Wow. You stocked up. I went to grocery outlet a couple times. I think a few are opening up soon in MD. Great deals. I love shopping on a budget. I recently got that Miyoko’s liquid cheese for free.
You got some great deals! Please keep in mind, though, that the expiration dates on the packages are not the dates that the product inside goes bad. Rather they are dates that the manufacturer recommends that they be pulled from the shelf in favor of newer product. If the products have been kept in reasonable and appropriate environments, there is nothing wrong with them after the sell-by date.
These deals are wild, I would be so happy if my freezer looked like that. I haven't seen some of these options before, would be curious to know how they turn out!
If anyone reading this lives in Phoenix, or heck anyone in the State of Arizona, it's worth the drive to go to these two places: American Discount Foods and Superstition Ranch Market. Both in Mesa and you will save a TON on both produce and convenience/processed plant based foods. Even if it's a bit of a drive for you, it's still worth it. You will thank me later.
Yes, in California we have Grocery Outlet stores and they are pretty good. I've never found the variety of vegan junk/fast food you did at your store, but they do have some variety depending on which one you visit. Our prices are quite a bit higher on food in California though.
OMG MORNING STAR and BOCA! Haven't seen those brands in many moons. I live in SW Ontario and we have a lot of new funky products - hot damn it's pricy though to get those convince foods! My weakness is all the local artisan vegan cheeses at our grocer which are about $11 - $14 a pop. My current fave is a caramelized onion cheddar - ding, ding, ding! I dig your freezer! Watch out for Zombies.
I'm nutso for the Sweet Earth frozen cauliflower mac & cheese. You got a bargain on those, they're around $6 here in Michigan. I add nooch and hot pepper or hot sauce. Really good with steamed broccoli, and/or chopped veggie dogs!!! The Sweet Earth Pad Thai is yummy, I add steamed veggies, hot pepper, sesame oil, peanuts. I can't believe what a bargain you got on that! The Chao cheese is my current fave. All flavors.
Yes! I love the cauliflower Mac and cheese and I do the same. Either that or buffalo sauce. I don’t like the mushrooms in the pad Thai. I have to pick them out.
Hey Chris, 👍on your haul and greats buys. I'll definitely have to take a trip to Grocery Outlet, because they have a lot of vegan products!!! Thanks for sharing 💎
Wow amazing savings, In Canada that exact Amy's loaf dinner is 9.99 Earth balance and Violife cheese are 8.99 for the same size bag. Miyoko's butter is 9.99 not sure about her mozzarella, never seen it here.
Dude these prices are crazy. Those tofurky bbq chicken, they're not 99 cents here, they're 3.48. I just picked some up last night and ate half about an hour ago. Yummy stuff. Glad you got a good haul and thanks for the Chao tip.
Wow what an incredible food haul! You got really great deals on all of that food. You got some really good stuff as well. Every area needs to have a store like this. I didn't know that you could put the Miyoko's liquid mozzarella in the freezer. Noted for future reference. It's awesome that you saved so much money👌👍🌱🙂
Wow...that is a very envious shopping haul if I have ever seen!! I love Chao and the liquid mozzarella cheese that usually goes for close to $9.00 where I am. If I found Chao cheese for 99 cents I would buy every single one..😂
Yeah, Grocery Outlet is the west coast equivalent, we have it here in the Seattle area. The produce is usually not a good deal, but pretty much everything else is. I buy like 90% of the processed food I eat there. I'm generally a whole food vegan, so I don't eat a lot of processed food to begin with, but if I do, I buy it there. I got like 10 packages of the Field Roast stadium hot dogs for $.99 each last month and I'll be feeding kids hot dogs all summer! I often get the tetra pak tofu for $.50 each and they've had Oatly barista blend for $.99 for two months! It's $5.99 at Whole Foods. I got 20 of them last time I went in. I only go once a month or I'd be too tempted, but I think they're a great place to hit for staples before you do regular grocery shopping. I bet you could feed yourself for $200/mo. easily just buying stuff from there, even with usually expensive processed stuff. Oh yeah, great prices on things like chia seeds, flax, matcha, all the foo foo vegan super foods that are so popular...they have an entire aisle of organic/vegan type stuff. If you have one near you and haven't gone in yet, you really should. I mean, if you like money, you should! 😜
Same! I go to the one in Monroe. Affectionately known as the local Gross Out. :-) I love being surprised by the new vegan items almost every week. I bought a bunch of the Very Good Butchers vegan ribs and steaks a few months back. Super cheap.
