Hey Pete get ahold of me, I'd def like to meet you and I'll def keep you safe cause if your in danger then I'm in danger cause we together so I'm not even trying to walk that path id rather let you see how sad, beautiful, awesome, it is in my area, there's not much, but if you wanna get a look at life from a whole different perspective and make you feel extra glad that you live in USA , this will do that for you... Great place to visit but living here it's a bunmer in many ways, hard working genuine good people , who just get it up the rear from the govt or lack of... But in the end well you'll see, most are poor In this area but if you need help I guarantee you'll get help faster here then if you were back home in usa in a city where everyone just pulls their phone out whem someone needs help... Positive and negative everywhere nobody or no place is perfect but its beautiful I can tell you that. And your not far far .. I think it could tie in nice from the big city aspect to the opposite end , where I be .. far from city life...
For those of you wondering, Lalo is indeed doing tours. I am in CDMX now (Nov. 2023) and my family (all adults) had a wonderful day with him yesterday. We ended up walking around 8 miles total, including climbing up the Chapultepec hill to the castle. We went over 5 hours including a nice lunch. Took a bus and Uber when time got tight. Worth every penny!
I just offered him several hundred dollars via his insta without asking him what he charged. He got back to me and we set up a date to meet in front of the palace of fine arts near the city center. He did an excellent job although he doesn’t do the sketchy parts of the city anymore.
so Mexico City really seems to be very accepting of Americans that visit and also want to relocate to Mexico? I want to move there, just received my US passport
Lalo is probably the most genuine and honest person I’ve ever seen in these videos. His sincerity and honest take on the current situation in Mexico is so spot on. There is no bravado, political take, or hidden agenda in his assessment of the things he is describing. The sign of a true good person. He sees life through clear eyes. Amazing. I would love to visit Mexico City again and have a meal with him one day.
Best guide? Subjective topic, he barely knows his country. I understand Mexico is huge but there’s always room for improvement. That would be my only criticism
I think he's great. He's discovering things at the same time as Peter, he's also being honest about it whenever he doesn't know something. I live in Mexico City, and I generally dislike watching videos of youtubers with guides who try to oversell the city/country by romanticizing it. This dude is very matter of fact. I started watching this video expecting to hate it but i actually really liked it thanks to the guide.
Born, raised and currently living in Mexico City and this is the first video I see that shows the real city and the real people, not just the fancy tourist places. Love it
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this video! I am from the UK but have always been fascinated by Mexico and would love to visit one day. Lalo was so friendly, knowledgeable and open. Great, great video! Thank you.
Mexico is my favorite country in the world. The friendliest, most generous, outgoing people in the world. The history, the culture, the food, the people are amazing. I know it has it's big issues but that still doesn't take away from how awesome the country is.
I agree, the thing I really fell in love with in Mexico even being Mexican and visiting it since I’m born and raised in America was just the architecture and feeling I got being there. I’m very sued to the food and culture already since I’m Mexican even if it’s a watered down version of Mexico but I learned to love the bright buildings and stores, how most cities have a centro or zocalo where they all look very similar with the city name in big letters and a very clean park and shops around it. The beauty of the churches and just the way the streets are whether they are made from stones or pebbles or bricks. There’s just a lot going on with the way the cities look and then in between some of the old looking shops, you will have beautiful little restaurants or hotels.
What areas do you recommend for families? I've been to Mexico 4 times, but just playa del Carmen with our kids, and cancun. Would love to explore some safer areas like Mexico City if possible.
A normal, beautiful and lively metropolis full of nice people going about their days. Yes, Mexico has its own problems like any other place does, but the Mexico portrayed by most of the western media is usually full of crap and fearmongering. They don't want people to get out of their first world bubbles and find out that there are other amazing places to live/visit. Cheers to all my mexican/latam friends.
I think the guide, Lalo, is great. He's discovering things at the same time as Peter, he's also being honest about it whenever he doesn't know something. I live in Mexico City, and I generally dislike watching videos of youtubers with guides who try to oversell the city/country by romanticizing it. This dude is very matter of fact. 1:07 might not seem like much but that man who opened the door for you is a great person for staying outside and making sure you go on your way & cross the street safely. My mother used to do that when I was a kid leaving the house or when she would drop me off at a friend's house she wouldn't drive off until she saw the door open and me enter the house safely. It could be nothing & I could just be overthinking as well, but that just reminded me of the kindness & care we have for each other. Stay safe everybody ✌️
As a Mexican from Mexico City, now living in the Mayan Riviera, this is a very good take on the city. I'm in agreement with other comments, Lalo is very much on point on the topics to describe the city, the conversations between the two are very interesting. I tend to watch videos of tourists visiting Mexico, but this one really caught my attention and consider worth of commenting; it is very positive to have a Mexican who lived abroad, which gives perspective, to describe the situation in Mexico. Congratulations.
