Logan forgetting beast and Charles isn't a sin; that was 70's Logan regaining consciousness after future Logan lost control. 70's Logan hadn't met them.
the sin at 13:27 is inaccurate: in the movie they specifically state that whatever logan does will only affect present day when he is released from being in the past.. so that could potentially mean that all the work he has done could go to waste if the sentinels kill kitty...
"in the movie they specifically state that whatever logan does will only affect present day when he is released from being in the past." That's just stupid.
Hulk: if you go to the past, that past is the present and the present is the past which means you're not changing the present. Nebula: exactly Scott lang: so X-Men days of future's past was bullshit?
No, because in xmen Logan's mind is tranfered to 70's Logan, it's not time travelling. So hist past does not become his present, he was actually in his past
Honestly they should've just sent Logan back to save Kennedy because if they had a MUTANT PRESIDENT then none of this would've happened in the first place
It wasn't metal. That's just a fact. They literally said that in the movie. If the first sentinels weren't made of metal, of course the super advanced sentinels aren't going to be made of metal either. Bit weird for a very specific power like magnetism manipulation (which as far as they know, only one person has), and would cost millions, but they aren't made of metal, that's why he got stabbed.
And the film demonstrates that by showing the exact same scene whenever we cut back to the future... and there's a bunch of shit changing at the same time
@@mrnukes797 Not really. Logan is still connected to the other 2 Wolverine films via the adamantium bullet and Yashida's sword. It's also connected to First Class (Xavier remembering the "go F yourself" moment"), Days of Future Past (Logan is set after the ending), and Apocalypse (Wolverine's blood is collected at the end which is how both Laura and X-24 are created).
Why 10 times? He heard 1.17 minutes of the song in half a second. The time it took the bullets to reach the target. That means he should have heard 150 times faster.
@@tetsuokenpachi yeee, theres a scene where hes being met by wolverine and Charles and his pong machine is sped up, so its likely that he knows how to program his pod like that.
Wolverine didn't know Xavier or Beast back in 1973, he didn't meet them until much later when they were Patrick Stewart and Kelsey Grammer thus when future Wolverine started slipping and 1973 Wolverine started regaining consciousness he had no idea who they were as he hadn't met them yet. Also Singer explained that the time travel in this movie works by nothing changes until the traveler or the observer (in this case Wolverine) snaps back to to his present time and then it then it sets. Wolverine snapped back just after Mystique dropped the gun effectively changing the timeline.
Thank you. I came here to make the same point about the timeline staying the same until Wolverine snapped back but you beat me to it. My original thought with Wolverine freaking out and 'forgetting' who Beast and Xavier were was that it was happening at the same time Stryker was choking on the tazer (so in effect that future timeline was altered), but your explanation is better.
He would wake up not remembering anything during the time the future Wolverine took over. Which is why in Apocalypse, Jean searches his conscious and found a bit of the future Wolverine, which is why you hear Famke Jansen's voice.
Actually Wolverine already had runned into (young) Charles before this time travel thing...Charles track him down and try to recrute him into the c.i.a. sponsored ''G-Men'' on the first class movie. You are right about Beast tho, because they only meet on the second timeline.
Mystique's mutant powers allow her to LOOK like someone else. She can't actually take on the abilities of another mutant, so why the hell can the Sentinals??
demoskunk I always thought this story line was better suited towards Rogue, since she can take on the powers of anybody. But, alas, she was used as the plotline of the first X-Men movie. Which didn't make much sense either...
The movie is terribly flawed and exists only to say that the others don't. But I understand why people are arguing that as not being a flaw, as the whole thing is stupid. You can't just pick and choose which things to ignore. Though, to your credit, that explanation is still a flaw because during the scene he "wakes up" and is sent back to the future...at least partially. Time should have instantly rewrote itself and they would not have been at the temple.
The thing is it 2 different timelines. He is creating a different timeline, while that is happening. So his world is still the same, he woke up in a different timeline.
The past and present really do happen concurrently until Kitty lets go. When she does the new past takes root. That's why they don't converge until she's shot by sentinel in the messed-up future. She actually explains this almost word-for-word at the beginning of the movie.
exactly... seriously, this guy pays attention to every little lame detail, but doesn't pay attention to the most important explanation of the whole film... THAT is a sin!
but what they don't explain is her having that power in the first place... even as a secondary mutation it doesn't make sense, she walks through walls so she can send minds through time? Nope.
Except Jean was killed in X-Men: The Last Stand in that timeline. Scarlet Witch, sure, but I chalk it up to her having already been killed by sentinels.
You put a sin because Magneto didn’t curve the bullet to save JFK in time despite the fact that in the same sentence he says he was stopped midway through moving it.
@@tetsuokenpachi i think they might have had one of those things that stops their powers like in deadpool 2 don't really think so cuz that was in the 60s

Darwin could’ve used a form that can absorb a portion of the energy (such as forest or coral), and then switched to rock to hold through until the energy is gone. That, however, would have taken ALL of his effort. Also, we see that the main reason Darwin died was that he lacked faith in himself. We see him reach out toward Alex (Havok) in an attempt to say goodbye, and that was what sealed his fate. To be fair though, he hadn’t gone through Charles’ training at the time.
There’s one MAJOR PROBLEM with this movie that’s been bugging me for YEARS and I’ve never seen it mentioned before. During the first Sentinel attack, There’s a scene where Blink makes a portal for Warpath so he can hit a Sentinel and then jump back out. He does this, but the Sentinel turns around and stabs Warpath thru the portal before Blink is able to close it. The portal then closes, slicing off the Sentinel’s arm which was still inside. They’ve just shown me that Blink + moderate protection can easily beat the Sentinels shown in the first fight scene. HER PORTALS, WHEN CLOSED WITH PART OF A SENTINEL STILL INSIDE, HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO CLEANLY SLICE THROUGH THE SENTINEL. She could open a portal anywhere underneath / behind a Sentinel and close it while part of the Sentinel is inside, instantly cutting the damn thing in half. Open one under its feet and the other above it’s head, close when it’s fallen halfway in, it gets chopped in two. Heck, she might even be able to do this to the carriers. If she opened one portal in front of a flying carrier, there’s nothing that makes me believe the portal wouldn’t literally carve a hole thru the entire carrier. God forbid if she made both portals in front of a carrier, then the matter going into one portal would be pushed out the other portal, which would also be taking in a similar amount of matter from also going straight thru the carrier... man I don’t even know at that point. I hope someone reads this because it’s been bugging me for years and none of my friends remember this movie. Fuck me.
it has been 4 years, no one ever responded so let me be the one. as it has been said, the sentinels adept and learn abilities.. just like the borg in star trek..and the sentinels are networked. now imagine the sentinels having the ability to create portals bc one learned how to.
Movie can happen bruh and also eric can still get out whenever he wants as he can not only control metal but also create magnetic field iron is also inside his body or charles in future could control every human being or cyclops could kill every sentinel and also storm can hit people with lighting which is way higher than surface temperature of sun and also quick silver can mutilate everyone
There's a few possibilities here to theorize on. The first is that perhaps she doesn't 'intentionally' close the portals, but they have a small window where they remain open and they close automatically, but she probably closes some manually in the movie to disprove that. The second is that, since their fights keep getting retconned every time they're ambushed, in any timeline where she learns this ability, she forgets it when they travel back. The third is that the portal only gains that 'cut' ability at that moment because she had been killed.
ProdiJay True, still they had to kill someone in that scene if only to prove Shaw is a right b*****d and Darwin's mutation was the least spectacular one battle-wise so he drew the shortest straw. Considering they had originally planned a direct sequel to First Class which eventually turned into DoFP they didn't have a reason to keep him alive at the time. Well, hindsight's always 20/20 or so they say
5:40 - The bullets and indeed guns are NOT glass! Glass bullets/guns would shatter instantly upon firing. The bullets here consist of a reinforced plasto-ceramic polymer. The baton isn’t glass either, it’s reinforced perspex. If you’re going to criticise a film for silly exposition or bad continuity at least get the details you’re criticising right.

