As a fellow Queenslander couldn't agree more ,when we are enjoying our beautiful country ,there's brave men and women fighting 24/7 in foreign countries making sacrifices for our freedom ,when most people don't even realise it's going on .Our son was injured and medically discharged and his biggest battle is now the DVA ,it's makes me sick that brave men and women are injured and worse and then fight their own government for help.

@Tony C Tony, Democratic Socialism is what ALL other THRIVING Democracies have. It's because I love my country, fallen Brothers and Allies that I want the strongest America possible. That only happens when you have a strong Middle Class. The Country's Backbone of strength lays in its opportunities for the working class not the present controlling 1 or 2 %! D.S. gives our people fair play and restricts the multi national corporate greed that controls our social, economic, political & environmental justice. If you truly love the U.S.A. with all your heart and with open eyes, You vote for america's last hope, Bernie Sanders. Regardless of where your political views are, we must come together as a united people with the power of love rather then hate. May Blessings be yours, I thank you for your comment. The following observation is taken from repeated history both from our country and others. When A Contrry's Peoples that can no longer express differing ideals in respect and democratic discourse, it slips down the slope toward Civil War. My Respects, ... Mike.

No, it's not. Some of those are for schools, good conduct, simply joining the Army, just being in during war time, taking this class or that, etc.
Furthermore, what he did was entirely common over there.
I was in Fallujah for the same fight, this was every day stuff and honestly mundane. Just evidence there should be a lot more of these awards than are given. Congrats to him though.

@@williamprice2677 I was in the ONLY platoon inside of Fallujah for 5 days at TCP1. 40 of us held off the entire city, ALONE. THEN they started clearing from the north while we stayed in the center of the city and they pushed everything towards us. Our unit received a Naval Unit Comendation and Valorous Unit Award besides pretty much everyone getting a purple heart. We were BEHIND enemy lines the entire time with no relief. It would be an honor to shake your hand. I’m so proud of our all-volunteer service members. Love from an old Marine Sgt. Two tours Vietnam 1968 -1970. Landed in DaNang on my 19 th birthday. FOLLOWUP 3 (of 5):
The scariest people in government are NOT those that go in rich and can't be bought. The scariest people are those that go in poor and come out multi-millionaires. THEY are the people the lobbyists love. THEY are the people selling the sovereignty of this nation to the highest bidder. It's not for nothing that the most abusive mega-business owners, like Jeff Besos and Bill Gates are ALWAYS democrats. Besos and Gates count heavily upon their dem friends in power to wipe out all of their competitors that play by the rules. Why don't dem voters have the smarts to get that????? Why? Because the dem psychopaths in positions of authority are out there everyday telling their stupid constituents the obvious lie that they are the only ones in government on the side of the poor and downtrodden. They are careful not to speak a sentence without snidely throwing out one or more of the most politically useful buzz words (morality, ethics, integrity, etc) that assure their easily manipulated followers that they must indeed be standing on the moral high ground. They have actually convinced their pathetic herds that becoming filthy rich while 'serving the people' is acceptable as long as one can claim to have come from humble beginnings. While they purposefully 'obstruct' the great potential of this nation to provide wealth to EVERY law-abiding, hard-working American, they themselves roll in ill-gotten dough. What's worse is that they manage to also perpetuate the lie that the rich are morally inferior by virtue of their wealth and that the poor are virtuous because of their suffering and poverty, creating the very division that they accuse others for having caused. What an easy scam on the gullible! Yet, let's get one thing straight, while the lies the dem bureaucrats tell are unabashedly evil, the stupidity of their constituents is just as evil.
Yes, you heard me. Stupidity is a form of evil and must be judged accordingly. Why? Because self-pitying stupid people take no responsibility for the fact that they are colluding with the worst humanity has to offer to rob and hurt the lives of decent, innocent people. The majority of 'confused' dem voters are people that demand love and respect for themselves but never learn to give it in return. They have convinced themselves that their commercializable pain is the hallmark of sensitivity when, of course, it is just the hallmark of narcissistic immaturity. These are people who believe they are somehow exempt from having to live according to the rules of fair play, always seeking out their UNDESERVED ADVANTAGES instead, never caring about the injustices that must be perpetrated to provide them. These are people glued to the dem masters that know how to expertly nurse their mean-spirited desire to even up some historical scoreboard so that they never have to open their eyes to the pain and devastation they are causing in the lives of people that only want to do right in this generation, people that most often have far more to offer for the greater good than those that wish to prevent them. That's why.
SO TO ALL GOOD AMERICANS WHO STILL CARE ABOUT THE GREAT PRINCIPLE OF LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL, FOR THE RICH AND THE POOR, FOR THE AMERICAN AND FOR THE STRANGER AMONG US, IT IS HIGH TIME TO CALL FOR THE JUDGMENT TO BEGIN.
WE have no reason to fear and we do have a great nation to save.