As someone who's been to Mexico city a couple times, I've got to agree with you. I became interested in Hispanic culture after Mexico, so I decided to save up and go to Spain, since everything was much more expensive there, but worth it. I believe I rather Mexico's vibes, but I'd choose Spain in a hearthbeat to live there. The country feels rich, very rich, specially big cities, you only see high end vehicles, from beemers to lambos everywhere. Mexico on the other hand feels a bit like the US years ago, and I honestly love that as well. But as someone with kids, I'd choose Spain as I said.
@@m.m.7514I would love to go to Spain someday. How cost effective is it to retire there? I live in the U.S., and I’m really not happy with the changes that have happened here, especially since the Pandemic and a certain very well-known political leader, and am very afraid of what will very possibly happen when we have our next election next year. I will not live under a dictatorship, and I’m very afraid our country could go in that direction. Plus, our economy is in danger, and hasn’t been doing well, for The People at least, in the last few years, so that is of great concern as well. I’m looking at Mexico as I’ve been there a number of times and I love it, but would also consider other countries as well.
Lalo needs to make videos himself. These two should do more videos together. They flow and are entertaining to watch. Like talking with a good fun friend
As Mexican I can tell you that Lalo is the most antimexican thing in the world, so clasist and racist but trying not to look like that. The worst thing I have ever seen.
I've been in Mexico a few times. Never in a fancy resort or anything like that. Everyone that I met was really nice. They were good wholesome people. Maybe I was just lucky. But, I love Mexico. If I got in a tight spot, someone would offer to help me and ask for nothing in return. These folks have helped inspire me to have the same willingness to help others, in turn.
I don't think it was luck, we are generally friendly and willing to help, not because our culture makes us be always obedient and respectful but deeply not doing in from the heart (like Japan) but because we are a family oriented culture where we are always close and helping each other so even is a foreigner we would like to help without expecting something back, we genuinely want them to have a nice experience while they are in their visit, and the more far from big cities you get the more friendly people is, sadly international media just show the n4rc0s violence making it look like coming here is a death sentence when actually the 99% of us are just good people who also suffers from those problems
Also if you heard people telling you my House is your house. That means that you're very welcome in that person's house. Don't get surprised if you go to someone else's house and they offer to eat with them, that's our way to show you a great hospitality and that also part of Mexican culture.
I have been to Mexico and worked with many here in the US. They are just like anyone else, but the good people from Mexico seem to a step above. They tend to be absolutely awesome. The bad people...not so much.
I had the good fortune for living in Mexico City for several months in early 2021 and it is a GREAT city. The people are super friendly, there are tons of things to do...and the food...OMG! The food is incredible.
@@agentsmith7947 My partner and I had just sold our house and we were getting ready to move to Europe. Unfortunately, at that time, the EU wouldn't let anyone in, so, rather than rent an apartment in Los Angeles for an indefinite time...and, because LA was under lockdown, we decided to go to Mexico City and live there until the EU opened up again.
Mexican/American living in the Kansai region of Japan near Kyoto and Osaka for over 20 years. I used to live in Guadalajara before moving here. Am seriously considering a move back to the West, not the States but Mexico City. Am excited by simply considering the idea of doing so!!
CDMX is epic but people really miss out on other incredible areas that are just as safe but cheaper and without the traffic. Consider Leon, Puebla, Queretaro, Merida, San Luis Potosi, etc. Medium and large cities without megacity problems and with strong economies.
@@QuantumNoir En el centro del país no vas a encontrar economías fuertes, cada lugar que mencionaste tiene problemas de informalidad o de pobreza, o ambas.
I think Queretaro could be a good option, its nice, quiet and modern. If you are considering a bohemian posh mexican city riddled with outsiders, you can go to San Miguel
@@QuantumNoirThose City that saying are mostly for retired foreign ppl Mexico city is for young foreign ppl who actually wanna safe money to get retired. u got it?
I vacationed in CDMX last year not knowing what to expect but this city blew my mind. Truly amazing and with such rich history. This city is so underrated.
I was in Mexico City in early March and the taxi driver said that he was born and raised there and has been working as a taxi driver for 30 years now in Mexico City. He said that he still doesn’t know the city 100%. There’s still some places he’s never been too. Crazy to think how huge and sprawled out this city is
I was born in Mexico City and by the way, I was there last year exactly in that town where the “Cable bus” is. The place it’s been dangerous all the time, but when I was there, it was very quit and calm.

Texas here and i spent 2 years there studying with the University of the State of Mexico and i love this country. Traveled all over to many states and met the most amazing people, and ate some of the best food made by the sweetest abuelas. The border towns are a different story, but the reat of the country is amazing!
I'm American (EDIT: In the sense of "United States Citizen" to be more specific.) I don't know why I was always obsessed with "visiting Europe" whenever I had time/money for a vacation. I went to CDMX in 2022. It was amazing. EDIT: Folks, sorry I said "I'm American." I meant that in the sense of "of or pertaining to the country known as the United States of America."
I really recommend you to visit Queretaro City as well. It’s only 3 hours from Mexico City and it’s one of the safest, cleanest and most beautiful cities in Mexico 🖖🏽 A lot of history and culture too.
