That's what they should have done in the first place. The whole ghost hunting thing works better in a bigger place, like that tv show fear on mtv back in the day. Plus, Smith's Grove was Michael's other home.
I'm gonna be honest with everybody right now and say... Busta Rhymes is the sole reason why I've watched Resurrection more than twice. 😅 He's the best thing about the entire movie imo and I don't know what that says about me.
I honestly think most of the Halloween sequels are weak or average movies compared to the first. Halloween 8 is a stupid movie but if you can just embrace the silly factor you can have fun with it.
I’d love to see a sequel to Halloween four and H2O where John has to hunt his half sister Jamie, who is the new form of the shape and it’s killing people in a clown outfit
Another proposed follow up to Resurrection was a Halloween crossover with Hellraiser. Since Dimension saw how much money Freddy Vs. Jason made and wanted to do their own, and saw that they owned the rights to both franchises. At one point Clive Barker and John Carpenter were on board with the crossover.
At that Time John Carpenter would have been open to having a cucumber rammed up his backside for a good paycheck. I love the guy but this was around the time he allowed The Fog to get bastardized with its remake so he wasn’t exactly being a steward for his past works
From what I heard with Halloween Retribution Moustapha Akkad the person who bought the rights for Halloween from John Carpenter and Debra Hill was sadly killed in a 2005 Amman Bombing and thus decided instead of going the sequel route to instead go the reboot route
Ah Man Halloween: Retribution Would've Sound So Good On The Big Screen. It Would've Made A Better Sequel Then Resurrection And That Godawful Rob Zombie's Take On Michael Myers.
The Halloween Ends disaster left a bitter taste. The Halloween 2018, even Halloween Kills (without the hospital scene) was good. I hope when someone reboot this series they take it on a different direction.
This sounds like a much better sequel than Resurrection probably deserved. I would have dug it, I didn't like how they just forgot Laurie's son existed and never closed that off.
Not going to lie, I would have dug this sequel. I’m probably one of the few that enjoyed resurrection in spite of its flaws and it would have been interesting to see this realized.
Can’t wait to bring this lost sequel to life. As a long time Halloween Resurrection fan and fan of the series in general. After reading the original script which was only a first draft we knew changes & adjustments needed to be made to make the existing script even better and more coherent. Me and my good friend believe we succeeded in not only improving the existing script but definitely tell a compelling story that should’ve been on the silver screen in 2004.
I hope that the A 24 Halloween project is a show about Hartnett's character from H20 as a new Loomis going town to town trying to stop Myers. Maybe add a Hereditary/Ninth Gate nuanced approach to the Thorn Cult for a season finale too?
I think I remember reading this script somewhere, Freddy gets killed the first 10 minutes, and someone shows up with a rocket launcher in the end. They definitely should have utilized the Smith's Grove location in Resurrection from the get-go. The "ghost hunting" concept was hot at the time with the MTV show fear. It would have worked better at Michael's 2nd home better than his childhood house.
@darensparks micheal was barely in the movie it introduced and focused on a new character. It showed the embodiment of evil be wrestled to the ground by Corey, it's like they couldn't make up their minds on whether or not micheal was supernatural or just a guy, the final fight between micheal and Laurie was way too short. I have no problem with micheal dying at the end, but man, the movie was a mess, Alison and Corey acting like they've been dating for years instead of just "hey, we just met". In my opinion, it was very dumb
@@DavidNovak13 Okay I understand some of your takes, I think the reason Micheal was taken down so easily was simply because he'd been living in the sewer for quite awhile and because he hadn't killed anyone for a long time it somehow weakened him like we get weak when we don't eat for a long stretch of time. That's the best explanation I can come up with anyway. I assume he is still supernatural because of the beating he took in 2018 Halloween which no human could survive. I took the Corey character as an homage to Daniel Harris in the end of 4 where it looked like she would join her uncle as he passed the force inside him onto her eventually and when Micheal dies they continue to kill until they pass it on to someone else. However, they killed Corey so that ended that premise.
