals. Owning a bike such as the Panigale V2 I couldn’t justify paying the insane price for mods over just simply saving for another bike. The issue with that is I love working on my bikes and it makes me feel a lot more connected to them so I really wanted a bike I can constantly be working on, yet is reliable. This 701 is my favorite bike I’ve ever owned. 👍
@@JonesBrosGarage I completely understand our addiction to owning the best of the best! There was a time to buy and ride expensive sport bikes, but thankfully those days are over forever. Sitting upright and being comfortable is a true sign of intelligence and wisdom!
Absolutely bang on. I had a Gixxer 750, loved it, but it wasn’t comfortable below 130k because of the ergonomics. I traded it for a KTM 530 XCRW. Around town the dirt bike is a scalpel, super flickable, weighs less than 250 lbs, and will still do 100 miles an hr with dirtbike gearing. I bought an Indian FTR 1200, which is basically a dirtbike on steroids :) this guy is 100% correct. I miss my sport bike sometimes, but love my KTM all of the time. The Indian so far has been incredible too.
I just bought a ktm smc 690r after years of amazing naked bikes and sports bikes. When I compare it to my Tuono v4r, Ducati s4r, Mille 1000r, cbr1000rr, triumph speed triple S I can honest say this bike is the most fun I have ever had riding. I fit into the class of rider you mentioned that evolve to a super moto and I am so happy I made the move. I can say that every bar your personal opinion for track sits true for me also. I am experienced track rider, so on a fast track I would prefer a sports bike to go fast, but to have fun I would still choose the ktm. To that point I have been on track with Wayne Gardiner and Kevin Magee here in Australia ( both ex 500cc gp riders) and Kevin rides a super moto as his preferred track bike. FYI Magee was 500cc world championship runner up
Popped my supermoto cherry on an SMC 640 R last weekend. This is spot on. I was giggling like a little kid the whole time. This is also a type of bike I’ve never own and the one I’d like track and light off road with. Thank you. This encouraged me to move forward with a supermoto.
That’s awesome! So far the bike feels pretty solid. Runs great and is an absolute blast. Of course I’m still under 600 miles on the clock, but I’ve experienced many new bikes and have a pretty good feel for them. I have a feeling this thing will be a tank 👍
@ 7:04 - The Yamaha wr250r was a good bike. If Yamaha had made a wr400r or wr600r and was reliable, had great performance and low maintenance, i would most likely have that bike for life.
Ive just had my euro5 remapped last week with my exhaust on and air filter and gave it a good few more horsepower across the full rev range. Especially low down where its needed. Love it!
@@JonesBrosGarage my friend with a euro5 UK bike had trouble with the power commander so he’s put a 260bhp GSXR 1000 turbo engine in it!!! 😂 i had a flash tune. Rolling road remap
I had the same progression and reasons, eventually arriving at the KTM 690smc. It was amazing until I took it to the supermoto track. I quickly transitioned to a real 450cc race bike and superminis. That's when my skills and speed truly improved.
I've been riding a 450cc dirtbike since I was around 17, been riding in general since 11 or so. I dreamed of a CBR1000rr for years. I finally got the chance to test one out. A literal rocketship to say the least. But didn't fall in love 2010 low miles clean spec. Just couldn't do it, no fear just no love. I test drove a more beat up Yamaha WR450 Supermoto with Michelin semi slicks. I had never felt more of a connection in terms of feel cornering and grip that I've never felt in any machine ever. It is nimble in ways you couldn't imagine.. power is there in the street as long as no highway runs. But the slingshot torque 450s have on the road combined with extreme flickability is something that has to be felt to understand.
sumo is the most fun one can have on a motorcycle. i have five bike including ktm 1290 super duke and bmw r1200gs. i ride the ktm 690 sumo almost everyday and it's my favorite bike. only problem is sumo makes me do stupid things -riding up/down stairs, jumping curbs, riding on side walks, jumping railroad tracks, jumping loading docks. so much fun. and traffic? what traffic? slices through traffic.
I absolutely LOVE this trend of guys downsizing and going with sumos. Supersports are amazing. But if you can’t ride the track often, I just don’t get it. They aren’t comfy commuting. They don’t get great gas mileage. They are great for racing. And if you street race, have fun. But for the majority of riders, a supermoto is plenty fast as we need. It goes off road. It jumps. It is an absolute blast in the city. The more riders that buy supermotos, should get more manufacturers making them. I have an FZ-07. I borrow my friends WR250 all the time. I would sell my FZ in a heartbeat for a Husqvarna 701 if I could find one where I’m at.
Yup I totally agree. This bike is so much more fun on the street. Honestly even for amateur track riders a 600/1000 still doesn’t make sense. As a weekend warrior track rider you aren’t going to be progressing as fast on a r1 as you would on an r3 most likely. Superbikes look awesome and are a blast for high speed highway pulls.. but anything else this is where it’s at. My wife has an mt07 and I feel like people who ride the mt07/mt09 are in a pretty similar mentality to sumo riders. The MTs are probably a little better for highway and commuting but still have that lightweight playful feel for a street bike. 65-85 horsepower on a bike sub 430lbs is the sweet spot for street riding in my opinion, and I’ve pretty much owned or ridden it all. 👍 And you’re right, we need more sumos. The klx300sm looks pretty good. Would like to see a new wr, maybe a wr350/450r geared towards sumo. A new drz with fuel injection. And we could even use some high strung race bikes like the 450smcr for street market, if people don’t ride as often and can handle the maintenance.
