- Last weekend I removed a bit of weight from the E46 and headed to Cadwell Park. The day was great, but the video took a long time to put together. Hopefully it flows as there were some continuity problems! :)

How an e46 m3 should be used !
Fair play to you for tracking it .
Hey Danny. Obviously, you put in a lot of time to achieve these quality edits, man.👊 The commentary while checking out the cars in the lot was class... please continue. I hope the Saab guy and the Clio "bushes" guy somehow find this video.😂 I remember some time ago, you were in a mental dilemma of whether or not to modify the M3 from standard. Well, thankfully you've let all that go and decided to make it your own. Looks like the weight reduction really paid off - £3.05 for starters (I probably messed that up).😜 I really liked the final comparison of the DC2 vs. M3. Both are very quick, but the DC2 looks and sounds more raw and hectic, while the M3 is more relaxed and civilized and manages better lap times. Thanks for continuing to produce these quality videos, mate. As soon as I find your boss, I'm recommending you a substantial pay increase.👍 Cheers, brother!
Cheers Mick. It's great you take the time to leave these absolute unit comments, they're almost as much a part of this channel as the videos are. 👍
@@dannyDC2 I actually look for the Mick's comment after watching each of these videos. Somehow he manages a pretty spot-on summation. I don't think I've read anything from him that I could disagree with. Cheers Danny, and TheMick26!
@@dannyDC2 My pleasure, Dan.
@@benjaminrhodes9611 Thanks Benjamin. I really appreciate that.🙏 Regarding my comments and Dan's videos, in this case, the movie is much better than the book.😉
Ditto always have a read at what micks wrote he’s always on the money,in fact I was watching another RUclipsr the other day(sorry dan) and stumbled on a comment from mick so I had a read like you do,you probably make a good motoring journalist or something bud 👍
Hate to say it but I am starting to like your M3 more than the DC2, seems so balanced and smooth compared to the teggy. What surprised me was how well the bigger M3 did on a tiny circuit like that and its not even heavily modded yet.
Rear seats off, it's starting to get serious LOL
It's serious when you end up in one seat in a bear metal shell. Like my daily

That's integra style

Cool video Danny. The M3 is looking great. I algo like this walkarounds you are doing since Spain, showing us what cars attend. The ending was pure car pr0n between two of my all time favourite cars. Thanks!
Perfect spec of the car for what your doing, just so nice to watch ^^
Another brilliant edit and well worth the watch as always... loving the m3 more & more
Love how you appreciate the cheaper cars as much as the luxury ones, great videos pal, only found your channel today. From Barnsley.
I've got to say DannyDC2 you've done a really great job of this video!! It really brings us the views along on your day with your car at the track far more than many others. You have shots that are clear and bright you don't dwell on one area as the only area of the video you really make it a full experience. Thank you and well done. Some great shots of you battling of positions as well as the struggles that happen. You got some out side footage as well and then did a cool comparison shot at the end. The foot cam was much appreciated too. Thanks for the hard work on making this a very enjoyable video! I too own an E46 M3 and this shows the environment these cars were created for in the first place. So many people drag race or roll race these cars but that's not where they are meant to be. Clearly we could see this brand, model, and "M" year series shine here. The dream comes to life and it kicks but!
Cheers Greg 👍
really enjoying your channel mate. Good to see a youtuber making videos about useful things which people can actually relate to - and your 'no fooks given' attitude is refreshing. Your videos are always well edited and have a good mix of content from DIY oil changes to track day footage. It's also interesting to follow your journey from Honda to BMW which i'm sure a lot of people do. keep up the good work
Excellent teamwork! I’ve never tried having someone else run the pedals while i steered. You are a true master of the art.
My favourite RUclips channel. Certainly makes my Sunday better!
The perfect spec for an M3! As always quality Dan!
Your comments around the pits are amazing lol
I agree... jokes for days.😆 It's one of my favourite segments he does in these videos.
nice editing, very enjoyable to watch this.
Another great video, content has been class recently.
So glad your making videos again man ! Genuinely my favourite car channel on RUclips
The comparison video is awesome! I can't believe the power that M3 puts down! DannyDC2 for president 😉😎 well done you!!
Thanks for this video Danny, really enjoying your M3 content a lot.
Those sweet little mini powerslides on the damp track... love having no traction. haha
DAN! Glad to see you back making drift videos!! 🤣 that looked a good track day!!!
That heel toe is sick! Love the way you drive, very very NICE!
Great video work and nice driving. I have learned (IMHO) that the M3 really responds and has the power I seek when using higher RPM. But that's only when conditions are right and I'm feeling in top condition. No matter what it's smooth that is the answer. Good job. Thanks for the great content. I always am glad when you make a video and I can watch another E46 M3 owner and his experiences with man and machine. I can never imagine what it would be like to drive with the stick on the other side and the wheel over there. LOL.
Worth a like for the pedal cam alone. Nice driving and great setup. Fair play.
Nice video Danny, good driving, can't wait to get my Clio back on the road in the spring.