My question is, where is quicksilver in the future? There's no way he could've died, since he can basically approach the speed of light (being able to slow down time from moving so fast). Seems like he could've been a lot of help in the past and the future.
12:44 The change in the timeline was specifically said not to take effect until the person with the time travel powers, stops using their power on the person who is time travelling.
Hutsalot yeah this train of sins because of this bothered me too. The funny consequence tho...all the dying was utterly pointless. ^^ could have disconnected after Charles talked to Charles, same result or am I missing something?
Blink doesn't need to open a second portal because the the 'second' portal is actually the first still. Its like bending space to appear somewhere so there's a gap.
+itsdastuff Are you saying they have to devote processor time to "mimicking" the nuclear weak and nuclear strong forces? Why would they need to do that? They're robots made of baryonic matter like any other object. "Gravity" also simply doesn't explain this portal power. By what mechanism does she control the position of the portal's exit? Is it decided _before_ she throws the little implosion frisbee? _After_? Is the exit position a natural consequence of the entrance position because she's sensing some kind of gravitic current that has properties she understands? Or is it randomly determined?
X-Men apocalypse was really good but wolverine should have replaced Jennifer Lawrence and he should have had on that comics after costumes just like the rest of the accident also should have been in charge of everything that if ever existed but I wasn't that's why I get to kill my family and go into a paradise because I'm tired and I gave my blood to an ancient fat fetish deity 😁🤗😚😘😚☺️😘😆😄😃😃😀😊😆😁😄😍🤩😛😝😋😜🤪
The one shrapnel Magneto couldn't stop was from a Sentinel, which he cannot controle. Also, past and present co-exist as long as Logan's mind is still in the past. As soon as Kitty disconnects him and Logan awakes, history is altered.
I've actually noticed that they do this quite a lot in movies, where they skip over details they later sin or scenes they skip. I'm assuming this is intentional as it happens quite frequently and my only assumption for this is to be able to give more sins, because they can.
so many sins on this are just him not paying attention to what's been said by the characters. kitty explained the time travel, they showed there were two nixons, Logan can't die from drowning, you can fight a person and still be calm (especially when nothing they do can kill you), sun spot isn't a knock off human torch. he's way more powerful.
snatchadams69 yes the water won't leave his lungs but when you drown it's not the water that kills you. It's the loss of brain cells from lack of oxygen. So when his brain cells start to die, his healing factor will repair and keep them intact. So yeah he can live through drowning
But he still needs oxygen his body can't produce oxygen his healing factor is finite your heart needs oxygen too if you can't inhale your blood can't flow no blood to the brain equals brain dead
snatchadams69 you don't die from lack of blood flow. You die from your brain cells dying. Lack of blood flow just leads to the brain cells dying, but his healing factor will repair them . so he won't be brain dead. That's actually physically impossible for a person with that healing factor. He'd most likely be in like an absent state of mind while under the water. He might be unable to move or know where he's at after some time but he'll be very much alive
What!? If his body is dying his healing factor is useless it was a logic hole plain and simple Logan's healing power can do a lot but it can't stave off drowning...
Logan doesn’t lose his memory during the scene at 9:05. His mind is shredded by the time shift, and it takes him a few minutes to repair his brain. This is why it wasn’t Charles who went back in time.
"You're afraid and Cerebro knows it." X-Men fans know that Cerebro is actually a living being that Xavier keeps trapped in the mansion and is also why the Danger Room is so badass. Hell, it gets loose and tries taking the X-Men out. They should make that movie. X-Men: Cerebro.
I think the worst sin is that in the comics it was Kitty Pryde who went back but in the films they were like, you know what we don't have enough of? Wolverine-centered films, even though 5/6 of the X-Men films have been centred around him!!
Evvie Saunders I get tired of explaining this, but I will do it more cryptically this time. Go and look at the box office returns versus budget of every film that Ellen Page has starred in. Starred as in been the name and face on the theatrical one-sheet. Then look at the box office returns versus budget of Hugh Jackman's films where he has had his name in big bold letters. Jackman has proven he can turn a profit on ~200 million dollar films, if that helps. I do not like it anymore than you do, but studios do not greenlight films unless someone is in front of the camera a lot of the time with a consistent "made profit" resume. That is why Kevin Bacon was in First Class.
It was explained that Kitty Pryde couldn't transfer her consciousness back to the 70s since she wasn't born yet. Besides the movie did a pretty good job of chopping down the wolverine-centric storyline. It was more about Professor X, Magneto and Mystique while Wolverine was more of an advisor. lol
mrmoneybags Plastic then? I mean, they mastered the acrilic to make metal free firearms by that time so, my over-thinketive mind keeps pressing me to defende my point... ( someone as to ''ding'' the ''dingers'', right?)
I'm gonna have to sin you for stealing the "Who watches the watchmen" bit from Watchmen (DING), but then remove it because...reasons; and because it was clever (GNID).
It's actually a phrase thousands of years old. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? is a Latin phrase found in the work of the Roman poet Juvenal from his Satires (Satire VI, lines 347-8). It is literally translated as "Who will guard the guards themselves?", though it is also known by variant translations.
You can remove half these sins by realising that whenever Kitty (I think that's her name) uses her time travel power she actually creates a new timeline (otherwise you run in to obvious paradoxes that's I'm surprised weren't mentioned in this video). That's does make her by far the most powerful mutant (she creates universes) but it also means that the Charles and Magneto and gang that we knew for the first few movies still die by the sentinels, it's just that the story now follows a different time line.
I don't see how it creates new universes. She sends people back in time and when she brings them back the effects of the people she had sent back are put into motion and the previous timeline is erased
Akaakaaka ak okay fine you have a point time travel creates a new timeline but it dissolves the old timeline and her powers aren't that extreme because she usually only sends people back a couple days
Have you not seen the one where they sin themselves? They do these for comedy not because they necessarily think these things actually detract from the movie.
Agree, while Wolverine can't change anything under the sea, going by the time travel rules of this movie the old timeline does not cease to exist until Kitty stops using her mind power, so while Wolverine is underwater, technically he is still time -traveling, and if someone ot it him out of water he could continue changing the timeline as long as Kitty doesn't let go, so it's not a plothole
Hey, just wanted to say that the scene with Quicksilver running in slow motion with the music actually could make sense. The music is running at an accelerated speed, to keep up with how fast he's able to move. So if we were to hear it at normal time, it'd be super sped up. But because everything is slowed down, the music sounds as if it's normal!
Really? The guy runs fast enough that seeing him running in slow-motion (regular slow-motion, mind you, not super-slow-motion) means seeing bullets barely moving at all. He did NOT modify his tape player to play music at that speed. Not with the technology available in 1973.
Chris Merkel Studios he accelerated that pong game, is that hard to believe he also accelerated his music player? they have glass/plastic guns, dna detection tech, fucking ROBOTS, and a bunch more but fast forwarding a music player is too much for you? Update: "Not with the technology available in 1973." really? they had fucking working robots that could motherfucking fly, a music player that can fast forward isnt much of stretch of the imagination is it?
Chris Merkel Studios No BLG is right. It's because all motion is relative. Quicksilver, when viewed from his own inertial frame of reference, is moving at a "normal" speed and consequently the tape player which is in the same inertial frame will run at the "normal" speed relative to him. It has nothing to do with the tape player, it's physics...it's not supposed to make too much sense haha ;)
The way i see it, is that the music is actually going really slow, but they put it in as background music for the movie to make the scene funnier. I dont actually think that quicksilver hears the music as it goes at that time. Maybe he puts the headphones on because sound is fucked up when he's moving that fast. As Quicksilver's power isnt really moving fast, as he perceives time way slower than everyone else.
1. So Xavier, Beast and Wolverine helped Magneto escape from Pentagon and were partially responsible for all the mayhem he caused, but they get no repercussions what so ever? They'd be rotting in jail for all eternity! 2. If Magneto put metal inside the robots, he could only control their movement, not make them his slaves and give them orders. 3. A continuous tension between humans and mutants grows into an apocalyptic war. But when a bunch of mutants cause panic around the world, invade a political meeting, drop a stadium on the White House and threaten to kill the US president, it somehow stops any attempts of the government to eliminate or control them. 4. How the hell is Xavier alive? 5. Why did they need Magneto? 6. Magneto said the tried to save Kennedy. But if the bullet trajectory was visibly curved, it would mean that it would have gone in a completely different way if he hadn't controlled it.
these are the ones i know the answer to 3.ONE mutant threatend the president but 4 saved him. it would be wrong to judge an entire group on one bad egg. 4. Xavier had a twin brother who was born in a brain dead coma thanks to his powers, before he died Xavier transferred his mind into his brothers body 5. mystique would be more likely to listen to them if both Xavier AND magneto told her to stop. 6. magneto was tackled to the ground before he could fully deflect the bullet.he wouldn't have killed Kennedy on purpose since he was also a mutant with the power of Tacto-Hypnosis
Where your other comments are concrete, I'd like to point out you obviously don't read the comics. Because if you did it would explain why Xavier can be alive.
You forgot to mention that adding all that metal inside the robots, would shoot their flight characteristics to hell and back. Oh and what the fuck were those things? Plastic Ironman copies?
alternifeind15 I'm talking about movies, not comics. If you have to read several comic books to understand a plot, there's something wrong with the movie.
There was a theory video on this that the headphone things made an air pocket in his ears that traveled at the same speed as him when it was moving with him and all that
If Mystique was actually the one who pulled Wolverine from the river at the end of this movie, then how the fuck did he end up in Stryker's base in Xmen Apocalypse?