SUPER ENVY happening here. I do not have anything like that near me. Any bargain store has little to nothing vegan other than produce, usually not organic. I toy with the idea of costco, but am waffling because I do not think anyone should have to pay extra to get bulk sizing, and I have been told that the majority of membership fees goes to paying for flesh so they can have those ultra cheap flesh offers, and they do not seem to have 20 lb or bigger bags of organic flours or rices.
Is this the one in Utica? It’s 2 hours away from us but looks like it’s worth the trip if it’s the one you went to. We use to go to BUDDAS near the regional farmers market but they closed. Lyncourt Grocery outlet is hit and miss.
That’s great you got blessed with a discount store to get you all of that. Everyone needs a discount store in their local areas like that. I like the book at the end of the video.
@@veganleigh4817 he seems healthy I have been following him since 2016, I love all types of vegan foods I just wish they didn't have saturated fats or high sodium. I know a few years back he stopped eating fat for a bit because his cholesterol was high.
I used to love vegan cheese but then i noticed it is mostly oil and not equivalent protein-wise so now I don’t usually spend the $ on it. Prices are getting ridiculous for vegan products. For me I am sticking more with beans, grains etc it is cheaper. I do splurge buying vegan chicke or beef bouillon it makes a big difference as does miso
Yes it’s Bargain Grocer in Utica I say it in the beginning of the video. If you’re in the area definitely stop by and see what they have. You have the Vegan Grocery Store
And does it have a chapter about what to do if one has already aged....? The last 5 years with emphasis on the last 3 have been hard on my anti aging attempts.
Thanks Chris, you're awesome ! I've been watching your channel for many years now. I got my dogs on the v-dog years ago because of you. Thanks.@@TheVeganZombie
They are not expiration dates; they are best by dates... so it's not correct to say that the food is almost expired; rather, it's almost out of date or almost past (the best by) date. We don't have anything like this (or Grocery Outlet) down south. Totally jealous. When items are marked down (for whatever reason) like at Kroger or Meijer, I often stock up big time. For the cold/frozen items, vegan items always last a while. I've has vegan sausage (field roast, keep in the fridge, purchased for $.75 each) that was fine over a year past the best by date. I've also had vegan yogurt that tasted perfectly fine 6+ months past the best by. Just another perk to eating (and being) vegan.
Sorry, expiration date and best by date are one in the same to me. I usually still eat food unless it’s very old or perishable. But it’s very real. Some food is just horrible if it’s been sitting for too long. This case is no different. Some of their food is good and I’ve had some I’ve had to throw away. Since doing this video, I’ve tried a few things. The kite hill had to be tossed in the garbage.
Bummer. Not a big surprise though considering their prices were always like double that of other's. I worry about pricey vegan brands like them or No Evil.
This is possibly the most impressive bargains haul I've ever seen! Well done, Chris, and thanks for the inspiration : )
My pleasure! 😂
I also love Amy's supreme pizza but it's ridiculously expensive here at Whole Foods for $12. You got great bargains there👍
Yes! I think it’s the best frozen vegan pizza. The price is a bit steep, though. Unfortunately, WF is the only store near me that sells it. 😩
Yeah they are pretty expensive now. I couldn’t pass up the $4 ones.
You are making a case foe folks who are on a tight budget and can’t afford boguie vegan foos. 😍
HI Chris, your skin is glowing. You are a model for long term veganism mate.
Aww thank you 😊

Holy deals, Batman! 😲 That is one beautiful haul and the prices are unbelievable! Wish we had this in Boston!
Here in Western Massachusetts my equivalent is Ocean State Job Lot.
I haven’t been there in a minute. Do they have a lot of vegan items?
Those prices are insane! At least a fifth of the normal price. Good job!
I love grocery outlet!!!!!! They have so much great vegan stuff!!

Alot of the pre-packaged meals are so high in sodium. I have to be careful when i eat any or ill pay later bc of high BP 😢