Man, I haven’t been to your channel in a few years now, since you first got your Ducati. Channel has really grown. I’m actually considering one of these Husky’s now… that or getting street tires for my 2023 TE150
You made very accurate points, I'm thinking about switching to a supermoto for the same exact reasons. I've got a ninja 636 2019 which I love, and I went to the track a few times this year, but it relly is very expensive. Also for what it's capable of doing this bike it's a waste to use it on the street... I'm really tempted by the 701
The 636 is my absolute favorite 600. I was between the 636 or the Daytona 675 when the v2 came out. I loved the 959 but it didn’t have the single sided swing arm. That pushed me over the edge to get the Panigale V2 instead of the 636/Daytona. With all of that said this bike is WAY better on the road. Id say I can use probably 65-70% of this bikes potential on the road instead of the 30% I was capable of on a supersport. That’s the tip of the iceberg though. Low speeds, traffic, just cruising around. Night and day, this bike blows a supersport out of the water. The ease of being able to wheelie and brake super hard to a stop under 40mph make this bike so much more fun while staying closer to the speed limit. I sometimes miss the highway pulls and seeing the Ducati in the garage and that’s about it. I find the 701 to be beautiful so it doesn’t bother me too badly. This bike also will excel at the track I’m super sure of that. If you want a better street experience and occasional track day, but can handle giving up long highway rides and pulls… it’s a no brainer. 👍
Hi. I totally agree with you, I have done the same. changed Panigale v2 to supermotard. price loss on panigale is big, cheaper to owning a supermotoard and it more fun. keep up the good videos. Many greetings from Norway.
As a general rule, I’ve always hated urban riding. I live in Houston The 701SM was the only bike that made it tolerable. Tight twisties and track days were no problem. My insurance was super cheap. I had a couple of hard drops of my 701, at a full stop and loose my balance, because I’m short and could only get 1 toe down or hop off on side, at any rate, I dropped the 701, had no damage or issue picking it up. Only had 2 issues, 1. It’s too tall for me. 2. Riding on the highway in Texas. Sold the 701 and bought an 890R Duke. I can’t hop curbs and ride off-road on the Duke but it’s fun and works for me.
I feel like I’m skipping the sport bike phase. I started on an Indian scout rogue thinking I was gonna love cruisers and it’s why I got a bike license to begin with but after a year of ownership I found myself hitting corners harder and more frequently while hating long boring straight rides. I went to a stunt show and watched the riders having an absolute blast and I wanted some of that action, looked at various naked bikes and discovered supermotos and this definitely fits my personality a lot more than my scout ended up doing to me. But supermoto is a completely different world and it’s gonna take time to learn and figure out what I want to buy
The current Ducati Hypermotard is really too heavy (and expensive) for a supermoto. It's quite exciting that Ducati are working on a new single cylinder Hypermotard. It will be a similar capacity as this Husqvarna.
Nice. I'd love to try this bike. I have a Hypermotard 950 SP. I love it, and the motor is so amazing. It's great for my local paved mountain trails(Oregon). They're narrow, tight, twisty, paved tracks in the forest. Your bike is pretty much the very best bike for pmt's.
Purchased 701 in 2017 as a first bike. Sold her after 4 years. Now moved to another country I'm super sad that I don't have her here. Friend of mine gave me his sportsbike to take care of. But it's absolutely not my story. Will try to get new 701 asap cuz simply can't think of a better all-round bike for my wants)
I’m the same exact way. I need to keep mine unless I get another supermoto to build, I can’t imagine losing this bike. I’ve never been that way with a bike. The only other bike I’ve ever missed much was my ninja 650
I've been riding my entire life (grew up in dirt, street since '87) and I've ridden/owned all sorts of bikes. The 701, is by far, the most fun I've had on 2 wheels since I was 12yrs old. It re-ignited my passion for motorcycling. Is it perfect? No. But, it's perfect for me! I am on my 2nd 701. First one I sold had 40k miles on it. My buddy is still riding that one! And as you were talking about - the wheelies. I've wheelied every single motorcycle I've swung a leg over, and the 701 is by far, the easiest motorcycle to wheelie I've ever ridden. :)
You're not wrong, sir! I love my '20 690 SMC R. Don't know what exhaust you were looking at but, the Wings tucks up very nice and very high quality. Good vid!
I was thinking of arrow or Leo but I’ve been hearing soooo many people recommend wings. What did you do for tuning? I might go for the wings. Also like the look of the custom fit fmf 4.1s if you’ve seen people do those
@@JonesBrosGarage I like Wings because it tucks up tighter in the side panel. The others seem to hang kinda low. Wings claims that they are plug-n-play. These bikes are stall prone from the factory. I run my setup like this....Wings with the loud DB killer (no db killer made my bike more flame out prone). Dani Perfirmance adjustable Lambda Modulator (+2.5%, 5, 7 you can select. Still uses the 0²sensor). I'm happy.
You will end up loving this bike like no other you had before, after 13 years of riding my 701 puts the biggest smile on my face after 8+ bikes before that.
Yeah honestly, it’s chalking up to be my favorite bike I’ve ever owned so far. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to sell this bike unless I end up with a different supermoto in the garage lol
@@JonesBrosGarage my only mistake was to wait for so long to get a supermoto lol, this bike is a track day weapon, just put both the front and rear on sport mode (10 clicks) you should find the exact procedure on the manual u can find for free on the main husky site.
@@NFL2337 I agree. I should’ve had this bike sooner. It’s an absolute blast. Have you ran those setting on the street at all? I’m used to supersport bikes and would prefer a sportier ride over comfort. It’s amazing how it is now but if I can make it handle even better, that’s amazing.
@@JonesBrosGarage Yes I do run the bike on that sport setting all the time now, I'm too lazy to change it every time, I like it as it is with the sport setting on (massive improvement) btw I donno if yours is euro 5 in US but here it is (UK), I would suggest the following first mods : wings exhaust (way cheaper than any brand out there, full titanium with carbon tip, the fella that makes them used to work for akrapovic factory), fuel dongle if its euro 5 as the bike runs with too much air, 15 front tooth sprocket, oberon clutch cilinder (they had problems with it failing in the past) , and think for the future DNA stage 2 air filter intake and air box (crucial before you put the air filter on to reflash the ecu to make it run with more fuel). After all of this the bike will be completely different in the best way possible. Seen the other video of yours with things you hate.. seat is absolutely shit and everyone knows it lol, this is the first SM ever to have a quickshifter from factory so yea its not the best, and fuel indicator.... well reset your trip meter and usualy it does 120 miles with a tank.
