Voice isolation and dialog enhancer are a 1-2 punch of audio awesomeness. With two clicks in Studio I've had cleaner audio than back when I would spend hours in Audition filtering and cleaning it up. Anybody debating if it's worth paying for Studio over the free version, IT IS!! The auto subtitle generation is fantastic too. Fast and VERY accurate. The only issue I've run into so far is when using relight I hit an error about not enough GPU memory being available and it crashed. To be fair, it was on an nVidia studio card on a laptop, so it only has 4GB of video memory to begin with. Probably would run betting on my desktop with 12GB of VRAM. BMD has absolutely nailed the latest release. Can't wait to see what they do next!
Excellent video! Straight to the point and succinct. I enjoyed watching this video, your camera presence and delivery makes your content easy to watch. Please continue sharing your experience and knowledge. Thank you Mr. Antos!
3 months ago when i started learning video editing i used premier for a weak & it crashed 2 times a day then switched to Davinci & that was one of the best days of my life till now. I tried after effects too but everything is way more faster & smooth in Davinci. I can do all the motion graphics in Davinci using the right tools.
Amazingly useful content Tom, please do more! Sometimes these features aren't quite intuitive enough for me to easily pick up how you use them, and seeing you do it really helps a ton.
Davinci Resolve is a God send for everyone... It's really starting to kick Adobe's backside too now! I think most people given it's free, if they get a career or money from using it, would thank the devs by paying them for Studio version. I just use it to stick clips together and personal silliness for now, but it's such an amazing piece of software. Adobe needs constant net connections, has crashes, bugs, and costs 90% more than it's worth for what the average user does on it. DR is really great for students to understand the process of Video editing. It's like the Blender of the 3d world and the team behind it are really very intelligent folk.
Hey Tom - great video! Actually, I swiped my finger on my iPhone by mistake while watching and… the video got minimised like picture in picture type of thing. Doesn’t happen with any of the other RUclips videos I tried - is it some soft of a selection you made as a creator, a setting or something? And yeah… I am now considering buying the Studio version to level up my YT channel.
Great video. Really helpful. After using DaVinci Resolve free edition for two years, I took advantage of the current price reduction and bought the full Studio version a couple of days ago. Really glad I did. Already it’s speeded up my editing of a quite long video. Now subscribed 👍🏼😁

Hi Tom. Greetings from Italy. I have been following you for a long time and admire the simplicity with which you explain things. I have material shot a long time ago in Betacam and MiniDV and I need to put it into a DaVinci timeline in FullHD. Any advice? THX!
Thanks for your continued support! You need to first transfer the footage from the tapes into digital file format. There are several companies that do transfers like that or you can also buy a video capture card online and the beta betacam plus miniDV players and then transfer the footage yourself
What an impressive video! Thank you for sharing it with us. I'm curious, does this software include an AI feature where you can select clips from your file folder and it automatically edits the video, creating a story (broll) with music seamlessly?
Wow. I had no idea most of this was even possible. For example, highlighting transcripts and dropping in those video clips will save so much time I can't believe it. thanks!
i was always thinking that i should switch to davinci from premiere, and i have started with buying a speed editor. and i was so impressed with speededitor , i know that it is right decision. thank you for good video explaining
You were such a huge inspiration to me in the past 7-8 years. Somehow I lost track of your channel and I'm glad to have found you again. Have learnt so much from you. Thanks for inspiring! ♥
I remember seeing your video from 2018 about switching to resolve, really happy with my decision to stick with Resolve, how much of a monster it has become.
I just found DaVinci a few months ago and the more i learn about it, the more i believe i will be willing to pay for the pro version even though I'm not going to be doing anything near what you do.
Insane, most of these i knew but the few I didn't really helped. Smart reframe? Genius for the modern platform where I have to export everything regularly in different aspect ratios. Thank you!
So where in the node tree exactly is a good place to put these? My node trees are typically about half a dozen or so, with a handful of parallel nodes. Can you just stick these at the end somewhere?
Although I was aware of many of these, a couple of them were new to me or at least enhanced my understanding of what they can do. I can especially see Face recognition is a really incredible organizational tool in event videography, documentary/b-roll and narrative work. Thanks Tom.
Amazing! Thank you Tom for your insight! It helps a lot! Please continue your great work!!! These features are great explained and I am looking forward to hear more about these AI features from you! Thx and greetz from Hungary!
Happy that I was able to help inform you even about this one feature. I am always learning something new in this and other programs I use for my work. Things are always being updated and new features added.
this video's crazyyyyyyyyyyy all these little things I either forget about how to do or never knew were a thing, aaaaaaaaaaaaah makes my studio license 1000x more useful
Excellent overview, concise and practical. Thank you, however, my experience with the magic mask has been a bit of a letdown I find whenever it’s trying to map forward through separating or conjoining objects, say if two people are holding hands that separate their hands… it really doesn’t pick up on that breakage point easily and I find a lot of it unuseable… thoughts?
sometimes there will be situations where the AI still doesn't know exactly what to do as the scene changes. In that case I divide the shot up and do the magic mask on different parts of the shot. So I would do one section where they are holding hands and then do another section where the hands are separate.
Hai there…really Great video. Which computer or laptop would you recommend for using as an beginner, so that davinci resolve Studio works fluidly? Right now I use an older iMac and it’s an nightmare …regards
You can use it in fusion page also and do a lot more with it there. But it's also in color page in case you want to apply a color grade to only a specific part of the shot
Nice one 👍🏽 thanks . Like the last bit about the audio. Do you have any idea if there is a Mac app to organise video based on audio track. I have a lot of dance practice video I like to organise that have the same audio track
Awesome tutorial. I’m just wondering, with the audio improvement using ‘Voice Isolarion’ is there an option to remove background sounds such as music or something?
Great video, as I have recently upgraded from free version to Studio, this gives a nice introduction into the many things I can now use but dont know about yet.
This is a fantastic video, im new to this but learning fast, yes please more videos.i have a grandson who is 6 years old and he loves this app. he follows along to the videos thank you for the video, and will be looking at the raw video site as i only have an iphone to film on so cant really lerarn to colour grade that much new sub you have oh how i wish i had the studio version, you teach at a very good pace for people like myself that are newish to resolve/ video editing, i used to use imovie
Great tutorial! Btw, what are the specs of your computer? I love these effects but a lot of them are really demanding on the GPU and CPU. Can you recommend some specs? I am thinking of buying a "decent" PC for post production
Just right click on any clip and select AUDIO TRANSCRIPTION ---> TRANSCRIBE. If you have not yet transcribed that clip then it will do it for you. If you already did it before it will open the transcription windows with the text you can select.
New Davinci Resolve Tutorial ---> ruclips.net/video/p0lTJ156V5U/видео.html
And PLEASE keep this series of Da Vinci features going. Super useful!
Thanks. I will share how I do all of the effects in my shark film. Most of them are done in Davinci Resolve
Probably the most useful Davinci video I’ve found in the past few months. Thank you.
Great to hear!
Hi Tom. It's really cool to see you doing Davinci Resolve tutorials again.
Thank you! More to come as I show how I do all the effects in my shark film
Thanks
Awesome thanks for the tip!
Thank you Tom! Please follow-up with more tutorials ....this is awesome content!
Thanks, will do!