@darensparks At least Jamie Lloyd turning evil would have made sense. She was his niece. Yes, micheal gaining strength from killing and his endurance would mean he's supernatural, they even had Laurie say the more he killed the more he transcends, but to then back peddle on that and have her say, oh nevermind micheal you're just a guy in a mask, come to think of it, Corey says that too when he takes the mask. The majority of people hated ends, which is why I think they're already moving ahead with selling the rights to miramax to pump out another movie so we all forget that bullshit
Wasn't Smith's Grove like 100 miles from Haddonfield? And, sure, it occasionally snows in the Midwest on Halloween... but not with any significant accumulation and certainly not with frozen lakes or ponds. Oh well.
Since the canon Michael is gone now I think it’s time for the Thorn timeline to come back,COT is the strongest shape and the only one still alive. I would also love to see the H20 timeline to also be brought back. Both are good ideas since we don’t have to worry about Jamie Lee Curtis since In both timelines Laurie is dead
I would've liked this sequel and I'm probably one of the few who would've loved it if they'd tied H20 in with the rest of the movies because I actually kind of dug the Thorn storyline (though a little better fleshed out would've been nice) I also thought it would've been relatively easy, storyline wise, to do but this sequel seems awesome and I'd've loved to see Josh Hartnet return to the franchise.
Shocking and intriguing that you've had Halloweens in Michigan with snow. I have lived in mid Michigan since birth, and I've only seen rain on Halloween's. A definite stark location based weather contrast. I wonder if you're in the upper part of Michigan?
the concept of halloween during snow fall reminds me of wisconsin halloweens of my youth the visual of the shape in a all white background like snow creeps me out
This would have been AWESOME!!! I know the Akkad's had this clause that Michael can't die, but he died in the 18 timeline, and while I don't like to acknowledge it's existence, the Rob Zombie timeline. The original 7 films never got a definitive conclusion. Hell, the only one of the original timelines I feel could have been a "definitive" conclusion, would be the end of 6 Producer's Cut. Watching Michael walk out of Smith's Grove in the Man in Black clothing, looking back at the camera briefly, I took that as "It's done. I have killed my family, and I am now free of Smith's Grove and Thorn." He then lives happily ever after. Though another thing I like to tie into it is that Michael thinks that Lori faked her death in 4, and decides to investigate, and that is what leads to H20.
"I know the Akkad's had this clause that Michael can't die," That was Moustapha Akkad... and he's dead now, so he can't enforce it. There were no real "Akkads" driving the Halloween series. It was Moustapha. If Moustapha Akkad were still alive, "Halloween Ends" would've been very different, because he was the only person with the balls to tell Jamie Lee Curtis "no." She was trying to pull the shit she pulled on "Ends" way back in H20 and Moustapha stopped her. " that is what leads to H20." The screenplay of H20 heavily suggests that all the things Michael did in 4-6 were to get Laurie Strode out of hiding. He didn't hate Jamie, he just thought imperiling her would bring Laurie back. And then after Jamie died and she still didn't show up, that's when Michael proactively began to seek her out because he knew she was still alive. But that, like all the references to 4-6 got removed cause JLC and Steve Miner had them taken out (Miner didn't even want to acknowledge "Halloween II" but had to when he was informed that's when the "sister" aspect was introduced).
Why does this sound so fucking fire??? Resurrection was bottom of the barrel, but this sounds like an interesting and entertaining movie. The Chucky series has shown that a franchise can bounce back after a low point without retconning the established history.
I had always heard about this mysterious Halloween 9, and was always interested in seeing it. Last I heard, it was going forward. Then, the Rob Zombie Remake was announced.
Busta Rhymes was the only person as big as Michael that I remember+he knew Kung Fu lol. LL Cool J lives to see another day too. Resurrection is entertaining yet didn't feel it really added to the Michael Myers story, it was just like a "bonus round" in my opinion. H20 was great to me, brought old characters back w introducing us to John & felt it brought back the feel of the first two Halloween movies. It was furthering the storyline. To this day when I'm in restroom at a park that reminds me of bathroom in H20 I get creeped out...
Studio executives have no idea of what people want. This would've been awesome. They are always the cause of shitty movies, while ignoring hood movie ideas.
I think Josh Hartnett's sudden rise at the time and the disappointing numbers at the box office for Resurrection is what killed this potential sequel. Plus I believe that the Producers knew that they made a mistake with the last film especially adding Busta Rhymes into the mix is what left a sour taste in the mouth of fans that they decided to go another direction which wasn't any better
I wrote a script in highschool where John and his pregnant wife move to Springwood to the elm street house where she starts having dreams about a burned man trying to get to her baby. John thinks it's just ptsd from h20. Michael finds them. John learns about Freddy and pulls him out to fight Michael idk lol
i would prefer a 4 hour drama movie about freddie dealing with the pain that it has caused him in his life and he becomes a karate instructor to help kids who've been through trauma.
