    I go to Guadalajara every year, and usually spend a few days in Manzanillo, I've never had an issue, if your not apart of that cartel world, for the most part you won't see anything. Unless your at the clubs bragging and showing off you got money, yeah you'll probably be robbed or even killed. Be low key and humble, enjoy Mexico, everything will be fine.

      I just CANNOT believe Zamora is now ranked as the most dangerous. My mother is from Zamora, Mich (actually born in Villamar). As kids we used to visit there by car. Then we immigrated to Canada. We still visited mom's birthplace in 1985, 1991, 93 and 2007. Still it seemed quite lovely but of course more congested. Now I want to take my own family to visit their grandma's place of birth for 2024 and I am now very scared and concerned. Probably it will have to be a no-go! Very sad to hear this!

    Sad to see such a great country in such trouble. In the early 70’s I travelled throughout Mexico for 2 months with my parents. We drove from Alberta, Canada down to Mexico in a 1965 Mercedes 220S, camping in a tent, going places tourists never went. We made friends with the locals and took them with us on excursions as my parents were fluent in Spanish. We never got sick and never had any trouble at all. We stayed 10 days in a campground beside the beach in Manzanillo placing our canvas tent under the grass roof. That campground is now a huge resort and the city is not the quaint little place we visited. I will remember Mexico for what it was 50 years ago. The cartels have ruined a great nation and spoiled a wonderful culture. And for what?

    • @AJMSTUDIOSvideo
      @AJMSTUDIOSvideo  3 года назад +6

      That is some wonderful memories you shared and I really enjoyed reading it. Mexico is much different from than as you pointed out, and it's changed a lot even from ten years ago! There has ben a lot of positive change, as well as continued issues due to the Cartels and other things. Cartels do it for the money and the power, and it's a shame because it ruins so much for other people in the process. Thanks again for sharing your experiences! Was the Benz a diesel one?

    • @lbs7774
      @lbs7774 3 года назад +4

      You can still do that. The cartels are bad but they haven't ruined the country as you say. Mexico is still a great country to visit. It has ruined the international image of us but it's definitely not like you can't travel to Mexico anymore.

      Sad to see emerica less safe then Canada and Mexico and Brazil , now u have to really kiss your kids and wife and parents , cause u don’t know if you’re gonna get killed by the cops or in a mass shooting because that’s the new norm now , it’s so sad that cartels have to keep bringing drugs across the border so that Americans can function, but the government says it’s the cartel that are killing the people with the drugs, cmon government, if you can stop drug addiction in america then cartels don’t have no market for them in America, but this is been going on for decades even Ronald Reagan let the cia cell dope in the

    • @AJMSTUDIOSvideo
      @AJMSTUDIOSvideo  3 года назад +3

      Great question. Matamoros across from Brownsville, TX had 44 murders at a rate of 8.1 per 100k. Within the city limits, it's pretty safe having a homicide rate that is fairly low for cities on drug routes. One par with many US cities.
      Reynosa had 137 homicides at a rate of 20 per 100k. Bigger city, more homicides. Again, this only counts known homicides and not the loss of life that hasn't been accounted for by authorities. Hope that helps. :)

      You can day trip to several smaller more real mexico towns and beaches from cancun.
      Depending on your time, merida is colonial and has a bunch of tours that are much cheap then in Cancun and more of them. Go Swim in a cenote. Buses run all day and its about 2-3 hours from cancun.
      If you have a week or so go to palenque. Its in the jungle and there are monkeys all around and pretty waterfalls. The ruins are awesome there and the town is pretty native American. Loved it. Cooler weather too.
      Don't book to many tours or excursions from here. You can ask at your hotel or other people for a good tour company in town. Most will be about half the price. Also many places there like waterfall, cenotes and ruins had colectivo buses that are really cheap to get to them. Chichen itza is cool but expensive for ruins and there are many vendors as you walk around. It does take away fron the experience so maybe find another ruins less traveled to also go to if your into that.
      There are many tours from merida to ruins and then a swim in a cenote.

That number increases thought when you look at the high murder rate in the cities around Coatzacoalcos. That could artificially inflate the numbers since it is probably in the local news all the time. Nearby Minatatlan and Auga Dulce have much higher homicide rates and very high murder rates, meaning there is a lot of killing in that region.

Moreover, I have often been acquainted with Mexicans who were on various different sides of the law, and I keep up to date on what is really happening in these cities as well as others. While I respect the statistical evidence given, and I do not take issue with it, the fact that some two million Americans and Canadians live willingly in Mexico with limited exposure to this kind of violence speaks for itself. And yes, I do cringe at your pronunciation of Mexican place names. Poor old Guaymas especially takes a hit, as do Tijuana (it's "tee-whana") and Celaya.

      Yeah, La Biblia is right; it's all women's fault (and some men who "abandoned the natural use of women") Scary. If I even wonder into a dark Mexican alley, I prefer to bump into El Chapo rather than you!

    See lay yuh? It is pronounced say lah
    yuh though. How can you know what you are talking about when you can’t even get the pronunciation done decently?

      Very easily. Spanish isn't my native language. But research in demographics, sociology, and criminology can be studied and read by anyone. Just because someone who only speaks one language and is well studied in their field, doesn't make them less knowledgeable if they can't pronounce a name not in their native tongue.

      @@AJMSTUDIOSvideo That is very unconvincing. Tea Juana is not Tea- uh- Juana. Not to know that displays such an ignorance about Mexico that it really negates all your blah blah blah. Like your bs about Rosarito being taken over by Russian mobsters et al. Last year me and my wife spent a week there in no fear whatsoever. We spent another week in Tijuana as well. Yet we cannot visit my sisters in law in another part of the country not mentioned at all by you. Whole towns of 40,000 lie in that area of Mexico that half the population fled out of a couple years back.
      You are merely promoting the US directed drug wars in Mexico and you do that out of total ignorance of Mexico. Learn some Spanish at least.
