Ariens Snow Blower - Complete Tune-Up & Maintenance

Grease Axles, Grease Points, Lubrications, Oil and Spark Plug Change. This is the first time on a 3-year old machine that I greased the axles. I wish I had done this when it was brand new!
For the record, a good friend clarified some technical terms that I got wrong on this video: FYI.. the little "weight" that dropped out of the slot in the shaft is called a Woodruff Key. The slot is called a Keyway. The cotter pins are called Shear Pins or Shear Bolts. Just to be more technical. 👍

Thanks. I did my maintenance last week. The one tire with the shaft that has the Spline. I wish I saw this fine video prior. I couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t go back in all the way. That washer has to be moved around until it slides in properly. It was frustrating until I moved the washer and it slid in. Great, informative video, thanks. Mike i. 24:44

Grease or Never-Seize should be put on the axles annually. Quick procedure once used to it.
No idea why manufacturers (all brands) don’t dollop some grease on the axles before they leave the factory.
Very expensive repair if the axle need to be cut in half for internal mechanical service.
