So what did we learn!
The mesh has made a heart inside the engine room and appears to have actually become the ship at this point.
The mesh can either warp reality or is able to restructure the ship, by the way it made the emergency exit disappear.
We kinda already knew the mesh could absorb people, but now we have direct proof. This also is what attacked Oscar *in* the elevator, before he was attacked *by* the elevator.
We know the mesh can move when it spreads, but now we see it can control exactly where it goes and when. It seems the mesh retreats or repositions when it spots an intruder and sics an aggressor onto them (which I will call Ghosts).
The iron mines at Devil's Tower were cloaed before Oscar's death and they have a lot of people in quarantine, likely for mesh exposure.
Yea and i made a theory were of the mesh Is at a critical state and needs food It can use the salt from the Sea water to keep It victim fresh for longer time
The closure of the coal mines makes so much more sense to how the mesh works because coal is not only needed to make the engines of the ship move but also in the production of steel along with iron...
The literal walls of these ships were most likely made of mesh spores, which gives us an idea of how it controls these ships and spreads.

For a brief moment at 7:10-7:11, a News headline from “The Sun” can be seen, talking about an incident where over 400 club goers dead in a fire, and over 4000 presumed dead from the Olympic. This tape takes place in 1988 however, when the newspaper is dated 1998, along with the brief amount of footage shown. This Newspaper is the same as the one Jack posted on his community a few weeks ago.
Date on the footage is February 14th 1998, Valentines Day. The Sun headline is from the day after on the 15th

@@elijahscurry2798 Thanks for the feedback! I guess we will just have to keep watching to find out, but I do believe it’s the Stardust fire because I tried finding other nightclub fires that may have happened on Feb 14th and it keeps coming back to the Stardust.
Maybe when someone dies, there body is melted down and becomes mesh, what if all the mesh on the Mauritania IS the missing passengers and crew, what is they become part of the mesh and work as muscle to move the parts of the ship, the mesh is definitely going to make the ships alive. I WANT MORE / good job Jack, great series
The mesh was said to smell like rotten meat so it checks.
It's being hinted that the MESH is an organism that could eat and assimilate it's victim to become parts of their body.
Imagine "The Thing" but on an ocean liner and it's victim is in the thousands.
And that's why the Mauretania would have so much....

WE NEED MORE ANALOG HORROR LIKE THIS. No white VCR OSD mono text on a black background with spooky music and goofy stick figures, no mock EAS alerts, nothing like that. This feels like something that would actually be put on a VHS tape. The instructional videos and other similar tapes actually look and feel like instructional videos, with real human voiceovers that such things would actually use instead of cheap, unscary TTS voices or dead silence everybody else goes for, and that's not even mentioning the stunning 3d work and well-paced found footage segments. On the topic of found footage, and forgive me if I'm reaching here, was the inclusion of a "Marvin" in this video meant as an homage to Kane Pixels' "The Complex" series? I think it's pretty clear that PB takes a lot of inspiration from it, especially in the inclusion of found footage, so if it is indeed a reference, it's nice to see.

In addition, the next two pictures were the Olympic and a familiar corridor (I think we saw this one from the intro video). So this probably meant that the document flashed on 2:54 were connected to the SS Olympic.

So the mesh has formed a colony so large that it has gone from a bunch of mesh to its own organism using the Olympic as a shell like a hermit crab almost. Either that or the mesh has assimilated with the ship itself and now the ship is alive. That guy that was killed a while back has definitely been assimilated too, and there's a brief glimpse of him, or what's left of him, attacking the POV character. Really weird that the emergency door disappeared. This stuff is reality bending.
Or maybe the thing can reshape the ship? If we really think about it has probably already merged with it as you said.

You love to see it (as a horror enthusiast). Especially because it reminds me of the Many from System Shock 2, which is one of my favorite games, and the former - one of my favorite video game antagonists. Like, the similarities are almost uncanny tbh lol -- from it "singing to us" down to being able to create its own "antibodies" to protect itself from "intruders", and relatively quick pace of evolution of the thing.
All we lack are only the actual quotes of the Mesh about the joys of being a part of its biomass.
@@El.fish.the.chocolate That's probably why the mesh dosen't allow changes to be made to the ship, and all the ships affected stayed in the exact same condition as they were when initially infected with the mesh. That's why the Set 2 ships, like Titanic and Aquitania, appear in their refitted condition, as they gained the mesh after several refits.
This actually makes sense.
Here is a metaphor.
Remember when the olympic has a heart in the engine room?
Imagine it like this our human bodies are the ships, Our skeleton is the skeleton of the ship, then our skin is the body plating of the ship. The heart in the engine room is like our heart in our bodies.
From ocean liner designs the engines of the olympic class are like the beating hearts of the olympic class.

Something that I didn’t even think of - in this universe white star didn’t loose titanic. Instead, the Cunard line lost Lusitania. Could this mean white star line was the dominant company in the merger, and MV Oceanic III was built?
Is Oceanic in Long Beach unnafected? Or did she enter service while Olympic and Titanic were still in service and catch it?
@@robloxdude7564Depends there has been a lot of debate of when ships were converted from coal to fuel oil. Because the theory is now the the Mesh is not present in oil, but coal.