@@NFL2337 that’s awesome! I appreciate all of that! Mine is a US model but is still extremely suppressed by emissions. I have the dongle and plan on adding the wings and pcv. Still unsure if I’m doing to ecu flash or just run the pcv. I also will be changing my gearing. 👍 Apparently they fixed the clutch slave cylinder so for the sake of RUclips I’m leaving it stock and seeing if it survives, I have the Oberon in my cart if it doesn’t and would make sure to let everyone know. Also good point on the quick shifter, it’s not the end of the world but would be awesome if it worked better. I also may be adding a healtech quick shifter because my friends rc390 I reviewed has one and it was awesome.
Congrats for your new bike. You made a good analysis about it 👏👏👏 I agree you at all. The mine is a Svartpilen 401, but my feelings seems as yours. Husqvarna is a great and unknown company full of surprises. ✌️
@@Arnechos yes it’s an amazing bike. Feels really similar to a proper 450 race supermoto. Heavier but also more power, it kind of balances out. But you have way less maintenance and can ride for hours on end! 👍
@@JonesBrosGarage I loaded it with gps device but still once its gone its alot of work to get it back and thats even if you can get it back speaking from experience here my ktm 690 sleeps in my kitchen for that reason lol
Really wish I had discovered your channel sooner. I find I have a lot of things in common with you as a motorcycle rider. Not very skilled or experienced, and short too. Appreciate your honest, humble and transparent approach to talking about your skill level. Looking forward to seeing your progress as a rider. :)
My experience with SM bikes is that they are very agile and fun to ride on tight roads and everyday commute in the city, but on the highway it's a different story. I sold my KTM Duke 640 cause of this. Too much wind and vibrations etc. Another comfort issue is the seat, it's not made for longer trips. But if I didn't have much mileage on highways a SM bike is definitely a very valid option for all reasons mentioned in the video.
first off cool bike thinking of getting one myself . I don't quite understand the comparisons though, really apples to oranges. Forgive my lack of enthusiasm as I don't trust youtubers. Maybe a hypermotard would of been you're Ducati. Everything RUclipsrs get is the best thing they have gotten as I'm pretty sure you were excited about your V2. I'm just discovering supermotos and they look super fun so I hope you great time with yours. Peace!
I put 30k on a supermoto. I learned alot about riding. went over the handle bars twice learning to do stoppies I dropped it wheelied it jumped it drifted it Straight dirt biked it. rode it on the high way rung out. Even got a fat chick on there one time..Fun factor Certified 10 out of 10. When I have fun on a SS Im doing well past tripple digits, If I wreck at that speed I get splattered. SuperMoto you can work on skillsets challange yourself as a rider and just get skinned up in a parking lot. It will make you a MUCH better over all rider and help your composure when things get sketchy and keep you from going in to panic mode.
I just love the speed of my s1000rr, I love that I can evade if need be, can't do that on a supermoto, highways absolutely suck on a supermoto, twistes both are just as fun to me, city rides I'll give to supermoto cause of jumps and stuff.
How ironic, watching your channel helped me decide to buy the V2 which I am taking delivery this month. But agree supermotos are heaps more fun. I would have gone for KTM 690 SMC R over the husky although they are quite similar. Comming from a supermoto background they are a great option especially for newer riders if you can get over the ride height.
That’s so crazy! I always wanted a 701 and really wanted to practice wheelies and get into track so this bike made more sense for me. All I found myself using the V2 for was highway pulls and looking beautiful. I still to this day and always will tell you that the V2 is a better bike than the V4. But because of the reasons I just stated I’ll likely end up getting a V4sp to try out eventually. It wasn’t that the V2 wasn’t a good bike, I still believe it’s one of the best supersports in production. The issue was that I wanted a break from owning a supersport.
@@JonesBrosGarage I hear you. The V2 is plenty powerful for the road and I am realistic on my abilities so think it will be more than enough for me. I do like like the look of the V4 and if you put it in low power mode it restricts it to 155bhp which is as much as the V2. That’s just crazy. Enjoy the 701, I had a yamaha DT125R 2 stroke and I got an extra set of wheels with supermotor tyres and if you are OK to swap them yourself you get two bikes in one. One for off road trails and one for the road/ track. Keep up the videos.
@@ianjayasinghe5042 thank you! And yeah I think I’ll eventually do that. This thing would be a bit of a handful at my usual single track so I’d have to find a more open area to let her open. The v2 is way better for the road. Better power band, less heat, lighter. That’s why I prefer the V2. Also it’s a twin powered Panigale, as they should be. I just want the V4 for bragging rights basically seeing as I have other bikes for those situations.
Great points. I’m currently considering buying a 701 but the only thing stopping me is that my wife enjoys riding pillion occasionally and not sure it’s suitable-have you tried two up? My backup option is the Duke 790/890R but prefer the 701..
I have a ktm 690 enduro that i setup for sm and to have a passenger you'd need to change the spring on the rear shock atleast. maybe more. I had my girlfriend on the back once and it was not enjoyable. id go alot bigger for a bike that would be fun for a passenger to ride on. the ktm 1290 maybe. I used to have a moto guzzi norge 1200 and that handled a passenger well and was really comfortable to ride. Not as agile as a supermoto but for a passenger i have yet to find a bike that could match it. Its surprising how much different as passenger makes.
