(The free version of the pattern is not downloadable.) There is also a PDF downloadable version that is available for purchase in my shop. I was all set to purchase the yarn for this project. Then I saw the shipping charge......$14.95!!

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  4 года назад +1

      Hi! Yes, the shipping costs from Ice Yarns are higher than what we're used to, because they are shipping express from another country. However, their yarns still come out as cheap or cheaper than similar yarns that can be purchased in US craft stores, even when the shipping is factored in. For more info on how the price compares to other similar yarns, see this video: ruclips.net/video/AkdnFAXwhTI/видео.html I hope this helps!

  • @greenisthecolour
    @greenisthecolour 4 года назад +2

    Such a beautiful pattern - thank you so much for this! May I just ask, is the yarn for the tassels included in your yardage estimation for the afghan? I am just a few yards over 9 skeins for the yarn I'd like to use by my calculations, and was wondering if I could get away with not using a tenth skein just in case I don't put tassels on the blanket. Thank you :-)

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  4 года назад +5

      Hi! Yes, the tassels are included in the yarn requirements. It is generally recommended for designers to overestimate the amount of yarn needed by 10%-12%, so there is a bit of extra yarn built into the amount needed just in case. If you are only a few yards short of the required amount, you will likely still have enough yarn for the tassels, and maybe still have a bit left. I hope this helps!

    Hello, I think you are fantastic at explaining how to do this blanket! It's the prettiest blanket I've ever seen! I'm going to make it for an elderly person who would love it in 3 colors. Soft pale green, medium pink, and white. How can I incorporate the colors into your beautiful blanket? Where would you put the colors in? Please could you let me know soon before I order the yarn? Your probably very busy so I am very appreciative of any comment you can make. Thank you!

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  3 года назад

      Hi Peggy. Yes, you could use different colors if you like. I think it would be best to switch colors after Row 5 and Row 9. That would make even stripes, with the puff stitch sections evenly spaced in the middle of each stripe. I hope this helps!

    ETA: NVM! I figured out the answer, it's no! (original question:Hi! This is really lovely and I'm trying it now. In the first row you said that the three chains were not counted in the 154# double crochet foundation row, but did you 'stack' a double crochet on top of those chains in row 2?)

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  Год назад +1

      Hi Lucy. If you wanted to make this pattern in DK weight yarn, you could try it if you like. The finished blanket would turn out a different size, so you would probably want to adjust the size according to the pattern instructions. I hope this helps!

    Hi, I like that. Do you think this project could work with a multicolor/shade yarn?

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  4 года назад +3

      Hi! With the textured design, I think a high-contrast variegated yarn might be a little busy. However, a tonal yarn, with only slight variations of the same color, might work well. If you have a multicolored yarn you'd like to use, I would suggest crocheting the gauge swatch in the pattern instructions with the multicolored yarn, so you can see how it would look in your yarn and see if you like it. Or, if you'd like to use multiple solid colors, this blanket might look neat in wide stripes. I hope this helps!

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  2 года назад

      Hi Tammy. As long as your stitch count on the first row is correct according to the stitch multiple in the written instructions for adjusting the blanket size, the written row instructions will still work correctly for a smaller blanket. I hope this helps!
