Walmart is getting better with their vegan options. I just don’t go there as often. I should though. The prices are so much better, and I’m hella cheap. Their Daring chicken is $5 and change. Other places, they could go up to $8.
Your videos are very informative and I appreciate that you let us see the ingredients on each of these items you're talking about. For some reason so many of the items you showed I don't find in Walmart where I live but I will try to look a lot closer maybe I just missed them.
The Gardien soups and chilis have a hella ton of sodium. Bummed because they're decent but I'm with you. The Amy's lentil and veggie is awesome and they have a low sodium version if anyone is interested
A tip that I found with the Gardein soups... add about a half can of water and its perfect; otherwise too salty... which is actually why I don't eat them anymore (they are super high in sodium)
I think the Kikkoman Miso soup label showed it had mackerel powder in it so it is NOT vegan. I just wish they would make things easy and just put the V on things when they are. So much easier!!! Thanks for the video, enjoyed looking at all the various products.
There’s on Walmart about 15 minutes away from the farm that I go to to get some nice vegan options to put in the air fryer when I’m staying out here! I love the veganism has come such a long way.
Okay....I'm really glad you told us about the plantbased pot pie! I see those all the time. It's really frustrating that these companies sneak in dairy and egg. Why can't they just make everything vegan? It would be a lot easier.
Plant based- (of food or a diet) consisting largely or solely of vegetables, grains, pulses, or other foods derived from plants rather than animal products. Unfortunately, Plant based means vegetarian. Never trust the plant base label. Read the ingredients. Hell, I don't even trust things that are labeled vegan. I always read the ingredients. Lol
Thanks for choosing Walmart... I would like to eat less lean meats for more plant base but the fat from oil is pretty high if you eat 3 prepared meals per day. Just that flat bread has over 40g of fat if you have half for lunch and other half for dinner. Can you get heart problems with so much oils?
Their fishless filets are delicious. They taste incredible when dipped in Veganaise. Every non-vegan I had try them, ended up eating some of mine. Make sure to try with the original Veganaise, it makes all the difference. Enjoy. 🙂
Thanks so much Chris. This was incredibly helpful. I watched it a second time and toggled between my Walmart app and the video. I used the “My items” feature to make a list of products I will try, based on this video. There were a few items that my local store does not carry. I am especially looking forward to the Cybele’s cookies and the tomato basil soup. Thanks again!
Omnifoods is from Hong Kong (where I'm from), and it's really good! They are constantly improving their products too. The latest version of the "luncheon meat" (aka spam) is meaty, savoury and way less greasy than you'd expect. They also have a canned Omnituna, which is hands down the best plant-based tuna I've tried.
I don't use walmart or eat much of the stuff shown, yet it is really cool there is this vid highlighting it all, because as, I believe Linda, stated, they are widespread, making access to vegan stuff also widespread.
You're lucky in America! Here in Italy i could make a 1 minute long video about vegan food available on the grocery store... they have like 10 products. And if you try another store, you'll find the same exactly stuff. So unfair!
It's nit the same everywhere. Where I am is still pretty close minded when it comes to veganism. I am in New Orleans LA and there is a tiny section in the freezer and a tiny section on the shelf. I pretty much stick to the produce isle. Lol
Just found the Pacific Foods Verde chili at Wal-Mart! I also enjoy spice. Bought the PF Verde Chili and added some Daring chicken original as well as some wegmanns parmesan style cheese. Made some jiffy cornbread with banana instead of eggs. It was a delicious cheap meal. Served myself and my non-vegan mother. We both really enjoyed it. ❤
The best vegan grocery video I’ve ever seen!!! Super great job buddy, loved how you showed the prices up close and all the ingredients. Make more, maybe a fast food or street food vegan video
Just found that Better than Bullion's mushroom broth that is now vegan. It's a super good base to make diy miso/ramen. That, a little miso, seaweed, ginger, garlic and a dash of liquid smoke. Good stuff. Thanks for making these videos!
That chicken and waffle is the bomb. Incogmeato is one of the best faux meat. Throw in a slice of smoke gouda and just egg for next level greatness. Lol Omnipork is hands down the best, though.
@@TheVeganZombie The wife makes the best Masubi I've ever had with the "spam" omnipork. The secret to perfect white rice is a 1 to 1 ratio. Ignore the rice bag directions.