I love your 701! I just looked at this bike last week! I’m only 5’8 and small. I didn’t like that I couldn’t flat foot it. I know I could have lowered suspension etc. but I looked over and saw a Streetfighter V2. I sat on it and I was sold! Maybe I’ll have a SuperMoto someday, but I really love the Streetfighter. I love the colors of your 701! Congrats! Good decision! Soo much fun!! 😊🌟🔥🤟🏼🎉
A tips mate, Most of us aren't able to reach both feet to the ground, but that's a real noobie mistake to think that it matters because it really doesn't. Once your comfortable riding any bike you will never think of that again I promise.
@@SpawnOfSweden took the words out of my mouth there. I'm 5'8" and have a 701 that I get the ball of one foot down and that's it and I don't think twice about it then when I get on my naked bike that I can get one foot down flat it ends up feeling weird to me haha
Agree with everything I have a few sports bikes and these days always pull my 690 SMCR out of the garage its the most exciting bike i have ridden in years and you have fun without doing 200mph
i got a ducati v4s and bought this bike earlier this year . i can tell you after many tracksessions and hooning the living daylights out of it , im still on my first set of tires , brake pads and chain . this wouldve costed me over 1000 euros more if i did that on the ducati . o and i overtook several friends on sportsbikes on track with it , its amazing to ride this bike . what i find cringe is everybody buying this , then mounting simple aftersales upgrades while wearing gloves (lolol) and calling it 'a build '
I went from 690 Enduro to MT09, the upright seat position is almost the same but the 690 seat was hard as fuck and driving for 6hours straight was awful thus i wanted something a bit more sport toury but didnt wanted to give up on the seating upright position of supermoto and the most comfort in that i found in the mt09
Great video, I’ve watched quite a few of yours and I have been really enjoying them, just about to pick up a 23 KTM 690 SMC-R But was trying to hold out for a 2024 hoping they would add the TFT. What are your thoughts? Thanks
Hey, thank you! I have more videos coming out for this years riding season. I’m working on editing my build series part 2 for this bike.. which leads me to the point I wanted to cover.. I added a cumpan cockpit assistant to this bike and it’s fixed all of the things I disliked about the lack of instrumentation. Honestly I’d probably take it over a tft, it’s lighter and extremely easy to read and effective. With that said I can only see emissions gripping this platform tighter and tighter until it’s dead.. id personally just pick one up now honestly, or whenever it’s smart financially for you
Just prefer the Husqvarna colors mainly. For this model year they’re identical bikes with identical parts aside from the seat and plastics so I just picked the color I preferred basically. When I was a junior in high school the 701sm came out and I watched RUclips clips of it all the time and fell in love with it. Nothing wrong with the original 690, obviously 👍
Went from cfr450RL and Crf300L and 701 was going to be next choice but ended up with Norden 901 Expedition. I will definitely still get one sooner than later hopefully. Enjoy! 🏍️💨
Laid out nicely. I just built a cafe style street bike with an r6 front end i love the handling but a lightweight bike would be about the biggest thing for me that could eventually get me to buy a different bike.
I'm annoyed there isn't more supermoto options for road bikes. Now there's only 125s and then a jump up to 700cc... There should be options in the 300-550cc, or anything in-between 125 and 700. Even the Husqvarna, although a light bike, it's still relatively heavy for a supermoto.
I currently have an H2SXSE and a DRZ 400SM, I use the drz alot more but you must have a sport touring bike in your stable. I will be selling the DRZ in Jan and just ordered a 2023 KTM 690 SMCR. I love my wheelies too much............
This is a huge single cylinder engine how are the vibrations and power band compared to other supermotosi wonder? I honestly don't think i need the power of a 701cc bike and there's smaller cc options but besides less cost i wonder if the smaller cc super motos offer things this bike trades off for the power?
Excellent video! I stumbled on to this video because the title of it caught my eye. Everything you said was true. But, I am surprised that someone would give up a Ducati Panigale for a 701 it's almost taboo in the sport bike community. The 701 is a single cylinder right? If so, don't you miss the power and what about on the highway? What is the HP in this bike? The riding position is very nice. One of my bikes is a 701 Svartpilen which is upright and comfortable. I like to hear this bike and see what you do with it and thanks for posting this video.
Yes it is a single. I actually sold the panigale for this because I stopped riding a lot of highway and I usually ride twisty back roads with Pennsylvania potholes and I wanted to get more into track riding. The 701sm is easily as fast on twisty roads and still feels shockingly quick. I couldn’t stand riding the speed limit on rides with my wife on a supersport anymore. I miss the brutal power and 100+ mph speeds for sure. The highway is less than ideal on the 701sm but I also have other bikes for that. I’ll probably get a v4 panigale in addition to the Husky eventually! I’m hoping to ride a svartpilen eventually and see how it feels compared to the 701sm 🤟
@@JonesBrosGarage Also in PA and also just picked up a 701 SM. Our roads are complete trash and this thing gives me the confidence to go fast while hitting potholes and gravel.
@@vwchris11 I completely agree! The suspension is also shockingly stiff with adjustments. I’m very happy with this suspension. I put it in the “sport” settings and it was way too stiff. I toned it down to around 12 on every setting and it’s a good balance. I might just go back to the oem settings because they already felt perfect for me. 🤟
Sumos rule. No bike is perfect however. Supermotos Achilles heel are wind and engine vibration - long distance riding is a chore. Otherwise, they are tough to beat.
Couldn't agree more. Light, you don't seat all cramped on it, great vision over the vehicles in front. I often find my KTM as death trap already, now this 701 even have 20HP more than my sumo! :O xD Great bike, great vid! 👍
Hahaha to be fair from your comment I’m assuming you have a 450 ktm? If that’s the case they’re a lot more raw than this bike honestly. Don’t get me wrong though, it’s brutally powerful. I was in shock my first few days on it. Honestly, I’m still shocked when I crack open the throttle! Such a fun bike, thank you! 👍
@@JonesBrosGarage Mine is 625ccm - the last carbureted (keihin fcr mx 41) KTM's LC4 engine, which is predecessor of efi 690/701. I would say that extra displacement and efi makes for it. Hehe yeah, I have heard it for so many times now, people are really impressed with the 701 power. The thing rips I am sure of that! Have fun, ride safe! 👍
@@motoric5188 ahh I believe that’s the bike my friend has. He has a very fast ktm dual sport but I forget exactly which one (aftermarket plastics). I know it predated the 701 and has loads of power (more than a 450). Either way this bike is an absolute blast.. the power doesn’t feel like it should be legal on a bike that feels so “dirt-bike” 😂
Been looking at the KTM 690 SMCR For the street…. The same bike as yours really. Got the duke 890r and it is a great bike but it doesn’t fit the style of riding I want right now.
