- Hollyland dropped a fresh take on the compact wireless lav system, greatly streamlining the setup, while keeping a competitive price. But how does it actually work, and how does it stack up? Let's find out!

Note, this video was made over a year ago (before DJI copied their clever charging case design), and wasn’t released for…reasons. But this remains to this day my favourite wireless mic kit. Those knobs for the ease of use make it impossible for me to quit using them.
I really Wish all these wireless systems would record internally on the transmitters as well as broadcast to the receiver. Can’t take the chance during weddings with drop out.
Right now we record with a pocket recorder and a lav mic plugged into that for the ceremony. When it comes to the reception toasts we use a small sock and attach the pocket recorder to the DJs mic.
Far too often wireless mics drop out in these situations.
The new rode and DJI ones do now, though this came out just before those were announced, which kinda left them with their pants down…you generally pay extra for that privilege tho.
So it records?
Please test the tecnicle track-E next
If doesn’t record, no
I have had this Hollyland Lark 150 for over a year now and NO compaints. While it might not have managed over 10m in your test, I have seen this reviewed on other channels where with direct line of sight 20+ meters was not a problem. I don't have experience with other wireless but for me with the great case and other features plus so simple to use it would be hard to not like it.
My only complaint (my use case, recording myself or interviews) is that the case should have a separate compartment for the lav microphones and the cables.
Oh I still use this all the time. The vast majority of the time I don’t need more distance than that anyway. If I do i use something else.
Multi-channel recording should be standard in-camera technology. Not just right/left, but like eight stereo channels kept seperate all the way to the editing timeline. I'm also interested in what Sony is doing with its digital hot-shoe mics to reduce clipping and eliminate wires. Audio is the most under-developed aspect of pro-sumer cameras now.
The new Sony hot shoes can do 4 digital channels in, I believe. Very little support for this with accessories, though.
