Remember the simple step for Nvidia users: Go into your control panel and force VSync on for Sims 3 - this fixes nearly 90% of all issues, especially the dreaded time stuck but game still playing bug.

I'll keep that in mind if I ever end up with a Nvidia graphics card 😁 Thankfully, my Washburn Edition Mods List gets rid of about 95% of lag issues, among other things! The game itself was very poorly optimized by EA, but thankfully our wonderfully modding community has our backs!

Open world and create a style are a game changer! Not to mention excellent in-depth gameplay, especially when you add mods 😎

Mine is the old Asus computer with still 10th gen spec.. I only used that computer for gaming like Sims 4 so I look forward to your mod improvement of Sims 3.. My Sims 4 game is really crashing right now.. It's kinda sucks tbh

@minxbella9342 I get that 😔 Back when I was playing Sims 4, for the first time I got really into it. My Sims ended up having triplets and I built them this beautiful house and was having a blast... then EA did an update and I lost everything. It took me a while to play the game again after that loss.

I don't know much about Sims 3 modding. I did some back in 2016 for a few months, but I wasn't obsessed due to only having the base game... I'm a big Elder Scrolls fan, so I've been in the Skyrim modding rabbit hole for 6 years now. I know Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and The Sims have some modder cross-overs: some of the oldest must-have hair mods for each Elder Scrolls and Fallout titles released after the year 2000 were conversions of Sims hair mods, for instance!
I believe the communities have learned from one another over the decades in optimising our beloved games and upgrading the textures.
A big modpack recently came out for Oblivion (the game first released in 2006) that has fully transformed the game into a fully 4k beauty that also modernized the UI and gameplay elements. And it was put together by one person!
And then this was in my recommended, with the goal of being something similar! I'll never play this myself; I prefer watching people play sims games rather than playing them myself, so I pray that this project will have more people making sims 3 videos!
@milesbarnes6777 hi! That's really cool to know! I played the hell out of Skyrim several years ago, and I am definitely planning to go back for another playthrough at some point. My husband is a big fan of Fallout series, especially Fallout 4. I didn't know about the mod crossovers, but that makes a lot of sense! I think I've seen some videos for Oblivion 4K overhauls that are absolutely breathtaking! My goal is for the Washburn Edition to enhance the experience of people already playing, bring former players back to the game, and welcome new ones! In my opinion, Sims 3 is the best in The Sims series, especially once you add mods in! Although Sims 2 will always have a special place in my heart.
I would love to see people make content with my mods list! I'm planning on making my own content, build videos, and let's play stories once I finish V5! I love this game, and I really love playing out scenarios and building lives for my Sims ❤️ I am a story teller at heart 😁

I absolutely have always loved sims 3 ever since I was 10 years old. Im upset that EA made us switch to their app. Which made me not able to actually start up and play the game at all even after two years. Man I miss this game so much 🥺
@Nominaze oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that 😔 I've definitely had my own issues with the EA app. I'm far from an expert in the app, but I'm happy to help if I can! This is probably a silly question, but have you tried reinstalling the game?
@@GoldenEnninasSims3 No its okay, it’s a great question . I actually have tried reinstalling the game twice and it hasn’t worked. I had also tried the repairing option and that doesn’t work either.

I felt like one of those cliches where you call into tech support and the first thing they ask is, have you turned it off and back on again? 😂 another question for you! Have you tried uninstalling it through your computer, or just through the EA app?

@MySwitchup hahahaha So I think it's a mixture of two things. I think the walking animations themselves had some core issues when they were being designed, and also, when I take videos in game it can mess with the flow of the animations. They get a little slow down. Right now I don't have a good screen recorder program, so I take 5 Seconds to 30 second videos while I'm playing and then string them together in microsoft clipchamp. Once I am able to actually record my screen, everything will look a lot better 😊
@@GoldenEnninasSims3you can record screen in OBS Studio if you can use that on your computer (with these amazing specs and graphics i think so). i use the free version it works for streaming also but you can just screen record but you have to set the audio balance

@stargirl5194 oh I can't wait to get a gaming pc! However, the game actually looks even better on my computer than it does on my in these videos! I make these videos by recording in game clips and stringing them together in Microsoft clipchamp. Unfortunately, the video resolution is limited, so I can't share with you all the full beauty of the Washburn Edition Version 5 at the moment. But in the future, I plan to get software so I can record my screen in 4K resolution. Super excited for that!

Shared 2 picturs on reddit and i typed ''can sims 4 beat this'' , it got over 1000 likes and got removed by administrator of sims saying that i insulted sims 4 community by posting it. So they are insulted because sims 3 is much prettier game.. weirdos. Amyways thanks so much for responding to my comment and enjoy the game! 😊

Also, I just looked up that world, and it looks stunning! I can't wait to get into custom worlds. I remember when I discovered the traveler mod, it was a total game changer! I think I'll actually do a mod spotlight for that mod because I love it so much LOL