Yes those are great tools. BMD has really created the ultimate tool with video, audio and VFX tools in one program.

This is the best DaVinci resolve feature tutorial ever
Do these tips only work in the studio version or do they work in the free version - that information would be super useful. Thanks John
Most only in Studio version as the title says
Amazingly useful content Tom, please do more! Sometimes these features aren't quite intuitive enough for me to easily pick up how you use them, and seeing you do it really helps a ton.

its so good to see the effects being shown in such a way that its direct to the point and then on to the next one.

loved the tips,, but just noticed its for Davinci Studio, and NOT the free version. Confused why 'Smart Reframe' wasn't appearing for me.
Incredibly helpful, thank you! I've saved this video to my Davinci playlist, thank you.
You're very welcome!

I haven't looked into these tools in Resolve yet as I haven't had a project to edit for a while, but this is WILD. The masking is truly amazing.

amazing tom, love from India . yes we need a full tutorials about Ai tools in di vincy resolve
These Tools are part of the full version Studio, not included in the free version, right ? These tips are great !

It's mind blowing tutorial. I have to watch this over and over again. Thanks a lot!
the lighting tool is amazing, are there any other applications that take advantage of this type of AI? I don't see it on Topaz
Tom, you are the best among the best! Your videos are so clear and helpful. Big hug from Chile!

Really excellent overview of these new features!
Thank you!
Your video caught my interest on DaVinci Resolve. Thanks for keeping things simple.
As recently transitioning to davinci, this is mind blowing. Keep it coming and thank you for the very straight forward and easy guide for these tools!
So where in the node tree exactly is a good place to put these? My node trees are typically about half a dozen or so, with a handful of parallel nodes. Can you just stick these at the end somewhere?

Glad it was helpful!

Amazing Tom 😮 Thank you for this 🎥🎬⛩
Could you please show how Depth Map and Magic Mask can be used in Fusion? Why is it in the color page? I would have expected it as a fusion node.

Fantastic, thank you. And yes pls share more.

Thank you very much!
Love the DaVinci Resolve content Tom 👍 I hope these tools may be ported to the iPad version too
It would be nice but maybe impossible because ipad doesn't have the same processing power as most computers
Great tutorial! Btw, what are the specs of your computer? I love these effects but a lot of them are really demanding on the GPU and CPU. Can you recommend some specs? I am thinking of buying a "decent" PC for post production
This whole video was done using my Mac Book Air M2 13 inch. So not very high specs. If you get a more powerful computer then it should be even faster.
Thank you so much. This will help me with all my editing.
Glad to hear it!
Thank you Tom! This is a great video!
Hi Tom, could tell us how to open the transcription window again? Where can it be done? Thanks
Just right click on any clip and select AUDIO TRANSCRIPTION ---> TRANSCRIBE. If you have not yet transcribed that clip then it will do it for you. If you already did it before it will open the transcription windows with the text you can select.
thanks a lot @@TomMakesThings
I am more of a still photographer so the masking is close to the one in Camera Raw. Thinking of upgrading to Studio version.
This is a REALLY good tutorial. Thank you!
Hey man, great !!!!!!!!! Thanks very much. YES, do more of these videos. !!!!!!!
Thanks! Will do!
More of these! Very helpful.
You got it!
Thanks Tom to gave us lot of information aout da vincy
great stuff, thank you. I might have to switch to Resolve from Premiere sooner than later. :)
Go for it!
