Hello, thanks for the tips. I'm primarily interested in the feet parallel hooping where you go left-right-left-right-etc. Are there any other queues you can give like for example what to do w/ the glutes or other body parts that are actively engaged during this type of hooping?
Hi Mitchell, since you are ocmfortable with left and right movement I would suggest you pay attention to the touch points of the hoop and the pace of your rotation of the hoop. It helps if you count along at a 1 2 3 4 and repeat to help you guide along and get comfortable with it. Helps if you bring your awareness to the touchpoints by closing your eyes and focusing on the areas where the hoop is landing and hitting it and increasing the force with which you are pushing the hoop with each hit, your body will guide you along and remember to take deep breaths before each new spin and try not holding your breath. There is no need to tighten your glute to get this spinning however we tighten the glute to push the hoop up when it starts sliding down. You can check my other video on the hoop to lift the hoop from falling down which shall help you with that as well. Hope this was helpful. Happy hooping!
@@Hoopwithsupriya Hi Supriya, thank you very much for the pointers. Using your suggestions and tips I did my first ever left-right-left-right hoop spinning w/o the hoop falling down. Eventually I got tired and let the hoop fall so now I need to build up my endurance 🙂

Vijit Nayak If it’s very small then you can still do the hand tricks but for waist hooping it just means you would have to tighten your core and give it a try. If it’s only few inches short then I think you would be able to do it. Let me know

Varsha jain Wondering if you have the right size of hoop. Most of the times that’s the problem. When you keep your hoop vertically straight, it should reach your belly button. Does it?
@@Hoopwithsupriya Hey Supriya, does the size of the hoop matter so much that the waist hopping would not be possible at all? Mine is smaller by the length of a finger's size.
Varsha jain By a finger’s size i think it should be doable. It just means you will have to put more effort in going side to side or front and back. The bigger the size the better it is for beginners because hoop rotations take longer allowing the hoop to stay on your waist for long. Hope this helps