It's funny because when I first saw Halloween Resurrection, I was probably like 13ish, I pitched to my family a sequel to it: called Halloween the Wrath of Michael Myers. And it would take place several years after Resurrection, Michael would have killed Freddie and Sarah- I didn't even think about John. A museum was built over the wreckage of the Myers house, a museum dedicated to Michael Myers.
I just watched this two movies last night. Still iconic Halloween franchise ".. sean Patrick the kitchen knife scene and Busta rymes was awesome hey Mikey" Happy fucking Halloween 🎃 end of the scene ".. ☯️ can't mess with the originals 🧡
We needed the sequel. The studio screwed us out of a would be great sequel. I would've loved to see Michael Myers as a burnt undead corpse killing people in the hospital. Then just ending it with that movie and continuing it with another iteration of him and a different studio.
I really really really wish we had gotten this sequel, I LOVE Halloween resurrection !!!! One of my favorites, it’s very very fun and I love busta rhymes’ character, Freddie. Although it’s way too late to make a sequel to resurrection at this point, I would like to see this script turning into a novel or a comic book ! Now that I know there’s actually a first draft of Halloween retribution, I would like to pretend it’s canon in that timeline, even if it’s just a first draft, it’s a way for me to have some conclusion to that timeline. I think retribution should’ve been made in 2004 and we still got Halloween 2007 remake !!! Very unfortunate and missed opportunity!!
I just read the script for this not that long ago.... I really liked it! It would have been preferable to the CRAP we were stuck with from Rob Zombie!!!
im sorry they dropped the ball with john in H20....Allllll the way up til the end i just KNEW it would come out that john was really Stephan...Jamies baby from cursed making Laurie his Grandma and Mikey his daddy😅
Honestly, that sounds like a kick ass movie. Resurrection wasn’t my favorite of the franchise but this sequel sounds like it would have more than make up for it. Personally, Michael Myers would have no problem killing Leatherface. Yes he’s big and crazy but he was still mortal. Michael is unstoppable and really strong. It would be cool to see Leatherface attack Michael but also get thrown around by him.
They should have let Danial Farrands write the rest of the franchise starting with his full version of six and the sequel he had planned for that. Instead they have turned this whole thing into a bad joke
I'd take a Halloween sequel that centers on Michael stalking his nephew John or niece Jamie. I found them to be more interesting than Laurie. Have John work with Tommy or follow in Loomis' steps. And Jamie's is my fave final girl in Halloween franchise, her link to her uncle was an unique spin. She shouldn't have been K'd off in H6. No offense to the character Kara in H6 but Jamie was already established and should have been the female lead in H6. Kara was okay but it is jarring when they bump off a character just to shoehorn a new one in it's place. I know it is the horror genre so that is gonna happen (Rachel in H5 got done dirty) and it is Michael's franchise but hey the possibility of evilJamie working with or against her uncle always intrigued me.🎃🔪
Two things most likely derailed this. Josh Hartnett most likely would but have come back since he was trying to become an A-lister. After that, my guess is Moustapha’s tragic death was the main reason this didn’t happen, as he was the driving force behind Halloween, and was less prone to experimenting with the series than his son.
Busta and LL Cool J in the previous Halloween only survived because this was a time in horror movies where they wanted to show that they can finally do two things ....not kill the black guy first and make the black guy live .....there I said it cause its true 😂
Really enjoyed H20, IDK what it is but michael really creeps me out in that one. Maybe some of it is his mask, the way he lowers himself down one arm all silent like, really enjoyed it and wished they did more with john
To quote Jamie Lee Curtis, “Halloween Resurrection was a joke” and it should’ve never been made. After they killed off Jamie Lee Curtis, I completely tagged out. Also, I am a huge fan of Busta Rhymes, but he should be embarrassed for the performance he turned in. Completely campy and unbelievable. I feel like they tried to recapture the whole LL Cool J performance, but failed miserably.