I am going to go out on a limb and say that she can alter her skin at the phenotypic level with some sort of shapeshifting ability. 75. It is not that hard to figure out where she would be. 104. As mentioned earlier, that tech is not easy to perfect and governments always keep secrets. 105. Many of those exits are made of concrete which easily falls apart when dropped from the air with the weight of a stadium above them to add additional pressure. 111. It would add precious seconds. What, would attacking them or standing still have been a better option? I have already knocked off 14 sins, we are down to 118. I love messing things up.
TickedOff Priest yeah but their powers are both related to fire that's pretty much it. Sun Spot takes his energy from the sun and gains super strength, the ability to fly, becomes engulfed in flames, and can produce fire. Pyro can't create fire but can manipulate it and that's it.
You know, Quicksilver only uses the headphones as ear protectors and maybe he sped up his music after realizing its too slow for him thus the same speed as him
I think that too but if this was real-tea, how would the music player know exactly when to speed up the music? Even if he just used a button, if you listen to music that was made to be sped up, it doesn't sound the same due to sound artifacts and the speaker limitations. Try speeding up some music, then recording it fast, then slowing down the recording. It sounds weird.
3:16 I've read that in First Class they had multiple takes where Hugh said "Fuck Off". And then in one of them he changed that to "go fuck yourself" without Fassbender and McAvoy knowing blah blah blah... they editor fucked up.
It still makes sense in-universe... I mean, how is Charles supposed to remember a single line word-by-word, heard some ten years ago from someone he hasn't had any interactions with until now? It's a wonder he actually remembered Wolverine at all as well as his general attitude. Maybe I'm weird but personally I don't think I would be able to remember someone I interacted with so briefly after ten years.
let's also not forget the fact that Charles was pretty out of it, he was drinking, and using weird medicine to surpress his powers, and he was just overall emotionally exhausted, so it's not that he wasn't accurate...maybe he just didn't care enough to be accurate?
Adding to that (in-universe), "Go fuck yourself" is more American - and I guess Canadian - slang. Isn't "Fuck off" more British slang? Charles might have remembered the general tone of the meeting and that Logan cursed at them. He just auto-corrected the curse for British slang.
They both mean the same thing. They just phrased it differently. Plus it's been like however many years so why would Charles recall exactly what he said
Nelson Summerfield That's one thing you had in common with the director. The rest of us actually liked Azazel. He has the coolest scene in any of the movies. (the attack on CIA Headquarters) And he's also kinda important because he's NIGHTCRAWLER'S FATHER. when Vaughn was still set to direct, we were going to see Mystique and Azazel become an item. But with Synger back on board, he just killed him off offscreen so he could have her want to fuck Magneto. Most of us thought it was kinda lame. Awesome that you're too cool to care ;)
When Magneto wanted to kill Mystique, he didn't think about how that would just defeat the purpose bc he would have had to clean up the blood and take her dead body w him or else the scientist would find her dead body/bloody mess and then experiment on her therefore making the sentinels more advanced.... So yeah major sin. I'm surprised you didn't talk about that.
***** he could have waited until they safely escaped and shot her then. If he killed her then and there he would have made sure blood droplets weren't there, and have had to lug her body around. That would have slowed him down and increase their chance of getting caught
***** yeah a stadium w metal components which mystique is not made out of. But yeah generally they needed more than her blood to technologically advance
You yell "Narration!" when watching a movie with people? Just in private dwellings or in theaters as well? Either way, it's a strange thing to do. You're strange and deserve strange looks.
see that's an actual sin, an error in continuity and historical reference... CinemaSins focuses way too much on forced jokes that have nothing to do with the actual "sins" of a movie.
Mike Lau : So if it was in Cold War (classified) development, why were the military leaders from all around the world nodding their heads as though they knew what it was? A simple google search would inform you on the secret nature of the Cold War arms race.
@@patmooney1407 Another search would then tell you that the first generation of Harrier jets was RECEIVED by the USMC in 1971. I should hope that military leaders would know about a jet they already purchased and received two flipping years ago. They would continue to receive more first gen Harriers all the way until 1976. These are all American military leaders, last time I checked military leaders from around the world aren't welcome at American congressional hearings. So your secret nature of the arms race means jack shit.
I kind of feel you picked on some things that were explained and missed some big ones that weren't. Like, if Logan wakes up in his body in the future, wouldn't that be kind of sad for the Logan who was inhabiting his body all those years? Actually, since all the other characters in the future just disappeared due to the change in time continuum, woudn't Logan just continue in the 1973 reality, the only question being which Logan consciousness was left inhabiting the body?
It seems like a Dragonball Z thing, where the Future Logan timeline is probably still real, and he just swapped the canon over to one that sucks less. And stole hs counterpart's place in it. Presumably becoming either brain-dead or swapping places with the one who had been living there. Though if brains morophlogically store information, I assume Prof. X can just poke his mind in the right spots and revive all of the current canon's memories.
It would make more sense - seeing as new Logan creates as new timeline - if they went back to Logan from when he first got their and showed the scene from when he first arrived but different to show that its the actual 80's Logan. Then ethier have 2020's Logan ethier dissappear and re-enter his body in the modern day. Or show him escaping which would confirm weather or not he had to relive through the 50 years.
My problem is that Wolverine had his metal claws way before 1972. Stryker was a lot older by then. This movie also shows that Wolverine without his claws is pretty much worthless.
The first X-men came out in the year 2000. By then Wolverine had lost his memory by fifteen years. That means he lost his memory around the year 1985 (maybe earlier, but only by a few years), right after he got his metal claws. The comics time periods don't matter in the movies, since they don't make sense in terms of age and time of setting. In X-2, Stryker would've been in his mid fifties or older since that took place right after the first X-men movie, meaning still in time period of 2000-2001. If he were a lot older in 1972, he would've been a lot older in X-2 as well. So in movie canon, Wolverine wouldn't have had his metal claws, and Stryker would've been in his early to mid twenties to make the other movies make sense, right before they were erased from canon. Also wolverine is useless against Magneto, with or without his claws.
I like that Wolverine has to be more of a teacher because it's a good arc....but yeah they should have just had him wake up with adamantium claws and keep them in happy epilogue land. Xmen has always been about bittersweet endings.......this one just felt like someone pressed the Staples button.
Luis Villalobos Wasn't it the Vietnam War that Stryker found Wolverine and his brother? And wasn't he a lot older looking in that movie than in this one? And wasn't the Vietnam War in the 60s, not the seventies? Forgive me if I'm wrong here. So, therefore, the Xmen timeline is all sorts of fucked up and trying to make sense of it is as useless as Wolverine against Magneto.
TheTadpoie The vietnam war started in the sixties and ended in the year 1975. Stryker took wolverine on a mission after finding him in that time period. Six years after that mission, Stryker then had Wolverine get the adamantium claws. So the latest possible date for Wolverine to get his adamantium claws would be 1981 (at least in terms of X-men origins: Wolverine) and while Stryker looks old at the beginning, the only thing that makes sense for him to look that old in that movie after X-men days of future past is stress. Stress makes you look older, especially if you have enough of it. Of course, that's only if you care about X-men origins: Wolverine, and most people don't, so it's not surprising if they left that movie out.
Some of the points are moot for this reason: It's stated that the two timelines do exist concurrently until Kitty brings Logan back. Only then does the altered timeline become the actual timeline. Also, Logan's healing factor kept him alive.
+Aster Dan How does she bring him back? The Kitty that is sending him back would cease to exist when he wakes up and therefore couldn't be the one that brings him back. Paradox.
AP Bikini Team I think because they are existing concurrently, then she can still bring him back. It's not until she does that she and that timeline cease to exist.
AP Bikini Team That's how it worked in the comics, except it wasn't Kitty who sent people back in time. Actually, in the comics Kitty was the one who sent people back in time.
Actually, when Charles said "I'm going to say to you what you said to us then" or whatever (3:13), In First Class, Wolverine was actually supposed to say "f* off" which is what Charles says here- Hugh Jackman just improvised the "go f* yourself" instead in that one shot. (Btw the other two's reactions in that shot were genuine reactions to him not saying the right line)
Ok ok... That was not Human Torch bud, that is Sunspot. People have been asking for him to be in an X-Men movie for awhile so Bryan included him. Also whether or not the Sentinels being similar to Thor's Executioner isn't really what Bryan was trying to throw back to. The only thing he copied from the Executioner was its concussive laser beam. Other than that the Sentinel idea is completely original. Also yes Quicksilver can be listening to that song at that speed. The only time he listens to music is when he's using his powers so he could just use some computer program to make the music on his music player play faster. Much faster. Either way it is possible to do, it'd be difficult considering it's the 70s but Quicksilver has a lot more time to do things than regular people, I'm sure he'd be able to pull off anything he can think of.
Of course it's not the Human Torch. That's why he said it was a discount Human Torch. It means that they are basically the same person but with different names.
rabbit91210 Sunspot well he would be pretty useless at night since his whole power set uses solar energy to power himself. He's also pretty different from the Human Torch since he appears as this humanoid black mass of darkmatter when using his powers. Which are basically enhanced strength and the ability to channel heat and infrared radiation. So he's pretty much not accurate at all.
I won't argue that this movie had some plot holes and some of the characters made some weird choices. However, I will argue against a few of the Sins that were counted here. Sin #7: The girl (think her name is Blink) is not TRYING to escape the facility. She and the others are simply buying time while Kitty and the other guy finish their time-travel thing in the back room. Sin #28: They already told you that the first person that Mystique ever kills is Trask, so her NOT killing Striker shouldn't be all that surprising. Sin #31: It's not that surprising that Xavier wouldn't remember the exact phrasing that Wolverine used during their one short encounter several years before. Sin #64: The music you hear in this scene is most likely just background music, not the music that Quicksilver is actually listening to in his headphones. Otherwise, the music would be playing in slow-mo just like all the other people in this scene are moving. Sin #63: It's not that weird for the guy who can manipulate metal to suggest that Wolverine would be improved by metal claws. Sin #74: Magneto was aiming for a kill shot on Mystique, not her leg. He can control the bullet when it is out of his sight, but not perfectly because he didn't know exactly where Mystique was going to fall to. Sin #77: Original-timeline-Wolverine may have forgotten Xavier, since they had only one encounter previously. And I'm pretty sure that he had never seen Beast in beast form before now (I admit my memory of the First Class movie is a bit hazy and I might be wrong, but I'm fairly sure about this). Sin #118 & 126: As they explained at the beginning of the movie, NONE of the effects of changing history will actually go into effect until present-day-Wolverine wakes up from his time travelling adventure. Until that happens, yes, the Sentinels still exist and would still be attacking the mutants. Also, none of the present-day-mutants will remember the original history timeline except Wolverine. (Although weirdly, Wolverine appears to remember ONLY the original history timeline at the end of the movie and is completely confused by the new history timeline, even though presumably he had been living through it from 1970-something to 2020-something.)
Sin #25: Lapdances serve no purpose but to make you look like a sex-crazed moron, so drop the joke already. It wasn't funny before, it's not funny now, and it'll never be funny.
***** I was talking about lapdances in general when I said they make people look like morons, not so much the joke itself. And I do, in fact, have a sense of humor; it just doesn't register that type of "humor".
x men apocalypse builds up so much on but then falls down to a pile of cliches, future past was s much better. you're gonna sin a fuckton on that movie lol
haha you watched it too? I had so much high hopes on that one but then the ending was like, ramming down the sudden phoenix power from jean down our throats.lol no explanation haha
祁堂隼斗 I know! The defeat just happened so suddenly and then suddenly op Jean powers, lol. It's great that they are going so far away from what they did before in the old x-men episodes, where Jean only did phoenix stuff much much older. Of course, Since we saw Wolverine meet a bunch of them alive in the future, this supposed future, we already knew many mutants who would not die during this. So Jean must re-gain control of everything before the time Wolverine got back ect. xD
+Gorem actually the timeline changed after dofp, creating a timeline where everyone was alive in the future and an alternate one where Xmen Apocalypse happened. So its not set in stone that scott, jean, beast, xavier, etc. might survive
Huzaifa Idrees Interesting. Well, I definitely am looking forward to some more X-men stuff though. Just that....oh, and I also had to laugh when Wolverine came on screen, he basically looked like an old man who hasn't heard of Gilette and I lost it when he ran into the woods half naked. God if someone shot a video of some hairy half naked dude running like crazy in the snowy woods, it'd definitely be on youtube under funny videos lol So many good actors but I felt their looks and skills were wasted :/ hope they do better next time :)
6:12 You clearly haven’t heard of “safety glass” The glass is designed to shatter into small chunks rather than shards. This means that they are very likely to just bounce of a person.
They literally ignored half of X3. So somehow not only is Professor X still alive, but now Magnetos powers are back. But Jean and Scott are still dead. And Wolverine is surprised that Professor X is alive at the end in the present when he saw him in the future?? It's like the end of the 2nd and the entire 3rd movie never happened.
X-3 never happened. Erik had his powers back at the end of X-3. People come back all the time in comic book franchises. Charles probably called in a favor from his Shi'ar lady friend to get him a phoenix down.
A thing about Quicksilver that neither movie illustrates: He's not the Flash; he doesn't just turn his super-speed ON and OFF. For him, life is always moving absurdly slow, and it's a huge effort for him to tolerate, learn patience, and slow down enough to interact with others. At least, that's how it is in the comics. Which explains why he's such a hothead. Both movie versions of Pietro are more likeable than the comics version.
I think x3 needs to be watch despite how bad it is compare to x1 and x2 but I would bring clarity to The Wolverine movie. Xmen orgins can be skipped . Consider that a Alternate universe if one is curious to watch it. The only blessing Orgins brought us is a better Wolverine solo film and Deadpool done right.
CazRaX They actually do cause the movies are BASED OFF THE COMICS so they basically need to be as close to them as they can which means the powers have to be as close or basically are like what is seen in the comics.
Goleon No, cause a lot of people who see the X-men movies don't read the comics. So it's absurd to have to read all the comics to explain plot holes and shit. Movies that are based off of books are made with that in mind, the movie has to make sense within its own universe.
CazRaX They offer a insight that explains why many of these are not sins and are bound to not only Marvel logic, but real world logic. Sincerely, Marvel Fans and CinemaSins Fans
It wasn't that the Sentinels copied her shape-shifting powers, it's that Mystique's DNA contained the key to mutation itself and through that Trask industries managed to eventually build Sentinels (the ones in the future) that are able to analyze and adapt to any mutant power.
