      Yes the Canadian Liberals have been immigrating all kinds of bad cultures into this country for the past 5 decades! The whole multi cultural thing is a joke and certainly not our strength and NEVER has been or will be! It's politicians selling out our culture and country to these criminal's! Any immigrant that breaks any laws in Canada should be deported along with their entire family! Then we will see how many create gangs and crime in my country! It's not Trudeau's and it's not the immigrants they sold us out too! I'm a 6th generation Canadian and as far as I'm concerned you criminal immigrants are trespassing. Get out now!

It says if the mayor of Philadelphia has blocked them off and said let them have that land to do as they please with as long as they stay there.

    • @zeus014
      @zeus014 3 года назад +24

      Stands to reason, and there are a few things in the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD) that make this metropolis a target for crime:
      1. It's a port city, where easy access to plentiful and relatively inexpensive illicit drugs are the norm.
      2. Compared to the rest of Canada, it's a WARM city, with an annual mean temperature only four degrees Celsius colder than San Francisco. If you're a drug addict living on the streets you're far less likely to freeze to death in southwestern BC than in any other part of Canada. This attracts a larger percentage of destitute people.
      3. Southwestern BC is an ultra-left socialist region that, using tax dollars, is very generous to its welfare recipients vs. other Canadian provinces and cities. If you were a drug addict, mentally handicapped, homeless, socialist or all of the above, which Canadian city would YOU chose to settle in given all of these enticements?
      4. Even with the generous welfare cheques, money is still tight for these people, and does not meet the financial cost of their addictions even after taking into consideration the percentage of those cheques that was earmarked for rent but instead used for drugs. How you you suppose these people make up this financial short-fall every month? By committing thefts and fencing the goods of course, among other strategies. That's why it's the property crime capital. I lived there for 18 years and had my car stolen twice and broken into more times than I could count.

      My point is that, due to warmer climes, generous welfare cheques and cheaper drugs Vancouver has been a magnet for addicts who want to avoid freezing to death, get more generous welfare cheques and cheaper/more plentiful drugs. This drives both property crime and gang activity through the roof.

Can't we start up some kind of peacecorps, send people up north to build communities & get moving again?
      Of course, it would require mountains of beurocracy to create.doing almost anything is better than doing nothing, we are doing nothing & the problem is just growing

      @@michaellebreton4294 well super liberal drug policies and catering to criminals is just not working out.
      I think that working and tax paying citizens are entitled to live in safe cities without syringes and poop and mental ward patients.
      Problem is that Vancouver’s mayor has already brought up a proposal to decriminalize hard drugs in the dtes, one look at how Portland, Seattle, sf and la are doing with similar policies would tell any level headed decision maker to burn that proposal and enforce the law and if necessary put people behind bars.
      Problem is that jails are expensive and they some how came to the conclusion that it’s easier to just decriminalize street drugs.
      I have no idea which studies and data actually support an positive outcome of these policies but I’m pretty sure it’s out there, written by some SJW berkley students.

    I live in Coquitlam and was honestly shocked to hear that we're number 24. I feel quite safe here in regards to crime. Although their was a heinous sexual assault/murder nearby before I moved here back in 2005. Here in northern Coquitlam, we're far more likely to have an encounter with a bear, than with a criminal! Years ago, I was surprised to find out that Coquitlam's youth were the most likely to get into trouble (out of all the cities in the Greater Vancouver area). City council really took that seriously and invested in all types of programs to help teens focus on healthier pastimes. (Such as free youth centres, free community centre, gym and pool memberships, low cost youth programs, etc.) However, as you can see in this older photo, there are many high-rises - we now have about twice as many with more on the way. As well, the skytrain (subway system) now comes all the way out here. I really hope that these two changes don't increase the crime rate.

    The entirety of greater Vancouver is on the list, EXCEPT New Westminster. The crime central area in New West is no other than the Columbia and New West Skytrain Stations, where access to Surrey is possible. By happenstance, the police station is located near both stations, so keeping criminals and homeless people on watch is a common police task there. No one can sleep in any public area in New West, especially near the stations where they are highly patrolled.
    Oh and I almost forgot. New West had an infamous Prostitution ring back in the day. Thanks to Mayor Wayne Wright, the ridiculous crime rate of the city substantially decreased.
