    Great info! I typically use a basic acrylic overlay that would be used for fake nails but on my natural nails. It gives a hardening effect that keeps my nails hard, even in water. Then, I apply my nail color and then seal/cure with a product called Seche Viva. It cures without an LED/UV light, which I prefer. Always a great video!❤

    When I say I love ASP that's my go too. Only Sally's carry it out here and it's based in the UK I believe. I use it for my regular manicures but also when I'm applying nail tips instead of using acrylic. It's so much easier to with with and no smell of the monomer.

      This is exactly what i want to do too, what have you found out by chance?

    • @Desumosella
      @Desumosella 4 месяца назад

      Trying to make sure I understand:
      1. Builder gel on natural nails (dehydrator, primer, base gel, builder gel, top coat)
      ^^^that is customizable; meaning you don’t HAVEEE to dehydrate and prime if you don’t want to--I have done with and without and honestly never noticed a difference to be honest… some brands have a 7-1 builder gel…which has many functions (I still use a dehydrator and primer that is just MY PREFERENCE).
      You’re now asking if you still use a top coat because you would like to apply press on nails with regular nail glue.
      I have not tried press on nails over natural nail builder gel manicure…I honestly do not think it would work out very well for me personally for sizing… and fit.
      You would use a top coat to finish your builder gel manicure on your natural nails yes. If you choose to apply press on nails with regular nail glue afterwards … let me know how it works and if they fit well… I just feel it will look unnatural. But yes you need the top coat over your builder gel- yes regular nail glue will stick for applying press ons.

    • @m.fussell_
      @m.fussell_ 18 дней назад

      @@emilypaton3512 that will depend on the builder gel you are using! For example, modelones builder gel needs to cure under a UV/LED lamp for 60-90 seconds. So just check on the back of the bottle and you’re good!🫶🏼

    I keep getting lifting after a week. I use dehydrator, primer and then builder gel. Could it be the type of product I am using.

    • @JauntyJuli
      @JauntyJuli  6 месяцев назад +5

      Hmm. Do you have naturally oily nail beds? Sometimes natural oils cause premature lifting. You could try a different dehydrator, possibly one with a sticky formula. Other possible reasons for lifting could be: too thick of coats, leaving product on the skin when curing, not fully curing the gel, or exposure to water too soon after doing your manicure. Play around with those variables and see if any of those make a difference. Good luck!

    • @MadeByTaniel
      @MadeByTaniel 5 месяцев назад +5

      Prep the nails by pushing back and cleaning up all the dead skin. Buff the nails to ensure that you remove the sheen and make them matte. Ensure that you get the cuticle area really well. Clean the nails with alcohol and a brush. Apply a dehydrator, apply Young Nails protein bond or another primer of your choice. Add a thin layer of base coat/base gel and cure. After that, add a thin layer of the builder gel, do not cure. Pick up a blob of builder gel on your brush and put it down close to the cuticle but not too close and then push it up closer to the cuticle and work it down to the free edge and cure.

      Also, big thing- dry manis! Keep your nails away from water or liquids (which is why in the video she is even starting to shy away from cuticle removal liquid). If you wash your hands try waiting a while (30mins) before starting to be safe

      Yep! I do base and cure, slip layer of builder gel and cure, another slightly thicker or "cloud" layer of builder (this is where you'd build the apex) and cure, then whatever gel colour/s and cure, and then finally top coat and cure.