Morning star products Are my daughter's favorite. Their pringles chick'n fries are pretty good. I love gardein as well. Daring Nuggets are pretty good too.
I love the wholly veggie mozzarella sticks! Definitely watch out for Morning Star I’ve accidentally purchased vegetarian products and had to return them.
Schneider of Hanover jalapeño pieces are vegan, as well as lays classic. If you’re looking for familiar junk food. Duncan Hines brownie mix with some black beans is also good.
That was fun!! ❤️Walmart does have a lot more Vegan items than I thought. Thanks for showing us all the Vegan products Chris!!😃 By the way your trees are beautiful in your backyard! They are so green and healthy looking!! 👍🏻👍🏻👋
This was a great video! Amy’s used to have a Mexican vegan pot pie with a polenta-like crust on top. I absolutely loved it, and the stores near me no longer carry it 😢
I just finished riding my bike from Seattle to DC and probably stopped at 40 Walmarts across the country on the way. I wish I saw this 2 months ago because I did not know about many of these and did not see them 😂
The walmart where i am is better than whole foods with its vegan and especially their gluten free options. This would have come in so handy whenni was transitioning. I dont really eat processed food these days though because i am more wfpb low sodium and oil free... also gluten free.
I have just started trying to become meatless and dairy-less and so thiugh not the healthiest and still highly processed, anddd also even thiugh many "vegan" meals are pretty common sense, the pre made stuff does help for skmeone starting. The tofurky has been great to easily find a way to change my lunch out at work and i believe i got the follow your heart cheese you shiwed jn this which both taste amazing actually. But starting with small thibgs like this at walmart has been great. Still sketchy to know in america with our relaxed health and food standards to know who is putting terrible thibgs in our food thats even kabeled heakthy but its a start
That was nice walkthrough of vegan products to help those that shops at walmart. I am also still furious they are using only plant based on labels then vegan.
I just don't know how they can say plant based and put milk ! Milk is a animal product not a plant . These companies are miss leading people. I read every and look for the word vegan. I've been vegan since 2015
What are your thoughts on GMOs? I ask only because some of the products your showing list bioengineered food ingredients. I try to avoid them as much as possible but I’m curious what others think of them.
This is some bs. My Walmart has way less and isn't so orderly. I had to push a bunch of non vegan stuff out of the way to get some gardein soup from the back of a bottom shelf. They do have miyokos liquid mozzarella though. Good video
I’m trying to eat more plant based. I have to eat GF and a lot of the processed vegan foods have wheat gluten which sucks for me. I’m looking at other RUclipsrs who make plant based GF made with Whole Foods.. I used to eat a lot of the morning star until I found out I had a gluten intolerance
damn , I want to try all of this . Ngl , in Russia we only have 2 or 3 vegan things if you lucky . Also, those vegan things you showed , it's even cheaper for me than simmilar things here . Thanks for the video, it was great to see all this. Piece ✌️🤙
Watch out for “natural flavors”. Probably why the frozen Asian food you were wondering about isn’t vegan. One said bioengineered ingredients. I’m pretty sure that can’t be technically vegan if you want the v on the label.
My theory about products being labeled vegetarian when they're actually vegan is that there's still a stigma against veganism, and they don't want the word on their packaging. Edit: I can't believe the amount of vegan items at your Walmart! Mine, in Georgia, has about a tenth of yours. Jealous.
I wondered if it was for allergy purposes. Someone might see the word "vegan" and assume it's safe, not realizing it was made in a facility that processes milk or eggs,.
It's easy for a lot of vegans to act very privileged when it comes to their food. It's one of the things that turns me off about the community. Not everyone has a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, but Walmart is almost everywhere. It's nice to see all of these vegan options. Though I'm no longer vegan, I still eat veg*n maybe twice a week and keep a stash of Gardein in the freezer. Being lactose intolerant, I use all the plant-based milks. I think Gardein is the best, readily available, brand and makes a great convenience food. Vegan or not, I'm still a sub, as far back as the 'amazing cake,' 12 yrs ago.
I drove 40 minutes to walmart and they had NONE of these items! NONE! except the great value almond milk. NO tofurky, no vegan cheese, no tofu HELP Meeeee!!!!!!!
