@@Lethal.G37 for normal daily driving it doesnt matter. But in a front wheel drive car you want to apply throttle to kind of power through the turn and help keep the ass end of your car settled in. If you lift the throttle before the turn, it shifts the cars weight forward and makes the ass lighter and more prone to over steer. Basically you just want to apply throttle to keep your car consistant in the corner. But be warned, too much gas in a turn will overwhelm your front tires and cause you to "push" through the turn, or understeer. Another HUGE thing. (Old video I know Anthony) but I often see videos with strut bars but NO one talks about having brackets that move or are adjustable. If they can move, your strut bar is nearly worthless. What I mean by that*** IF you have joints on each side, what exactly is your strut bars keeping from moving? Under load, those two brackets with bolts/joints on each end or literally moving duder. Strut bars engineered as a ONE-PIECE are the only strut bars that actually stop the body from flexing when bolted onto your chassis strut towers/ other various locations that don't quite have stoutly engineered support. This is for all vehicle manufactures. Cheers hope all is well my friend!
The way you should have done this is jack by the front tire does the back tire lift the same install strut tower bars and rejack see how much back tire comes up your trying to stop the shell from flexing.
You noticed it because much of the suspension parts are well worn. The Strut bar/brace does help on hard turns, cornering and on bumpy roads on an older vehicle. Does little for a new car. Also, Honda Civic is a light weight FWD vehicle therefore, even better sort of. If the strut brace/ bar nuts are not tight according to Car manufacturer torque specs and wherever the adjustment are to make it completely stiff ...if it wiggles it is not tight enough. When you tug, push and pull hard on the bar it will move the car and any movement in the bar then ain't tight enough.

What you want is swaybars front and rear. They will improve body roll more so than strut braces, those wheels scrub pretty bad too i noticed. Different offsets could probably have solved that but i guess they are what you have on it for now. I didn't think the coilovers youre using would bottom out so easily, maybe you have them at maximum preload or height adjustment for the spring so its not handling the bumps really well. I looked at the truharts but went with the new Tein Street Advance Z's myself.
Damn straight! Intakes strut swaybars doesn't matter the brand it all works the same again as I said on another comment they work the same. Gotta love garage mech and they knowledge lmao
They work. Not as good as all solid strut bars because under a hard enough load to flex the body, there IS some minor flex in the strut bar. Is it enough to make a noticeable difference from adjustable vs solid? I dont think there is
Gotta cut down on the side-to-side head movements (up/down too but less of an issue) if you're gonna use the head cam but appreciate the video in general. If it's just hard to do: Go from your current 60fps down to 30fps, shoot in wide (or 2k), then use digital image stabilizing in post. Watched your interior cleaning video from last week and your car looked so clean! I'm thinking about starting detailing for a side job this summer, any suggestions? What are the essentials I should get/need?
Wes DePorter that’s a great idea, there’s plenty of ways to get started but I would check out a legit detailing channel to get most of that info. The Rag Company channel, AMMONYC, etc
ALLDAYANTHONY I will check them out! Thank you! I’ll be working full time this summer but I also want to try and make some more money while learning about this stuff.
i have heard many people saying that due the to double wishbone design, EK/EG and what now, don't actually benefit as much from tower struts as other vehicle because the shock tower don't actual flex as much as non double wishbone setup O_o? so if you have solid enough suspension setup, you can run with out struts.
Great vid! I gave one just like the one you drive to my son also named Anthony. You should see the pics. You should take Mothers Aluminium Polish to the valve cover. Mine looks like chrome how shinny it is.

