But we’re completionists and, truth be told, the hows and whys of Resurrection’s existence are much more interesting than the movie itself, so thanks in advance for logging into our chat room so we can all figure out WTF Happened to “Halloween: Resurrection.”

I still find some humor in this movie. Busta Rhymes was hilarious when he was playing Micheal Myers.
A Michael Myers movie should never have humor.
Yeah 👍 me too man ℹ though that was very hilarious 🤣 and made me laugh my freaking ass off bruh 😎
@@kal0247oh well and I didn’t mind that actually because that’s just me tho lol 😂
I recently re-watched it and suddenly started enjoying how stupid and trashy it is.
@@kal0247ehh most good movies have elements of different genres.
AMC channel is always an October treat showing the original 2, 4, 5, 6, and finally H20 and Resurrection
This is the one thing from my childhood that remained unchanged
What a difference it was seeing this movie on opening night as opposed to seeing H20 on its opening night.
I was thrilled walking out of the theater after H20, after leaving Resurrection I was in a daze and felt like I had a fever dream instead of actually watching a Halloween movie
Must've felt sick to your stomach or like a bad mushroom trip was setting in lol. I missed the theatrical release and was traumatized enough from the DVD experience. Almost had a meltdown.
Halloween Ends really helped me appreciate this one, just a little bit more.
Your set needs more than one joke
Resurrection has always been my favorite, not because it's scary but because it has that 90s teen scream movie vibe. Like the party going on while they watch, maybe it's the Miramax vibe that make it feel like a scream spoof
A lot of people blame Busta Rhymes for this but Busta Rhymes didn't write the script. He performed they he was written.
He’s the only thing that makes this memorable.
Have you not watched the video? It clearly states that Busta Rhymes improvised a lot of his lines. 🙄
@ChucksCherubs3 they're still mean he didn't write the script, nor did he have anything to do with the structure of the movie. He might have improv, but he didn't improv every damn line.
As they should. He’s one of the worst characters in Halloween history.
@@grapeshotSo in essence in your opinion Busta Rhyme's is a good actor? Ahahahaha thanks for the laugh pal😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm one of those few people who love this movie for what it is. Resurrection was the 4th Halloween film I ever saw (after 1, 2, and H20), since I watched them all out of order and it had just released on home video. I was an impressionable teen, and this movie made an impression on me. So yeah, part of my affection is tinted by nostalgia, but I do genuinely find Resurrection entertaining for its own (weird) merits these days. It is still far from my least favorite in the series - probably ranked dead center out of all 13 entries.
Your not the only one I love halloween resurrection as well
you chose the best movies to watch. don't worry about liking and enjoying them
I love this movie for the same reason. I was a kid when it came out, it’s nostalgic. It’s fun in that “Sharknado” kind of way. It’s not a serious movie and that’s okay with me. It’s just a good goofy time.
@@Funnylittleman and sometimes that's all you need to be entertained
there's nothing wrong with this entry in the series.
Thank you for this!!!! I watched this movie and kept thinking WTF so many times... and then Busta went kung fu and my brain stopped functioning
When you get to the 8th movie in the franchise, you can't take it seriously. You have to have fun with it, and that's what Halloween Resurrection did 8/10
There’s having fun and there’s being incompetent. Resurrection was incompetent.
So funny that the production stills heavily circulated Michael standing behind Tyra and the couple camping.... both scenes ended up being cut.... It wasn't until recently and thanks to RUclips that we can see the footage!
I actually thought Busta was as the best part of the movie. I loved his first interaction with Micheal. I bust a gut every time I see it.
I’m a defender, and I’m proud of it. LOL.
This was the third halloween movie i watched in theaters and it was one of my birthday presents on July 13,2002.
I can’t believe there are people who think Halloween Ends is worse than this excuse of a film
It is. At least this one isn't trying to be serious like that pretentious mess of a film.
My parents bought me the original film on VHS for my seventh birthday. I had never seen it before, but I was excited to watch it because they wanted me to see it so badly, and it was a really scary film-so scary in fact that I later ended up having to talk with a school counselor because a nightmare I’d had about it had done something to me-I don’t know what-that convinced my teacher I needed to talk to someone. For several years, I was frightened of everything having to do with this series. My parents would call me into the living room, and when I got in there, I would see Michael Myers on the screen and run out of the room screaming. It was a massive fear.
Anyway, I watched this movie when I was eleven years old, and it was so stupid and unscary that my fear of Michael Myers was cured instantly.
I thought you said “seventeenth birthday” at first. Needless to say, the rest of your story had me a little slack jawed at that point.. then I double checked and saw that you said “seventh.” That makes a little more sense. 😂
Did your parents hate you?
