Is primer (protein bond) needed for rubber base gels?
Hi! It depends on the specific brand you're using (some do, other don't), so always check their instructions. 😊
How long would it last, without any gel on top. Just this rubber base
I would have to try it out! But I think it would show wear and tear a bit faster. And it wouldn't have a nice shine to it
i love the color so much and good job but i have a question, is it normal that the rubber base bottle have a thik consistancy? and when i apply it should i foil my nails to remove the shine, actually that's what i was avoiding i didn't want to foil my nails, more oever i applied a thin layer of rubber base but it is starting to peel off
Hi! Yes, the gel can thicken up if it's in a cold environment. You can put it between your legs or put it in a cup with warm water to heat it up a bit so it gets more liquid.😊 I get that you don't want to file your natural nails but you only have to do it very lightly to remove the natural shine (oil) and leftover dead skin and cuticle. If not, you will get lifting ☺️ So do it lightly with a buffer and after that work that first thin layer into your natural nail, scrub it in a bit so it gets in all the grooves. Hope this helps ☺️
Can you put the link ☺️ I’m trying to find the rubber base for born pretty and can’t find it!!
It's in the description box :) bornpretty.com/products/born-pretty-pro-15ml-rubber-base-gel?ref=sl45do66
I love them. When you fill how long does it take? Is it quicker than acrylic fills?
I don't fill it in, I always remove it completely so it does take some time. I think I spend about 2,5 to 3 hours on a new set. Haven't done any acrylic so can't compare. :)
If your talking about doing them yourself, it's been my experience that once you get the hang of it a gel fill is quicker.
Ok thanks. Just got them for the first time at the salon. Still kinda confused about fills but I'll see what happens. They are so pretty. Best/ prettiest manicure I've ever had
Se puede mezclar el rubber base con esmalte semipermanente para conseguir otro color de rubber????????
Some people do it with products by the same brand but I haven't tried it yet!
Can we add a layer of a coloured gel polish on the top of the rubber base before adding the topcoat?
You can! Just make sure the rubberbase isn't too thick 😊
Are these two separate products? Rubber base and BIAB?
In essence, it is. But I have seen so many different opinions 😅 in my experience, rubberbase is more flexible and doesn't add that much additional strength compared to BIAB which is a builder gel. 😊
So what im getting from this is that BIAB is usually applies using builder gel but you instead used rubberbase? Does is have the same effect? Why would one pick rubberbase over a buildergeld voor a BIAB treatment?
I just use the same application method thats why I put BIAB in the title ☺️ comes down to personal preference as rubberbase is just more flexible and less sturdy than BIAB 😊
Hi! Can I place a gel x nail ontop of this?
Not sure! But I don't think so
Do you have the link for the product?
Here you go ☺bornpretty.com/products/born-pretty-pro-15ml-rubber-base-gel?ref=sl45do66
Do you need to clean the nails or use a top coat after?
Yes, absolutely! Top coat is necessary 😊
Wow, that's all you need ? Is a Rubber Base colored paint & 60 seconds under the lamp ? Pretty
Yes and a top coat!! But it does vary by brand 😊 thanks for watching!
Do u have to buff the nails before applying the rubber base .. Like its done for normal gels ?
Yes! Just a light buff to remove the natural shine. :)
What top coat did you use?
I think I used a Born Pretty top coat! 😊
I'm new at this. Could someone explain the benefits of rubberbase?
It's kinda like a protective layer on top of the nail which really helps them grow as they don't break as easily. BIAB also has a self-pinching effect on the nail, where it creates a nice C-curve. This adds additional strength :)
If i apply that much rubber base the product floods my cuticles, what am i doing wrong?
Flip your finger upside down to level the product and do one nail at a time. Apply to on finger, get it right then cure, then do the rest one at a time as well
Doing one nail at a time indeed really helps! Some other possibilities/solutions:
- It is also possible that your product maybe too warm so it's a bit too liquid
- Maybe there is still some residue on your nail near the cuticle, so make sure that your nail is perfectly clean.