Wait, something weird is going on. I use the Nilxis realistic clouds and Milkyway night sky mod. I don't have any other mods that has anything to do with clouds. But for some reason, in my game the clouds move way too fast. It's like I am fast forwarding the game. Your's looks perfectly "realistic" to me. Clouds should be floating slowing. I was going around trying to find out how to fix it. I have been playing the game with NRAAS Relativity and slows down to time in a day and make it longer. I made it 3x longer. 1 normal sim day is 24mins. In my game I made it to 72mins real time/1 sim day. It might look like a long time, but I am kind of a control freak and I play with a large household. 8 sims and more. So I need more time to control everyone. I also want the game to feel more realistic. Like having time to shower/bath in the morning before going to work. I also don't need to rush to work 3 hours early because of the time going by too fast that your car ride to work takes almost a whole sim hour. But when I play, it doesn't take exactly 72mins in real life since I fast forward the time especially during sleeping time. So usually 1 sim day takes less than 1 hour in real life,
But that Nilxis realistic clouds mod really bothers me, The cloud is moving way too fast in my game for some unknown reason. At first I thought it was the normal speed. But when I saw your video with the clouds moving slowly, I think there is some mods that is changing the speed of the clouds in my game.
Edit: ok I saw it doing the same thing in your game. @6:57. But how come earlier in your video @5:47, the clouds move "realistically" slower? Everytime i look up at my skies I see the clouds moving fast like @6:57. So it kinds of annoyed me a little. But because I am occupied with playing my sims most of the time, it is not exactly high on my "annoyed by it" list. But I still want to try and figure out how to slow the clouds speed down.
@m.d.f3797 hi! I'm so sorry you're having that issue. I also have the relativity mod, and I love it! I'm not currently playing with it since I'm still in the testing stage of creating V5 of my mods list. I also usually play with very large families, so I totally get it! I love having time to actually have a day and not feel rushed.
I think the reason the clouds sometimes look normal in my game is that I tend to edit the speed of some video clips. I don't have the ability to record my screen right now, so I take in-game video clips, which are usually about 5 seconds to 30 seconds long. And then I string those together in Microsoft clipchamp and add audio and music. Because of how I record the game, sometimes the camera moves too fast and it is nauseating, so I will slow the clip down. Other times I slow it down or speed it up to fit the audio better. I don't remember having that issues with the clouds in version 4 of the Washburn Edition while I was using relativity. I'll go back and check my editing when I have time and see if I edited those clips 😊 and if I have time I'll do a little testing to see if I noticed that issue.

I installed the beta lighting mod by boring bones and I love it. I only have one problem with it - while the outdoors look stunning and vivid, the indoors are way too dark to my liking (and I even have a mod installed that lets windows let in more light inside). Have you any idea how to amend this?

@@deenn376 Here is the second one. I think you might already be using it. There are two different file to use. One where they are all merged, use this one if you own every expansion pack AND stuff pack. The other file is seperated. Only use the files for the packs that you have. Some videos ago you said that the game runs perfectly fine in the normal speed mode (except of our enemy Isla Paradiso 😂). What about 2x oder 3x? Were you able to make some adjustments to make the game run better in a higher speed?

And yes I did! My update to V5 seems to have fixed 2x and 3x speeds! It runs buttery smooth now with only rare, occasionally 1/2 second lag! I'm incredibly happy with it 😁😁😁 and Isla Paradiso is running much better as well!!

It won't be to everyone's flavor, I try to explain that the camera is built to incentivize you to play closer to your sims in game. That's not everyone's preference which is perfectly fine, in any case I had no idea you already knew of my mod, this makes me excited that my projects reach many people! I was having a little trouble with the controls, but it might just take some getting used to. I have been searching through Mod The Sims and every site I could find for mods while developing version 5. Best of luck on all your future endeavors! You are very talented!
@@GoldenEnninasSims3 It's no problem at all! I had many testers who said it took some time getting used to. Most stated once they got used to the controls their gameplay felt cozier, some preferred the original controls because they didn't mind the distance between them and the sims.
So I completely understand this is just personal preference! I still uploaded the mod because once I ran a follower gift poll most expressed interest in it, the mod was originally just for my discord server!
So, I will never take any offense, in fact, what you experienced has been expressed before, this is why I uploaded the shimrod changes so that many who play with this mod already feel familiar with it. The mod will continue to reach people and all are welcome to experience it!

I wish the sims 3 had a wabbajack modlist, would make it so much more assessible for people not skilled in modding it. I tried using Lovelyduchesses light and shader mods and my game got bricked, wouldn't even launch. I had to uninstall it all. It was obviously down to user error but its still so confusing to me tbh
@honinakecheta601 I completely understand! I was very overwhelmed by modding when I first got started. There was definitely a lot to learn. If you're interested, I made a comprehensive guide video on installing mods. I have also used those mods by Lazy Duchess. There is definitely a learning curve to install them. I'm not currently using them on Version 5, I'm just using Boring Bones Beta Lighting mod.
I also wish there was an easier way to install mods for The Sims 3. At some point, I hope there will be. I mean, we have a really amazing modding community that I'm sure will come up with something at some point 😊 And once they do, I'll be sure to make a video to announce it! In the meantime, do you have any questions about installing mods?
@@GoldenEnninasSims3 I will def check out your guide, and look into the BBB Lighting mod. Right now I am looking for a way to make the lighting and shadows in my game look better, I have a pretty beefy rig so I can play Sims 3 on its highest settings with mods no problem just need a good guide for installing light and shadow upgrades
@honinakecheta601 well then boring bones lighting mod is for you! It's really easy to install, you just download it and put it into your overrides folder 😁 outside of the 4K terrain mod, and a few smaller mods that's mainly what's making my game look so good!

@@sre2427 hi! This mods list is designed for weaker laptops. I am playing The Sims 3 with all of my hundreds of mods, the graphics maxed out, and using all expansion packs on my little two year old Samsung Galaxy laptop 😁
