I love Chris Stapletons voice. It's raw, gritty, and soulful.
Vince Gills voice is angelic.
Right? It's like the beautiful opposite twin of a perfect song.
The guitar solo is absolutely a work of art. It immediately gives the Vince Gill vibes and tone, but it’s redone just enough to match this outstanding vocal performance. This is an amazing performance
It would be hard to find two voices in country music that are more different than Vince and Chris. And as much as I love everything Chris does, Vince is one of the VERY few people that can out sing and out play Chris. (IMHO)
Vince's voice is smooth and soothing, Chris's voice is that gritty down home country voice . They are both amazing singers no one can replace ether one .
I love to see the joy on your face when you listen to this great performer.
He can sing ANYTHING!!! Love Vince Gill too. He's from Oklahoma like I am. Check out "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill.
Yes sir, you have to be very careful here, Vince Gill is a Legend, he is a Pure High Tenor and a Master Guitarist or just about any String Instrument, he's had a 20+ year career in Country Music, he's played on records from every genre, and he currently is a member of The Eagles! Vince's voice sounds like an Angel straight from Heaven....I love Chris, but he is a very different singer than Vince. You should definitely check out Vince's version of this song. And you have seen Vince, he played with Carrie Underwood on the "How Great Thou Art" video. Great Vince songs, "Go Rest High On That Mountain", "When I Call Your Name", "I Still Believe In You", "Never Knew Lonely", "Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin" and tons more. Enjoyed the reaction as usual.❤
Yes indeed & you heard what Chris had to say, thanking him for being a great mentor & concluding with "I love you from the bottom of my heart." Vince is obviously one of Chris's heroes.
You are correct in everything you said. That being said. Chris's version is just better. It's his voice that makes everything he touches gold.
Vince Gill is currently part of “The Eagles”. He’s not only a great singer/songwriter, he’s a very accomplished guitarist as well.
Plays great mandolin as well.
@@HeavyMetalBluegrass you’re right about that!!!
He's a stupid good guitarist correct
Absolutely. I agree.
HAVE ALWAYS LOVED VINCE BUT THERE IS A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN!!!!!!!! GO CHRIS GO. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL BE 66 YEARS OLD THIS TUESDAY MARCH 21, 2023 & LOVE SO MANY GENRES OF MUSIC FROM MY LIFE IT'S CRAZY............. CHRIS STAPLETON IS MY #1 OF ALL-TIME VOCALIST, SONGWRITER & GUITARIST WRAPPED UP ALL TOGETHER AS ONE MUSICAL LEGENDARY ARTIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pocket Full Of Gold Vince Gill and Go Rest High On That Mountain (for his brother that passed away) MUSTTTTTTTTT listen
Chris and Patti loveless sing you'll never leave Harlan alive at the country awards. It was amazing.Vince gill is a fantastic singer.
Your first should hear Vince's version of this song, because they have totally different voices, and both are amazing. For another amazingly beautiful song by Vince, check out 'Go rest high on that mountain'. For a fun one, check out 'One more last chance'
Was coming to say One More Last Chance.
Please give that man all the awards, Grammy, Emmy, Oscar's, hall of fame, nickelodeon lol doesn't matter just give it to him
It's really a toss up on rather Chris's version is better than Vince's. They are both great. I had the good fortune to see Vince Gill in concert back in the 90's.... what a fantastic show. He is a very accomplished guitarist and has such a great sense of humor.
Chris makes the phone book sound great!!
This is my favorite Vince Gill song. Chris covered it so well and stayed true to it. It's too gorgeous of a song not to. Vince is a country legend. His voice is beautiful and unmistakable as well, but totally different. You need to hear Vince sing it just because and you also need to hear his song, When I Call Your Name.
when i call your name, go rest high on that mountain and when i call your name... all gill classics.
It's amazing how people love to see other people enjoy or not enjoy things it drives and verifies or doesn't whatever they want
Never heard this song -Anything Chris Stapleton sings I love .