- Use a slip layer to help level the product and make sure that you don't touch the skin
- When swaying the product over the nail surface make sure that you point your nail downwards so the product doesn't get in your cuticles. :)
how😭
Why do you apply and cure a layer before you build the nail? It seems quite inconsequential. Also is the born pretty builder gel any good in your experience? I’ve tried a top from them and it’s nothing to write home about..
Hi! It acts like a basecoat, I saw it once as a tip from a nail artist using TheGelBottle. :) This rubberbase was pretty good, lasted a full 4 weeks! It was a little bit too flexible for my liking though and if you pick of your gel this is not a gel product for you because since it's so flexible it's very easy to pick off. I received their BIAB and reinforcement gel as well but still have to try those out, so can't share my opinion on those just yet. :)
@@femdoesnails thanks for the feedback on that! I still don’t quite grasp the application method tho. Doesn’t builder gel usually act as a base coat anyway? Or have you tried it with a thin cured layer and without and noticed a difference in wearability?
@@stellar783sorry for the late reply! Not all builder gels act as basecoats it really depends on the brand 😊 I haven't tried wether there is actually a difference (I'll do it next time though) but I just like the idea that there is kinda a basecoat underneath ☺️
Do you need use machine file?
No, not at all! A manual manicure works just as well 😊
What is BIAB
It is builder gel in a bottle 😊
Color name?
Hi! this is Born Pretty Rubberbase Gel RBG01 😊 bornpretty.com/products/born-pretty-pro-15ml-rubber-base-gel?ref=sl45do66
I do this, but I start seeing almost immediately that base didnt stick to my nails in the corners 😢 or starts to peel off 2 days after…
Hi! This is likely because the nail isn't prepped enough. Be very careful and thorough while prepping the nail, also make sure that you don't touch the nail again after prepping.
@@femdoesnailscan you explain how to prep the nail?
If you are just going to wear the rubber gel only, do you top it with a base coat and top coat or just top coat? Also, do you use a primer and/or dehydrator before applying?
Hi! I only top it with a top coat 😊 whether I use a basecoat underneath really depends in the brand. Primer/dehydrator also depends on the brand 😊 with this brand I only clean the nail with aceton but don't use a seperate primer and dehydrator
What does BIAB stand for?
Builder in a bottle! 😊
@@femdoesnails thanks!
Can you recommend a really good nail lamp that doesn’t cost a fortune.
Hi! I have one from Sun UV (48W) and works great. I think I paid 40 euros for it :) Just be sure that the lamp is powerful enough!
@@femdoesnails what does it need to be for bgib
@@TJ-vc5ky Really depends on the brand! But for TheGelbottle it is one of 48W and LED lights with wave length 365 + 405nm :)
So this is just rubber base?? No top coat or anything??
Just rubberbase and clear topcoat! Sorry should have put it in the description 😊 I just applied it straight onto the rubberbase after curing
So it's rubber base only not BIAB? Confused.
@@unboundbytiffany it's rubberbase but application is the same as BIAB 😊
Question do you need to do your nails one by one or can you cure them all at the same time
@@danimolina2127 Rubberbase is very runny, so doing them one-by-one prevents the product from running down the sidewalls or moving too much. I flash cure to save time though, so I apply product to one nail, cure it for 10 sec and then move to the next (and repeat). When I reach my pinky nail I do a complete cure for 60 sec. ☺ I do my thumbnail separately. ☺
Biab es igual a rubber?????
No, they are different but I use the same application technique for both. :)
Se ve tan fácil y no me sale 😂😂
Practice makes perfect! Thanks for watching 😊
That's waaaay too thick 😮
It's not though, you can see that it is nicely level and thin at the free edge at the end 😊 too thin and it doesn't give any additional strenght and will break in no time
