306's a climbing quick but good usable ones are still 2.5-3.5k. Solid investment if you ask me

I`m impressed how fast Matt`s pug is going. I though his car will be slow by carrying his massive balls.
The MG goes surprisingly well around the corners having a V6 in front, way better than I expected.
They're a bloody hoot. (I've) Had one as a daily for 5 years, they're rapid on a b road.
I agree with you there they stick like shit too a blanket lol. But there very much a drivers car that's for shore. Still got mine it's been retired from my daily now though.

The coordination shown in this vid is just wonderful, the pedal cam allows us to see them socks and that jumper together at once, textbook.
Zeds are best budget track toys u can get .
Just add a torsen/lsd,light mods and done..Frence philosophy is for hillclimbs where loose rear end is preferred than typical honda's undesteer,they are different cars multi link vs rear beam
Great point, although i would like to exclude renault rs from "loosing the rear"(still more than other non french cars) as they seem to go for more mainstream performance than peugeot/citroen

Tiff Needell did once say the ZS had the best handling he had experienced in a FWD car with the ZS. That Honda platform and MG chassis engineers made a great handling car

I get the hype now. They are sooo much fun to drive. Perfect for back roads.

The media used to pan the MG for fundamentally being an old design, but when a design is right, why do you need a new one! As the saying goes, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Ok Rover we’re broke so that doesn’t work!
Makes me miss the sound of the v6 in my old zs, sounded great with full exhaust and intake.

That MG is amazing how it corners, especially considering its a slightly bigger/heavier car than the 306 AND has a heavy v6 lump up front.
Both impressive cars and some impressive driving.

Rovers got the top end but the 306 carries far more speed through the twisties.
The chassis is capable of more. There's a video of an otherwise stock chassis ZS with an Audi 20v in it and it's doing a good job of shadowing a track focused Lotus!
Zs is driving with passenger, so no direct comparison

Maybe its setup wise. But the 306 just seems more twitchy than the ZS. The ZS for sure pushes into understeer a lot more tho.

That honda chassis... plus lift off overstear is what french hatches are all about

To be fair only the back end is still pretty much Honda albeit with completely different springs and damping rates and rear ARB thicknesses.

If gearboxes are cheap i'd recommend bodging a chinese lsd into it. I payed just over £10 for one for a civic but ground it down to fit in my lupo. It still torque steers but it'll spin both tyres when doing burnouts :D

I'm totally intending on swapping an Audi motor into my mk2 Clio 1.6!
Ideally the best setup would be a well tuned 1.8 k series turbo with a qaife gearbox and lsd