WHAT WE ARE FIGHTING TO PROTECT:
You may not know this yet but it is the JUDEO-CHRISTIAN ETHIC that unites ALL good Americans. Many, many atheists have laid down their lives to protect it. In fact, many of the best defenders of the Christ mission have no interest in participating in the Christian faith. Certainly the holocaust survivors and their descendants continue to defend the ethic. Read on to understand the great principle that has made the United States of America exceptional above all others:
      __________________________
While a nation that separates church and state can function, a nation that rejects basic Judeo-Christian principles is destined to devolve into banana republicanism. There certainly were deists among our Christian forefathers but they too embraced biblical morality because they understood it to be the highest of human aspirations.
These are the 'Christian' principles that made this nation 'exceptional', protected us from corruptive practices and gave us the hope of LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL for many generations. You would do well to know and value them:
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: THOU SHALT NOT RESPECT THE PERSON OF THE POOR, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour. Leviticus 19:15
Ye shall have ONE MANNER OF LAW, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 24:22
The end of our republic must begin with the fracturing of its SOCIAL CONTRACT, the ONE LAW for ALL unifying principle. Why is that? Because when the laws become skewed to place the most amoral, the least talented and the least trustworthy personalities ahead of the more deserving the problem is that these people are simply not equipped to preserve the system of equality that better men and women fought, bled and died to give us.
A system of MERITOCRACY is the hallmark of a functioning republic. Ours was intended to be a nation grounded in the vision of EQUAL OPPORTUNITY for EVERY CITIZEN. Of course, we have been an admittedly unperfected work in progress for generations but, nevertheless, this vision has been humanity's greatest pride. Today it is being threatened with the secular vision of MATERIAL equity for all regardless of social contribution. This is the first step towards the return to a Dark Age tyranny that limits the hope of individual aspiration and allows the marginal access to positions of authority.
Remember this, human glory has always been the gift of a very talented few forging the way for the masses to benefit. There is nothing wrong with hierarchy as long as each and every human being has the right to express themselves to their fullest potential, that is, until and unless they prevent their neighbor from doing so as well. For this very reason we must have the Judeo-Christian principles in place to protect every one of us.
What we are experiencing today, however, is that an elitist few are demanding the controlled leveling of both mind and speech from the many that they perceive to be beneath them. A situation has been purposefully contrived in which the most morally insightful individuals in our nation are being routinely shouted down by self-pitying, arrogantly amoral masses that are undeservedly attempting to perpetrate a national theft against these well-intentioned people. The forefathers established this nation as a republic to prevent this very situation which they rightly described as 'tyranny of the majority'.
The ONLY THING that will save what is left of our republic is the return to the Judeo-Christian principles outlined above. However, don't worry, in a nation grounded upon these principles you can still choose to live out your secularism in total peace. While the Islamic god, Allah, demands 'submission' from all of humanity, Judeo-Christianity at its core is about the struggle to preserve the conditions of freedom that allow each man and woman to CHOOSE THEIR OWN DESTINY. THAT'S the point.
