i was actually REALLY happy Wolverine wasn't the main character for once, he over the years has gotten soooo much focus that i'm happy they went "we know all about him, let the supporting cast get some of the spotlight now" like he literally got his own show Wolverine and the x men.
He's so played up it's ridiculous. It was nice seeing him be part of an actual ensemble for once and not be the centre of attention.
Wolverine and the X-men was an Amazing show though. I wish they had continued it. But X-Men 97 is greater than I thought.
this is why he got his own comics. If all you want is the runt and depression, read Wolverine. If you actually want the X-men, read Uncanny X-men.

To be fair to Xavier, choosing Magneto wasn't the reason that Genosha got blown up. Both of them were unaware of Bastion's plans.
I believe honestly, Magneto made the x-men work even better, is far a better leader than professor X, and his arch was amazing.

This and Invincible have been what superhero animated shows needed for years. Let's hope they both continue with their quality for a long time.

My favorite part about the intro, besides the obvious, is how they continually updated it with the main characters on the team from episode to episode. Really cool detail that I appreciated a lot.

Thank you! When Magneto was leading the team, it was a genuinely positive influence for both the X-Men and mutant-human relations in general. The post-Genosha stuff is a completely separate issue.

I use to live for this show, I was so little then I didnt really know what day of the week or time it was supposed to be, I just knew that some mornings I get to wake up and see if this was on and it was always a beautiful day when it was. Yes, I now call those days Saturday morning….

How wonderful it is to see the X-Men revival lean into the 90's camp that made it unique in the first place. I was so worried they would try to force it into an edgy drama or slapstick comedy.

The dude has a freaking shower scene with who he assumed was Logan, during Storm's letter about finding connection while it is showing all the couples it shows Logan and Morph, and how Morph basically follows Logan around like a sad puppy...

It is crazy and yet also awesome that this show was the best TV of 2024. Of course there are a plethora of other great shows out there now with equally great moments throughout their run, yet NONE of them can hold a candle to what X-Men '97 did, especially the mind-bendingly brilliant episode 05. In terms of script, editing, conception and character development - and let's not forget the epic soundtrack - this show beats them all. Well done, Beau DeMayo and team! You did the show the justice it deserves.

Both OG series are actually in the same continuation, and had crossover episodes. In addition, in '97 we see Peter and MJ, from TAS, together in a cameo.

Man, the angle they took on this directing the humour at Millennials like me watching their beloved 90's animation come back is on point. My face hurts from laughing. I literally had a buddy complaining he had to turn down the show because his 1 year old was crying.
One objection: Wolverine likes Morph. Ironically.
Second objection: Morph IS likable full stop!
Objection to the first objection: Logan sincerely likes Morph, just not in the way Morph wants him to.
I like the idea of Wolverine's and Morph's relationship being a one sided romance just like Wolverine and Jean. Maybe in season 2 Morph could acknowledge his feelings and maybe even offer to use his changing abilities to be more like what Wolverine wants only for Wolverine to turn him down not wanting his friend to change who he is just to be with him and the two end up just being close friends.
I mean wolverine was his bestie in the og show, so he had to be the only one to like him here.
There’s a version of Wolverine in the comics that’s in a relationship with Hercules, so who’s to say this version of Wolverine isn’t into Morph?

There was supposed to be a movie, but apparently Ken Penders (writer for the comics at the time) really messed that up. And then he proceeded to royally mess up the comics so bad that they had to do a complete reboot.
Amazing how Disney's been messing up the mcu so bad, but managed to show the X-men more respect and reverence in just 10 episodes than Fox did in the last 20 years.
Not sure why we're giving Disney the win on this one.
I'm really looking forward to it.
And yet Disney also failing considering phase 4 and 5 of the MCU being all over the place with mostly mid or bad. Also Disney gets to learn what not to do from history which Fox never really had. Also you haven't seen the Live action side so I'd say wait and see first.

Not just according to Rogue. Check out the end of every episode at the point where you see the readouts on each mutant. Morph's description clearly uses the They pronoun.

@hartthorn I disagree (agree with Alice there). I think tolerance is accepting that there are others different from you who exist _with_ you, and both you and them find ways to co-exist. Tolerance isn't given or granted by *anyone;* it's a bilateral/multilateral exercise. I think anyone who doesn't know this, does not really practice tolerance at all-at most they just begrudgingly put up with someone, whether by force or by _pretending_ to be the bigger person.