These videos are so amazing and heart warming. I never watch mainstream media anymore, because they never show anything this real. Keep up the amazing work Peter! ❤
Of all the travels I've done, Mexico City was one of the best. Amazing food, great history & museums & pyramids, strong friendly culture, and beauty everywhere.
I was born and raised in Mexico City and have not been back in 20 years now. Seeing this video, I can recognize some of it, but there is a lot that's changed ever since, when I visit it again, I know I will feel like a foreigner. Great content, thank you!
Was in Mexico City last year with my wife. We want to go back. Yes there are some rough areas (like Chicago or NYC), but there are some beautiful, wonderful, locations. We felt totally safe in Mexico City. Mexico City is a real must go to see. I also have advanced skills in speaking Castellano (Spanish)...not fluent, but advanced enough.
Lalo is a sharp, funny, intellectual with a flair for adventure. And tons of style / swagger. Totally one of the most memorable people I have seen online or offline. Very sharp listener, precise answers but also very expressive and opinionated. They should make a movie character out of Lalo from Mexico 😃
Booked a tour with Lalo for Mexico City Nov 2024. So excited as a city loving person. Live in downtown Los Angeles and travel frequently to NYC. Adding Mexico City to list and Lalo’s got that fresh city vibe🌆
I lived in Mexico City with my mother's family back in the late 1950s and 60s. A beautiful city! Wonderful climate, and the clearest blue skies. You could see the mountains surrounding from any point in the city in those days. Major film and TV production studios came from all over the world to film there. My grandfather would take me for long walks along the Ave. de la Reforma, and Chapultepec park with its colorful balloon vendors, goat cart and pony rides for the children. Mexico's best Mariachi performers would conduct open air auditions for gigs in the Plaza Garibaldi. Then we would stop for lunch at what was then the oldest restaurant in the western hemisphere Sanborn's. The city's greatest achievement was hosting the 1968 Olympic Games. I miss it very much, and remember those days every time I hear the song "Las Golondrinas." Yo recuerdo, Abuelo.
@@pacocandano Right! Too many people now. I lived there for 2 years in the late 70's, and there were too many people even back then for me! It finally wore me out, just like New York City... 😉
Let me start off by saying that there is no other city in the world as welcoming as this one! I was lucky enough to spend a few months at a time there as a kid and still remember everything! It’s culture is rich! Proud to be Mexican.
Had the privilege of spending a day with Lalo, experiencing both the history of Centro and the authentic Mexico City embodied by the streets and stalls of the Mercado de la Merced area. Truly once in a lifetime that isn't available in a guidebook, and I walked away with a friend. If you're in CDMX, time with Lalo is an absolute must.
Love this. Lalo's passion for his home really shows. Mexico City is my favorite city I've visited, and my favorite thing to do is simply walk its streets just like you did! Such a lively place!
As an aussie i got a laugh out of the main man Lalo saying australia was too quiet besides the animals trying to kill you. I think there's enough going on in the bigger cities. Mexico city looks exciting and has amazing architecture. This was an awesome grass roots video Pete.
Been to both countries a couple of time and I agree somewhat with Lalo. Australia is particularl and México is peculiar, but in terms of food, party and culture, Mexico is second to none
@@RenegadeRangathat’s a misconception! Not everything the news tells you is real. There’s only a few places that are run by cartels. Mexico has I believe 32 states. Every state is different just like in the USA
I was in MEX City by myself walking around the markets and honestly it was a great place. I felt safe and don't go where you aren't suppose to go. I don't speak Spanish but i was able to navigate the city market safely. As he said at 15:30 you gotta feel the vibe and what he said about the rich Mexican, you can spot them. They may look like they are from Spain.
That's is not a fair assessment. I'm am a white man with blue eyes but Mexican. Don't associate us with Spanish people just because some people like white.

I love both of your personalities and the Mexican dude is cool and to me he sounded refreshing, friendly, charismatic/carismático es refrescante te tener a una persona con buena vibra como tu paisano fuiste encantador con hospitalidad y carisma a tu servicio/great service.👌🏽😊😁 I love channels, people, videos that are natural and not just to do it for a like. Really enjoyed this experience through you and Lalo. Makes me interested in a city that wasn’t on my list to travel and having a connection makes this even more exciting. Will put this on the bucket list.
First greetings to all in Mexico. I'm not from Mexico, but I traveled a couple of times and I felt in love with the country and its people. When I was there I felt safe, of course you have to know where to navigate and the hours. But they make me feel so good. Hope I can return someday. Thanks Peter and Lalo for the tour.
You were lucky and got a truly knowledgeable tour guide in Lalo. He has his finger right on the pulse of what's going on in Mexico plus historical knowledge too. I agree with everything he said including the nuances of the culture that only home-grown Mexicans usually know. Thank you both for this great video tour. Hope to go back to Mexico City soon. Peter, you should travel throughout Mexico during the weeks before & during the Dia de los Muertos tradition, so mid-October through November 2nd. All of Mexico becomes the most beautiful, colorful, magical and spiritual place ever. So much beauty, so many rich traditions, so much emotion and soooo much activity. It is amazing, spectacular, deeply spiritual, unforgettable and truly unique. Then is when you see the overlap of historical Aztec and indigenous traditions spilling into Catholicism. The two belief systems are harmonious, operating side by side.