Vince and Chris are both amazing in their own right but they both have very distinct and unique voices that they are easily recognizable. But that is the only thing they have in common. I suggest hearing Vince's version or his song "Go Rest High on the Mountain"
Mr. Boyd, please listen to Vince Gill and Patti Loveless singing "Go Rest High on That Mountain" at George Jones' funeral. You'll instantly see why Chris Stapleton admires Vince Gill. There can be no bias between the two because they're so different...both utterly magnificent and literally incomparable. I hope you find a new appreciation for the gift of Vince Gill's voice and songwriting as you have for Chris Stapleton. All the best from Magnolia, Texas.
It makes me cry 😢
This song, by Vince Gill, made me fall in love and eventually marry my husband!!! I would give anything to hear Vince Gill live! He's truly THE GOAT!
Vince Gill Go Rest High on that Mountain
Vince gill is a legend. He's not as much as a powerhouse as Chris but he will make you feel his music no doubt.
I’m a huge Vince Gill fan. He does beautiful work with Patty Loveless too
Love❤ song
Classic. I grew up on that whole album. You still need to do the OG vince Gill version. So far looks like u did this one and the one where Allison Kraus sings most of it.
Vince Gill is an amazing musician (check the man’s Grammy stats or just how extensive the list of musicians/artists that have asked him to work on a collaboration), but his singing style is different. Chris & he both very similar in their excellence & different in delivery. Love then both. Vince is storyteller when he preforms. Pull up him telling the story of the time his dad got to meet Dolly. It’s a good laugh.
Vince Gill is an excellent musician and vocalist. You should check him out.
Your wrong in saying he's the best singer right now..he's probably the best singer/voice that's ever been. Plus the man has never hit a bad note in any of his live performances. He's unbelievable
You’ll like Vince Gill. His voice is very smooth. Not gritty like Chris, but very beautiful. He’s been touring with The Eagles for the past 3 or 4 years and he sang the lead vocals on a song by Pure Prairie League called Amy - check it out. Great song.
A couple of Vince’s you should also listen to are Pocket Full of Gold and When I Call Your Name.
I thought you had already done this. Figures CMT blocked it. Anyway, it’s a good reminder for you to finally check out Vince Gill. He’s incredible. Like, Chris is great, but Vince is legendary. “Go Rest High on that Mountain” or “When I Call Your Name” are good ones to start with.
Vince Gill tours with the Eagles now. You should check out his duet of "I Will Always Love You", with Dolly Parton, who wrote the song way back when.
MRLBOYD I see you love Chris Stapleton. Who Doesn't? But Check out Chris in the group called The SteelDrivers. Pre 2010. Songs Like Ghost of Mississippi, and Blue side of the mountain. If it hadn't been for love
Omg, Child, let me school you with one song. “Go rest high on that mountain” Vince Gill
You'd be wrong! I love Chris Stapleton, but Vince Gill Is Legend!!!!!!!! Nobody sings like Vince, And he is considered one of the greatest guitarists around. You should listen to his version
Nobody Answers When I Call Your Name is the Vince Gill song you should react to! 👵🏼💜☮️
Pocket full of gold vince gill
😊
You must do Vince gill “lost in a world without haggard”
Chris does an fine job on this song, but it’s missing something. A tenderness, and fragility, that Vince’s voice provides. I’ve been listening to Vince Gill for years. Chris has done some great songs. Given a choice, Vince Gill will always win out.
When digging into the Vince Gill songbook, start here with this song ( Whenever You Come Around).
- When I Call Your Name
- Never Knew Lonely
- Look At Us
- I Still Believe In You
- Don’t Let Our Love Start Slipping Away
- Tryin’ to Get Over You
- When Love Finds You
- Go Rest High on That Mountain
- Pretty Little Adriana
- You And You Alone
- If You Ever Have Forever in Mind
- The Heart Won’t Lie with Reba McEntire
Your right I think Chris does it better!! I love them both but I think Chris is the better singer!!!!
He also sings Garth Brooks "Shameless" as good or better then him.

Vince Gill: "So that's how that song is supposed to be sung"...😂😂
Vince sang this in a sweeter tone, Chris in a more painful tone.

Chris usually tops the original when he covers a song. This is a very good cover. But Vince did it better. Imho
Vince Gill actually seems this much better than Chris
I’ve seen this reaction from u in the past this isn’t new
