Carlos Clivilles, I've been watching this show on PBS since the 80s myself and I can say that he's pulled up in the cars a few times, but I've never seen him do it on the road like this ever.
Seeing John do a review is like seeing Dr. Dre, Snoop, and Ice Cube rap. It brings a smile on my face. My passion was ignited because of John yelling at me early in the morning as kid. I couldn't wait to see motor week.
I like that John wears a tuxedo, and other "business man" clothes with it when he presents a test car, but when he test drives it, he has a random casual outfit like he goes for a ride to the beach
What a cool high tech car! Re Chinese Cadillacs, Cadillac has a large plant in Shanghai. Currently only the only Chinese built Cadillac sold in the States is the Hybrid. The USA Cadillacs are mostly made in Michigan still, but the ones sold in China are often made in China. The Chinese love Buicks and Cadillacs, so it is a big market for GM, and the Chinese government is very hard on import companies that don’t have plants in China. Cut GM a little slack, they are just trying to sell cars and keep afloat.
I gotta admit this Ct6 is growing on me with every review! Can't wait to see the new 4.2tt version when it hits the streets! It should be a home run?! Just a little more interior enhancements (more aesthetics/symetry) & I'll be in their dealership with cash in hand!!
Somewhat misleading. The Super Cruise is NOT AVAILABLE on the PHEV, at least not as far as I'm aware. The technology showcase could use better dividing between trim explanations so that point does not become confusing.
It’s funny to look back six years ago and see what has changed. Cadillac was still trying to convince people to choose their sedans over SUVs. But instead, people kept on choosing SUVs, even though they are comparatively worse value for money, worse to drive (especially compared to a car as good as this), more expensive to maintain, and more wasteful. Unless the US Government steps in with excise taxes, the SUV will win the race.
Why does all the hybrid vehicles have to be basic bland & plain looking? Thats what i like about the Tesla & BMW i8 they still looks like a sports cars unlike UGLY and boring hybrid vehicles like the toyota prius honda civic chevy volt and every other ev or plug in out there
Is the whole car from China or was it just the hybrid system that was made there? A lot of people hear Buick's are made in China which they are but those ones are also sold in China, The Buick's sold in America are mostly made here with a few parts made in Canada/Mexico but the whole of the car is assembled here.
Thanks, thats what i thought but everybody was getting all upset thinking Cadillac is made in china, also people tend to think everything from china is cheap poorly built junk but in reality china builds products to that low standard because their American clients ask for the cheapest method possible.
LOL, Cadillac not having a lot of CT-6s on the road is most definitely not okay with them, an aspirational car is a Ferrari, not a CT-6. For the people complaining about China, you sure don't seem to have a lot of problems with companies like Mercedes, BMW, Toyota and Honda building or assembling cars here, hmm, hypocrisy?
Rock Auto is garbage. Sent me the wrong product numerous times and expects you to send it back at your cost. Gonna start buying from other online retailers. Enough of them
You lost me at "made in China". Not just lost me, but alienated me toward GM as a whole. I won't buy a made in Mexico Ford. Ironically my Honda Civic is assembled in USA, engine made in USA, transmission made in USA.I won't be going back to the general anytime soon. I hope the latest tariffs screw up GM's plans.
Hi John, It is you that isn't that bright a fellow. The door is open, a precedence has been set, if we aren't protesting this move by GM immediately, then soon all sorts of stuff from the general will be made there. There are already too many components sourced from China. Why blindly accept more? Especially after US taxpayers bailed out GM? You John, are the moron, the guy that's too slow to see the end results of this action. The prick that's too selfish to even care about the consequences.
Chris M Like i said before you really aren't bright are you? The hybrid version of the ct6 was made with china in mind because of their high taxation on co2 and displacement. We do not have these taxes in america so why cadillac waste time and money re tooling american assembly line for something that wont sell in the states. Also without china cadillac wouldn't even have the money to develop their new cars and technologies that sell in America.
Well I won't be buying a car made in China, or made in India anytime soon. I buy Japanese cars, I've owned Toyota's and now a Honda. I've also owned lots of U.S. made cars, and even a few German made cars. None of the foreign car makes of the cars I've mentioned have received large bailouts from the U.S. government lately either. GM has no loyalty to the country that saved its ass from the brink of financial ruin. Should've let the bankruptcy court have GM. They clearly care for profits on Wall Street more than jobs in America. I wish there was still a US car company that made cars entirely in the U.S. but that no longer exists. Apparently you flame throwing hypocrites don't give a rats ass about it. I stopped buying american made cars when the quality went to crap. When you are new car shopping the have stickers in the windows showing how much content of a car is sourced from which countries. I consider this information, reliability, and safety scores, fuel economy, appearance, driving dynamics, and then buy what makes the most sense. I wasn't about to give Ford more money for a less reliable, more expensive car, made in Mexico. I picked the car with good reliability and crash test rating that was made in the U.S. and had a U.S. built engine and transmission.
I doubt you are half as bright as you think you are. What did you study in college? Political science? Liberal arts? GM has been making cars in this country without help from China for a long long time. The government that helped GM was the U.S. government. I know that GM builds cars in China quite differently than here. Importing them here and selling them as premium luxury cars sends a message that I don't agree with. Apparently you can't see that. I'm glad a few other people aren't as slow as you though.
weirdshibainu Not everywhere on the navigation maps dictated by Cadillac and they do make sure that your eyes are on the road even if both hands are off the wheel. At least, they kind of addressed Tesla’s fully autonomous system, which, as you know killed people.
Stefan Unson the only way we can have true autonomous vehicles is if we sink a trillion into a smart network infrastructure that directs and controls every vehicle...putting cameras on individual cars and calling it even semi autonomous is bullshit
You really don't get it. It is just like cruise control and is great in bumper to bumper traffic or on the highway. It releases stress....why am I even trying.
I've been watching MOTOR WEEK since I was a child in the 80s, and I THINK, today is the first time I've seen John driving one of the show's test cars.
Carlos Clivilles, I've been watching this show on PBS since the 80s myself and I can say that he's pulled up in the cars a few times, but I've never seen him do it on the road like this ever.
They have been around since 1981
Brother, I'm 38 and I have been watching Motorweek since the early 90s as a kid myself. I love this show. RIP Goss. 🙏 ❤
Mr. Davis's MotorWeek is the best MotorWeek.
Seeing John do a review is like seeing Dr. Dre, Snoop, and Ice Cube rap. It brings a smile on my face. My passion was ignited because of John yelling at me early in the morning as kid. I couldn't wait to see motor week.
Thumbs up if you want to see John Davis behind the wheel more often! I do
I like that John wears a tuxedo, and other "business man" clothes with it when he presents a test car, but when he test drives it, he has a random casual outfit like he goes for a ride to the beach
This 2.0T would make a great engine for a CruzeSS or even something new like a small lightweight RwD/AWD compact sedan and all it Nova
Cruze Z24
What a cool high tech car!

