    I study sports science and yes your body uses glucose for energy but not from the food you just ate. The food you just ate still require time for digestion and that will happen via the parasympathetic nervous system when your heart rate decreases, digestion increases and vice versa. You can make light movements like walking to increase digestion but vigorous activity would decrease rate of digestion.

      i've been battling the same problem as you since summer started. i can safely say that eating fibre first and always trying to have some greens before any meal has made a huge difference. i always feel lighter and more energetic afterwards, even if i've eaten fries or chicken nuggets. it also helps to not overeat until you're full, which is so important. i also strive to not eat atleast 3 or 4 hours after every meal i have, even if it's only cravings. it was so absolutely difficult at the start but now i feel much more capable of doing it. i've lost around 5kg since i started and i haven't restricted myself from any kind of foods as well.
      if i can do it, i know you are strong enough to do it. binge eating is one hell of a demon, but getting some of the control back is the best feeling ever. i wish you the best through your journey :)

    Great video! Thank you for breaking down all of this info. Something to add though, carbs like bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, etc turn into resistant starches after being cooled down. So if you refrigerated the restaurant pizza and ate it the next day it might have decreased your glucose level further than if it were a fresh pizza.

    Awesome video! Really appreciate the graphs and measurements. Your presentation is super calm, friendly, easy to follow and the video is not exhaustingly long, which I appreciate :) Video creators nowadays are trending towards longer and longer content which isn't always necessary imho.
    If I can add a personal story, this really works. One of my closest friends had gestational diabetes during her pregnancy which increases risk of pre-eclampsia and other dangerous health complications for both mom and baby. So in short, very serious situation that needed prompt attention. AFAIK, she used mostly these methods to very successfully control her blood sugar, avoid pre-eclampsia and had a very healthy and normal-sized baby (GD can cause a sort of 'overgrowth' due to the changes in mom's blood sugar and baby's nutrient supply - apologies if my explanation is wonky or incorrect, it's been a while since we've talked about this). These tactics helped her keep her blood sugar very stable and under control, and interestingly enough she actually lost quite a bit of weight early in her pregnancy due to these dietary and habitual changes.
    So if a pregnant lady got real help for her very serious medical condition from these 'hacks', you can be very sure that it's both safe, effective and doable!

    Thanks for the video. I saw the hack eating dessert mostly after lunch or dinner instead having them on their own. Because I used to eat chocolate bars and stuff to feel not hungry but I used to get more hungry and exhausted after eating chocolate. Now, make sure I eat my meal first if I crave for something sweet and it actually works for me because I don’t feel that constant craving of chocolate or junk food.

    THANK YOU FOR ALL THIS INFO!! It’s so informative I feel like I’ve learned so much! Do you recommend using these hacks before having a morning coffee? Eg eating a piece of vegetable first rather than having coffee first on an empty stomach.

    • @hannaukim
      @hannaukim  2 месяца назад

      Yes! I have just read a few things from Jessie Inchauspé and she suggests to have coffee after a meal rather than before. So i would think if you are to have it on an empty stomach, best to start with these hacks first (as you said, veges before coffee, that sounds like a good idea 🥦) Especially if your coffee has sugar or sweetner in it. She also mentions oat milk can spike up glucose levels as oat itself is a carb, so normal milk is a better alternative! And finally, pairing your coffee with fats like nuts is also a great way to lower the spike! Hope that helps

    Hey, love the video, lots of tips! Just a heads up, tho, drinking vinegar every day can have some risks. Even though it might help with blood sugar and digestion, too much (like 50-100ml a day) can cause issues like stomach irritation, tooth enamel erosion, and potassium depletion. Also, it’s super acidic and can irritate your throat. Most people recommend just 1-2 tablespoons a day diluted in water to be safe. Just wanted to share, hope that helps! 😊

    This is probably the most helpful and eye opening vid I’ve seen all year 😵
    According to a genetic test I took I’m extremely sensitive to carbs, and after meals with carbs I’ve always felt extremely jittery to the point it’s almost painful. Like when forced to sit and work I can’t focus and I started to think I had restless leg syndrome 😆 but now it seems that irresistible compulsion to move has likely just been my body trying to lower a glucose spike. I’ve tried limiting carbs and taking 20k steps a day to mitigate that horrible feeling, but now I know there are even more hacks that can be added to help and they’re so freaking easy!!! Gonna buy vinegar today 😗🔥 srsly thank youuuuuu

      I never made a test but I feel so bad after eating a lot of carbs. Especially bread. One time I ate 3 buns and felt so bad. I was mentally and physically done.
