Sims 1
The fire pit in the Sims 1, comes without wood. When your sim goes to light a fire, they will manually stack individual logs in the pit and light it up using a match. Sims can sit around the campfire, roast marshmallows, tell a story. In very rare occasions a ghost named Green Beard the Ghost may come for a visit and and scare the Sims that are listening the story.
Sims 2
When you buy the campfire comes with already stacked wood. So your sim will just light it up using a lighter. Like in The Sims 1, in The Sims 2, sims sit on the ground. Up to 4 people can sit by the campfire. Sims can warm hands and they can also roast marshmallows.
Sims 3
There are Portable Fire Pits in the Sims 3.Sims will light the fire using a lighter. Up to six chairs can be placed around a fire pit. Unlike the previous games, Sims don't sit on the ground. They will automatically place a chair and sit, except when a sim is telling a ghost story. Sims can poke the fire, warm themselves and roast marshmallows. But they can roast any kind of food that is in their inventory. When sim is telling a ghost story, other sims will sit on the ground. Sims can also burn herbs. Unlike the previous Sims games, in The Sims 3, Sims can put out the fire.
Sims 4
Campfires in The Sims 4 come already stacked with wood. Sims light the campfire using a match, and sometimes get burned in the process. If there aren't chairs available, your sim will stand by the fire, except when they are roasting food. You can add log to the fire. Sims can play a guitar and sing songs if they have at least 3 skill points. They can burn money,
play with the fire. Tell group stories: adventure stories, fairytale, and after 7 PM - ghost stories
Sims can Roast five different kinds of food - marshmallows, hot dogs, veggie dogs fish and beetles. Like in The Sims 3, Sims can extinguish the fire, but with a bucket of water.

The Sims 1 has some of the coolest object interactions. The mechanics may be overly simple now, but I feel like most of the time that actual objects were far more interesting and had a lot more effort.
It's also still the hardest Sims game too, since it's so hard to keep their needs up and to build friendships. That and the no weekends.

sims 1 wins for me. the interactiones between the sims around the fire feels realistic and natural. sims 3 and 4 have more options but I hate how they just sit around detached from one another, like robots. In that regard, even though sims 2 has little options, the way they automatically start chatting also gives it a realistic and cozy feeling like sims 1

The uncomfortable silence and the stares as the sim in Sims 3 warming herself kinda make me laugh yet awkward at the same time😂😂😂

The sims 1 group campfire songs interactions are so wholesome. Four iterations into the franchise though and I am still waiting for the option to make s'mores at a campfire. Even if I turn to mods I don't think I have ever even heard of a mod that makes that possible.

@@autumn_west As this is a showcase video of how campfires work in the different versions of The Sims I doubt that's the case straight off the bat. So you must mean through mods and to that all I can do is sigh and say "Well, at least someone finally made it a thing."

@@autumn_west Nah no worries. I think it's great that it exists at all though it is sad that modders had to do it. There's so many people who simply have no idea how to install mods never mind installing them correctly and yet that's the state of affairs with The Sims quite often. If not to fix bugs then to add content that should realistically speaking already be there.

Forgot the Sims 4 part where sims usually just get up and leave after a few seconds instead of participating or interacting, making the campfire not very fun. Sims 4=the fun killer

The Sims 3 university life came with another bomb fire pit, with added interactions and the bonfire party option. I liked that the fire got bigger the more logs you threw in and that throwing test tubes in could change the color of the flames.

And you could also add herbs to it to make it smoke and produce fun effects
The Sims 4 also has another type of campfire added with Get Together where you can't roast food but you can dance.
I think Sims 1 won. Not only does everyone look like they’re having a good time, but I love that everyone song songs. Sims 2 did great too. Sims 3 I like they have more food options. Sims 4 it’s fine too
Greenbeard the Ghost scared me when I was younger, no lights on, in the middle of the night playing the computer. I like the realism in Sims 1 when the sim has to add the logs.
The sound that plays when he comes out was so creepy 😂
the sims 1 is really cool but the singing sounds like when everybody doesn't *quite* know the lyrics to the song but they're trying their best anyway.... But the sims 3 outright feels so damn awkward lol Nobody is talking or having a super fun time... it feels so weird and quiet

Sims 1 - I love how the Sims actually build the bonfire. Also, I love how the character takes off running from the ghost story lol 🤭
Sims 3 - I loveeeeee the visual effects when the Sims tell a story; absolutely amazing!
I think that on the sims 1, if you sit by the fire with kids and sing, the kids might laugh at you. This is hilarious

TS1 wins here, for sure. It’s so cozy and sims are actually interacting and having a good time. I feel like TS4 tried to take after TS1 here; they are interacting, singing songs, playing music, then there’s the ghost summoned by the ghost story. Nice try, TS4. But as usual the cozy atmosphere was still lacking, at least compared to TS1.

The sims 3, I use to keep food in my sim’s inventory for the fire pit and even made them throw herbs in the bonfire pits for Rebel influence.
TS1 is the best in campfire! It's very cozy and singing together is amazing! Also I like atmosphere in TS2 : how they're sitting on the ground in different poses and talks! ♥

I was always somewhat disappointed that The Sims 3 only had a fire pit, not a true campfire (not counting the bonfire as it's a separate thing). That being said, it'd probably be easy to make one as custom content. lol
Sims 3 had the bond fire too, which was clearly missed in this video. Also that you can throw bonfire party with kegs and sims can play music, dance and throw test tubes in the fire.

I like the variety of options in Sims 3 and Sims 4, but I personally think that Sims 1 is the best because they all participated in a sing-a-long

Thank you so much for this series. It's fun to compare all the games. Sims1 wins this round for me, though Sims 2 is my favorite of all the games. I recall how disappointed I was that my sims couldn't sing around the fire anymore. (I also got the ghost once and that was too cool! lol) I never played the campfire in Sims 3 or 4, but I enjoyed seeing both and I thought both were pretty awesome. I liked the story telling in 3 and 4 brought back the guitar which made me happy.
Just combine The Sims from 1 to 3. Throw Sims 4 in a bin and VOILA! The perfect game.