Toughn up. I had that done to me too.
I did it to my oldest, who then did it to the next oldest and so on. That's how we get introduced to horror movies.
@@ryanscott3161 No, some parents do that just because it's fun to scare your kids, and it rarely goes too far. I wasn't traumatized by it, I was just a kid and needed to grow my horror threshold. When I was four years old, my mom had me watch 'Child's Play" with her. I thought that was pretty scary too, and what made it even worse was that she slipped out at one point without my noticing, and I got the shock of my life when I was suddenly jumped on from behind by my Buddy doll (which Chucky had actually been modeled after). I was terrified of dolls for a really long time after that, but like this story, that fear was cured by seeing "Seed of Chucky" when I was thirteen. My mom was really instrumental in introducing me to horror--we used to read "In a Dark, Dark Room and Other Scary Stories" together when I was around that age, and she got me interested in the Goosebumps television show and later the books when I was old enough to read them on my own. Now she and I like listening to scary stories on RUclips, though we don't always agree on what's scary.
My mother took me to see the original Halloween when I was 11. The perfect age to avoid those night terrors. Now, you getting the movie on VHS. That's scary.
The less said about this movie the better
It was pretty much a giant middle finger to the fans of the franchise
Akkad just couldn’t let it go
H20 injected a fresh dose of adrenaline and this pretty much kicked it in the face like a mule
Even fans revile this movie so much
H20 was a generic Scream clone, & the garbage that came before it (4-6) are objectively terrible. The franchise was dead long before this came along. Halloween fans just don't know anything about quality filmmaking.
@@filmbuff2777H20 wasn’t a Scream clone because there was no *who done it* element to it. Did it have Scream influences? Yeah but it was also written by Kevin Williamson. People who are self proclaimed “film buffs” usually have mediocre taste and a basic understanding of film.
@@filmbuff2777There's one good movie and it was 1978 my man you are dead on.The rest are absolutely atrocious cash grabs.Movies for the brain dead 😂
@@filmbuff2777 skipped 4-6 those are just plain bad
I hate when actors badmouth their movies years later. Just own it! There are some people out there who like the movie, so don’t make them feel bad about it.
I've always enjoyed this movie, and Busta Rhymes did just fine. It was funny watching some dude that knew martial arts and then take it the killer. It was also coming off the heels of The Blair Witch Project, where found footage and shaky cam really started to gain momentum. And watching a young Katee Sackhoff is never a bad thing. I'll gladly take this over Halloween Ends and it's not even close.
“LET THE DANGERTAINMENT BEGIN IN THIS MF!!” Busta was the best part of this movie. It’s definitely a standalone entry lol
I still remember sometime in 2000 when I was watching Halloween H20 with my mom. After the end of the movie, I mentioned that there was another Halloween movie that had been announced. My mom asked how that was possible when he'd been clearly killed at the end of H20. My response was "I don't know. He was left alone for a moment there. They'll probably say he switched places with somebody or something." Needless to say, I wasn't surprised by the opening to Resurrection. The thing that always gets me about how they had him switch places with the paramedic is that shouldn't the paramedic have had a pulse and been breathing when they put him in the body bag? Also, wouldn't somebody have removed the mask before they closed up the body bag? And why couldn't the paramedic have removed the mask when he came to in the back of the van or sometime shortly afterwards? And when Laurie had Michael hanging upside down on the roof, why didn't she make him take the mask off himself rather than get close to him like that?
There's a game called "who cares hurry up and give the Akkads more easy money" and it involves one thing -a white mask.
I’ll always have a special place for this movie. Yeah it’s goofy but at least it’s entertaining. And for me it was the first ever Halloween movie I got to see in theaters so it was my intro to the fandom, so for that reason alone I’ll never completely trash this movie lol
Why not? I have fond memories of Halloween Kills opening and still am open to disliking that
"Trick or treat, mother******" is gotta be right up there with "We'll always Have Paris", "Hasta la vista, baby" and "I love the smell of napalm in the morning", in the rank of greatest movie lines.
Halloween: Homecoming logo was on the official news site for 2 years before release and got changed last minute to Resurrection. I actually thought Michael was going to get the F13 Pt 6 treatment.
uh you obviously haven't watched most of the halloween movies if you thought resurrection was one of the worst. frankly the only ones i watch are 1, 2, h20, and resurrection [and that includes the newer movies]
resurrection was a timely take on halloween because we live in the livestreaming world now. tyra and busta were relatively fresh additions. certainly more likeable then most of the contestants
though to be honest it's just my opinion and frankly that's all that counts for me and everyone should decide on their own reasons and which movies to like or not like
The people that think this is such an atrocity tend to think Halloween 4 is truly a great film. I grew up on these as a kid, but watching 4 as an adult, I was honestly shocked at how bad it was. It is so badly & incompetently made on just about every level. Only Donald Pleasance hamming it up is really the only positive thing that can be said about it. It is as close to a 0/10 as you can get.