The science of how strut bars work is that it links the top strut towers together so that each top hat's flex is reduced during very hard back and forth quick cornering. The reason why the strut towers flex is because the suspension goes through a lot of load during quick cornering and deforms that region on the chassis. It is absolutely impossible to do a test on seeing if the strut bar really works or not under these normal street driving conditions. The car has to corner very very quickly with a back and forth motion consecutively to feel it (especially like autocrossing). If you do feel any changes in these street driving tests, then it's all placebo. ruclips.net/video/-S6H7ZdzBfE/видео.html
In addition, Hondas (and double wishbone suspensions in general) do not experience lateral load on the strut towers like MacPherson strut suspensions do. All of the lateral force is handled in the control arms, the majority of it being handled by the lower control arm due to the placement of the load originating from the bottom of the tire. Strut bars are almost completely for looks on these cars, though linking the strut towers at the top will allow them to transfer vibrations to one another, so you can get a marginally more comfortable ride on roads where only one tire is experiencing a change in elevation. As far as performance goes, they do not, outside of very extreme driving, do anything to help the suspension. Fun fact, they also do nothing to reduce body roll, and in fact work to increase body roll if they are working as suggested by most people.
@@nathanikola6334 I'm so glad there's some people who understand racing suspension components out there too. So many people think that strut bars REDUCE BODY ROLL (maybe false/mistakable advertising) but the main purpose of strut bar is to REDUCE STRUT TOWER FLEX. You stated that double wishbone suspension has strut towers flexing in the lateral movement very minimally but I think these bars are supposed to reduce vertical flex, not lateral (horizontal) because suspension load is mostly vertical; I could be wrong. Strut bars are most likely absolutely 100% useless on normal street driving. You have to be racing the car through BACK TO BACK corners VERY HARD and FAST for them to be effective; best example is SLALOM!
@@nathanikola6334 People ask me all the time what's the best suspension upgrade you can get for cars because I race and I usually tell them in this order (definitely my own opinion though): 1. Anti-Sway Bar 2. Tires 3. Coilovers 4. Chassis bars (strut bars) *Vast majority of people in these car scenes don't race though so it's understandable for them to ignore tires and sway bars. They tend to get coilovers for the lowering look, center of gravity, and sporty feel and chassis bars for the cosmetic factors.
Michael Flare a bar that extends between the shock towers will not provide very good support for vertical forces. A force that is pushed coaxial to the bar will transmit a force in that direction, however pushing vertically will creat a moment about the opposing strut tower - this results in a very long lever, and thus a large mechanical advantage, for the strut tower that the force is originating from. This means that the ability of the bar to cope with that force is severely hampered. The bar really isn’t suited to deal with a force in the vertical direction, so it doesn’t help much there at all. And I absolutely agree with replacing your sway bars first, those make loads of difference even with very worn out suspensions!
Nathan Ikola Holy crap. You’re absolutely correct. LOL. I realize that’s why people make crossbars for the EK’s rear cabin. I’m so dumb. LOL. I don’t know what I was thinking. Thank you!
@@fsega3669 no, "amazon / e-bay parts " are (usually) Chinese budget parts done by amateurs / By actual companies to sabotage their market so people buy the correct parts instead of scrooging. Wes DePorter that’s a great idea, there’s plenty of ways to get started but I would check out a legit detailing channel to get most of that info. The Rag Company channel, AMMONYC, etc
ALLDAYANTHONY I will check them out! Thank you! I’ll be working full time this summer but I also want to try and make some more money while learning about this stuff.
i have heard many people saying that due the to double wishbone design, EK/EG and what now, don't actually benefit as much from tower struts as other vehicle because the shock tower don't actual flex as much as non double wishbone setup O_o? so if you have solid enough suspension setup, you can run with out struts.
is that JDM logo removable without causing damage? then they would be way better.
If you get adjustment nuts welded, that should make it a bit sturdier.
After it button up. You can just weld the bar to the plater at the bolt. And should be permanent. Just don’t weld to the strut tower. Lol
Lol true!
What steering wheel is that ? Great channel by the way!! keep it up.
AP1 s2000! Thanks man
Great vid! I gave one just like the one you drive to my son also named Anthony. You should see the pics. You should take Mothers Aluminium Polish to the valve cover. Mine looks like chrome how shinny it is.