John Davis for President all agree!! His slogan " I'll Keep America In between The Lines."
Did he say Assembled in China????? Another American icon sent overseas.
GMP Only the hybrid variant is built in China. The regular ct6 is built in America.
So it be better built then...
This caddalic looks amazing
I gotta admit this Ct6 is growing on me with every review! Can't wait to see the new 4.2tt version when it hits the streets! It should be a home run?! Just a little more interior enhancements (more aesthetics/symetry) & I'll be in their dealership with cash in hand!!
Same price as an ELR two years ago but with 4 doors and 300% more advanced tech and luxury....GM. omg
Can Super Cruise added on CT6 Plug-in?
The car is gorgeous.
Hopefully, Cadillac doesn't lose luxury and comfort while becoming GM’s electric brand.
Can this car be purchased at Harbor Freight?
2019 ct6 is way better can’t wait to see it on the road
How I wished Cadillac could introduce a right hand ct-6 phev version in South East Asia...
John looks like he is/was battling cancer if so, Godspeed old friend.
That shit is gonna make me fall asleep during rush hour commute.
What are these green and orange lights on the steering wheel for?? Ferrari-style??
The ct6 plugin in hybrid first come with the TT option
Um. Is that a camera 📷 on the steering wheel?
yes also another brand has this technology already lexus.
Actually it's on the steering column. It doesn't spin around with the wheel LoL.
very nice cadillac
How can I cite this video's blog on MotorWeek's website in MLA format>? Please help I have a report due tomorrow !!!!
!!!
Very well informed video. Greatly detailed and very informative.
DREAM CAR ALERT!!!!!!!
Somewhat misleading.