That asshole doesn't really know the city. He's just another middle-class fool who lives in a bubble in Polanco. Why do I say that? Houses don't cost one million pesos in the area he mentions. It'll be at least double. I'm really embarrassed by the ignorance of his own city.
We sold our business and home in Northern California five years ago and have been living in Bucerias Nayarit for four years. We feel very fortunate to have made that decision when we did. We have only spent a little less than a week in CDMX so far but are spending more time over Christmas and New Years this year and we can't wait! Like everyone else we were told what a dangerous place it was and we found it to be absolutely incredible. The people, the food, the architecture, the history, the culture I can go on and on!
Hands down, one of the best videos I have seen that portrays just the complexities/juxtapositions of one of the best cities in the world, CDMX. From La Condesa and Polanco to Iztapalapa and Tlalpexco. A city of so so many contrast, I really enjoyed how so much was also discussed, from the distrust of the police, corruption to the kindness of folks and walking back to your place at 4AM depending where you are at. It is perhaps the best video and most realistic portrayal of such complexities of CDMX and your friend Lalo really knows what he is talking about. I have been to CDMX many times and each time that I go, I always find something new because of just how enormous the city is. I am super excited! Thank you so much for this video!
Well done. Mexico is many different things. Like other great cities in the world, Mexico City has its good and not so good. But you learn quickly spending time there meeting folks and making friends that Mexican are damned nice people and the hospitality you’re shown is second to none. Mexico has a warm and kind face and the culture and cuisine top notch. 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Lalo was an awesome guide. I felt like I was walking right along with y’all. It was a very interesting, beautiful,& friendly. I would’ve never thought it would be. I always hear the negative about Mexico City. Thanks for sharing the tour of this amazing place Peter. Well done!💯💜🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸 👍🏾
I LOVE MEXICO! I was Lucky and had a Mexican friend who showed me around. I would move to Mexico City in a heartbeat. Thank you for another Great video Love from Norway ❤
Mexico city is at the top of my list for favorite cities. Up there with Tokyo and Ho chi Minh. Amazing food and awesome culture. People were friendly and welcoming.
This was so cool! You guys got along as if you'd been friends for years. Maybe one day I'll be able to visit Mexico and hire Lalo for a tour. I would want to go to all the places you went. Great content!
As someone who is a gringo and doesn't speak spanish besides a few phrases I can definitely say that Mexico City is a friendly and beautiful place. I wouldn't say its dangerous to a avaerage a person. I've walked through Tepito one of the more dangerous neighborhoods for many miles with no problems. Also you will see Tourists from all around the world walking the streets of CDMX. This place I think gets a very bad reputation that it doesn't deserve.
Wait a minute I hear different from other folks saying the cartel is everywhere and it’s not safe at all. I always wanted to go there but hearing all this makes me scared to go there let alone use my card there. I love the culture and food but if I don’t know anyone there then it’s gonna be tough to get around
@@TRAVELLWITHTthe media does not want you to travel to Mexico! I actually think it’s more likely to get shot in a big city in the USA than a big city in Mexico. Just don’t act stupid. I live in NYC and I have been mugged multiple times. Traveled all around Mexico and never one bad incident.
The family and I just got back from Mexico City. This video is a great representation of the city. We stayed in Juárez, in the Centro historico. Just like in this video, the streets are lined with trees, very calm atmosphere, and you really do always hear the birds chirping!
It's so refreshing to see a video like this one as opposed to the "border crisis " I hope it shows Americans that not everyone south of your borders want to move North. Many Many tens of millions of Mexicans and other central and South American people are very happy with their own way of life 😁
Very enjoyable tour! I had to grin when Lalo said he left Australia because it was the same every day - or something to that effect. I was there a few years ago, really enjoyed myself, but I kind of see his point. I'm West Coast American, very familiar with Mexican culture here and love it.
Honestly this tour was amazing. I've been to CDMX so many times and I always fall more in love with the city after every trip. This tour brings back some amazing memories from my trip. Lalo seems super chill, will definitely be thinking about contacting him on my next trip to the city.
Very sick in hospital and have not eaten solids in two weeks and for the first time I feel hungry, beautiful City, great people, wonderful food, excellent as usual Peter
“Here if you walk around I can guarantee you will always see a story. Even if you walk the same street, you’ll always see something different” Love this. Thank you for making this video showing how multifacetic and culturally rich our city is. Of course it’s nice going to all the beautiful tourist places but learning about the whole picture makes you understand a lot more about the dynamics of the city and, to me, that’s the best way to experience CDMX. ❤
That’s very true! I’m from Napa Valley, but live in NYC now and it’s very dirty and very unfriendly people. Trash everywhere and ghetto people everywhere
Beautiful City I visited in April and I was fascinated by this huge city with lots of history, culture, food and its people. If you visit this city you will love it. Really safe and nothing to worry about. I plan to visit soon and continue to visit more stuff. Mexico City is rich in history!!!
