The opinions expressed in this video were not influenced by or paid for by any outside individual or company. I use and test lots of products that are sent to me or that I buy myself. In the end, I only talk about the products that I find interesting.
Tom this is absolutely incredible, who would think you could have such convenience in such a tiny package! Thanks for the review :)
wow, i love this mic. 300ft away and the audio is rally crisp. thanks for sharing again sir.
Can’t wait to receive mine today. Will be great for interviews and weddings 🙏🏻🙌🏻
How are you finding the mic quality so far. What is the supplied lav like as well.
Great review and THANK YOU for your calm, clear, detailed presentation. I'm having to unsub from many tech channels because they're all clickbait and there's no actual tech detail. Your review was the opposite!
This is an exciting little product!
Very nice to see H & W couple doing a video. Bless you all.
Welcome back Mr. Awesome
I'll have to check these out, I love my Hollyland MARS 300 wireless HDMI kit.
Nice review! We just did a side-by-side comparison to the Rode Go on our channel and I preferred the Lark 150 over the Rode. Loving these disruptor companies!
Fab test as always!
Thanks for the review, very telling. Based on what you and your wife showed this should be my next purchase.
Exactly what I was looking for 😁
I like the knob design. I like this one more than the other ones.
good review mr.Tom
Wow .. that case is reeeeeally cool
I love that case.
Nice.... Presentation... Product also impressive
Thanks Tom. Please do a full review of all of these little wireless mics. I'd love to see this and all copies of the Rode Wireless go in a roundup comparison. Cheers.
I'm looking at the blink500 pro. I definitely like the rechargable options.
Awesome Device
It looks like they took all the good features of the other brands and made their own better. In my cart. Thanks Tom, I was just hunting for something better. ✌🏼
Tom, I'd like to see him edit the audio afterwards, as an example of a dialogue acting
, to make it sound cinematic instead of using a boom (if possible) Thank you my friend!
Hi. Thank you for reviewing this product. Does it also work with a sound column, for example, to give presentations in a class? Thanks
Helpful test Tom, I use mics in american football games and I would like to know if these transmitters works well when you talk giving your back to the receiver. Thanks
WOW, sounds great even at 300 ft !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you try with the included lav mics too and if so, what do they sound like? I'm running the older RØDE filmmaker kit, and this system looks like it's two TXes and the RX in the space of one RØDE filmmaker kit. If the included lavs are any good, it's a no-brainer for the price!
Hi Tom, what an amazing set up, do you think that the wireless microphone system could be used with a GoPro camera to do motorcycle v logging , obviously the mic would require mounting either inside the helmet or another location to avoid the wind noise, wind noise is a killer for gopros and mics and I have spent hours trialling mic set ups with dead cats ans all manner of devices but to no avail, your input would be great.y received, stay safe, Derek
Yes this mic system or the Rode Wireless GO would work perfectly with a gopro for inside motorcycle helmet. I would use the supplied lav mic since its smaller and you can easily fit it inside the helmet. The transmitter you can hide in your jacket. The receiver you can plug into the new gopros only if you get their USB to mic adapter since gopro cameras dont have a mic plug built in.
So you left Ontario :)
Did I miss the batter time on the transmitter and receiver?
why do some hollyland mics say “-7db” once you raise it up or down on the volume. but mine doesn’t do that it just gives me numbers not the “db” is there something i need to do ?
Did it cut off while walking away? I know this was an issue with the rode go and I want to switch my system to a more reliable one and this one seems to be it.
Close to 300 feet I believe so
If the transmitters don't have an open line of sight to the receiver then the signal cuts off much quicker. Behind a tree it was cutting out at less then 100ft. When going through my body while I was facing away from the camera it would cut out at around 150ft. Similar to the Rode Wireless GO in my tests of that system.
Good job, but you didn't try the lavalier mics.
I saw somewhere else that they are even better if you use quality mics and not the ones supplied.
Hi Tom, or anyone reading this.
I’ve had transmissions issues with the Rode Go when the talent is lav’d and transmitter is in the pocket. Do these have a stronger signal when transmitting through a person?
Thanks!
Interested in this as well
I do beta testing for hollyland (so biased i guess). In my testing i would say the lark 150 is about 20% to 30% better in range and objects in between. Its still the same concept but what is nice it comes with lav mics so you can place them on the side making line of sight easier. Also it comes with 2 of them so in concept you can put one in front pocket and one in back pocket and run 2 lavs on one person so have a safety track for these cases if you get a dropout.
Cannot get this system to work with a smart phone with a TRS to TRRS cable. Contacted Hollyland they said you have to use their cable which they currently do not have. I wonder what is so proprietary about their cable? TRS to TRRS cables are pretty basic cable‘s.
I wouldn't be surprised if it has nothing to do with the actual cable but more with the firmware to detect the TRRS configuration. Unfortunately there's not one uniform standard for TRRS. Search for CTIA/OMPT if you want to see the differences. you could try another pinout
@@WouterWeggelaar thanks brother!
did you find a cable that works? I saw one review that mentioned he got it to work with a cable that came with a Joby mic if that's of any help
@@TommyGKendrick no I have not unfortunately.. and thanks for the tip, much appreciated.
Can it work with canon g7x mark ii ?
No TRRS to TRS cable for connecting to phone?
No not in the box.... you have to add your own (for now, something might be coming). Also keep in mind TRRS is mono only so one of the issues is you can't yse left/right mode unless you come add a usb like audio interface. (i am a beta tester for hollyland so consider me biased).
One con about the charging case is that once you lose it you have no other way to charge your devices but to buy the entire thing.
great when they charge! as in....I got 2 uses out of them and the box stopped charging the RX. I followed the steps on their support site, no luck! contacted their support team. absolutely terrible, sent me the same link I followed the steps on before. Now I'm out $300
I'm a little wary of built in batteries. I would feel better if I could swap out the battery.
True but in such a small size its hard to make long lasting swappable batteries.
After 10 months how do you like it? Any updates?
Honestly I've gone back to rode wireless go 2 and haven't used the Lark much. It still works same as when I first got it. I just don't use it much since I got the Rode Wireless GO 2 and love it
@@TomAntos thanks for sharing! I've seen the DJI mic coming out in Jan/Feb and just found the Lark almost looking identical and wanted to see what your experience was. Any particular reason you don't use the Lark over the R2?
@@mmmmmray main reason is the internal recording on the rode
@@mmmmmray thanks for YOUR heads up on the DJI mic, im now going to purchase it based on reviews ive seen. i had no idea dji were coming out with a mic until i saw you mention it here.
@@marctronixx it's my pleasure Marc! I also have one pre-ordered so we can share our experiences together 👊
I look pretty good 😆
what happened to the screen on the receiver?
My guess the protection layer or cameraoled interaction the screen is very nice (unless its broken i guess). Been using (as a beta tester for hollyland) 150 for 2 months now..
It doesn't look nice on camera because of the led frequency. Looks normal look at it with your eyes
This or DJI MIC?
Don’t like if company keeps changing item prices. Got wireless video transmission system which drops signal off. And price after one week was changed £100 less. Will recommend Rode more trustable. Sorry
You walked 300 feet away and nobody stole your camera? Did you shoot a video in the Sahara? ;)))
In a park on Miami. Pretty safe here
Hey Tom. I thought you were going to say.... my 300 pound bodyguard was standing next to my camera. Ha..
;)))
@@gregwilsonnaturephotography 😆 i wish i could afford one