Loving the regular content dude keep it coming 👍
Loving these m3 videos. Keep them coming:)
Class driving dude ,super to watch ,keep er lit.
On hunt for e46 M3 myself now as may have to sell the E30 next year. Cadwell has been on my list for ages but it's 6 and a half hours away. I really like tracks with elevation changes though and think the E30 would be great fun. Good to see you getting the most from your E46 Dan. Looks and sounds great.
This Danny guy is easily one of the most competent drivers I've ever seen. Sshhh, don't tell him that!
100% quality content.
Excellent vid mate. Need to get myself to Cadwell next year. Haven't been yet
This camera angle and pedal cam is so perfect!
Sick vid as always man 🍺🍺
Really enjoyed the video Dan, quality content as always 👍
The bit where you checked out the cars around the pits was funny asf, that clio sure had some poly bushes, I hope the entire car has them with the size of those stickers 😂😂
always replace bushings
You’re a good driver. Really cool to watch.
You are really fast driver man! Congradulations!
That some really smooth driving mate
The part with teh foot cam is so unique and cool ! i subsribed due to this tiny piece. Keep it up !Hope we meet on the ring one day.
Great video as always Dan, the beemer is looking and riding great....hats off for giving it death despite the typical Cadwell damp and scary corners added to by someone else’s oil (not to mention being forced off line when some tool won’t concede the car behind is much faster).
Driving skills are brilliant so please don’t see this as lecturing/patronising but I personally think you add unnecessary downshifts....e.g from 4th through 3rd to 2nd, I was once taught (by a racing driver) to block shift (4th to 2nd in the same instance) and avoid the intermediate gearchange as the engine braking benefit is questionable when you could concentrate on just braking harder and only getting the one shift ‘right’ which means one less opportunity to unbalance the car (hope that makes sense).
All the best, I look forward to the next one! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
In the Integra I'd shift from 5th to 3rd sometimes approaching the mountain. Gears are a lot shorter there though. I don't think it would work very well in the M3, long gears, feels right coming down in order 👍
Looks like you need some transmission bushings! That shifter is all over.
Keep it up! Love that S54.
Great video, m3 looks so balanced
Great video, M3 looks great after a wash. Keep an eye on your boot floor around the subframe mounts, given that you're driving it hard! Keep it up!
Subframe is coming off over winter so I"ll be able to get those plates welded in!
Dan I’m very impressed with your driving, hope to get my S14a out on track next year
thanks, should be a S14a joining me for a few days next year !
Best e46 channel
Ur one hell of a driver mate !
Great driving mate!
Nice bit of driving that! And the m3s got some bollocks too!!
As a fellow E46 M3 owner it hurts my eyes to see you “rip” it apart, haha🙈 (I’m jealous about this beautiful color, though!) 😅 But on the other hand, cool what your doing. Using the car for what it’s made for. Good driving, pleasant to watch! Keep it up!💪👊
Thanks!
'EVERYTHING HOLDS ME UP IN M3' can defo be used as title of this one dan!! 👍
Haha, that Subaru got past me in the morning. No one told me Bunta was in town.
Awesome video man, You sure spent some time on the edit and it's a success. That's how an E46 should be handled at Cadwell !
thanks :)
Awesome, made me Chuckle. Thanks for the upload.
Nice vid as always.
Nice video Danny - remember that 500bhp Honda Stream that you “showcased” in one of your videos? It’s on eBay £13995
Well done, Dan👍
Quality vid pal, as someone who tracks an e46 compact I can completely relate when it comes to weight - Germans seem to do well when it comes to producing heavy cars......
Car looks dialed in around the 17 min mark of this vid! Looks like a really fun circuit as well. 👍
Great video mate!
Quality content mate!
4:12 Yorkshire man wins lottery whilst removing passenger seat from car! M3 looked solid all day, great driving.
Excellent video !!! Thanks
Good video dude. You got some good passes in. Nice job on getting in some simple weight loss. Keep up the good work. Till next time
awesome video again, nice to see you using the M3 like it should be used, nicely driven to, you swapped nicely from the FWD DC2 to the RWD M3, I suspect you time drifting the e36 helped, keep them coming pal.
drifting definitely helped. I'd recommend it to anyone. I've no doubt picked up some less than ideal habits, but the car felt great.
DannyDC2 I started in a pug 106 rallye, and currently have a mk2 escort, autotesting taught me the most, I use the same car for grip and drift.
Wholesome content. ✅
Nice video, good driving.
I know you wanted to keep the m3 a little more on the daily side but it's cool your squeezing a little more performance out of the car. That track is really narrow and the elevation changes make it look tricky but fun. Cool getting 2 videos close together the editing and different points of view make them really enjoyable to watch.
I wouldn't daily the M3, the Volvo does that job too well!
Class vid our mon 👌🏻
I've got the M54B30 in my touring, and when i first got it, it used to drink the recommended 0w30 oil. Eventually tracked it down to a clogged PFC valve and breather system. I also upped the grade to the highest possible at 5w40 that can be run..
