- Mutants in the Marvel universe can be considered a different species from ordinary humans, a species apart from human evolution. All thanks to the X gene that manifests in these beings. Generating mutants different from each other, and with different power levels among them.
Their powers were so varied and different that it was necessary to classify these mutants into different levels: the mutant levels: Omega, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon.
All according to the names of the Greek alphabet. And this serves to show how each ability and power are unique. But after all? Explain to me, what are each of these classifications and which mutants fit into each one.

Some quick corrections Storm is an omega level mutant. Scarlet witch is not a mutant. She gets her powers from a Mephisto and experiments.

Scarlet which technically IS a mutant and always was, until they wanted them to match their mcu counterparts and made changes to the twins powers. It’s just a situation of which story you’re reading or who is writing it.

If you mean in X-men 97 no hes still Alpha, Omega mutants have no measurable limit to their abilities. Its not jus power based. And he has a very glaring limit that he has to be in physical contact

only 25 living omegas as if 2024 but at most there has only ever been 35 known omegas in the entire 616 universe at one time out of 200+ mutant characters

0:16 - Summers' family, and Rasputin beg to differ; All three Summers brothers have some form of Energy manipulation (from the same dimension - through different sources of expression) and Collosus' Son and grandon have his powers. They're not always that varied... There's also the fact that all versions of Cable (who is the son of Madelyn Prior and Scott) have Telekinesis like their mom. There's a variant of Emma Frost and Scott's child who has her mom's powers. There's two kids from Rogue and Gambit in comics who have their parents' abilities. Hell Nightcrawler has an elseworlds daugther with Wanda who looks just like him. Magneto has Polaris (similar ability, different level/different expression) There's a variant of Storm's daughter who has not only her most noted powers, but very likely some variant of Wolverine's (if we count the Lupine race thing that was floated around a few years back - which made all feral mutants a seperate species of their own)

Also should be noted the original three I was aware of are Alpha, Beta and Gamma. Every other classification was added in later. (Wolverine DOES NOT NEED to control his healing factor - if he could; it would make him Omega and effectively Immortal based on everything he's been through: The power is ALWAYS active and thus does not require "control" THAT is the main difference between the Gammas - originally stated in classification as I mentioned in my comment in your other video, I just forgot the exact classification - and Betas. A Gamma does NOT have full control of their power. Hence why some positions were always arguable. Rogue for example has powers that put her far above Gamma; but she never until recently had control of them. Scott has an aquired brain injury, so despite his power in itself being Alpha level, he is technically correctly counted as Gamma)

Power scaling mutants doesn’t make sense. Their powers are more qualitative than quantitative. Power scaling makes sense when a power is quantified such as the intensity of energy beams you can shoot or the amount of weight you can lift. Qualitative powers like teleportation or wall crawling are not as easily scaled and provide additional functionality more than greater intensity of function.
I believe the scaling is based on their ability to wipe people out.
Wolverine is cool, but unlikely to be able to kill the whole planet compared to Magneto etc

also one of my favorite little quirks is that mutant classifications was not a thing for the most part. It was not until long after when a writer just did a quick little thing and it evolved. I also need to note that Emma Frost is in the middle ground of alpha and omega. She has been classified as both at times.
"Everyone worships something" is simply an adult version of the things we hear kids say to explain things they are curious about, don't understand, etc. Keisha sees Johnny throw his food and says "Johnny didn't like his food", when, in fact, Johnny was actually mad about leaving his favorite toy at home and threw his food because of that anger, not the taste of the food. Most adults never leave that explanatory reasoning behind and continue to make things up as adult - just doing it with bigger words and in more complex, sophisticated ways.
If you watch the video you see that Storm is pictured with the omega level mutants. The narration is so correct.

Just because wolverine have no choice in his healing factor isn't. The thing about wolverine that would make him an Alpha instead of beta is the fact that even beaten he isn't dead. The countless times he can come back will have even the most powerful omega level worried. If wolverine really wants something dead it might happen. If wolverine decided to be stealthy it's over.
Professor x is omega really. Might not be the ultimate telepathic but has multiple abilities within that along with telekinetic abilities.
Professor X was the ultimate Omega level mutant they quietly depowered him because he could at peak and was evil take over the minds of the entire earth at once. He could just make everyone friends.