How did her ability contain the key to mutation when she can only copy. It would make more sense for rogue to have been the source of the discovery seeing as she can take other mutants abilities away and use them.
jay wood They key to that ability was actuallywhen they capture Rogue, they were going to use that as an explanation in the movie but they cutted Rogue's part off without much explanation.
jay wood Well.....due to time they kind of cut Rogue's scenes out of the movie. But in the cut scenes Rogue was being held captive so it's not too much of a stretch to think that they used her DNA to add that ability.
Logan’s in a completely separate timeline from both the Original and Revised timelines. In Logan, he says ”There hasn't been a mutant born in 25 years.” Logan takes place in 2029 and the revised, happy ending of this movie takes place in 2023, so if what Logan’s saying is correct, when he wakes up in this movie all of the kids he sees should be no younger than 19 years old... But they're not. It also confirms on the Marvel wiki that Logan’s in it's own timeline. Sorry for rambling! Lol
9:00 dude, that's the 70s version of wolverine without the conscience of wolverine from the future. Last thing he would remember would be sleeping with that chick we see at the beginning.
Mystique totally misunderstands men if she thinks turning blue makes her unattractive - banging hot alien-looking chicks is pretty much the sole motivator for all human technological progress - each minor accomplishment brings us just one step closer to becoming Captain Kirk. Mystique's true form is more desirable (in part due to rarity, but also because she's just hot) than any human woman :)
Yvaelle I never could figure out WHY she's naked... I mean, apart from regular societal conventions (not just western, even in the most primitive tribes peope almost never go totally buck naked), what about cold? Or sharp gravel, or hot sidewalks?
***** The only conclusion is that she wants to be. She could be blue in a suit if she wanted to be - she seems to be able to not just shift her skin/shape, but also match anyone's outfit at any time - so there should be no reason she can't summon up a ball gown if she wants, while reverting back to her natural skin. I have to assume that a) it's more comfortable in her true form, and b) she likes freaking people out with her naked hot blueness.
Yvaelle I think that she is naked because: if she was wearing something, then her shapeshifter abilities would be crippled (turning in stryker with the uniform and all under a real skirt or whatever?), and she don't go around with a shifted suit because it would be a waste of energy (as stated in first class about her going always around like a normal person)... of course she could go with an easy to remove trench... but fuck it.. Btw, she's hot in her blue form, plus all the roleplay fun you can have? When Trask says: I want her, for research purposes of course. Everyone in that room thought "yeah, sure, research"
I like your videos a lot but, this one was kinda bad. Some sins are explained decently if you pay attention. like the one scrap metal piece that hit magneto. lol
Guys, the movie doesn't make sense. As usual they've picked on a few sins that have valid explanations, but none of the mechanics of this movie make any sense at all, not even "comic book sense." It's a big, flashy mess that successfully distracted you from its very many plot holes.
Friend, it's not that it's hard to understand. It's that it's total nonsense. Nothing that happened in the 70s would have QUELLED mutant hatred. Magneto moving that stadium, Mystique's public assassination attempt. Oh but she didn't pull the trigger, so hooray for these terrifying gods who walk among us! There is not a shred of sensitivity to cause-and-effect relationships (which is the ultimate sin in a time travel movie). The only explanation for why The Last Stand was undone is that "something" changed in the past, not anything specific and not anything that would have a logical impact on things like, for example, the ending of X2 where Jean dies. Did THAT movie even happen? If so, why didn't Jean sacrifice herself at the end? What the hell happened in 1975 that made X2 still happen just like we saw it but without the sacrifice that led to the X3 Phoenix stuff? It. Makes. No. Sense. You're allowed to like this flashy nonsense, but there is no way to draw any logical connections between what they supposedly changed in the past and how it affected the original trilogy.
I think the fact, that history changed as Raven decided not to kill Trask, is because Rogue stopped sending Wolverine back, because she was being killed in this moment. And they said, as soon as they stop sending him back, everything that happens becomes history
Well it doesn't have to be "bad knowledge of the universe". He might know a lot about the x-men but he always says that he just talks about the movies. So everything the movies don't explain is a sin. Doesn't matter if the comics have a better explanation. =) If he'd include the comic explantations, he could just count the whole movie as one big sin, since the comics are always better, if you ask me x3
Stift chan Exactly. The only sin that was actually explained was why mystiques decision only changed the future right at the end. Kitty said that the changes kick in the moment Wolverine wakes up. That opens a whole new can of "then they could have..." arguments, but I guess they got that one thing right at least.^^
TheThoerlChannel Actually there were a lot of little things like this. For instance, when Magneto gets wounded by a fragment, you can clearly see a piece of Sentinel's scales on it, meaning it's not metal. Or why would you rant about Blink's portals? The movie establishes it's characters' powers, not your wish. Maybe she's just faster at opening portals where she can see the exit, or maybe the temple has only one floor, or maybe she doesn't know what is happening on the other floors and doesn't want to accidentally send a sentinel behind her friend's back? And other couple dozen of those sins can be shattered by the same logic.
So did no one else wonder how they got the re-bar out of Wolverine when they hauled him out of the river? I mean come on, that stuff was buried in him pretty good, probably wrapped around bones and everything. Then when they pull him out of the river it's all magically pulled out? Um...no...lol. For some reason that really ruined the suspension of disbelief for me... :\
Suspension of belief. Okay . This is a movie about people who genetically obtain supernatural powers and can do pretty much anything. With time travelling.
Steve Corona No, I get that. The movie was enjoyable. But, as a filmmaker myself, it's usually the little things that bother me more. And this particular instance really just stuck out to me.
Especially when you consider that Mistique can only take the form and not the powers. If she transforms into wolverine she doesn't actually have his claws it just looks that way. It would NEED the DNA of someone like Darwin or Rogue (which I believe was in the comics) for these things to work the way they do.
+Cody Hines Honestly, the entire way they portray Magneto's abilities in the movies is just stupid in its entirety. Critical thing the movie's ignore about his abilities. He doesn't just control metals. He manipulates magnetic fields. Which are present in literally everything, right down to the molecular level. He's done everything from changing the chemical compositions of objects to firing EMP and photon blasts to warping the magnetic field of the _entire planet_. In my mind, that's always been the actual sin with his powers in the movies.
Cody Hines So there? I was just saying they got it wrong from the source material's angle too. Wasn't trying to steal your thunder or argue against your point.
I actually really like Days of Future Past. I believe the way it affects the timelines is that it actually creates another timeline, but that we start seeing that timeline at First Class. First Class doesn't actually lead to the first three movies, ever, there's a past we never see (except for Origins: Wolverine) that leads to the first three films. This is reinforced by Deadpool, as Colossus and Deadpool are different from their counterparts in the original trilogy and Origins: Wolverine.
CinemaSins Hard to say pound for pound First Class was better than Days of Future Past. First Class had more corny meaningless scenes and plot points than DoFP by a long shot. Both were good movies overall though.
I can think of a few more sins. 1. Mystique would definitely be injured or dead from jumping out that high a window. 2. Magneto is a dick for waiting until after Wolverine cuts Kitty before using his powers to restrain him. 3. In Paris you can apparently go into a hospital and be treated for a gunshot wound without having to explain how you got it in the first place. 4. Also, nurse doesn't suspect that the patient she's treating might be Mystique despite having a gunshot wound in the exact same place. 5. Sentinel weapons are loaded with live rounds for what is supposed to be a mere publicity stunt. 6. Mystique's plan to shoot Magneto relied on the Sentinel distracting him that she couldn't have anticipated, so she somehow expected to be able to draw her concealed pistol and shoot before being gunned down by the pistol he already had pointed at her. 7. Movie undercuts the stakes of X-Men: Apocalypse by giving us an epilogue that shows all characters alive and well.
1. True but Mystique has enhance physical attributes (strength, speed, agility, and reflexes), than that of a regular human. She also has accelerating healing but not as strong as Wolverines. 2.Agree and Disagree. I don't think she was expecting to shoot Magneto, because she only wanted to kill Trask she didn't want to hurt anyone else. So when Magneto was threatening to kill everyone I think she was prepare to sacrifice herself. Causing to have maybe a breakdown that he actually killed one of his own kind or something like that. But at the same time I don't think she was planning on sacrificing herself either. So its a little confusing but I don't think it was that big of a deal.
Jaime Mora 1. But she does not have unbreakable bones, which you would need to fall from that high and land on solid ground with no injuries. 2. She had a concealed plastic gun, what was she going to do with it if not shoot Magneto, and it is certainly not in her character to sacrifice herself for people she despises.
***** They have already occurred in the epilogue, and the epilogue shows us that no important characters died during the events of Apocalypse, otherwise they wouldn't be there. Thus this movie's epilogue kills any suspense we might have by letting us know the X-Men won and took no casualties.
ZShogan 2. That's actually incorrect. It is very easy to miss but she never had a plastic gun to begging with she only got it seconds before Magneto pull the metal bunker out of the White house. When everyone goes inside the bunker and the mutant detector goes off she pulls out a metallic gun. When Magneto uses his powers all of the guns including hers when up to the ceiling expect for Strikers who pulls out the plastic gun, which is the gun she uses to shoot Magneto.
well technically you could have an electrical mechanism without metal and an elevator. Instead of using metal they would use metalloids, substances that resemble some of metal's properties such as conductivity. Therefore, it's possible to use metalloids in the place of metal.
Yes! Like graphite. Tho there is the problem that they are bad conductors. The bigger sin is that a guy killed the president and people believe that he would be still just prisoned. Fucker would be shot without a hearing.
Okay, so this cinemas in she is two years old by my message. So in anticipation of Logan coming out this year, I have this question. If the Silver Samurai cut half of Logan's adamantium claws off on both hands, how did Wolverine get both sets of claws adamantium restored between The Wolverine, and X-Men Days of Future Past?
Magneto helped him in that department. The scene in X2 where he sucks the iron out of the security guard's body gives us an idea on how he helped Wolverine.
What annoyed me most about this film (and many other time travel movies) is that when Wolverine returned to the future at the end of the film, he permanently overwrote the alternate timeline version of himself. So in a way, he killed that alternate version of himself.
"Killed" is kind of a harsh word, don't you think? It's still the same person and he's still alive ... just in vastly different circumstances than before. Another thought: 2013 you-&-me don't exist, but 2014 you-&-me are having this discussion. We didn't kill them, they simply don't exist any more. We replaced them as they became us.
Άλκης Δ. For simplicity, let's call the Wolverine of the first timeline "Primary" and Wolverine of the second timeline "Secondary". This is how I think of things: When Primary got sent back in time, it wasn't just the memories that were sent back, it was his consciousness as well. For the duration Primary was back there, Secondary was blocked out. "Put on hold," if you wish. After Primary, near the end of the film, goes back to the future, he goes to the future of the second timeline, as opposed to the timeline he came from. When Secondary returns to control of his body (still in -73), he goes on to live the subsequent years in a different way, having his own unique experiences. Then comes the point that Primary "returns" to. Again, it's not just the memories being changed - it's the consciousness as well. However, since Secondary's consciousness will now never come back, he is for all intents and purposes dead.
Huitzilopochtli Yep, so essentially well-liked-history-teacher Logan is replaced by angsty-sad-sack Logan. And for some reason Xavier welcomes this with a huge grin. Weird.
Huitzilopochtli From my POV - and, I would argue, from Logan's POV as well - Logan's consciousness experiences time passing linearly, as time travellers do in most movies. What I mean is that he doesn't gain the memories of the new timeline. You see that in movies like Looper were the younger versions of the loopers use knives to carve messages on their limbs. Normally the older versions should remember having done that and also having had these scars for decades. What happens, however, is that the older loopers gain the scars about the same time the younger versions carve them ... which is buillshit. In _Days of Future Past_ I think it works like in _The Butterfly Effect_: '70s Logan is blacked out while 2010s Logan's consciousness occupies his body. Then again, the guy in _The Butterfly Effect_ at least remembered the blackouts, but Logan doesn't. Anyway, what I'm getting at is that his might be the only consciousness which moves linearly through time. Everyone else was erased as history was rewritten. They now have no memory of the previous timeline as Logan has no memory of the current timeline. So, I agree that those "versions" of everyone got erased, but no one was killed. They were re-written along with history.
dpchiko17 Oh, yeah, it absolutely ruins a movie when some people are shipping some of the characters. First of all, not all people who ship things even have tumblr. Also, if you don't like it, you can easily ignore it. And, in the case you didn't know, even James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender ship it.
The guns are made of plastic, not glass. Also there is a video on the Nerdist channel that explains that Quicksilver's music running at his speed is theoretically possible. Long story short, imagine being in a spaceship flying at light speed, your music would still sound normal to you. Really the scientific inaccuracy in that scene is that he wouldn't be able to touch anyone or anything without hurting himself or others because of the sheer force with which he would collide with them.
Heat is the result of molecules moving really fast. Long story short, the heat produced by him running at top speed would kill anything he ran by. He wouldn't even have to touch them to kill them, but I guess science doesn't exist in the x men universe
+Pierre Stribling oh shit, you're right, didn't think about that! Still it is fun to speculate about these kinds of things. My interest in science came out of my love of comics as a kid.
That’s not possible because he’s literally moving faster than the streaming speed of his iPod. Which means that he would have done of all that within like one word of the song. If you’re in a space ship and music is playing, you’re not moving faster than the streaming speed so the music will play normally. No way a whole song can play within the time frame of a gun being fired.
Actually no. When you are in the future you have a definite past. They does not occur simultaneously. Yea by choosing different you will belong to another time line but the other timelines will not be effected by the choice. That means in the future where Sentinals killed the mutant race will definitely happen so will the happy ending. Also a paradox will occur like every other time travelling movies. Logan needs to go back in time to reunite Eric and Charles so that they can stop Mystique from killing Trask. They succeed and Logan is back to the future again. Now there is no Sentials so Logan does not need to go back in time. As Logan does not need to go back in time, Charles and Eric never reunited. Mystique killed Trask. Sentinals were created and now Logan needs to go back in time to change the past.
Crazy how literally everyone loves the quicksilver scenes the best
How is that crazy?
It's because Evan Peters is a sexy beast
Yuppp to all that
Literally every time this movie is brought up in a conversation I’m having, the person will say how much they love Quicksilvers scenes.

