I like how he is casually touching buttons in his steering wheel whilst I'd be holding on to dear life.
And that's why he's getting the big bucks and that Mercedes seat next year. Lewis Hamilton was rumored to be so bored at some of the races, he was watching jumbotron to see the field position without asking his engineer for it. And Max Verstappen was able to tell that Mercedes was trying to double stack just through the radio with his engineer.

Ik this is a joke but every driver probably prefers either low or high helmet so us fans need to deal with it ig
to be fair it's one of the simplest tracks out there, only about 6 corners
They should improve the camera mounting if they want to expand this to all drivers
These helmet cams really show how much head wobbling goes on throughout a lap. The fact they can perfectly judge their braking points and apex with their head being thrown side to side is amazing
It's a lot smoother in real life, your eyes are like gyros
The camera is off centre and your eyes can move.
In real life its not that worse. I have a video on my channel driving a Formula Renault 2.0 with a better visor cam than F1 does. The stabilisation on that is better and is closer to what you experience in real life

Simple - FP are for practice, not for lap times. The lap timing board is entirely meaningless for judging car / driver performance

I just think they should add this as another view. Imagine seeing pole laps, fastests laps and overtakes alongside other views like the onboard and off board camera
It's a great idea but unfortunately at the moment it's impossible to have a camera that's small enough to be mounted on a helmet without any problems and with enough battery to stream a hole race at high resolutions like 1080p or 4K. They're starting doing it for a few laps only, but there's still a lot of work to do

@@Dalek448 Tbf Formula E managed to show live footage from helmet cam (Same system with this one) without problems, maybe except resolutions.
But it will be better as days gone by.
@@Dalek448 It's not battery powered, it's wired for power and communications using the same cable bundle leading to the helmet that is already used for communications, which later ties into the cables from the biometric gloves before plugging into the cockpit somewhere.

That Eau Rouge part was brilliant.
My goodness, Monza is bumpy. All that vibration and one really appreciates how much work the driver does for 1.5 to 2 hours (Monza is always a ‘short’ race time wise because of its speed and its few corners). Imagine if George thought, “Let’s have some fun: off to old banking - let’s see what this suspension is made of”. After driving that “smooth” part of Monza…. Yoicks!

I've heard quite a lot about the Pizza's at spa.
Here's a wild guess. Helmet cams weren't a thing because of the info in the dash.
What if, F1 has partnered up with Microsoft, Google, or Apple, to use their retina projecting tech in F1 helmets, eliminating the dash screen and giving the driver more information.
Bell did experiment with something similar in Shumacher's helmet in the late 90's with Ferrari. It was a HUD projected in the helmet.