Nice video and choice. I've been curious about the KTM version of it. Have you tried consistent (40miles) highway at 80-100mph? is it doable with the upright position? also, what's the range for you between fill ups? Thanks. And are you going o do the valve checks by yourself too? the intervals are kind of short for me.
I have the 690 Duke and do service myself. Done 61 000km now and service intervalls every 10 000km. The valves are as they where when the bike was new. And really easy. It takes me 2h from start to finished.
That’s an awesome bike, I’m thinking about getting one, I also live in Pa. In Delaware County, where is there a local Supermoto track? I’ve done track days at New Jersey Mototsports Park but recently sold my track bike, I’m very interested in Supermoto, you convinced me, nice vid, new sub here!
Hey! I was referring to Pittsburgh international speedway or “Pittrace.” I used to see supermotos running the kart track there when I went to autocross events in my car. I can’t seem to find anything on their website about it though. I’m hoping it wasn’t just a special club or something.. I actually didn’t even see it wasn’t on their site until after I made this video. If you find anything out about any other supermoto tracks near us please let me know! I will say though this bike is insanely fun and I’m excited to at least get it on the big track! The nice thing about this instead of a 450mx supermoto is that this bike can also handle bigger tracks.
Yes they are. You really can’t beat them for high speed riding obviously. And ergonomically they are absolutely incredible when you push them.. also the wind protection is a huge plus.
Sportbike killer. Not really. I had 2018 701 and fully loaded, then this year sold it and purchased 2023 Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP. The 701 single cylinder lacked the legs for highway riding here in Spain. The V-twin gives the effortless power and range of travel the 701 didn't have. 701 is perfect as track machine.
I actually really considered it! Unfortunately I felt it was too similar to what I’ve had. I just wanted to completely switch it up. The hypermotard is heavy and powerful to the point it’s more like a naked bike than a supermoto. I also wanted a bike I was somewhat okay with dropping and I could afford to completely customize. I have a very in-depth build series coming with this bike. I think the hypermotard is an absolute stunning bike. It looks gorgeous and like it’s a blast to ride. I truly do love Ducati, probably more than any other motorcycle brand. In all honesty I probably will end up on a hypermotard at some point because it’s a bike I’ve always thought seemed so awesome. Id love to try one out, my only fear is how bad I’d want to buy it!
Nice video , thankyou explaining , I love bikes and ridden so many of diffrent types I use to have a hyper ducati but I sold . Now I have Xadv750 honda . Im very happy with it only issue is 255 kg is abit heavy to flip around and play with it , after Ducati hyper . Im looking now to change Xadv to Ducati Sp Hyper or 701 Husky or smcr 690, Ofcourse Sp is heavier and more expensive but handsome good looking bike also I really like 701 Husky , and for sure I dont want heavier bike , ı was also looking at 450 husky but I think thats not road bike ( only for track ) ,, So there is 3 options 701 or 690 or the SP , since you owe one 701 what do you think ?? Thankyou
Yeah sadly the 450smcr is track only. It has a crazy amount of maintenance too but would be an awesome street bike. I honestly can say if you want something that feels extremely light get the 690smcr or 701. They’re both the same just pick which color you like. They’re extremely fun and feel much lighter than any adv or Supersport motorcycles do. The hypermotard sp is an awesome bike but it’s a lot more similar to a standard naked bike or sport bike, also the same weight. It would feel like a cross between something like a Ducati monster/Yamaha mt09 and a 701. I personally love the 701 but also want the Ducati Hypermotard sp eventually so it’s a hard choice. I definitely would say the Ducati feels more like a “normal” motorcycle though, and the 701 definitely has the lightweight, playful supermoto feel
@@JonesBrosGarage Thankyou my friend , for a long brief explanation ,totally agree , youre right I feel same what you mentioned about Ducati SP and 701 . To say the truth Actually 701 and 690 is not 100% supermoto , bec of weight -150 kg but these 2 bikes and Gas Gas is the closest to street legal supermotos ,, I wish they did Husky 450 FS as street legal and maintanence as same as 701/690.. evry ( 10.000 km) oil change ,😊...but its a dream 105 kg bike street legal . The last think I would like to ask Some people use to mention 690 vibrate less then 701 , in old models , Do you think in new models , Did 701 improve that vibration ? Thankyou .. 🛵
@@elifelif777 yes they both varied from year to year. I think at one point the ktm had better vibration dampeners on the bars but I’m not positive. What I know for sure is the 701 got an extra balancer shaft which smoothed out vibration. Originally the KTM didn’t have it. Now they’re both identical. I think it was around 2020+ where ktm added it and matched the 701. Either way they’re identical now!
hi ! new hear in your channel. i own a crf 300l sumo and i lowered it so that i can handle the bike specially when filtering. how low i can make for a 701? i am 5' 5" my inseam is 760 cm . thanks!
Def nice to have both, i have a ktm 525 supermoto good for the tight stuff, ktm 450 for enduro and gsxr 1000 for the open stuff and Twisties would def be a hard decision if i had to sell one... 2 very different bikes supermoto is good and a sportbike killer in the really tight stuff but in the open is where the sportbike outshines, definitely need to be doing near top speed of a supermoto to get a thrill on a sportbike for me
Id highly recommend the wr250x if you can find one. It’s an amazing bike and super easy to maintain, they’re bullet proof. It also won’t lose any value if you ever go to sell it. You also could try out the KLX300sm. That should also be a great first supermoto. The drz400sm is okay if you really want more power but you have to deal with a carburetor. In my opinion I’d prefer the klx300sm or wr250x over the drz any day. And thank you, I appreciate it!