Wow, that was great! I thoroughly enjoyed this trip into Mexico City. Thank you and Lalo for the fun and informative adventure through the city.... I'll probably never be able to go, but I can still experience it to a degree this way.....Very cool!!

nahhhhhh CDMX is different... mexico has a chill vibe all over that country imo but CDMX adds that 1st world big city flair to it, super unique place and i would seriously end up moving there... the different things you can do without any snobbery from the ppl in those enviorments or cultures or cliques... you can roll up to all types of "private" music venue shows and they could care less if you are a fan of that niche genre they can tell and let you jam out with them... the food is world class but can be had for pennies on the dollar some of the best sushi outside of japan and the tacos are in a class and unique culture of their own... you dont even see many mexicans doing this in america but the hustle and bustle of that city means quick food for breakfast so they ALLLL eat tacos for breakfast, it takes some figuring out whats best for morning but they have suadero and also just a blend i forget of all the meats they have usually... theres also campechano is good too... the el pastor mannnn theres this drunk late night only spot from like 11pm-4am, 10-20c tacos all night... you can literally stuff your face for 2 dollars.

WTFFFFFF... i had to get my friend to call up the american side of things and get them to verify me and make phone call and same lady came down few days later when i went that time like ohhhh yeah we found you... and we heard you dont have any documents thats not good at all im gonna fast track you thru everything... WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCKKK?! thats what i told you the last time i was here!!!!! i didnt say that tho just got my shit and left...
I remember the first time flying in to CDMX, it seemed like you were flying over city for a very. long. time. It's huge! I spent a year in Sinaloa and a year in Southern Baja California. Mexico will always have a special place in my heart.

I really enjoyed watching this video about Mexico City - just one city with almost as many people as in my entire country! And the guide, Lalo, really made it what it is. He comes across as a truly honest, genuine, & personable/likeable guy, with a great sense of humour, & an excellent command of the English language. Who wouldn't want someone like that as a guide around Mexico City? Lalo is prepared to go almost everywhere - even to parts of the city he himself has never been before. And he helps show the country as it is - the good & the bad. As with many Latin-American & Spanish-speaking countries it is often the outgoing & friendly nature of the people themselves who really make the country what it is, from the visitor's point of view, even in some of the poorer parts of the city/country. I guess that for someone who had gone to live in Australia for 7 years, from a place like Mexico City - Australia would indeed seem very dull, quiet & uneventful, compared with the usual hustle, bustle & continuous action of a place like Mexico City, with all its contrasts. I loved Lalo's joke about Australia only being interesting if you live close to nature & those dangerous, wild animals that might kill you - I guess that would have creates the excitement he was missing! Thanks for showing us around your home city, Lalo - a great tour!
I am so glad i discovered this amazing channel. You sre one of the best interviewers of all time. People reveal their inner self, which is so much more interesting than any string of words.
Anybody who thinks of Mexico city or any city in Mexico as a village with dirt streets obviously has no relative capacity to actually think.. I love unpaved villages also.. Sadly most "'white chickens" as Lalo called them, or untraveled gringos have so many misconceptions about Mexico,, same people have misconceptions about California,, Sometimes i am asked why are so many street, city, town names in California in Spanish.. I can only teach or remind them that California was part of Mexico and Spain far longer than it's been a part of the US. Spanish culture, people and lifestyles are still quite prevalent here as it is in much of the Southwest US. I just wish our cities & the people within them were more colorful and vibrant like Mexico city or most cities IN Mexico, central and south America Asia ,India and Africa..Europe and the US seem like gray zones, static office colors that match their clothing & sullen faces..
As a Mexican raised in the US and now planning to finally move back to my culture I wasn’t familiar with how many US citizens are moving to Mexico and it makes me nervous, specially because the prices of the locals they are lot of them fight hard to have a good life just to have the prices rise and salaries stay the same because of foreigners. So I definitely appreciate you spreading this information and I hope it reaches many people. I hope when I finally move to Mexico I’ll have lots of good experiences. Can’t wait!
Before thinking about moving to another country, you should visit the embassies for the country you want to move to. Otherwise you would be an illegal immigrant. If you get caught living without legal papers, you will be fined $10,000. Dollars from the Mexican immigration Department.
First of your videos I have watched and I really appreciate the questions you ask and how you go about getting to know the city, Lalo needs his own channel, what a genuine guy!
Mexico City is one of the safest cities I've ever lived in. Like, if you want to find danger you'd have to go looking for it. Not as dangerous as Portland or Memphis or even Cancun.
Thank you for your awesome video Peter. I learned a lot about Mexico City. Lalo is an amazing tour guide. He is on to something here. The sky tram ride to the favela was very interesting and informative. Peter, your videos always highlight the vibrancy of cities , their history, and their humanity. Learning about Mexico City through your video gave me the urge to go visit. May you continue to enlighten us with your videos. May you find peace and humanity wherever your travels take you. Altitude sickness and the 1985 earthquake were deal breakers, but I was born in Chicago, so Acapulco worked for me for over 61 years, but earthquakes were the deal breakers. I relocated to Queretaro in 2021, and I love this beautiful city. You still must be alert, no matter where you live, and especially as a female and a senior.