I've been watching the retro reviews for a long time now. Wow, what a shock to see him now. age progression is a bitch
Twin turbo v6 should be 5.0 seconds to 60mph were you guys going up hill?
This is 2.0T with battery. Could be faster but then some might scoff at buying a less expensive 4-banger.

Chinese assembled Cadillac. Screw you GM! Not in my garage.
Pablocruiser You may also want to stay away from all buick crossovers(except the largest one), and stay clear of anything 'chevy'.
LRulesTheWorld I certainly will.
Pablocruiser yeah just buy a honda there assembled in Ohio lol
Hondas and the Korean stuff are more American made than the offerings of the big three. Hmmm
King of The Castle Not any Chinese junk. Couple of Volvos and a Kia. So are you a UAW hack or communist sympathizer?
Is the whole car from China or was it just the hybrid system that was made there? I'll be Frank I'm Leary about using my name Only the hybrid ct6 the regular gas powered ct6 is built in America.
Thanks, thats what i thought but everybody was getting all upset thinking Cadillac is made in china, also people tend to think everything from china is cheap poorly built junk but in reality china builds products to that low standard because their American clients ask for the cheapest method possible.
@@eaglefat9398 Buick, again for 2020, is top mainstream brand for reliability.
Respect to John Davis.
Chinese assembly is always a good thing.
PHEV...?!
Are u serious!?😨❤️
This car is begging for a V8!!!
Hopefully there will be a “v” series with the 6.2 l soon.
The ‘real’ FIRST 🇺🇸
Haha, yup!
Super Cruise would put me to sleep.

Yeah, I hate having to keep my hands on the wheel, while I’m DRIVING.
Lost me at "Chinese assembled".
USS ENTERPRISE me too hahaa
So you all are OKAY with this Chinesium Caddy , WT?
Rock Auto is garbage. Sent me the wrong product numerous times and expects you to send it back at your cost. Gonna start buying from other online retailers. Enough of them
I've always had good luck with them.
Chinese Cadillac costing $85K USD? NO thanks.
You lost me at "made in China". Not just lost me, but alienated me toward GM as a whole. I won't buy a made in Mexico Ford. Yay! A Chinese car sold by Americans.
China made Caddy? ... wow..
OMAR6575 XDD
... and soon the CT6 will be no more. :(
This is what Cadillac should be . The rest of their cars suck .
Have we gotten so lazy, that we can't drive our own cars?.
weirdshibainu Not everywhere on the navigation maps dictated by Cadillac and they do make sure that your eyes are on the road even if both hands are off the wheel. At least, they kind of addressed Tesla’s fully autonomous system, which, as you know killed people.

RayJ-HT that's cruise control , not autonomous driving....try harder
I love controlling the car. I dont even like to use cruise control. But eventually computers will do everything for us.
Assembled in China!!??..WTF
Lol what is this like autonomous level 2? haha Nice try
Chinese built.....well we know the quality will be terrible like all the rest of the Chinese made junk.
Acc0rd79 Have you got iPhone? It's Made in China. The same with almost every other Notebook or Laptop
