I think it was a poor decision to cast JLaw as the character. Mystique isn’t supposed to be an inspiring Katniss type she’s a bad blue bitch who chucked her own baby off a cliff.
In all fairness, she was more like a freedom fighter for mutants. Don't get me wrong, she'd do messed up things to get things going her way, but at the same time she still fought for mutant kind. So I'm not sure if she's necessarily a villain. But to the X-Men she definitely is lol.

12:33 I love Fassbender playing younger Magneto because of instances like this. When he dives into the dark side of the character, the sadness, anger, etc, he does it really well. Always loved seeing him do this in all the prequel x-men's, even this turd lol. A well deserved removal of sins.
When I used to read the X-Men comics as a kid in the 80s and 90s I always saw Cyclops as a strong leader. In all of these movies I barely notice him. He seems like a background character to me.

I feel like they do this entires series wrong not just Scott. They focused so heavily on people like Professor X, Magneto, Mystique, Logan, and Phoenix/Jean but fail to focus on all the other main mutants like Rogue, Storm, Jubilee, Angel, Psylock, Bobby, literally all the other main characters. It's like they only trust that their viewing audience will only know those 5 main characters. Like if they did a proper movie, they didn't think more people would come see. I don't think they realize how large and vast their fanbase truly is and completely ruined an amazing series that could have been good. Really beat the dead horse.

I remember the early movies where magneto was Ian mckellan that mystique was clearly different shades of colors than she ended up being in the later movies. Knowing how picky cinema sins can be, I was surprised they didn’t point that out.
Ahmed Aubrey is Revenge for Ruth George!!! I know she changes her appearance, believe it or not I have seen the movies. Something I’ve noticed is that her blue skin look seems to be her default look, like that’s how she was born. I just think the slight changes in color are due to the makeup departments of these movies, I really don’t think the character Mystique would wake up one day and be like “ya know what, my skins looking a little too blue today”
Exactly. The blue form is her "real body" when she's not using her powers at all, therefore the shade of blue should be the same. And not even mentioning her hair, they change the colour and structure even more than her skin. Here she has a pretty nice looking, silky dark red hair when in the previous movies she looked like David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. I get that the actress was allergic to the body paint so they had to change it and that's why the blue differs, but why they couldn't get the same wig I have no clue.

The plan was for a final film in the “First Class” timeline to be set on Millennium eve 1999 which would tie it into the reset Wolverine time line from Days of Future past.. but a combination of this film being so shit and killing the franchise and Disney buying Fox means that film will never come to fruition.

eh continuity differences are a thing and while she did get stapped - WAY fucking different logan's claws were like 3 percise knives - sharp and probably needed better than standard healing to fix (but maybe they had a healer on hand to help with that) here she got nearly torn in half damage wise - this isn't a few gut pokes with thin blades - these are like around 6 3-4 inch long spikes driven through her - hell even if she could normally heal the damage this sort of thing could cause shock or something maybe disabling her control over her ability also she should have that kind of control yes - she shifted into tyrion lannister after all - that's half the mass presumably so this idealistically shouldn't be an issue - of course until it is

She was already this overworldly powerful being and that is was attracted the cosmic force. Do you have any idea how powerful Storm is? In the comics, she's capable of conjuing up a cosmic storm powerful enough to shake the entire planet and controlling weather on a cosmic level. So yes, Storm is capable of using her powers in space.

I've read a lot of reviews(over a hundred) a lot of reviewers judge this movie based on what it was marketed to be(a superhero event movie with Jean as the villain and grand finale to the series) rather than what it was made to be(a psychological thriller with Jean as the protagonist suffering from PTSD). Made video about it on my channel.

Surprised he didn't bring up the rain during a funeral cliche when Storm, the weather manipulating mutant, was attending. So either it rained naturally and Storm didn't stop it OR it was a sunny day and Storm made it rain.
Almost *everything* had something wrong in the movie imo. The way I see it, they could've handled some of those situations differently, like that pointless battle at new york for example. It's like every character development they ever had in previous movies was erased and they became ignorant people that don't know how to handle a situation they should have experience on logically.
In the comics I remember ororo (storm) being worshipped like a goddes in Africa, by bringing rain and water to the dessert and saving hundreds of thousands of people. Buuut its cool that she is a walking ice machine in here
A need to cater to the wahmen audience with one of the most boring yet somehow recognizable female mutants. Jean is boring when the phoenix is not a thing while the phoenix itself is annoyingly hard to make a movie out of since there is a lot to write for it. Thats why the movies shifted into this weird personality split instead of it being an ancient power that has a boner for jean so it always flies to her ass.
The movie was basically that weird child Fox tried to have right before Disney took custody of its entire family. It was originally going to be a lot different and even be a two part movie with more focus on the cosmic aspect. Not to mention all the reshooting and rewriting (supposedly) because people thought the movie was too similar to captain marvel. There were a lot of delays, bad marketing, distasteful rewrites, etc. It says a lot when deleted scenes are more well received than the initial movie. The movie ended up a rushed mess with Fox not caring about it because everyone figured the xmen would just get the reboot button after disney came along. Dark Phoenix went through the same hell New Mutants is going through still.