Simply too heavy and too expensive to mod. Nothing wrong with it otherwise. I absolutely love the hypermotard and would gladly own one.. this bike just had more of what I was looking for currently!
Awesome bike! Do you have any plans to upgrade or change anything on it? Even just a new pipe or plastics ect? I live near you so I'll keep an eye out for you. I don't think I've seen anyone else with that bike around here. Enjoy the new bike and be safe man. I'm looking forward to more videos about it ✌️
This is the only one I’ve ever seen in person! I plan on changing pretty much everything over time. Every motor bolt on, gaurds, carbon, all new levers and maybe bars. New graphics and powder coat the frame and potentially wheels. Looking at an exhaust, intake and tune to begin with. Thank you!
@@JonesBrosGarage Is if euro 5 2022? Because then alot of mods won't work or give you more performance. Pirate racing proofed that intake mods on the 701 2022 don't do anything even when adjusting the air fuel ratio. Further more O2 dongles won't work either since the ecu will throw a code so they have to minimize the resistance in the dongle till it does nothing. Power commanders won't work either since the closed loop will simply overwrite anything you do because of that emissions crap. I would go with the coober ecu and a decatted muffler. The coober ecu is currently the only mod that does something significant on the euro 5 bikes.
@@VirtueelGamingNL It’s a 2022 brand new so it would have to adhere to euro 5. I’m not sure if the US and EU 701s are completely different but I have the fueling dongle and 1000% feel a difference. On Rottweilers website it also was the same model dongle as the older 701s for the 2022 US. I’ll have to look into that!
@@JonesBrosGarage ahh yeah US model seem to be less strict. Here in the EU we are currently restricted to coober ecu only which is quite alot more expensive then the rottweiler fuel dongle.
@@VirtueelGamingNL yeah that’s really a shame. I knew the US and EU models are different because when you buy parts it matters which you have.. I just wasn’t sure all of the differences. (Other than the EU bikes have way nicer turn signals lol)
Great vid bro, you mentioned that the plastics are super cheap to replace. Did you mean aftermarket or oem? The oem parts I’ve seen seemed pretty expensive to me. Also fyi, this bike takes four oil filters that cost 80 bucks. Four filters for less than two liters of oil! I’ll admit, that ticked me off lol.
loll at super light. It isn't, but I get i get what you mean since it's being compared to sports bikes. I really enjoyed the video btw. All the reasons you're speaking about is why I sold my sportbikes and am looking to buy a 701 next.
Hahah yeah you’re definitely right. If it was the weight of a real 450 mx bike I’d probably be in jail by now! 😂 I do think the extra power and the way it carries its weight (low center of gravity and rear mounted gas tank) really make it feel lighter than it is. And I’m completely happy with my decision to switch to the 701. I haven’t even had a regret yet. If you ride a lot of high speed highway you might have a little regret.. I used to but haven’t been much lately so I don’t even notice anything missing
@@JonesBrosGarage I really need to get out and ride one now. I have more mx/enduro based sumos and i feel like the 701 is exactly what's missing from my stable atm. Have you any experience on a 450? I always wonder how it compares with feel or how it compares to an mt07. I always found outside of the soft/underdamped suspension of the mt07, it's one of the easiest handling bikes around. It makes you so much faster than you'd be on other bikes, i wonder if the 701 feels the same.
@@sumosevn I’ve briefly ridden some new 450mx bikes in stock form. The 701 is way way faster, but also feels very “caged” by the emissions standards since it’s street legal. It lacks that “snap” of a 450mx in stock form. Probably also because the gearing will take you to 125mph easily. If you get exhaust, tune and down gear which is my plan I think you’ll find a bike more brutal than a 450, a tad less raw, but way better handling. The suspension and brakes on the 701 can’t be praised enough.. it’s an incredible set of gear for a supermoto. The stopping power and suspension is waaaaay more sport bike level than a stock 450mx bike. I think you’d be happy with it all in all.. yes it’s a tiny bit less raw than a 450 and obviously you’ll notice the extra weight if you’re doing slow speed wheelies and stuff… but riding fast, the 701 is an absolute beast. Also my wife has an mt07… the suspension is night and day compared to the 701.. the 701 is leagues faster and yes I do feel quicker on the 701 than the Ducati on anything but straights
@@JonesBrosGarage Thanks bruv! You absolutely sold me man. I already have a carbed ktm 525 that i've converted to sumo and a big bore 570 husaberg, so I don't need any as raw as those guys. So the 701 or 690 seems like they should definitely be the next bike to add to the stable. I prefer the 701, but if the 690 is cheaper I'll prolly go for it. Thaanks for the amazing break down, I really appreciate it.
@@sumosevn no problem! Now that you mention having those, you NEED this bike. It’ll fit in perfectly with what you already have, it has tons of power but is drastically different than both of those bikes.. which both are awesome also by the way!
I have a ktm 690 SMC AND A GSXR750. These bikes are used for completely different things. If your riding in tight canyon slow speed corners the supermoto is great but if your in high speed sweeper turn roads then your going to get destroyed like where the V2 is good at.
I agree. I typically don’t find myself on sweeping roads where 110+ mph is needed. I’ve noticed my brother on his monster 1200s (similar to the V2) will pull away out of the apex of a turn onto a straight, but I’m right with him again at the next set of corners. The V2/supersport bikes definitely excel on more open roads and highways of course. 👍 Oh and that’s an awesome duo you have
I jumped from a 2019 MT-09 to the 2021 701 SM... and it's plenty fast, very stable even at 120mph.