“The bullet curved in the air”
Must have been James McAvoy from Wanted who fired it.
Oh my God. I'm surprised no one else knows this
You would be great at CinemaSins

ah yes, a man of culture
Literaly what I thought when I saw that scene 😂
Logan forgetting beast and Charles isn't a sin; that was 70's Logan regaining consciousness after future Logan lost control. 70's Logan hadn't met them.
How did he regain consciousness without the link between them cutting, therefore ending the entire movie...
Thank you!
@@tetsuokenpachi He was only hopping between the timelines, and as he calmed down the links fixed themselves and he was back in 1973
Actually, 70's Logan did meet Charles in First Class. That's why Charles had to remind future Logan of how he told him to "go fuck himself".
loudboy317 he didn’t look at them. He was facing the bar
the sin at 13:27 is inaccurate: in the movie they specifically state that whatever logan does will only affect present day when he is released from being in the past.. so that could potentially mean that all the work he has done could go to waste if the sentinels kill kitty...
But wouldn't that wake him up? I mean, he's almost immortal.
Marcelina Romero he is immortal by definition.
Pretty much all of the sins are his own jokes and inaccurate
No. The movie's inaccurate because things still change as it goes along so fuck that movie.
"in the movie they specifically state that whatever logan does will only affect present day when he is released from being in the past."
That's just stupid.
I actually really like the actors that play the younger Professor X and Magneeto