I’ve been to Mexico City a few times but have not experienced as much as you did Peter! This was very informative and entertaining. You two have a great vibe! Hanks for doing this!
I LOVE Mexico City, one of my absolute favourite cities in the world. So happy to see you're doing some videos there. It's such a beautiful and interesting place.
Lalo is cool. great video, love Mexico. This is probably one of the best channels on youtube about places and its people. Great content, carry on Peter, big follower here.
This needs to have more views, and thank you for bringing up the whole cartel situation. The American media loves to push this narrative that the Mexican cartel is responsible for so many bad things in Mexico, and the reason why tourists should avoid visiting Mexico….but your video shows what’s really happening in an non-biased way,
There’s another channel called “En Los Zapatos de Monica”, she’s from Spain but lives in Mexico and she speaks in Spanish but if you watch it with subtitles, you hardly realize you are watching it in Spanish. She has done several videos on Mexico City and plenty other cities around there. She experiences a lot as far as the attractions and food and everything else so it’s cool to see what the cities actually offer.
A+ video! Your guide Lalo is tops. My only impressions of Mexico City were formed by old worn-out books with B&W pictures when I took Spanish back in high school during the 1960s. However, this presentation is so colorful and vivid, it's almost like I was there with you! And whoever thought up the idea of the cable cars to get around town was a genius.
👋Thanks for watching!

Would you mind telling us the cost and how we can book him for tour guides? I will be going in January.
I just offered him several hundred dollars via his insta without asking him what he charged. He got back to me and we set up a date to meet in front of the palace of fine arts near the city center. He did an excellent job although he doesn’t do the sketchy parts of the city anymore.
haven't watched vid but good on u for letting people know
What’s his instagram?
so Mexico City really seems to be very accepting of Americans that visit and also want to relocate to Mexico? I want to move there, just received my US passport
Lalo is probably the most genuine and honest person I’ve ever seen in these videos. His sincerity and honest take on the current situation in Mexico is so spot on. There is no bravado, political take, or hidden agenda in his assessment of the things he is describing. The sign of a true good person. He sees life through clear eyes. Amazing. I would love to visit Mexico City again and have a meal with him one day.
Couldn't agree more!
1000 % right on. What a charming nice hombre. I will contact him if I would go to the city.
He works in marketing so he is very well versed in impression management no surprise there

He would crush it with a RUclips channel
Yeah he was pretty awesome. It's crazy how many people don't know they have a gift for making content. He should start a tok tik

Thank you.
Welcome to Mexico 🇲🇽
I've traveled quite a bit and Mexico is definitely one of my favourites. Will visit again soon.
Totally agree, I’m also amazed on how clean the streets are. At least the ones in this videos.

My mom did too...and I always did it for my kids.
Awww❤
Yes that was very good of that man he is watching out for him
I noticed that right away too.
It's just being a good person. But I guess not everyone is.

Like talking with a good fun friend
yes, correct
As Mexican I can tell you that Lalo is the most antimexican thing in the world, so clasist and racist but trying not to look like that. The worst thing I have ever seen.

Right
I've been in Mexico a few times.
Don't get surprised if you go to someone else's house and they offer to eat with them, that's our way to show you a great hospitality and that also part of Mexican culture.
hahahaha you were lucky? wtf. Mexico has 127 million habitants and you think you were lucky? that's how people are here.

Thank you for another Great video
Love from Norway ❤
Gets gooooo!!
Many Many tens of millions of Mexicans and other central and South American people are very happy with their own way of life 😁
That's true, and i think that most of migrants dont really want to leave but HAVE to, just to survive economically and sometimes literally.
It smells of self righteousness in here...
Reverse migration..
Thinking of retiring in Mexico. California too expensive, high taxes and is not as safe...
Very enjoyable tour! I had to grin when Lalo said he left Australia because it was the same every day - or something to that effect. I was there a few years ago, really enjoyed myself, but I kind of see his point. I'm West Coast American, very familiar with Mexican culture here and love it.
Lalo is a natural storyteller, a gregarious, articulate and enthusistic guide. I'm in for a tour!
Honestly this tour was amazing. I've been to CDMX so many times and I always fall more in love with the city after every trip. This tour brings back some amazing memories from my trip. Lalo seems super chill, will definitely be thinking about contacting him on my next trip to the city.
Peter and Lalo touring the city, what a pleasure to tag along! Lalo you are a natural tour guide.
Very sick in hospital and have not eaten solids in two weeks and for the first time I feel hungry, beautiful City, great people, wonderful food, excellent as usual Peter
I hope that you are feeling better!!!! ❤️
Hope you're doing well. 🙏
All you need is love. I hope you get well soon. I send you a big hug!