Storm is definitely an omega level. Literally she’s one of the few stronger then Magnus. So is cyclops, his eyes are literally the only known portal into a realm of ruby colored energy. Later found to be a realm he can in fact travel through without being hurt. Eventually he will regain the ability to control his eyes and even possibly how much energy is released from that realm.
I love how technically wolverines healing factor is omega level, but because its not really a dangerous power, he isnt considered an omega level mutant
thats not how that works. This guy dosen't define omega correctly, Omegas don't have to be destructive there are non combat based Omegas. That being said the reason wolverine isn't omega is because it dosen't fit the defintion "A mutant whose dominant power is deemed to register - or reach - an undefinable upper limit of that power's specific classification," He has very visable and surpassable limits. Skin is definitely not Epsilon. He can use his powers offensively and defensively.
Levels have absolutely nothing to do with looks or ability to control your powers, Scott Summers could not control his power until he reached Omaga level, he needed ruby-blocking visor or shades to hold it back.
Levels only relate to the mutant's abilities. Leach as an Beta level can block other mutants abilities within a small distance as an area effect, but at Omega level he can block them from miles away and select which mutants to block.
Skin isn't useful? Hes like reed no? . Skin is useful and powerful. Skin can suffocate anyone, he can stretch to save lives. Ill have to check on all this, its been a long while since i read the xmen books.. like gen x etc..

I've always thought that Gambit was an Alpha level mutant, not Beta, but if the distinction here is a small physical characteristic like black eyes rather than power, I guess that is plausible. On the other hand, you've classified Cyclops as Alpha because before the plane accident he was naturally able to control his optic blasts. By that standard, then technically a natural, unaltered Gambit is Omega level, as his un-nerfed self New Sun could control energy and matter at the atomic level, didn't require physical contact to activate, and could even travel across time, space, and dimensions.

So since Wolverine is meant to be a Beta level mutant, if he didn't have the Adamantium which hindered his mutation, would he have been in the Gamma level? I'm aware that he would have eventually become like Sabretooth, turning more animalistic but since he now has the Adamantium, it essentially just stopped it

There is a classification of Beyond Omega and Storm, Franklin Richards, Jean Grey, Scarlet Witch and a few others are there. There are videos on that subject outlining the difference. Omega level powers may be confined to planetary in scale but beyond Omwga is not confined to planetary influence but nebulae, star systems, galactic etc. Then there are those on the cosmic scale. Much more than what is mentioned here.
No. Storm, Jean and Scarlet Witch are not Beyond Omega. The only beyond omega mutants are Franklin, Nate, Mr M and Vulcan and I think two others.
Jean can reach beyond omega level with white phoenix though.

Beyond Omega is not really an proper category and is just mentioned to show how they are above the others. All the beyond omega mutants are still classified as just omega.

An omega level is a mutant with no foreseeable upper limits to their dominant power. Some control elements/natural forces (Iceman, Storm, Magneto). But most don't...at least not directly.

Gambit is an Alpha after being nerfed by Mister Sinister and an Omega if he wasn't, plus there's plenty of odd featured mutants who are considered Alpha or Omega like Darwin, Omega Red Apocalypse so i don't believe it's a strict rule that Alpha and Omega mutants can't have features that out them

Eh, Mutants, and Mutates are as still mainline humans, manifesting the potential instilled in human by Celestial tinkering. It just mutates manifest their due to outside stressors and Muants due to inborn genetics (my own headcanon is that X-gene is itself a stressor, a genetic syndrome that causes either death or development of powers). Eternals and Deviants, those are different species.
The X-men nerd in me would like to think in another reality I would likely be a Delta level mutant. Some form of Clairsentience/Probability Sensing power. I would not stand out in anyway or have a power that would make me formidable.

Did you not watch the video? The classifications aren't just about power, but the nature of their mutation. Wolverine is a Beta mutant because he can't turn his powers on or off at will.

You got a few things wrong one storm.... Two Gambit is an alpha level mutant his eyes only glow when he uses his powers. Wolverine and sabertooth are usually on the same level sabertooth can pass for human if he chooses to dress normally just like wolverine he just have sharp teeth n long normal looking nails. His nails grow n sharpen at will. Domino can control her power she's a gamma mutant because her skin is turned white n has a blue patch.... I think that's all 😂 sorry you just got a lot wrong... Domino can't control her powers; she constantly explains how she lucks out and survives things most people would die from. If she could control her powers I'm sure she would make sure she didn't get hurt. My girl gets her ass beat on mission a lot just all vital spots missed.
No, Gambit's eyes SHINE when he uses his powers, but even when he's not using his powers, his sclera are black, his iris is red and his pupil is also black. Even though he has all the aspects of a common human, his eyes still betray his x gene.
Mutant classification for the most part is about passability as a human, not about power.
Alpha, Beta and Gamma mutants theoretically have the same power level.

You got it backwards, charles and emma aren't considered omega level mutants, but ARE considered omega level telepaths. They're in the highest class of telepaths but as mutations go, overall they are not classified with the omega status
