Yes! I believe this is specific to days you are sleep deprived, on regular days (when you had better sleep), I did hear Matthew Walker saying it is okay to have short 10-20mins naps before 1pm! Andrew Huberman also talks about this too!
I slept 3 - 4.5 hours for all eight years of high school and college. Now, years later, if I don't set an alarm, I will sleep a full 10 hours. I don't know anyone else who needs 10 whole hours a night. I think my body is still trying to fix all of the negative side effects that came from the lack of sleep, such as long term memory loss, and feeling hungry at all times. Please, sleep. I cannot encourage this enough 😊

This is so true because since I've started my job I've been sleeping like 4-5 hours and I've noticed that I have the craziest cravings for high sugar and carb foods and have less self-control but when I had the ability to sleep for however long I wanted I had that self-control and ate healthier. Long story short, we need to sleep more!

Am I the only one who never gets sleepy? Like, at all? I can fall asleep just fine if I lay there for long enough (I have to lay there for like an hour lmao-), but even melatonin just makes my eyes want to close and nothing else. It's definitely connected to my ADHD, as my brain is in a constant active state not matter what I try. Honestly I think I’m always afraid of sleeping. That’s the time when my head gets really quiet and all that bad thoughts come to my mind. I feel a little bit anxious too. But I’ll do my best to try to sleep better
used to sleep 2-4 hours a day 😭 now it’s 6 but i keep waking up every 20 minutes. I think it’s mainly anxiety of missing out or being scared of being late to something so I keep waking up to make sure I didn’t sleep for too long

i need like at least 11 hours of sleep to feel good. probably it’s because i am at quite a low weight and have some health problems generally. but i am honestly so confused. i used to sleep 9h every night, but now i have 2 schools, dancing classes, mathematics, gym, etc. and now i don’t have even 6 h of time to sleep
I'm pretty fucked when it comes to caffeine, 1-2 cans of monster and a few cups of coffee daily XD most of the other stuff I already knew/did. I wake up at 5 so I can't really wake up to natural sunlight, since the sun starts rising by the time I'm about to leave the house! I usually can wake up without alarms but it's better to have one, I don't always rise from my early grave that easily . It's always songs I like, so it's not those repetitive obnoxious annoying default alarms at least.. And writing down my thoughts is a good idea! I don't know why I haven't thought of it.. my head is just full of things, sometimes it takes hours to fall asleep.. wellll that's partly cuz my family sleeps a lot later than me, sometimes i can still hear the tv after midnight.. (ans then they're surprised i have a hard time falling asleep..). Also, I'm 14, but I only got my own room recently, I haven't even had it for a year. I slept in the same room with my parents and sister, and ofc the TV again.. mom sometimes only turned it off at like 3 am.. like, no, lowering the volume won't make the light of it go away, plus my problem is that i can hear it not that it's loud. I think that's also what messed with my sleep- I remember being really young and on multiple occasions I just tossed and turned in bed cause I couldn't sleep, sometimes even crying (still do that oopsies). Now, just because I was very young, doesn't mean I was stupid, I knew it was easier to stay awake for a few more hours than try sleeping and have to wake up.. well, my mom was often wondering why i was so tired, and when i mentioned the TV, she always avoided or ignored the topic.. but ohhhhhh I spend too much time on my phone, it's always on, stop watching things while eating.. guess what also applies to the TV? And when she mentions hygiene, I bring up the remote control, that multiple people use daily, and is cleaned when it rains cows.. compared to my phone only I use and clean almost every day. And it isn't hurting my eyes, maybe her phone hurts hers, cuz she's on full brightness all the time and holds it in her face instead of letting me adjust the text size (she doesn't want me to change anything.. she'll instantly *try, without success* blame us if her phone dares to update and an icon.. 🤯 changes! ).
I just realised this is kinda like my mind ramblings before bed, what you recommended to writer down.. well that's 30% done, gotta find some paper and get my colorful shiny pens for the rest.. after i take a shower ofc..

Currently I'm in a devastating state. I gained a lot. I feel stressed, fatigue and grumpy all the time. I Don't feel motivated at all to do any productive work. I have PCOS. This is actually my problem and I've known it. There's many reasons why to this besides phone usage. I do need a new mattress so I hope that helps.