Hope you’re doing good now 👍
i hope you are ok. Im sick as well.
How to cotract you?
I really enjoyed this one. Great job. Super good guy with you this time. Be safe brother.
surprised to see what a clean city it is considering it is huge. nicer than most American cities
Yes, appears a very clean city considering as you say.
I think they are trying to break the city up into a bunch of smaller cities/areas of their own.
@@DanielHerrera-rl1vw Sounds a good way to go about it!
That’s very true! I’m from Napa Valley, but live in NYC now and it’s very dirty and very unfriendly people. Trash everywhere and ghetto people everywhere
They are only showing the good, you can do the same in the US, just show the touristy good areas
Beautiful City I visited in April and I was fascinated by this huge city with lots of history, culture, food and its people. If you visit this city you will love it. Really safe and nothing to worry about. I plan to visit soon and continue to visit more stuff. Mexico City is rich in history!!!
Muy bien hecho Lalo y Peter, me encantó el tour!❤❤❤ 🇲🇽🇺🇸
I would pay him good for a tour of Mexico City! Great guy. What a great show today! ❤️
Wow, that was great! I thoroughly enjoyed this trip into Mexico City.
Thank you and Lalo for the fun and informative adventure through the city.... I'll probably never be able to go, but I can still experience it to a degree this way.....Very cool!!
This was one of your best videos to date Peter. Lala is such a cool, chilled out guy and he's the kind of guy that you could go for a beer with. I would happily watch another hour of you guys walking through Mexico City together
This was amazing, you two are fantastic 😁Being from Australia my views of what Mexico City would b like … is nothing like this 😁what a beautiful place 😁 I didn’t want the story to finish 🤣interviewing locals was also fantastic😁 rarely I’ll comment but this is worthy .. 10/10
Just normal people, doing normal things things for normal reasons. Not much different then anyone else living in any big city on the planet. Nice to have some positive affirmation of that. We rarely see the normal of things in media these days. Thanks Peter and Lalo for taking the time to share with us this inside view of Mexico City. God Bless.
Mexico city is also way safer than any other mexican, especially places like Tijuana, Juarez, Acapulco etc
nahhhhhh CDMX is different... mexico has a chill vibe all over that country imo but CDMX adds that 1st world big city flair to it, super unique place and i would seriously end up moving there... the different things you can do without any snobbery from the ppl in those enviorments or cultures or cliques... you can roll up to all types of "private" music venue shows and they could care less if you are a fan of that niche genre they can tell and let you jam out with them... the food is world class but can be had for pennies on the dollar some of the best sushi outside of japan and the tacos are in a class and unique culture of their own... you dont even see many mexicans doing this in america but the hustle and bustle of that city means quick food for breakfast so they ALLLL eat tacos for breakfast, it takes some figuring out whats best for morning but they have suadero and also just a blend i forget of all the meats they have usually... theres also campechano is good too... the el pastor mannnn theres this drunk late night only spot from like 11pm-4am, 10-20c tacos all night... you can literally stuff your face for 2 dollars.
@@HIGH_noon It sounds incredibly fascinating. Maybe it was the narrow perspective of the camera that made it feel "normal" it can't capture all of the peripheral activity. Thank you for sharing your perspective. God Bless.
What an amazing guide. Thank you, Lalo.
My hometown 💕. I spent the first 20 years of my life in this beautiful city, 64 years ago. It will always be in my heart. Lalo was wonderful.
Saludos.
We are from UK and visited last year,it’s a brilliant city and felt very safe, looking to visit again soon.
super safe... 2 problems and im an american i ran into were 2 greedy cops one time got 20USD from me and i got my backpack ran thru by a "cousin" of the airbnb owner in Condesa of all places. LOL
@@HIGH_noon aleast he got a dub and not your life, be thankful
@@lenseofanomad FACTS they werent gonna kill me tho... its well known that all the normal police try to finnesse bribes wherever they can... just was bad luck and being dumb gringo, i had a beer can in public which is technially not allowed but not enforced but i walked right past like 10-20 cops just chillen in cafe/plaza area at like 12am so they beelined after me knowing they could scare me outta some money LOL
I was just there a few weeks ago. Incredible city, crazy traffic that somehow functions, fantastic tacos (surprisingly really good Thai food as well), I stayed in the Cuauhtémoc neighborhood and felt safe the whole time. Roma and Condesa are also very nice.
I love the Cuauhtemoc neighborhood.