I’m a old motocrosser and I have a FJ09 that can get scary at high speeds and low speed……
I’m buying a SuperMoto within the next two months.
Did you experience any problems with the 701?
@@You-Toober I put 17,000 Kilometres so far and I’ve changed the oils and filters every 5,000. I had the valves checked at 10,000 and they were still in spec. The only thing I encountered that’s finicky is the master brake reservoir tends to weep if you don’t tighten the right amount. I do have the Wings Exhaust and the Rottweiler Fuel Dongle, those are the only engine mods I’ve made
@@AutoMan84 I just did the fuel dongle. Extremely worth it.
I went from enduro to sport touring to supersport to supermoto.
I bought a 690 SMC R this summer and ive been riding it every day to work for the last 3 months
How's it now?
@@SteveZ919 Great commuter, great trackbike. it has 13.5K kms now
i bought an arrow exhaust, Rottweiler intake, PC6 with a custom table. running at 86 whp.
did 6 trackdays and 2 more this week.
i did have to go back to fix a radiator issue, it had a crack at the upper bracket. and i had to go back to fix a cam chain tensioner issue. multiple people report this issue, i had it fixed under warrenty.
the quickshifter has issues too but you can get this solved by getting an ecu update
The wr450 would be a nice sumo conversion just a little more maintenance
which bike that you've owned in that list were the most memorable?
What power have you gotten out of that
Absolutely bang on.
I’ve had four different CBR1000rr’s now I ride a CRF450L (with sm wheels) and it’s the most fun bike I have ridden
2017 701 enduro here. No issues. Pretty easy to maintain. Just turned 20,000 miles.
I agree. We’ll have to see what they come out with now that the wr250r is gone! 🤞
Ive just had my euro5 remapped last week with my exhaust on and air filter and gave it a good few more horsepower across the full rev range. Especially low down where its needed. Love it!
Hell yeah! I’ll be doing that soon! What did you use to remap? Pcv or flash tune?
And you’re right, we need more sumos.
It's way funner to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow
That’s crazy you did the same! What supermoto did you end up buying? Thank you! 🤟
I just got a 2018 KTM 690 enduro with supermoto rims and tires and it is definitely my favorite bike. I’ll keep it forever.
The look and feel of this bike is invokes fun in it. beautiful bike man! looking forward for your next video on this bike!
I agree! It’s such a fun bike! I appreciate it, I’ll be doing a full review on it soon, of course 🤟
@@JonesBrosGarage Yes, and let us know of any issues with this bike. The good and the bad.
@@You-Toober will do, for sure!
Yes, its beautiful in proportions, it reminds me of nuda 900 😞
The current Ducati Hypermotard is really too heavy (and expensive) for a supermoto. It's quite exciting that Ducati are working on a new single cylinder Hypermotard. It will be a similar capacity as this Husqvarna.
Agreed! I have the Hyper 950. While it does corner well it is too big to corner like the 701/ 690. Can’t wait to see the Duc 659SM
Phillip Jones checking in. Yewwww. Im going to do the same thing. Sellling my 2012 Triump Speed Triple 1050,and save up for a 701
swapped my triple in for an smcr , ridiculous fun !!
triple was getting a little heavy for me
Enjoyed your video, I share many of your reasons and just bought a 690 SMC R myself.
I'm happy.
@@ironken1796 sounds awesome! I’ll probably go with the wings!
The svartpilen is an awesome looking bike too! I’ve heard it’s a great bike to ride. Thank you for checking out the video 👍
@@JonesBrosGarage It's really great
That's why I'm convering my Fireblade to track only this winter and getting sumo for twisty backroads
That’s such a great idea! That’ll be an awesome set up. What sumo are you thinking about?
@@JonesBrosGarage Husky 701, engine is not that much stocked so for street and learning how to slide it's the best choice.
@@Arnechos yes it’s an amazing bike. Feels really similar to a proper 450 race supermoto. Heavier but also more power, it kind of balances out. But you have way less maintenance and can ride for hours on end! 👍
My only issue is parking it to go do something my fear of getting it stolen is a bit much
Yeah I definitely worry about that too. I might look into getting some anti theft devices
Its surprising how much different as passenger makes.
shes like 115 lbs, im 180lbs
That's a sweet bike. Good review lad. It's good to see Husqvarna making a comeback in the US. BTW - it's "Husk-var-nuh".
I once heard someone say "Buying a Supersport bike is like marrying a stripper"
I went from 690 Enduro to MT09, the upright seat position is almost the same but the 690 seat was hard as fuck and driving for 6hours straight was awful thus i wanted something a bit more sport toury but didnt wanted to give up on the seating upright position of supermoto and the most comfort in that i found in the mt09
Great video, I’ve watched quite a few of yours and I have been really enjoying them, just about to pick up a 23 KTM 690 SMC-R
But was trying to hold out for a 2024 hoping they would add the TFT.
With that said I can only see emissions gripping this platform tighter and tighter until it’s dead.. id personally just pick one up now honestly, or whenever it’s smart financially for you
Why did you take husq but not ktm smcr, which is almost the same but is a "original" version?
Just prefer the Husqvarna colors mainly. For this model year they’re identical bikes with identical parts aside from the seat and plastics so I just picked the color I preferred basically. When I was a junior in high school the 701sm came out and I watched RUclips clips of it all the time and fell in love with it. Nothing wrong with the original 690, obviously 👍
Went from cfr450RL and Crf300L and 701 was going to be next choice but ended up with Norden 901 Expedition. I will definitely still get one sooner than later hopefully.
Enjoy! 🏍️💨
That was quite a leap!
You did exactly what my mate did I wasn’t impressed by either bikes , my full blown crf 450 supermoto was loads more fun.
Really? I’m surprised to hear that! What did you find the 701 lacking? Just that raw snapiness or was it the extra weight?