I’m happy to see more positive comments about Resurrection. This is one of my fav Halloween movies. Busta was the best part. 🔥😂 💯 Michael was the boogeyman again too 😱
Funnily enough Katee Sackhoff has a RUclips channel and some years she uploaded a reaction to the movie and she talked about how embarrassed she was with her performance or that a body double was used for certain scenes which weren’t in the script.
Amazing that even that actors acknowledge the failure from all producers and crew along the way to its final form
1:50 the one kid looks directly into the camera. I’ve seen Resurrection 500 times. 😂
This movie is the Halloween version of Jason Goes to Hell.
Can't lie... I love this movie 😂
Me too, it's fun entertainment
Seeing Myers eyes through the mask in this movie always made him less scary and with them eyebrows it made him look so funny
Still better than Halloween ends!!
Judging by this, it looks like it’s easy to tell how much oversight John Carpenter had an Halloween 2
He did write the script and made the music for H II, and then when the producers weren’t happy with the lack of gore he shoot some of the extra scenes and recut the movie accordingly to the new footage.
I still rate it above the Rob Zombie movies, Halloween Ends, and parts 5 and 6.
This why Halloween Ends will never be the worst in the series (five was pretty bad too).
I love this movie. Idc what people say about it. I watched it all the time growing up 😅
Busta is my favorite rapper also so I agree movie had me dying 🔪🎃
Same, It's so underrated
I’ll never get why it got so much hate it was a great movie
This movie to me is like Halloween 3. Not in the sense of no Michael meyers but it’s like it’s own thing. A relic of the past and part of my growing up
I enjoy this one. Fun atmosphere mixed with early internet. I rank it above the thorn trilogy, the new trilogy, and Halloween 2.
I still can't get over releasing halloween in july... oct 2002 only had one other horror movie, the ring, no other competition.
Nothing. Busta Rhymes came to save the day. LL survived, so why not Busta?
Halloween Ends makes this look like a classic. This over HE any day
And THANK YOU for stating that the seeds for this movie were planted during H20!!! I am getting SO sick of people complaining that this movie intentionally ruined the perfect ending that H20 made for the series when this was going to happen in some way or form no matter what.
At the time I really liked it.... Still kinda do a little... but OMG, it's one of the poorest excuses for a Scream ripoff I've ever seen!!!@@travzimmerman1340
Yeah, never would have happened.... Akkad REFUSED to let them "kill" off Michael in H20 unless they came up with a "backdoor" plan to bring him back in the next one first.@@mightybitchy
@@travzimmerman1340 H20 was such a disappointing movie. Resurrection on the other hand is absolute trash.
Michael Myers
The OG of Horror
The Shape
He deserved better
Busta was my favorite part about this movie. But man oh man, does the move suck so much. I really enjoyed H20. I was in high school when this came out and I hated it.
ah, the only Halloween movie I knew would suck before it came out. The year delay was a bit of a giveaway that the studio knew they had a turd on their hands.
Saw this in the theater and was utterly disappointed 😂
for me Rick Rosenthal was inspired by the first Scream to make Halloween Resurrection, in the end the shyest and kindest girl wins and in the end they all find themselves at the killer's house
Better than the 2018 version!
Freddie (Bust Rhymes) should get a spin off show where he goes after slasher icons and defeats them.
Imagine a movie with a tagline “Evil comes back home” releasing in September 2001 😂😂
Love the shape, that's why I never saw this movie or H20.
My head canon is LL cool js character from h20 after the events of that film wrote this as one of his fiction stories that’s why busta rhymes is doing crazy shit
Ok I must be the only person in the world that loves this one. But I love busta
To this day this remains the only Halloween movie I haven't seen and I most likely never will.
But it's like a perfect movie
Still my favorite film out the franchise till this day. Can’t wait to bring my sequel fan film to tv and computer screens soon 🎃
Bwahahahahahahahaha!😂😂😂😂 Good Luck. 🙄
@wadewilson8011 you get ALL the likes
@@wadewilson8011Let’s see your fab films bud lmao.
This the best one !
Remember, this is one of the rare Halloween movies where Micheal is at his scariest simply becuase he has no motive.
I STILL hate myself for watching this at the movie theater. 😣
I use to think part 5 was the worst...then this came along
The scariest thing about this film is people like it
They should finish this timeline properly with a movie finally killing the original timeline Myers.
