    I ate this millet meal(swallow) while I was in secondary school,this was what we were given instead of Eba(garri). It's really nice.

    Mahangu (millet) is a staple in northern Namibia 🇳🇦, used to cook pap, poridge, brew oshikundu, traditional beer , make bread, etc. I didn't know that it can be successfully blended into flour, thanks for your video ❤

    The red or white coloured on is millet. This one used for Kunu is Guinea Corn.

    I'd love to try this, and also your red millet recipe made into swallow. But I've always been put off by the dirt I would have to clean. I will give this a try but hope I don't spend hours trying to get it clean. I have some questions, please.
    Can you dry this in the oven? Can you make this into kunu from the powder form?

      I know! Cleaning the grain is work, but I find this method of rinsing to get the dirt out a lot easier.
      Yes, I think it’s possible to make kunu from the flour. Just mix in water and sieve like we do for akamu .
      As for drying, I’ll say it best to dehydrate if your oven has that function. The regular oven drying will cook the grain and may prevent it from thickening/rising when making swallow. I hope my English will pass😁

    What else can i use this flour for? Can I soak for more than one day to get the benefits of fermentation? Do you think this would affect the taste and texture if fermented before drying and milling?
    One more question, you didn't wash your sorghum in your previous video. I would like to know why you didn't. Thank you 👍

      I believe you can bake with this. I plan to do same, and I’ll share my experience here. I also think fermentation can help improve the texture and taste.
      I did. I always wash my grains. They come with so much dust, stones and sand. I can’t use without wasting. The one I’m currently processing, I washed yesterday.

    My sister Sorghum is not Guinea Corn. We have Millet, Guinea Corn & Sorghum. Millet is the Cereal use for Pito & Beer Gunea Corn is the Cereal is used for Furah & Nakiri

      Another name for sorghum is "guinea corn" , this term is widely used in west Africa. Sorghum is the same thing as guinea corn. Check Google or any other browser.

      Actually guinea corn is not used to make fura. Millet is used in making fura.

      Five minutes is not enough to cook the swallow because it will still be tasting raw. You need more time. It is our staple, we cook it a lot