Yes, it does explicitly say he's Jewish: he has the gold star on his chest. Anyway, what does "Jewish" look like?

and yet through ingenious interbreeding with others we come in all shapes and sizes

Goddamn it you made me go back and check Endgame to see if he actually said X-men, only to remember he said Back To The Future
It would've been so much awesome if Lang actually had said that for X-Men DOFP! Completely annihilating.
D.arne OOOOF
Rishujeet Rai but then it wouldn’t be possible for the xmen to be in the mcu.
No, because in xmen Logan's mind is tranfered to 70's Logan, it's not time travelling. So hist past does not become his present, he was actually in his past

Aaron Bradley yeah it was a sentinel shrapnel, wasn't made of metal
It wasn't metal. That's just a fact. They literally said that in the movie. If the first sentinels weren't made of metal, of course the super advanced sentinels aren't going to be made of metal either. Bit weird for a very specific power like magnetism manipulation (which as far as they know, only one person has), and would cost millions, but they aren't made of metal, that's why he got stabbed.
Yeah they said in the film that the Sentinels were made from a space-age polymer that was non-metallic
@@masonmurphy2679 Even the first sentinels don't have metal because of magneto. If the future sentinels had metal than couldn't he just kill them??
Actually kitty says that the future wont change until they bring wolverine back and the past and future will coexist until then
And the film demonstrates that by showing the exact same scene whenever we cut back to the future... and there's a bunch of shit changing at the same time
Yup, makes no sense at all
When Wolverine was thrown in the river, the X-Men could have all gotten killed then and the future would have been the same.

Not really. Logan is still connected to the other 2 Wolverine films via the adamantium bullet and Yashida's sword. Could you do that back then? On analog cassetes? When you're a teenager living in a basement???
Wait, does he also change the speed at which he records to match his own changes of speed?? In advance???
Why 10 times? He heard 1.17 minutes of the song in half a second. The time it took the bullets to reach the target. That means he should have heard 150 times faster.
10 times more like 9999 times
I'd also like to add that when he asks where the real Nixon is, the very next scene shows the real Nixon.
Doesn't that mean that the Wolverine in 1973 would like 'wake up' and be counfused as fuck? Wouldn't that maybe effect the future in some way?
He would wake up not remembering anything during the time the future Wolverine took over. Which is why in Apocalypse, Jean searches his conscious and found a bit of the future Wolverine, which is why you hear Famke Jansen's voice.
Actually Wolverine already had runned into (young) Charles before this time travel thing...Charles track him down and try to recrute him into the c.i.a. sponsored ''G-Men'' on the first class movie. You are right about Beast tho, because they only meet on the second timeline.
Mystique's mutant powers allow her to LOOK like someone else. She can't actually take on the abilities of another mutant, so why the hell can the Sentinals??
demoskunk thats what I am saying I was could never get passed that concept.
demoskunk I always thought this story line was better suited towards Rogue, since she can take on the powers of anybody. But, alas, she was used as the plotline of the first X-Men movie. Which didn't make much sense either...
demoskunk It's shown in a deleted scene that Rogue was also kidnapped and they used her power to take other mutant powers to create the Sentinals.
demoskunk This is so true. Remember in X-Men when she impersonates Wolverine and he cuts her "claws"? Cosmetic and imitation.
+Harry Saxon That's awesome, but why wouldn't they let something so important be in the first cut of the film?
11:42 That is a piece of a Sentinel which is purposely not metal so magnet-like mutants can't control it, Magneto wouldn't be able to stop it
Exactly and it's being thrown at him just as fast as a bullet
@@LukeLovesRose i thought that was the only reason which is why i let it go. Plus for dramatic effect. Didnt know it was part of a sentinel.

Jesus, yes, the movie states that nothing in the present changes until he wakes up. Our point is... that's f*cking stupid.
Noice
How would 1973 Wolverine recognize Beast or Xavier if he has never met them before?
The movie is terribly flawed and exists only to say that the others don't. But I understand why people are arguing that as not being a flaw, as the whole thing is stupid. You can't just pick and choose which things to ignore. Though, to your credit, that explanation is still a flaw because during the scene he "wakes up" and is sent back to the future...at least partially. Time should have instantly rewrote itself and they would not have been at the temple.
fuck you!
Mandela effect for EVERYONE!!!! =P
exactly... seriously, this guy pays attention to every little lame detail, but doesn't pay attention to the most important explanation of the whole film... THAT is a sin!
but what they don't explain is her having that power in the first place... even as a secondary mutation it doesn't make sense, she walks through walls so she can send minds through time? Nope.
If anyone should have been doing that it should have been Jean or Scarlet Witch instead of Kitty.
Stopped how? The movie clearly shows that he can curve one without even seeing it.

Funny that they use mystique when there was a mutant in First Class that adapts to survive his environment.
Granted he died, but still
Braden Spencer how Darwin died was bullshit considering he can adapt to everything but that's in the past
how would you adapt to survive pure energy being forced down your throat?
in the rouge edition rouge was captured so with the mix of mystique and rouges powers made the sentinels
@DivineCypher9590 his power was to adapt to different environments, not adapt to different elements of energies, so he can't just turn into energy.
I mean technically she could, but the movie would end in the first few minutes.
@@DeletedZeroZero they can just physically adapt they dont have dna which can change and control quantum fields gravity and somethings
This whole movie would have made a lot more sense if they based the sentinels off Darwin as he adapts and mystique just shapeshifts
+Nathan Price Yeah but considering the "past" part of the movie takes place *after* First Class, Darwin's already dead so no chance of it happening
+Rafael Calderon that's why they shouldn't have killed him off
ProdiJay
True, still they had to kill someone in that scene if only to prove Shaw is a right b*****d and Darwin's mutation was the least spectacular one battle-wise so he drew the shortest straw. Considering they had originally planned a direct sequel to First Class which eventually turned into DoFP they didn't have a reason to keep him alive at the time.
Well, hindsight's always 20/20 or so they say
+Rafael Calderon Death didn't stop Darwin from coming back in the comics. Heck, that's half of what he did in the comics.
+PhasicInverter since when do the movies do things by the book?

Blink doesn't need to open a second portal because the the 'second' portal is actually the first still. Its like bending space to appear somewhere so there's a gap.

The one shrapnel Magneto couldn't stop was from a Sentinel, which he cannot controle.
Also, past and present co-exist as long as Logan's mind is still in the past. As soon as Kitty disconnects him and Logan awakes, history is altered.
You see, as they said in the movie, all the changes to the timeline only take effect after the time traveling thing stops.
This, so many sins are wrong because he didn't get this.
So in other words: "Meanwhile, in the Future"
I've actually noticed that they do this quite a lot in movies, where they skip over details they later sin or scenes they skip. I'm assuming this is intentional as it happens quite frequently and my only assumption for this is to be able to give more sins, because they can.
Cody Hines h
Liam Sullivan
i
so many sins on this are just him not paying attention to what's been said by the characters. kitty explained the time travel, they showed there were two nixons, Logan can't die from drowning, you can fight a person and still be calm (especially when nothing they do can kill you), sun spot isn't a knock off human torch. he's way more powerful.
LionWithAGun why can't Logan drown again he needs air to breath right? healing power doesn't keep water out of your lungs...
snatchadams69 yes the water won't leave his lungs but when you drown it's not the water that kills you.
Because he's a badass
Reaper Nation haha
It was more about Professor X, Magneto and Mystique while Wolverine was more of an advisor. lol