Laid out nicely. I just built a cafe style street bike with an r6 front end i love the handling but a lightweight bike would be about the biggest thing for me that could eventually get me to buy a different bike.
Tnx for video, I have a duke for street which is my most drives and some highway. But what's a SM for? That's the question
Thats a very good video . Im thinking of buying a svartpilen 401 like my first motorbyke and this video was really usesful for my 👍.
I’ve heard that’s an amazing first bike! I have to try to ride one eventually. Loved the look when they came out too 👍
I currently have an H2SXSE and a DRZ 400SM, I use the drz alot more but you must have a sport touring bike in your stable. I will be selling the DRZ in Jan and just ordered a 2023 KTM 690 SMCR. I love my wheelies too much............
Just realized the 701 has better power to weight than a v2
I ran into a dude who had a '21 and it was pissing oil with about 8000 miles on it. Good luck with this dude
@@JonesBrosGarage Thanks!
Wise choice going with SM.I ride a SM as well. (2006 KTM 525).
Live in PA. Where you at brah? I bought a mint used 2007 ktm smr and love it. Can't get enough of it
Sumos rule. No bike is perfect however. Supermotos Achilles heel are wind and engine vibration - long distance riding is a chore. Otherwise, they are tough to beat.
Can I start off of a supermoto? And still have it as my daily driver
Couldn't agree more. Light, you don't seat all cramped on it, great vision over the vehicles in front.
I often find my KTM as death trap already, now this 701 even have 20HP more than my sumo! :O xD
Great bike, great vid!
I love the 701, but why wouldn’t you get the Hypermotard instead?
Nice video and choice. I've been curious about the KTM version of it. Have you tried consistent (40miles) highway at 80-100mph? is it doable with the upright position? also, what's the range for you between fill ups? Thanks. And are you going o do the valve checks by yourself too? the intervals are kind of short for me.
I have the 690 Duke and do service myself. Done 61 000km now and service intervalls every 10 000km. The valves are as they where when the bike was new. And really easy. It takes me 2h from start to finished.
Cool. I have a RC390 now with 9000miles valve checks. I'm contemplating on DIY it. It would be the last frontier for me@@John-Dukemaster
How does it do for long rides and on the highway?
NJMP has a Kart track but not sure if they have a Supermoto day, maybe we need to convince them or start a group and rent the track out.
Have you tried dropping the ride height a bit?
my speed triples been gathering dust since I got an smcr
Sports bikes are great depends on what you live near, like a mountain full of twisties
Haha, I have the exact same bike, but with Leo Vince full exhaust... One of the best bikes in the world, 100% pure fun!
What’s the actual difference between 701 supermoto vs enduro version other than the wheels being different?
suspension , brakes , maps
All excellent points.
You’ve already answered this question; why not consider the Ducati Hypermotard?
Professional video man. I'm saving up for one now.
How tall are you? And what year is this bike? How much it cost?
Nice video , thankyou explaining ,
I love bikes and ridden so many of diffrent types
I use to have a hyper ducati but I sold .
Now I have Xadv750 honda . Im very happy with it only issue is
255 kg is abit heavy to flip around and play with it , after Ducati hyper .
Im looking now to change Xadv to Ducati Sp Hyper or 701 Husky or smcr 690,
Ofcourse Sp is heavier and more expensive but handsome good looking bike also I really like 701 Husky , and for sure I dont want heavier bike , ı was also looking at 450 husky but I think thats not road bike ( only for track ) ,,
So there is 3 options 701 or 690 or the SP , since you owe one 701 what do you think ??
To say the truth
Actually 701 and 690 is not 100% supermoto , bec of weight -150 kg but these 2 bikes and Gas Gas is the closest to street legal supermotos ,,
I wish they did Husky 450 FS as street legal and maintanence as same as 701/690.. evry ( 10.000 km) oil change ,😊...but its a dream 105 kg bike street legal .
The last think I would like to ask
Some people use to mention 690 vibrate less then 701 , in old models , Do you think in new models , Did 701 improve that vibration ?
Thankyou ..

Def nice to have both, i have a ktm 525 supermoto good for the tight stuff, ktm 450 for enduro and gsxr 1000 for the open stuff and Twisties would def be a hard decision if i had to sell one... 2 very different bikes supermoto is good and a sportbike killer in the really tight stuff but in the open is where the sportbike outshines, definitely need to be doing near top speed of a supermoto to get a thrill on a sportbike for me
What area of PA are you in? I am in PA as well (Bucks/Montco area) I have a 701 sm as well...
What part of Pa are you from??
Hey, whats the best Starter supermoto, could u recomend me any? love ur videos : )
@@JonesBrosGarage Thank you man this helps alot!
@@Andu21 no problem, hope you get one soon! 👍🤞
There is a 300cc supermodel that came out. Think its a kawi
@@chrissantana2858 yes the klx300sm. Seems it’ll be an amazing replacement for the discontinued Yamaha wr250x
Why not a Hypermotard?
Simply too heavy and too expensive to mod. Nothing wrong with it otherwise. I absolutely love the hypermotard and would gladly own one.. this bike just had more of what I was looking for currently!
Buying one tomorrow, getting rid of my 22 s1000rr.
(Other than the EU bikes have way nicer turn signals lol)
why not hypermotard?
Great vid bro, you mentioned that the plastics are super cheap to replace. Did you mean aftermarket or oem? The oem parts I’ve seen seemed pretty expensive to me. Also fyi, this bike takes four oil filters that cost 80 bucks. Four filters for less than two liters of oil! I’ll admit, that ticked me off lol.
You really dont have to replace the plastics. They rarely hit the street. Pls its 2 filters and 2 screens. The oil is $80 lol
Your evolution is complete.
Thank you for this video, I was thinking to buy Streetfighter v2, but checking 701, and looks like that would be right choice
loll at super light.
Spot on bro 👍🏼👍🏼great insight into this amazing bike
Hell yeah! Ride safe! 🤟