@@CenturionTankMk.5AVRE Lusitania is in there, but that's one of the frames we've seen already. It's a slew of frames we've seen before, with one or two we haven't. The most common opinion held on the Discord currently seems to be that the brand new shots are 1) a satellite view of the North Atlantic, and 2) a shot of Olympic mid-explosion
Upon further review, it appears to be four images in total. The first is, I think, Britannic exploding, and the rest are Lusitania going down, Mauritania when it was found abandoned, and the devils tower formation.
@@ryansprong5603 There are six frames that flash on screen in that part of the video. In order, they are:
1) A ship exploding-the Discord currently thinks it's Olympic since Britannic never had smoke near her third funnel without there being some kind of fireball in the picture (and also given the explosions alluded to in the next scene)
2) Lusitania sinking, as shown in Origins
3) Mauretania mid-disappearance, again as seen in Origins (note the growths rising out of the third and fourth funnels)
4) The silhouette of Devil's Tower (very similar to a frame of it seen in Renovations)
5) A satellite view of the North Atlantic, with a considerable amount of cloud cover (note Florida and the rest of the Gulf Coast visible toward the left side of the frame)
6) Will McGowan's face (note the censor bar and the bloody nose)
What's interesting is that this fellow with the camera obviously survives the 'attacks' by the mesh. One after the other, he ends up right in the bowels of the engine room, right next to the very heart of this 'Thing'. And, his footage also survived, hinting at the possibility that he got out of even there. It must be asked: why were his two comrades obliterated by the mesh, but he was able to survive?
Also, Stainthorpe mentioned that his mother 'ran things' prior to he, indicating that this 'operation' has been going on for quite some time indeed.
Genius! 👏🏻 The beginning, where the camera is making its way through the dining room, etc., is almost Shining-like.

They must have got lots of miners in containment, then.

And the Mesh can change things!
And it absorbed two people!
It is a masterpiece!
Some thoughts:
1.) it might not be significant, but can I just point out how the cameraman in this video seems to be named after the psychic protagonist from “Final Destination”? Look in the description to see what I mean.
2.) I think we just got a glimpse at Max.
3.) I said it before and I’ll say it again: I love how the first person footage is shot. It is obviously CGI, but the textures and camera movements make it look real. It feels like you are actually aboard this historic liner in the (sorta) modern day, and I am digging it.
4.) the final shot in the engine room was cool. It reminds me of the final still photo from “The Mauritania Archives” when we get a glimpse of Max for the first time. The mesh was all around a corridor and huge, indistinguishable growth was hanging from the ceiling, overlayed with what sounded like humming and heartbeats. I later figured that growth was a heart materialized from the mesh, and this video seems to back up the idea that it could have been.
5.) I would be interested in seeing a video addressing Dr. Stainthrope’s reaction to his son’s death. Does he truly care about Oscar? Is he heartbroken by the young man’s death? Is he guilty about not spending more time with Oscar outside of work, or is he so focused on work that he is (somewhat) numb to the matter? How does he deal with it, and how could it affect Project Britannica? Also, now that I’m talking about it, did Oscar know about what’s going on with the ships?

So it turns out the the Mesh is the Many from System Shock 2.
I'm more than welcome for this series to take that direction. If anything, the way that game explored the concept of "highly intelligent alien biomass" deserved to be more influential than it ended up being imo.

Given this is Olympic, the ship with a safety rating of 95, deemed safe enough to turn into a floating hotel, I don't think we want to know how bad Mauretania and the Set 2 ships are.
There's also a flash of a newspaper, which the only thing I could make out in the split second it was on the screen was 'Massacre'.
I don't think the Olympic's safety rating is going to hold up much longer.
Mauretania's practically all mesh, prometheus much the same. Empress of Britain and Waratah are basically a mix between Mauretania and Olympic. Titanic is sligtly better than olympic, as she caught it in the 30s. Aquitania is olympic, but just.. worse

Wait, if Alex was the cameraman and died in the engine room, how did we get this footage if the camara was left there? My theory is that Alex did manage to escape and got infected by the mesh and died after taking the camera out of the ship, maybe he jumped out of a window, i dont know. Since it doesn't tell us the exact date he died, he might have died out of the ship. Maybe it was a live recording camera with the recording saved at the project britanica office, which would make more sense...

The Olympic is alive
I love how one person can now produce the exact same shots as the movie titanic did, which was one of the highest grossing movies of all time. It’s really cool to see the capabilities we have at our fingerprints. Some people take advantage of that in a bad way and others produce beautiful stuff like this.

This episode is EPIC I GOT JUMPSCARED SO MUCH!!! I noticed that when the mesh attacked the guy the first time 2 images very quickly show up, these beeing of the Lusitania sinking and the Meshed Marutania. This also happened a sedond time. The end suprised me though, THE OLIMPIC HAS A HEART!?!??! (Or, rather its the mesh's heart lol) to be honest if you removed the veins it sort of looks like a turnip haha 😂

My theory is that the mesh was growing much faster on britannic then titanic or olympic, causing white star line too explode the Britannic.

I have built up a new theory, the mesh is a kind of plant or spore that is found in the devil's tower. The mines in the devil's tower, contain these spores then use the coal to infect the ships. It's like "let's have an tons of spores to operate the engines, so we don't have another work force" that's my theory for now...
