      In Scream 2 I can imagine she wouldn't think being out in the open was a bad idea. She was chased around by a serial killer a year or two ago, oh well, continue on with your life. Then Scream 2 happens and she has the mother of the man she killed, and a man obsessed with imitating the man that tried to kill her, both trying to kill her......Yeah, we didn't need a long drawn out opening sequence showing us why Sidney's living in the woods. When you have people trying to copy the people who tried to kill you to finish what they started, you'd fucking hide for the rest of your life.
      The sequels flat out show that there are people who dream about chasing down and killing Sidney to do what the others couldn't, like Sidney said in Scream 5 "I'm Sidney fucking Prescott, of course I own a gun."

    I've never really hated Scream 3. I don't it's as bad as people make it out to be and it's certainly not as bad as other horror movie franchises that have 10+ sequels. The Scream movies are quite possibly the best in terms of continuity or just the fact that they're all really easy to get into and follow unlike most slasher movie sequels. I think people forget that they're just slasher movies and that they really only have to be Fun not Oscar worthy cinema. Don't get me wrong, I wish all the Scream movies were as good as the first movie but we all know that nothing ever lives up to the original movie in almost any franchise no matter what the genre is which is the characters argument within Scream 2. Another piece of unintentional meta irony is the plot of Scream 3 having a sleazy Hollywood producer at the center of the story and then having the whole Weinstein thing happen is crazy meta and as tragic as you can get.

    Bringing back Stu from the dead would have been absolutely dreadful. Stu was never even brought up in the 2nd film, not even as a throwaway "Stu's still locked up in prison, so we know he's not the killer".
    If he survived he would have gone through the legal process in some fashion, probably a highly publicised event regardless of whether or not he plead guilty or chose to have a trial. Either way, resurrecting him would essentially render Mickey's motive from the 2nd film, to blame the movies and have a big trial, utterly pointless.

    • @JLDReactions
      @JLDReactions 3 года назад +4

      Yeah, but those scenes lean too much into the supernatural. Yes, I know they are dream sequences, but the tone of those scenes don't fit with Scream- much too typical of a horror cliche. And how is that she was having eerie dreams about her mother coincidentally as Roman was taunting her in bloody sheets and such? Too much of a coincidence.

The ending twist reveals everyone who died in her college was all a morbid prank, and nobody was killed. A very April Fools Day style ending. In my brain, one of the most defining presences in the Scrum movies is Cotton Weary. I imagine that it is he who is singing "The Red Right Hand." It just looks like if he went up on stage to sing, he'd have that sort of voice, and he'd be creating the Woodsboro Scrum Ghostface atmosphere!

    Wes Craven said the Angelina development could never ever even be sold so it wasn't late in the game. They couldn't even sell it that way. By the time filming came around that idea was gone already. She seems obvious because they instead just made her a red herring as other characters have been given across the movies (Kirby in 6).

It doesn't matter how enjoyable it might've been -- being funny or campy or intense or what have you -- the issue is that it doesn't fit in well with the Scream mold! It makes me wonder if they weren’t so adamant of production commencing when it did and waited for Kevin Williamson to be able to do a rewrite of his script, if Williamson would have been able to salvage enough of his original idea for Scream 3 to be able to be seen on the big screen. I think Scream 3 is the weakest in the franchise, but it’s not bad. Hearing what the original idea for the film is makes me wonder if it could have worked had enough time been allowed for Wes Craven to be able to create an ending of the trilogy that would have been satisfying for everyone making the film and the audience at large. It’s one of those what ifs that we won’t get to see.

Lots of situations. Plus they didnt want too much blood also the company wantex to turn this into more of a cat & mouse chase thriller type as sidney goes on the run. Good editing here. Did you know Ehren Kruger received an "Executive Producer" credit on Scream 4 (2011)? Maybe because Gale says they've been through this 3 times. Anyway, There is at least ONE THING that Scream 3 has OVER the beloved Scream 4 (2011). And that is the OPENING KILL SCENE. I don't get your complaint in any way. After Scream 2 (1997) Cotton Weary's death is the absolute right way to go and considerably more impactful than the "name this recognizable pretty face" game as the opening to Scream 4 (2011). Thankfully Scream 4 (2011) becomes a very solid sequel after that passing part 3 but still, after Scream 2 THAT was the RIGHT WAY to pull Sidney into the story. Again, that is the only thing very obviously in my opinion better than in the next chapter (which succeeds with pretty much everything else over part 3)

    A better story would have been the parents of the teen victims of the previous movies who blamed Sidney for their children's deaths. Like, they started off as a support group but all got twisted by their grief. "If Sidney had died in the first place, this would never have happened". Something like that. And, instead of less killers, it could have been, like, 5 or 6.
    Even Stu's parents could be in it as a red herring, but it turns out that they didn't blame Sidney. Maybe even die to protect her, or something... I dunno.