CDMX had the best japanese sushi restaurant ive ever been too outside of japan... and it was like 1/3 of anything "legit" you'd find in the states like LA or NYC... they have many actually because its a gastro city and you will find unique mix of mexican high cuisine and japanese/sushi... i literally was going every night the staff started joking about how i will eventually start working there bcuz i knew the whole process to a T, i just sit down w/o even waiting like most ppl and start chatting with the cook/chef that day, the waiter bartender didnt even have to ask he knew to pop a bottle of cheap but quality sake and two shots cuz we'd all be drinking LOL
the whole "dangerous" vibe is imo from the ppl that are actually from there kinda like ppl from NYC they would say the hood/ghetto/projects are super dangerous and to do this and not do that and they would NEVER go to that area but if a tourist went thru that being friendly the black ppl chillin would actually embrace and get a kick outta some weird person walking thru...
i went thru all the areas of CDMX from high end rich to the cartel barrios... you will find some dodgy ppl in those barrios but if you show fear like they said they pounce like predators but thats just life there but if you can hold a convo in spanish and use hood slang and drink/smoke/snort they will take you on some WILD adventures and ill be honest they couldve robbed me at any point and never even tried it...
you wanna know the 2 bad things that happened to me in CDMX, being a dumb gringo drunk with open container and walked thru like cop cafe area where they hung out, two followed me and bullied me into an alley at like 1am demanding i pay or go to scary mexican jail, luckily i didnt have my passport or large money i already spent it lol... i had like 20-30 USD but i finnessed them and got emotional almost crying, im a guy btw lol, like pleasssseeee here its all i have and slid 10 dollars in pesos out w/o them noticing and just took off running... they spoke perfect english btw, i heard one say in spanish tho "go see what hotel he goes to"... cuz that was a known hotel street, they wanted to hit me again another night im guessing but luckily i was checking out the next day and went to different area but it wasnt even scary just annoying cuz they wouldnt let me leave alley w/o money they kept boxing me in LOL... the even CRAZIER thing was i got my backpack ran thru by the "cousin" of the airbnb host in the rich neighborhood of Condesa... for 2 days everything was fine and there was security guard on ground level, we were on 3rd floor shit i left my door unlock those 2 days/nights with ZERO problems dude seemed cool and even smoked a joint with me the 1st day i got there... i came back kinda drunk one night passed out and in the morning went to grab some cash out my bag and ALLLLL my cash was gone, PESOS and USD... luckly i had a 100USD bill hidden for emergencies but they took my cards and my passport too... i knew it was his bitch ass cousin tho cuz there was obv no breakin AND they left my laptop and the backpack itself, thats a bitch move, i had the most stressful 2 weeks before i was able to get money routed to me and a flight home...
dont even wanna talk about how Embassy made me wait 3 hours, gave them all my info TWICE and a lady came down cuz i had no documents to prove who i was but i gave them all the security check info to prove it was me... for 3 FUCKING HOURS I SAT OUTSIDE in the waiting areas not even allowed to go into the US embassy part for her to come out and say sorry we cant find you in the system... WTFFFFFF... i had to get my friend to call up the american side of things and get them to verify me and make phone call and same lady came down few days later when i went that time like ohhhh yeah we found you... and we heard you dont have any documents thats not good at all im gonna fast track you thru everything...
Always enjoyable watching your videos Peter, you are a master at what you do! Mexico City looks like an amazing city, very impressed!
A most enjoyable video. Great interaction between both of you. Thank you very much. Mexico City is amazing.
Lalo is awesome. Love that he is always smiling. What an informative, intelligent, and nice man.
I really feel like I should be paying for this sort of content. You never cease to impress me Peter, this one hits a new all time best for me !
I’m really looking forward for future videos like this about cities around the world.
Really love every bit of it !
I like this host, he's so kind, enthusiastic and you can tell he loves his city x
Loved your comments on Lalo as well as all of it. You said it all perfectly. Thank you.👍🏼🙏🏼✌🏽🙂💯💯
I'm not good at saying good comments...but I'm learning...from people like you. My best to you always, stay safe. 🌹🙏🏼❣🙂✌🏽💯💯
How to contract you?
I am so glad i discovered this amazing channel. You sre one of the best interviewers of all time. People reveal their inner self, which is so much more interesting than any string of words.
Glad you’re showing folks the many angles of Mexico. It ain’t just a dirt village (which I love), like many people think of Mexico.
You have to be an ignorant to believe all that crap
Peter, another incredible video of an amazing city. Your guide for this was one of my favorite guides that you have ever had!
You are sharing the most pertinent content of all from all cultures of people. Keep up the good work Peter.
Manuel Salinas

🌞 Very nice video! Thank you Peter and Lalo for showing us Mexico City! 🙏
Thanks for this video, it feels great seeing it and remembering back on my stay in Mexico City. Also Lalo is an awesome guy!
Hey Lalo was great! Gracias Lalo & thanks for this vid! ✌🏼🇨🇦
This needs to have more views, and thank you for bringing up the whole cartel situation. The American media loves to push this narrative that the Mexican cartel is responsible for so many bad things in Mexico, and the reason why tourists should avoid visiting Mexico….but your video shows what’s really happening in an non-biased way,
Are you from America? Can I invite me to America to live in America from Iraq😢
Well. ..the cartel IS bad. So there's that
Lalo was the only biased talking shit about the people.
Such a great video! I've always wanted to visit Mexico City and now I feel like I have partially and now I want to really go.
@@James_Edward59 I think León can understand spanish
I really dug Lalo. I would love to see more Mexico videos with him as your guide.
This was truly one of the best videos I've ever watched on RUclips. Awesome job by both of you. 👍