Actually an ''elevator'' can be all made of wood and ropes (no metal) and still work perfectly and be safe to use... sooo *ding* on CinemaSins?! =P

mrmoneybags Plastic then? I mean, they mastered the acrilic to make metal free firearms by that time so, my over-thinketive mind keeps pressing me to defende my point... ( someone as to ''ding'' the ''dingers'', right?)
I'm gonna have to sin you for stealing the "Who watches the watchmen" bit from Watchmen (DING), but then remove it because...reasons; and because it was clever (GNID).
It's actually a phrase thousands of years old.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? is a Latin phrase found in the work of the Roman poet Juvenal
from his Satires (Satire VI, lines 347-8). It is literally translated
as "Who will guard the guards themselves?", though it is also known by
variant translations.
I like how you forget that an elevator/ slide-door to Magneto's cell needs electricity conducted by *metal* to function
I love how even Marvel prefers this quicksilver
You can remove half these sins by realising that whenever Kitty (I think that's her name) uses her time travel power she actually creates a new timeline (otherwise you run in to obvious paradoxes that's I'm surprised weren't mentioned in this video). That's does make her by far the most powerful mutant (she creates universes) but it also means that the Charles and Magneto and gang that we knew for the first few movies still die by the sentinels, it's just that the story now follows a different time line.
I don't see how it creates new universes. She sends people back in time and when she brings them back the effects of the people she had sent back are put into motion and the previous timeline is erased
sanderflop If the previous timeline is erased then they don't go back in the first place- paradox.
Akaakaaka ak no it was only his conscience
sanderflop Yes, but his conciousness still needed to be sent back..
Akaakaaka ak okay fine you have a point time travel creates a new timeline but it dissolves the old timeline and her powers aren't that extreme because she usually only sends people back a couple days
Plastic not glass right? There were a lot of sins that were stupid in this one... Maybe because I love this movie
Also, the future doesn't change until she lets go... Pay attention bro
Have you not seen the one where they sin themselves? They do these for comedy not because they necessarily think these things actually detract from the movie.
Also, because you actually paid the fuck attention. I like these sin videos, but sometimes they get lazy.
Agree, while Wolverine can't change anything under the sea, going by the time travel rules of this movie the old timeline does not cease to exist until Kitty stops using her mind power, so while Wolverine is underwater, technically he is still time -traveling, and if someone ot it him out of water he could continue changing the timeline as long as Kitty doesn't let go, so it's not a plothole
rosvel92 so kitty could stop wolverine from dying? seems legit...not really...

It was explicitly explained in the beginning of the movie that the changes to the timeline don't take effect until Wolverine wakes up
which is actually why Kitty staying alive matters in the first place. These guys must have as much amnesia as they keep ranking on this movie for.
***** again they have more advance technology that we have now, fastorwording a music player isnt that hard to believe
But if the bullet trajectory was visibly curved, it would mean that it would have gone in a completely different way if he hadn't controlled it.
these are the ones i know the answer to
3.ONE mutant threatend the president but 4 saved him. it would be wrong to judge an entire group on one bad egg.
4. Xavier had a twin brother who was born in a brain dead coma thanks to his powers, before he died Xavier transferred his mind into his brothers body
5. mystique would be more likely to listen to them if both Xavier AND magneto told her to stop.
6. magneto was tackled to the ground before he could fully deflect the bullet.he wouldn't have killed Kennedy on purpose since he was also a mutant with the power of Tacto-Hypnosis
Where your other comments are concrete, I'd like to point out you obviously don't read the comics. Because if you did it would explain why Xavier can be alive.
Well
3. Without Mystique's DNA that would be a little hard to continue.
You forgot to mention that adding all that metal inside the robots, would shoot their flight characteristics to hell and back. Oh and what the fuck were those things? Plastic Ironman copies?

You know, Quicksilver only uses the headphones as ear protectors and maybe he sped up his music after realizing its too slow for him thus the same speed as him
This is too meta
I thought that too it's easy to do that
I think that too but if this was real-tea, how would the music player know exactly when to speed up the music? Even if he just used a button, if you listen to music that was made to be sped up, it doesn't sound the same due to sound artifacts and the speaker limitations.
Try speeding up some music, then recording it fast, then slowing down the recording. It sounds weird.

3:16 I've read that in First Class they had multiple takes where Hugh said "Fuck Off". And then in one of them he changed that to "go fuck yourself" without Fassbender and McAvoy knowing blah blah blah... they editor fucked up.
Well that wouldn't change the accuracy.
Plus it's been like however many years so why would Charles recall exactly what he said
"no metal beyond this point"
I see plenty of metal in the kitchen though
Wait, it's NOT a sin that they killed off Azazel, Banshee, Riptide and Tempest (Angel Salvadore) ALL offscreen between First Class and this movie?

The rest of us actually liked Azazel. He has the coolest scene in any of the movies. (the attack on CIA Headquarters)
And he's also kinda important because he's NIGHTCRAWLER'S FATHER.
when Vaughn was still set to direct, we were going to see Mystique and Azazel become an item.
KUDOS! That's brilliant. I wouldn't have noticed that/thought about hat at all until I saw this comment. Thumbs up! :)
***** he could have waited until they safely escaped and shot her then. If he killed her then and there he would have made sure blood droplets weren't there, and have had to lug her body around. That would have slowed him down and increase their chance of getting caught
***** yup he need living brain tissue
***** They didn't need more than her blood because they made the sentanels using the blood from when Mystique was shot
***** yeah a stadium w metal components which mystique is not made out of. But yeah generally they needed more than her blood to technologically advance
I've been watching so much CinemaSins that whenever a movie opens up with narration, I instinctively yell, "Narration!".
I get many strange looks.
The strange looks probably happen because "narration" is a word many people don't understand, apparently, have never heard that word used in a text.
No you don't
You yell "Narration!" when watching a movie with people? Just in private dwellings or in theaters as well?
Either way, it's a strange thing to do. You're strange and deserve strange looks.
_ WackyRoar _ I always have the “have the villain eat an apple, it make them seem like more of an asshole” comment!
I actually have a habit of using "Because random ____ is random"
Trask claims his sentinels have the technology of a harrier jet, a plane that wouldn’t be commissioned until 1986.
see that's an actual sin, an error in continuity and historical reference... CinemaSins focuses way too much on forced jokes that have nothing to do with the actual "sins" of a movie.
@@SA80TAGE If you come here for actual critiques I honestly pity you. That was never what this channel was about.
If you did a simple Google search, you would know that the Harrier Jump Jet was developed in the 1960s well before 1973
Mike Lau : So if it was in Cold War (classified) development, why were the military leaders from all around the world nodding their heads as though they knew what it was?
Styker was Wolverines general. He was a lot older by that time.
Some of the points are moot for this reason:
It's stated that the two timelines do exist concurrently until Kitty brings Logan back.
+Aster Dan That's explanations to excuse terrible writing and a company's indifference to our need for continuity.
AP Bikini Team That's how it worked in the comics, except it wasn't Kitty who sent people back in time. Actually, in the comics Kitty was the one who sent people back in time.
+AP Bikini Team Please read some comics before you comment on a comic movie.
Destroyer. Executioner is someone else
I think you meant Sunfire.
Your sense of physics is way off
I won't argue that this movie had some plot holes and some of the characters made some weird choices. However, I will argue against a few of the Sins that were counted here.
Sin #7:
The girl (think her name is Blink) is not TRYING to escape the facility. She and the others are simply buying time while Kitty and the other guy finish their time-travel thing in the back room.
Sin #28:
They already told you that the first person that Mystique ever kills is Trask, so her NOT killing Striker shouldn't be all that surprising.
Sin #31:
It's not that surprising that Xavier wouldn't remember the exact phrasing that Wolverine used during their one short encounter several years before.
Sin #64:
The music you hear in this scene is most likely just background music, not the music that Quicksilver is actually listening to in his headphones. Otherwise, the music would be playing in slow-mo just like all the other people in this scene are moving.
Sin #63:
It's not that weird for the guy who can manipulate metal to suggest that Wolverine would be improved by metal claws.
Sin #74:
Magneto was aiming for a kill shot on Mystique, not her leg. He can control the bullet when it is out of his sight, but not perfectly because he didn't know exactly where Mystique was going to fall to.
Sin #77:
Original-timeline-Wolverine may have forgotten Xavier, since they had only one encounter previously. And I'm pretty sure that he had never seen Beast in beast form before now (I admit my memory of the First Class movie is a bit hazy and I might be wrong, but I'm fairly sure about this).
Sin #118 & 126:
As they explained at the beginning of the movie, NONE of the effects of changing history will actually go into effect until present-day-Wolverine wakes up from his time travelling adventure.
Sin #25:
Lapdances serve no purpose but to make you look like a sex-crazed moron, so drop the joke already. It wasn't funny before, it's not funny now, and it'll never be funny.
I think the lap-dance joke is pretty funny.
***** I expect nothing less from sex crazed morons like them.
***** I was talking about lapdances in general when I said they make people look like morons, not so much the joke itself. And I do, in fact, have a sense of humor; it just doesn't register that type of "humor".
***** No. I just think lapdances make people look that way.
x men apocalypse builds up so much on but then falls down to a pile of cliches, future past was s much better. you're gonna sin a fuckton on that movie lol
Oh man I know x3
haha you watched it too?
I thought it had a layer of plastic in between so it actually chatters but doesn't break...
SAFETY DAAAAANCE THE SAF.....oh, right....
Please stop taking this man seriously he’s supposed to not be serious
I know, but it is fun to call out mistakes made by cinemasins because at that point both of us are taking the piss
***** well, i watched it over and saw the Erik part at the end but I still am kind of confused over Charles' part.
read the comics
Mia Dowd
Charles is an open mystery but he's come back a lot in the comics, so it is not unreasonable for him to die.
***** i guess. He is kind of the whole point of Xmen
You should watch the x men movies in this order:
First Class
X-Men
X2
The Wolverine
Days of future past
X Men Apocalypse
What about The Last Stand and wolverine origins?
+FourthStreetSaint those movies shall not be named
I think x3 needs to be watch despite how bad it is compare to x1 and x2 but I would bring clarity to The Wolverine movie. Xmen orgins can be skipped . Consider that a Alternate universe if one is curious to watch it. The only blessing Orgins brought us is a better Wolverine solo film and Deadpool done right.
+FourthStreetSaint The early X-Men (X1,X2,X3)films technically never happened... Changed timeline, different events.
Actually, X1,X2 and X3 never happen due to DOFP changed events... So there really is no order.
Quicksilver's music being in "real time" during slow motion wasn't a sin, he just listens to it in fast forward.