Got something in the works for a valve cover :)
I just got a 97 ex coup but its an automatic 😢 an has a d16y8 but also has 225000 on it but beleive it or not it still runs well heat air power windows locks all works an for 600 bucks u simply cant beat it.im planning to rebuild the dseries in it an prep it for boost an make it a sleeper.nothin cooler the a civic walkin on mustangs an camaros all nite.
Looks solid
Thank you😃
Solid ones are MUCH better, but the cheapos can help to a lesser extent. I would not bother with the cheap ones tbh.
The true heart are those struts and springs are those coils and where did you get them from
Man has an evo and a bike, people want the civic
The other toys are just a cover up for the Honda boy I truly am
ALLDAYANTHONY I love it, you just earned a like
I installed one cheap strut bar on my 99 civic with a y7 engine and I just unclipped the air box without remove it and done!
Nice!!
You should drop a k24 long block in it there so cheap and it seems like you know the right people to get done 😁

@@nathanikola6334 People ask me all the time what's the best suspension upgrade you can get for cars because I race and I usually tell them in this order (definitely my own opinion though):
1. Anti-Sway Bar
2. Tires
3. Coilovers
4. Chassis bars (strut bars)
*Vast majority of people in these car scenes don't race though so it's understandable for them to ignore tires and sway bars.
Thank you!
you should get also the subframe with sway bar which I have,it's by ASR and it handles real good.
what's your camera ,it looks very clear
Digging the steering! Where can I get one like this? What is it called?
@2:26 did you just assume all Honda guys build ebay and amazon built cars sir =_=
I wasn't aware that eBay or Amazon manufactured car parts
@@fsega3669 Probably not aware because they don't...unless you wanna count AMAZON BASICS LOSER HAHAHA... sorry
@@fsega3669 no, "amazon / e-bay parts " are (usually) Chinese budget parts done by amateurs / By actual companies to sabotage their market so people buy the correct parts instead of scrooging. It's a common practice in manufacturing to Mud the waters.
but yeah, e-bay parts are usually hilariously wrongly made, be it Car parts, Nintendo replacement parts, computer parts or literally anything.
They're not manufactured By Amazon or E-Bay, just sold via their site.
when I built my EG up I went for the quality functional product, for all the stifness I used Ultra racing from upper & rear strut bar, also the c pillar bar and also installed a rear subframe by ASR also it has a sway bar now my EG handles real good on the circuit track.
Ayy, sick video, where did you get that shift knob btw looks good !
It’s a skunk2 weighted knob
@@ALLDAYANTHONY okay thanks for the reply!
Should have gotten 15x7 man those are a perfect fit on my si with the truhart coilovers, I rarely get rubbing on my own and sometimes only with another person in the car is rubs rarely I have 205 50 15 tire and wheel setup man it’s perfect honestly even with my stock si rims were 195 55 15 they rarely rubbed even more
I really like the fit of these, just need to dial them in with the new camber kit. I don’t get rubbing with normal driving, just when I go hard in the paint
@@ALLDAYANTHONY Ah yeah man they do fit really good, I am not going to lie. but yeah hopefully with the camber kit it gets better, can not wait to see you install them man ! but for sure man good luck and keep it up
ImKevK thanks for watching! I’ll get those on soon
Would you still need a sway bar with a full cage? Or is the fact that it's tied in at the places it is that makes it work?
I found a nice 98 ex coupe for $1500 on Craigslist but I really want an older hatchback and I am struggling on a decision
safe i got a hatch but parts are a pain to find for hatches especially ek
@@dailyatom8678 yea thats what ive heard, a hatch has been my dream car for awhile though so i might just hope i dont have many repairs to do
Damn how is the crossover so strong
Smash that pedal to the floor and throw on an intake! I do feel like mine has gotten stronger (louder) the more times I have hit it