I feel like they do this entires series wrong not just Scott. They focused so heavily on people like Professor X, Magneto, Mystique, Logan, and Phoenix/Jean but fail to focus on all the other main mutants like Rogue, Storm, Jubilee, Angel, Psylock, Bobby, literally all the other main characters. It's like they only trust that their viewing audience will only know those 5 main characters. Like if they did a proper movie, they didn't think more people would come see. I don't think they realize how large and vast their fanbase truly is and completely ruined an amazing series that could have been good. Really beat the dead horse.

I remember the early movies where magneto was Ian mckellan that mystique was clearly different shades of colors than she ended up being in the later movies. Knowing how picky cinema sins can be, I was surprised they didn’t point that out.
Ahmed Aubrey is Revenge for Ruth George!!! I know she changes her appearance, believe it or not I have seen the movies. Something I’ve noticed is that her blue skin look seems to be her default look, like that’s how she was born. I just think the slight changes in color are due to the makeup departments of these movies, I really don’t think the character Mystique would wake up one day and be like “ya know what, my skins looking a little too blue today”
Exactly. The blue form is her "real body" when she's not using her powers at all, therefore the shade of blue should be the same. And not even mentioning her hair, they change the colour and structure even more than her skin. Here she has a pretty nice looking, silky dark red hair when in the previous movies she looked like David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. I get that the actress was allergic to the body paint so they had to change it and that's why the blue differs, but why they couldn't get the same wig I have no clue.

The plan was for a final film in the “First Class” timeline to be set on Millennium eve 1999 which would tie it into the reset Wolverine time line from Days of Future past.. but a combination of this film being so shit and killing the franchise and Disney buying Fox means that film will never come to fruition.

logan's claws were like 3 percise knives - sharp and probably needed better than standard healing to fix (but maybe they had a healer on hand to help with that)
here she got nearly torn in half damage wise - this isn't a few gut pokes with thin blades - these are like around 6 3-4 inch long spikes driven through her - hell even if she could normally heal the damage this sort of thing could cause shock or something maybe disabling her control over her ability
also she should have that kind of control yes - she shifted into tyrion lannister after all - that's half the mass presumably so this idealistically shouldn't be an issue - of course until it is

I've read a lot of reviews(over a hundred) a lot of reviewers judge this movie based on what it was marketed to be(a superhero event movie with Jean as the villain and grand finale to the series) rather than what it was made to be(a psychological thriller with Jean as the protagonist suffering from PTSD). Made video about it on my channel.

A need to cater to the wahmen audience with one of the most boring yet somehow recognizable female mutants. Jean is boring when the phoenix is not a thing while the phoenix itself is annoyingly hard to make a movie out of since there is a lot to write for it. Thats why the movies shifted into this weird personality split instead of it being an ancient power that has a boner for jean so it always flies to her ass.
Did you completely forget about the ending of Days of Future Past.
The movie was basically that weird child Fox tried to have right before Disney took custody of its entire family. It was originally going to be a lot different and even be a two part movie with more focus on the cosmic aspect. Not to mention all the reshooting and rewriting (supposedly) because people thought the movie was too similar to captain marvel. There were a lot of delays, bad marketing, distasteful rewrites, etc. It says a lot when deleted scenes are more well received than the initial movie. The movie ended up a rushed mess with Fox not caring about it because everyone figured the xmen would just get the reboot button after disney came along. Dark Phoenix went through the same hell New Mutants is going through still.

Jean can be and is fucking badass without the Phoenix Force, a lot writers and producers presume dying and resurrecting as fiery bird lady was he most interesting thing that happened to Jean.
The only X-Men “past” movies I like are First Class and Days of Future Past. But even DOFP was mainly an excuse to wipe out all events from X2 and above (still an excellent film imo)

Nah. Not J Law. I’m no SJW but I’m pretty sure she is an okay actress but I think it’s the script. Kinberg used her star power in this movie as well as Apocalypse to make her the leader of the X-Men. Before her star power in First Class, she was an okay Mystique. Whatever crap Mystique told Charles about the X-Women and all were written by Kinberg just to please the SJW’s. They’d rather have that over one simple line where Peter tells Erik that he is his son.

Also, Magneto taught Mystique to “be Herself” in First Class. Showing Her true Skin color. That was the whole focal Point of Her conflict in that one, just For her to rock Her white Skin in this Movie ? guess it wasn’t Enough jennifer lawrence for the studio.
