Huge shout out to y'all & this video, started playing Breath of the Wild and didn't like how joy cons or gamecube controller felt. Was about to overpay for a switch pro controller for $60-70 but found this video first and ended up saving $50 while playing with the best controller on the market that I happened to already own. The dualsense looks like it was made for the switch oled ...or the other way around, either way they look so good together with the black and white.

I do have the v1 of the adapter(the orange one), and I can confirm that the dualsense works perfectly fine with the switch, I just updated the firmware on it and it worked like a charm, shout out to 8bitdo for including all the features for the old version in their latest update, great channel btw
You ever get random disconnects? I've been using the grey one for sometime and that started recently.
@@waffleson45 now that you mentioned it, it has happened to me once in the last 6 months but I didn't give it any importance since I used the same controller on my PC via bluetooth before and it did the same thing a couple of times, so now I wonder if its the dualsense, the 8bitdo adapter or the bluetooth card on the PC
Thanks gonna use this for live a live on my oled. My switch's A button required a hard press to work. Was already seeing joy con prices at 107€. So yea. Thanks. And my ps5 controller feels way nicer in my hands too. Really happy with this solution. Can even connect my headphones to the controller now unlike with switch, whereas I could still use Bluetooth on my lg c1 with that. Now I will play with either Bluetooth headphones or wired with my controller.

Great video!!! Only thing I would add, would be to walk players how to switch the A and B buttons because for Nintendo switch they are backwards. Other than that perfect video!!!!

If your switch is jailbroken (with a rcm jig or modchip) you can use a ps5 controller natively with mission control

2. Can you fit two dongs at the same time in the switch docking station which makes it avaliable for instance to play Mario Kart with to ps5 controllers at the same time?

Thank you! If the dongle is attached it'll connect to the Switch first as that's what's most recently paired to the controller. You'll need to repair the controller with the PS5 when you want to use it with that. If you use a USB extension it should work with two dongles but I don't think they'll fit correctly if trying to use without an extension :)

I bought it and it arrived just an hour ago, works splendidly!
Really my only gripe with it is the fact that you'll need one adapter per controller, which I must've overlooked before I bought it.
That means if I want to play with my girlfriend and she wants to use her dualsense, too, we'll require a second adapter.
Other than that, it's formidable.

What would a review gain from a claim such as this one. I might have just as well said "my friend/s" instead of girlfriend, and if I had neither of those, said remark would have been unnecessary, as I would not have had to test to see if a second controller can be added or not.

Small question: does the Adapter fit into the inside USB Port of the Nintendo switch dock station?
My wireless headset also uses a Adapter and two adapters would not fit on the outside ports.
I don't know if it works when connected/paired with the switch, but by default, you should be able to turn off the ps5 controller by pressing and holding the PlayStation logo button for 5-10 good long seconds.

Great video! I own a switch but consider buying the DS5, just wanted to check if it will work with: 1. Other wireless adapter as the 8bit seems to be sold out everywhere online... and also 2. Until I find a wireless dongle, can I connect the DS5 with the switch directly with the cable?
Not sure on other dongles, only tested this one and no I don't believe it works via the USB cable

Hows the vibration and controlls and hows the gamplaying feel like when playing with the ps5 controller over joycons and the pro controller and just any controller you've tried. If you dont mind my asking
I always use the official Pro controller myself but this is really good, saves a lot of money if you have one of these already and not a Pro controller

Two adapters, yeah it does have two usb inputs but you'd probably need to buy a USB hub to plug in because you can't fit two adapters side by side they're too big

I like to mix my Xbox and PS4 controller with the joycons from time to time. Just to don't be stall with the same feeling

I've been using the grey ps1 classic version 8bitdo for years and the NES and SNES classic 8bitdo for even longer, recently they started randomly disconnecting on PC and switch did that ever happen for you? Even happens when the controllers are fully charged.

if you don't have a pc just buy a pro wired controller, there is no rumble feature and it feels cheap as hell but it's the same price as this.

I believe it works to an extent but not fully like this one, that's why they made the V2

I have to ask, does this bypass the switches notorious Joycon Drift?
Every controller, on any platform, is susceptible to drift unless using joysticks that work via a magnetised system. If you have a controller that's drifting on Switch though and want to use a different controller using this adapter then yeah, providing that new controller doesn't have drift then you'll be fine.

I was able to use it with SEGA, NES and SNES.

You may be able to get a usb-c to usb-a adapter and plug it into the switch itself but I haven't tried that myself. Update it via the pc, pretty sure I show how to do that in the video?

The bitdo pro+ connects to the switch normally, but blutooth audio will then work like shait, or the controller is laggy af.

Only one controller per dongle sadly, I haven't actually tried bluetooth audio using it!
Bro this isn't nothing new they've made adapters in order for you to use Xbox or PlayStation controllers with the switch. For a minute here I was thinking all you had to do is synchronize it to the switch. I don't own a PC so yeah
The idea isn't new but this adapter is, which lets you use a PS5 dual sense controller, the older ones only let you use the PS4/Xbox controllers

The firmware update for the 8bitdo for DS5 compatibility has been out for some time man.
edit: works for the orange, grey and black 8bitdo wireless adapter. Just flash the new firmware onto it.
Forgot to mention: No NFC, no wake up with home, 3.5 mm jack won't work.
And it sucks it doesn't work in table top mode, unless some extra adapters used. Still Pro Controller the way to go for me. Also, 1 adapter per foreign controller sucks as well.
Yeah I never said this was new, simply bringing it to peoples attention that are unaware of it. The adapter 2 is actually fairly recent though

If there was no "Now" in the title and added a picture of a 8bitdo in the thumbnail; I wouldn't have considered this video as a clickbait. I would have found it very infomative for ppl who don't know about it. You missed a few points mentioned before though, could have been a bit more thorough if it's gonna be a informative video.
Don't get me wrong, I did liked the video and watched the whole thing. How it was put togheter, the style and presentation was all good. Just my honest opinion about the situation.

absolute garbage battery life on the ps5 dual sense controller, 3-4 hours with constant heavy use, leave it alone for a few days and it goes dead, buyer be aware.