Also having spoken to a BMW engineer (not a tech at a dealer), it turns out that babying the M54 made the oil consumption increase, this was down to the oil rings getting clogged up and not doing their job. Best way to sort that is once the engine is warmed to temp is to thrash on it, hard. I can confirm that post a track day, last one being the Sunday service at Silverstone, that the oil consumption has stopped completely, though give it a few months it will come back eventually.
0w30 was just to help with the emissions wasn't it? My 330i was a really good example, but I couldn't take the fuel/oil consumption from it on a 60 mile commute. Shame really as I really liked the car, but so many times I'd be going to work and have to pay £22 for a litre of oil from a petrol station. That burns holes in a yorkshire heart that inline 6 sweet nothings cannot repair.
Absolutely love your videos man! I have to say, your m3 seems a lot more oversteery compared to mine despite our similar modifications, even on your dry tracks. Perhaps it’s because I’m running semi slick staggered setup as opposed to your ad08r square 255s
possibly, the square set up is very positive on turn in
Finally new video
Track day 👏 review 👏
Consistently great.
nice one for another video mate! i think when you mix talking and going around the tracks like this it makes for a better video, don't get me wrong i'll happily watch raw track footage but it's nicely edited this! I cannot wait till my 3.15 m3 lsd is rebuilt for my 328 e36... It'll be my first ever lsd! got every bearing bush plate etc for it so should work like new! so will i have to always rev match downshifting on the street so it doesn't lock?
That P11 was mint, they are such an underated car.
Thanks, was going well till I rubbed the armco at Hall bends, shit happens
First time viewer, the pedal cam made me think you had a license learner set-up haha. But, actually perfect placement considering the camera placement.
15:50 - Every UK driver when stuck behind someone slower than them
Always good when you find your old car at the nordschleife (the ring ) miss the little 182 RB
you still drive really really well
nice comparison at the end!
also, suggest panning the audios 100 left and 100 right next time for smth like this
cool yeah, I'll try that if i do it again!
nice video as always...dat 335i MR2 doe
Hey Danny,
Can you tell something more about square setup? I'm planning to fit 4x 265/35/18 on 9,5j et35 but I'm not sure if that fits on front axle without any fender/ wheel well modifications? I don't want it to scrape on every corner or broke my wheel wells on high compressions like Foxhole or sth. I know that rear axle needs around 1cm spacers on each side and front around 2-3 degrees of negative camber.
Second thing is balance- car is purely made for the Nordschleife so I want it to be as neutral and predictible as possible.
Last year I drove on staggered 235/265 on with stiffest HR anti roll bars setup on both axles and the was pretty much neutral with, let's say, 'safe understeer'. Do you concider that square setup can surprise me with big turn-in oversteer or loosening rear anti roll bar would be just enough to keep it 'safe'?
Cheers
Great vid as always bro, where did you mount GoPro in the bmw ::)
Watched few of your trackday videos. You need to change those tires. It will be much better of a car.
Btw. fine driving, keep it up :)
The tyres match the brakes and suspension though I think, the car is a lot of fun. It could be faster, but it's still nice in the road even with the seats out! I guess it'll slowly evolve...
Could watch these vids for days buddy! I never understand why people queue up behind an accident if you can get past on the grass/tarmac safely, fuck hanging around to get rear ended. Hopefully meet you at a track day next year :-)
Cheers Joe, Yeah I think most just freeze/don't actually know what to do, but as you say, fuck waiting around to get smashed up the chuff!
Awesome run Danny, which one is better to drive round there and which one is faster?
following from Brazil
Speaking of Cadwell on the big screen, they shot a lot of the driving shots for "Rush" there so you might've seen it more than you think.
Yo Danny nice to see you tracking it down my way, I put my bm e36 backwards into a ditch last week!... my own fault... angry...wet... open diff... lack of funds for good shit etc... sounds like an x!!! But we pulled out & was all good to go with a few extra scratches ;) your green 36 had a purple tag rack on it. Would you say it's a worthwhile investment? Coz my my saloon snatched on me like a pick pocket on a subway!!! If you're ever down this way & want your tracking checking out drop me a msg.
You know when it gets stripped things gonna start going down! Beast for tracking it too and all balls too lol legend
@6:08 - what a unique E46 with another set of pedals in the passenger footwell. - optical illusion
Which chassis do you like more for the track? And cost wise, which cost more to this point of your m3 ownership?
Hey man. Love your E46 M3 videos ! What tyres did you have on , sorry if I’ve missed it somewhere 👍🏽👍🏽
nice driving
Love the videos. Could you please tell me what weight springs you got with your BC racing coilovers ,cheers
8kg/mm front, 12kg/mm rear. It's soft on track
Good video
Do you think you could run a quicker time than you did in the teg if you went back to it now?
Have you pulled the spare, jack and the OEM tool kit? You can also run 1/4 tank of gas and bring "dump cans" with you and fill up between sessions, that will easily save you over 100lbs!
Interesting to see that your m3 is faster than the integra in the last clip. Does it have a better power/weight ratio?
ddc2 and josh vs guy martin.. would be a sick race.;)
Yes dan!!!!!
So dan does your m3 have subframe reinforcement?
