It actually looks very serene and full of liminal spaces. There’s a strange sort of peacefulness with everything being so empty. I imagine the game runs much smoother too😭
Same goes for sims 2 if you put veiw distance to low and disable neighbours.For some reason mine was low by default so I kinda got scared the first time I loaded into lot lol. It gave me the biggest backrooms vibes

I’ve played the sims 4 a lot and it just feels like a lifeless doll house and the sims imo look less realistic, kind of like clay, that’s just my opinion though. But I also don’t like how scammy the sims 4 packs are, they split up sims 3 expansions into like 3 or 4 different packs (eg. Supernatural = Vampires, werewolves, realm of magic, paranormal) (there are plenty more examples of this) I really feel like the sims 4 is a cash grab and no matter how many packs you get it still feels empty and lifeless even the new packs come with bugs and glitches straight out of release. To each their own I guess, just putting out my reasons as to why I prefer the sims 3 having played the sims 4 for hundreds of hours.

I don’t think I have ever had as much fun in my life as when I first played the sims as a kid. Really great memories

I think for me the big disadvantage in sims 4 is that you can't move freely whenever you want, i used to go walk and drive everywhere i wanted, place lots everywhere i wanted... There was a lot of advantages...
I never thought low graphics could make Sims 3 so tranquil...no clutter, just pure, serene gameplay. Meanwhile, Sims 4 is still trying to figure out how to walk without tripping over its own patches.

When I turn my graphics down, some occupied buildings disappear, but the sims inside are still interacting with ghost items. It looks like some alien race is trying to act human.

This is how I play in 2024 🫣 I play on a cheap laptop and I’m willing to sacrifice aesthetic for function rather than have high graphics and burn my laptop to death. As long as I can play and have a good time, I don’t need things to look perfect. But I know the day I get a decent PC and can turn those babies up, it’ll be like experiencing shrimp colors for the first time.

this is such an odd experience, it's like experiencing the sims 3 but thru your memories instead of how it actually was :[ 11 years ago I remember replaying that sims 4 reveal trailer at gamescom and then having my trust absolutely obliterated by what we have now :/

I played like this a lot. I could never get the sims 3 to play nice no matter how much I upgraded my pc. Now, sims 4 I’ve run on ultra since day one. It is a much less ambitious game though
@@mommalion7028 yeah, it's a strange feeling... Also things have a different impact on us depending on our age... I think it's normal to be more patient when you are younger. Now, when my Sims 3 game lags, which is prone to do no matter what, I get more annoyed than before lol

its really easy to fix this. if you want to. some people like the bland texture but its mainly because your graphics card is not recognizable. go to your program files (which ever one you choose), electronic arts/the sims 3/game/bin/graphic rules file (make sure its open in notepad) once you open this file, scroll down til you see "option terrainquality" or just search it by pressing "ctrl + f" then you will see this like mines option TerrainQuality setting $Low prop $ConfigGroup TerrainLODBoost 0 setting $Medium prop $ConfigGroup TerrainLODBoost 1 setting $High prop $ConfigGroup TerrainLODBoost 1

also if your graphic rules file wont save as a replacement. save it on your desktop 1st and then drag it in your bin folder to replace it :). (I would recommend keeping the old file though, just put it somewhere in a folder so you don't forget. sometimes you can make a mistake on something without even knowing)