If Moustapha Akkad had not been murdered [with his daughter], the Rob Zombie remake never would've happened. There would've been a proper sequel to "Resurrection." Maybe not this, but Akkad would've kept the timeline going.
Laurie's son John should've show up to resurrection and Halloween 2018. It would've been better if Karen had a big brother John so the family would team up to beat up Michael Myers.
I wish they would take some of the horror franchises the DC comics route. Why do we have to have a live action movie? Make it an animated movie and you can do whatever you want in it. You could pump out a ton of ideas and material at a fraction of the cost.
Actually, the kids trapped inside the abandoned sanitarium during a snow storm sounds awesome.
That's what they should have done in the first place. The whole ghost hunting thing works better in a bigger place, like that tv show fear on mtv back in the day. Plus, Smith's Grove was Michael's other home.

Wish they would had went forward with this Halloween 🎃 sequel 💙💙💙💙💙
Working on a fan film adaptation been in development for over a year now. Might wanna drop a sub.
They should have let Danial Farrands write the rest of the franchise starting with his full version of six and the sequel he had planned for that. Instead they have turned this whole thing into a bad joke
8:00 no one in Haddenfeild is just a random citizen. Everyone was effected by Micheal’s influence.
I know it is the horror genre so that is gonna happen (Rachel in H5 got done dirty) and it is Michael's franchise but hey the possibility of evilJamie working with or against her uncle always intrigued me.🎃🔪
I would love to see this sequel
You had me at Michael kills Freddy ❤
If a good publisher like Dark Horse had it I’d read it for sure.
Agreed 😊
I wouldn't want John to turn into the Shape!
As a fan of H20, I would’ve love to have seen this.
Keep an eye out on our fan film adaptation 🎃
Two things most likely derailed this. Josh Hartnett most likely would but have come back since he was trying to become an A-lister. After that, my guess is Moustapha’s tragic death was the main reason this didn’t happen, as he was the driving force behind Halloween, and was less prone to experimenting with the series than his son.
Wow.... I would've actually like to see this sequel!
Stay tuned for our fan film sequel.
Into the Halloween Multiverse of Madness.
Multiverse of sadness or badness
Busta and LL Cool J in the previous Halloween only survived because this was a time in horror movies where they wanted to show that they can finally do two things ....not kill the black guy first and make the black guy live .....there I said it cause its true 😂
We didn’t get this but we got Ressurection Fuck! Sounds excellent! 😊
This follows the events of Resurrection
Really enjoyed H20, IDK what it is but michael really creeps me out in that one. Maybe some of it is his mask, the way he lowers himself down one arm all silent like, really enjoyed it and wished they did more with john
Sounds much better than the recent trilogy we got!
I would have liked to seen this one
To quote Jamie Lee Curtis, “Halloween Resurrection was a joke” and it should’ve never been made. After they killed off Jamie Lee Curtis, I completely tagged out.
Also, I am a huge fan of Busta Rhymes, but he should be embarrassed for the performance he turned in. Completely campy and unbelievable. I feel like they tried to recapture the whole LL Cool J performance, but failed miserably.
Sounds alot better than Halloween Ends tbh
freddys book should have been called A Killer Shark in Baggy Overalls
This doesn’t sound too bad but why is there so much hate for busta rhymes. He was the best part of resurrection
That actually sounds like a great film.
This sounds like a good sequel but let's not forget Smith Grove was like 120 miles away
Ngl just reading the story 🤔 this would've been a good ass movie a top 5 film in the franchise and maybe a good send off 😂
This would've been 🔥🔥🔥🔥
If Moustapha Akkad had not been murdered [with his daughter], the Rob Zombie remake never would've happened. There would've been a proper sequel to "Resurrection." Maybe not this, but Akkad would've kept the timeline going.
Calling it now the makers of Halloween inferno fam films need to watch the video for their next installment
Already working on a fan film adaptation been in development for a little over a year 👍
Laurie's son John should've show up to resurrection and Halloween 2018. It would've been better if Karen had a big brother John so the family would team up to beat up Michael Myers.
Don’t they mention Smiths Grove being hours from Haddonfield in the original film?
I wish they would take some of the horror franchises the DC comics route. Why do we have to have a live action movie? Make it an animated movie and you can do whatever you want in it. You could pump out a ton of ideas and material at a fraction of the cost.
