I think Stephen has taken Charlie Rose's advice to heart and little by little is getting better at the skill of interviewing. (I've watched this three times now.)
+Arpa de Lluna Yes, you know it was clear in the first week or two of the show that he was still using his Colbert Report interviewing method - being overbearing, cutting people off and so forth and I think it's fair to say he just didn't know how to interview as a normal person and not a character.
It's called reading the room. there's times that's ok to be funny, or overbearing, or tongue in cheek, or serious, or respectful. it's not a interview skill. it's common sense and everyone should have it.
+Arpa de Lluna Yeah, though I noticed he did try to ask questions when I expected clapping to be and he had to restart a question. He could read that a bit better, but otherwise much better.

It is the same in France, England, Germany, Italy, etc. You join us, we welcome you. We are all long-standing allies. Something to be grateful for!
And we have some really benevolent American families living on the beaches of Normandy in France. Visited this place 2 times in 2 years, and I love the atmosphere and respect we have for each other so much. Brings you back to the essentials and this feeling of love for each other. I am French, and I was surprised when he said he was french. I didn't know you could serve in a foreign country. Amazing person
@@doneyhon4227 Plenty of Frenchmen have served in our country's armed forces. Many (like this guy) served with great courage and valor.
Thank you Stephen, once again you brought on someone who matters. If you and your team fought tooth and nail to retain the integrity of your show the way it is rather than turning it into another shows filled with trivial conversations with Gossip's front page celebrities to attract a larger audience, I bow to you in respect.
Thank god for men like Ranger Capt Groberg US Army Infantry.
Thank you for your service sir.
Amazing man. I am Canadian but I am very touched by his story and what he said about his comrades that didn't make it. Thank you everyone at the late show for putting this up.
+Arpa de Luna I hope so - because he can't get any worse.
@@roblockster9905 not about reading, more about him trying to give queues to the audience. He has limited time and wants to get in all the questions he can with the MOH winner.
Thank you for your service, Florent Grover’s.
I wanted to give him a hug the whole time.
Excellent captain...4th ID....I was 1-22 4th ID alpha company....was wounded in combat May 23 2006.... steadfast and Loyal....deeds not words
Glad your made it back sir, and thanks brother
As a Marine Veteran who’s been to Afghanistan I take my hat off for this hero
Mr Colbert, thank you for recognizing our country's finest.
“Caitlyn Jenner” is not a hero this man is. Hero should not be wasted
It's the most over used word in our society. It should be reserved for men like this.
You realise you can be a hero for many different reasons ffs?
30secondstomarsMBH you can be a hero for acting heroically. Jumping into a dangerous or deadly situation to save another makes someone a hero. Injecting estrogen into your ass doesnt
Caitlyn Jenner is not a hero. People who take incessant abuse and still stay true to their identity no matter what people say, and champion themselves are heroes because they actually actually hold themselves to the standard of a Medal of Honor recipient.
Love this dude... very inspirational. War brings out the worst and best of humanity.
Incredible young gentleman so much respect earned 👏🏻
did you ever notice this, they're generally very modest and soft spoken and you can tell that they're well liked.
I'm not normally a fan of things like this because it feels like the host is often milking the guest for attention (for their show). However Colbert mostly listened and actually made the guest center stage. I'm starting to prefer this guy to most talk show hosts.
These men are always soft spoken and never showy. They're always very likeable.
Thank you for your SERVICE. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🌍👊🙏💥❤🖖😀
bad ass much love captain.....your earned it
I've been binge watching these interviews and I'm not one to cry often but I've teared up at every interview. Listening to these stories you can really picture what it was like for them. God bless this man and every soldier who puts their life on the line for us. 🇺🇸 Also did he get a purple heart? I didn't see it on his uniform.
I feel sure that it was not overlooked. No doubts here.
Wow, you can tell from his demeanor, his intelligence, and even the way he moves he is one committed badass on the battlefield. I'll bet he was all business, and business was good.
This is a TRUE American hero, Look in his eyes. God Bless him.
You can see the pain in his eyes
But YOUR handle also caused pain. Why would you say 'fuck God' when it's both divisive and so offensive to so many? Peace brother. Allahu akbar. (From a Christian businessman, ex army vet, and now senior). Check out what it really means..... so you needn't be offended. Guess you have few Jewish, or Muslim friends .
Respect.
No matter how much of an old cynic I become, young people like this will always get to me.
Amazing! Thank you for your service, and thank you Stephen for having a true hero on the show.
This guy can be famous movie star
I honestly cried
He's a way better person than I could ever imagine to be. I'm not American but I thank him for his service and general existence.
This interview made me tear up. This is incredibly heart wrenching.......
I hope I manage to be even half the man Cpt Groberg is.