Busta rymes musta needed a serious chiropractor after carrying this flick on his back
I like the idea of it being a reality show if they just took it to a more serious level
I get why people don't like the movie but I don't understand why they don't like the ambulance /paramedic mask part that's actually pretty clever it makes so much more sense than most movies that bring back the killer
What happened to it ?
It still sucks 20 years later
Movies, music, video games and others forms of Art. The world shudders with the obsequey of the death of Art.
So Jamie Lee Curtis wanted to kill Michael in H20, when everything was prepared one of the producers when up to her at the last minute and told her that there’s a clause in the contract that he cannot die and she got pissed off. They told her we make your ending but in the next movie you find out it wasn’t Michael and she agreed, but she added you have to kill me in Ressurrection
i enjoy laughing at this movie but i cannot defend this one lol
Why was no one paying attention to the fact that Michael was carrying a giant kitchen in his hand at the crime scene? It makes no sense how no one saw that, and it is extremely annoying. I feel like this is what filmmakers want us to feel. Annoyed at the fact that this serial killer is just getting away with scott murder.
Wanna do karate in the garage? Yep! No one can jump the shark like BR & his Kentucky fried nuts. Upon revisit this movie is surprisingly better than I remember lol.
Excellent review. Thanks for making the world a better place entertaining us all with your time & effort that you put into making content. 👍👍 appreciate you.
Acts 2:38
I’ve always been a fan of this movie. I like it better than H20, both Rob Zombie movies, and Ends.
Trick or treat Motherbleeper 😂😂😂😂😂😂
H2K sounds pretty lit not gonna lie 😂
I’m 33 and remember getting this out on vhs along time ago was shite and odd
Resurrection is better than H20 and wayyy better than anything in the abominable Blumhouse trilogy.
The only Halloween movies worst than this are the ones done by Zombie
I actually like this film 😊🤟🎃🤟🎃
Every halloween movie was financially successful
I can actually say I like this movie better than Rob's sequel . It definitely is funny horror good
I rank resurrection above 5,6 and the 07 remake
How does this have a higher score than Halloween six on rotten tomatoes? That was even before the producers cut came out so you couldn’t make the argument that it ruined him more than resurrection.
I always have fun watching this movie. Its a good time!
HALLOWEEN RESURRECTION IS PLAYING ON SHOWTIME I'LL SKIP THIS ONE ENTIRELY BECAUSE I'M ENJOYING HALLOWEEN (2018) ON TUBI RIGHT NOW, HALLOWEEN (1978), HALLOWEEN 2 (1981), HALLOWEEN 3, 4, 5, 6 AND 7 ALSO HALLOWEEN KILLS AND HALLOWEEN ENDS I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT OE YET BUT IN TIME I'LL GET TO IT.
"you hit me like I murdered your fuckin mother!".... I still use that line to this day!😂😂
I dug that little piece at the beginning when Laurie bought it but that's about it.
I watch this movie every year.
For the right price, JLC will return for any Halloween movie. Halloween Ends is a mess.
Laurie should've came back at end to kill Myers finally
I still rather sit through Resurrection than the two Rob Zombie films. Oh well...
Face it both franchises officially got a comedy in their collections Jason X/Halloween Resurrection ain't no in between 😭😭😭🤷🏿♂️🔥
Even as a 14/15yo, I'd get scared watching these movies alone on Halloween. When this one would come on, I'd think to myself, "pheww, the one with Tyra. Excuse me for a sec." For real though, when I'd see the title on tv I would think oh good, won't be scared for a little bit
2018 should have been called halloween: Resurgence 😅
Yep, this entry in the franchise was a straight up stinker!
Love the mask in this one. 🎃
This is still better than Ends.
Busta Rhymes is fun in this ridiculous movie. So bad it's good.
Rob Zombie Halloween 2007 is not a reboot its actually a remake bro we already had a reboot with the Halloween 2918 film which literally was gonna be called Halloween Returns but they decided to change it to Halloween 2018 instead
Nothing happened..yall Hate on Resurrection but it's honestly one of the most re watchable films in the franchise..same with h20
This is the only film in the series I don’t own and haven’t seen.
I don’t hate this one. It’s above 3, Ends, & RZH2.
I loved Halloween resurrection
At 7:57 wow 😮 I didn’t know that Katee Sackhoff was supposed to be the part of Donna huh very interesting 🤔 and I wouldn’t mind her as Donna Chang either but Daisy McCrackin still did a great job as that character though and both of the them are sexy girls too and I loved Katee Sackhoff and Daisy McCrackin to death man!!