Dear Cinema Sins,
Please read the comics before giving a sin to mutant powers.
Sincerely, Geeks
Dear Geeks,
THE BOOKS DON'T MATTER!
Sincerely, CinemaSins Fans
CazRaX They actually do cause the movies are BASED OFF THE COMICS so they basically need to be as close to them as they can which means the powers have to be as close or basically are like what is seen in the comics.
Goleon No, cause a lot of people who see the X-men movies don't read the comics. So it's absurd to have to read all the comics to explain plot holes and shit. Movies that are based off of books are made with that in mind, the movie has to make sense within its own universe.
CazRaX
They offer a insight that explains why many of these are not sins and are bound to not only Marvel logic, but real world logic.
Sincerely, Marvel Fans and CinemaSins Fans
Thank you criticising powers and abilities in a superhero movie is like criticising events in a non-fiction historical movie. It is what it is
Mystique can copy anyones physical appearance, not their abilities. So how did that give the key to the sentinels.
It would make more sense for rogue to have been the source of the discovery seeing as she can take other mutants abilities away and use them.
jay wood They key to that ability was actuallywhen they capture Rogue, they were going to use that as an explanation in the movie but they cutted Rogue's part off without much explanation.
jay wood
Well.....due to time they kind of cut Rogue's scenes out of the movie. But in the cut scenes Rogue was being held captive so it's not too much of a stretch to think that they used her DNA to add that ability.
jay wood I think it would make even more sense to take Darwin's blood for his adaptability... but they killed him off. Oops.
Then Logan comes along and ruins your belief of a happy ending
That was 6 years later though. And a good fucking movie
Lol
@@chrisp5466 If it's in its own timeline, it doesn't mean anything then. When Xavier died, I couldn't stop thinking about his younger version
9:00 dude, that's the 70s version of wolverine without the conscience of wolverine from the future. Last thing he would remember would be sleeping with that chick we see at the beginning.
Conscious mind. Conscience is a very different thing
Mystique totally misunderstands men if she thinks turning blue makes her unattractive - banging hot alien-looking chicks is pretty much the sole motivator for all human technological progress - each minor accomplishment brings us just one step closer to becoming Captain Kirk. Mystique's true form is more desirable (in part due to rarity, but also because she's just hot) than any human woman :)
oh, just say it... it's cuz she's naked lol
Adia Aira
That too - she's blue, she's hot, and she's naked - what's not love?!
Some sins are explained decently if you pay attention. like the one scrap metal piece that hit magneto. lol
Exactly, the piece that hit Magneto was from a Sentinel, which are not made of metal.
I dont think cinemasins completely understood the movie
The movie is so good, they just got desperate for sins
Guys, the movie doesn't make sense. As usual they've picked on a few sins that have valid explanations, but none of the mechanics of this movie make any sense at all, not even "comic book sense." It's a big, flashy mess that successfully distracted you from its very many plot holes.
What about this movie is so hard for you to understand?
they kept calling out the guns, but im pretty sure they are plastic, not glass.
Disregard half of those for bad knowledge of the universe and not paying attention to what happens on screen.
Well it doesn't have to be "bad knowledge of the universe". He might know a lot about the x-men but he always says that he just talks about the movies. So everything the movies don't explain is a sin. Doesn't matter if the comics have a better explanation. =)
If he'd include the comic explantations, he could just count the whole movie as one big sin, since the comics are always better, if you ask me x3
Stift chan Makes sense.
And other couple dozen of those sins can be shattered by the same logic.
yeah like they actually state in the movie that characters like shadowcat sometimes evolve new powers over time
So did no one else wonder how they got the re-bar out of Wolverine when they hauled him out of the river? I mean come on, that stuff was buried in him pretty good, probably wrapped around bones and everything. Then when they pull him out of the river it's all magically pulled out? Um...no...lol. For some reason that really ruined the suspension of disbelief for me... :\
I was thinking the same thing when I watched the movie.
so wolverine not drowning was ok but the re-bar was unacceptable?....am I'm not reading the sarcasm or are you being serial?
Suspension of belief.
Okay .
This is a movie about people who genetically obtain supernatural powers and can do pretty much anything. With time travelling.
snatchadams69
The drowning was really dumb as well. Personally that whole scene kinda ruined things for me.
Steve Corona
No, I get that. The movie was enjoyable. But, as a filmmaker myself, it's usually the little things that bother me more. And this particular instance really just stuck out to me.
it would make more sense if they needed darwin's dna from first class than mystique's. he adapted to everything
Oblivianos agreed
Especially when you consider that Mistique can only take the form and not the powers. If she transforms into wolverine she doesn't actually have his claws it just looks that way. It would NEED the DNA of someone like Darwin or Rogue (which I believe was in the comics) for these things to work the way they do.
EllieYuki She took Wolverine's powers in the first X-Men movie.
supermysticsonic2 no she didn't she only got his appearance. she kinda healed cuz of her own powers
Or rogue because she can absorb abilities
9:21
Erik can control his magnetism as demonstrated throughout the movies, this is why he does specific shit not just destroying everything
No sin for the fact that not all metals are affected by magnets? Again?!
ding
+Cody Hines Honestly, the entire way they portray Magneto's abilities in the movies is just stupid in its entirety. Critical thing the movie's ignore about his abilities. He doesn't just control metals.
He manipulates magnetic fields. Which are present in literally everything, right down to the molecular level. He's done everything from changing the chemical compositions of objects to firing EMP and photon blasts to warping the magnetic field of the _entire planet_.
In my mind, that's always been the actual sin with his powers in the movies.
Neon Waffles
well i dont read comics, so there
Cody Hines So there? I was just saying they got it wrong from the source material's angle too. Wasn't trying to steal your thunder or argue against your point.
Neon Waffles
Yeah, I'm just saying I only have the movies to go off of.
"Previously, in a better X-Men movie."
According to WHOM, sir!
Come on first class was WAY BETTER
Mashawnima nup
Well, in this specific instance... us. But I'm sure others somewhere would agree.
CinemaSins
Hard to say pound for pound First Class was better than Days of Future Past. First Class had more corny meaningless scenes and plot points than DoFP by a long shot. Both were good movies overall though.
I'm with you: definitely prefer DoFP to First Class, and both to the rest of the X-Men series by a mile.
3:50 mystique was the cutest as a kid
Chef dat boi rd 3 I’m sorry but that looks Terrifying. It looks like something out of Dark Crystal.
Jaime Mora
1. But she does not have unbreakable bones, which you would need to fall from that high and land on solid ground with no injuries.
2. She had a concealed plastic gun, what was she going to do with it if not shoot Magneto, and it is certainly not in her character to sacrifice herself for people she despises.
*****
They have already occurred in the epilogue, and the epilogue shows us that no important characters died during the events of Apocalypse, otherwise they wouldn't be there. Thus this movie's epilogue kills any suspense we might have by letting us know the X-Men won and took no casualties.
Where did she pull the concealed pistol from
I doubt the writers knew that though
+Bunny Rabbit Well i mean most/maybe all electronics use metalloids to some degree. But most use metal as well.
And magnetomuses ferrous magnetism wich affects iron, etc but does not affect copper a conductive material boooooom💥
+John Llama master that's the theory.
11:47 i found this part way too funny 💀
This is how I think of things:
When Primary got sent back in time, it wasn't just the memories that were sent back, it was his consciousness as well.
Huitzilopochtli
Yep, so essentially well-liked-history-teacher Logan is replaced by angsty-sad-sack Logan.
You know what's really annoying? The writers were too stupid to think of this shit.
Almost all the men have hair cuts that are much too short for the decade.
Add 50 sins because Charles and Erik are still not married in any time line.
Oh boy here we go.....
dpchiko17 Oh, yeah, it absolutely ruins a movie when some people are shipping some of the characters.
First of all, not all people who ship things even have tumblr.
Also, if you don't like it, you can easily ignore it.
And, in the case you didn't know, even James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender ship it.
Billie of Oakdown
So you don't deny being a tumblr fanatic? Explains everything
dpchiko17 I don't deny using tumblr and I don't deny being a shipper. Because both of those things aren't bad.
Billie of Oakdown
No, they are
11:45 ahahahahahahahahah man you refer that lame joke Storm made in first Xmen to toad XD Hilarious. Made my day
"I would paint myself blue to fuck Mystique". That moment, i hit the subscribe buttom.
Sin 126 was wrong Shadowcat said that past and future are simultaneous that's why the future only changes when mystique drop the gun
Didn't they say it only gets real once she "disconnects"?
Dude, more than a 5-sin appreciation of that scene. To me, that is the most cinitografal (is that a word) best sequence in any of the X movies.
