- I spent just over 6 months working towards my private pilots license. I kept it a secret from most everyone. Especially this guy. I did a pre flight check on the plane before going to pick up my friend in order create the illusion that I had never flown before once I got in and started it up. The owner of the airport played along too. I wish I got it on video, but he told zach and I that he needed to make a phone call and that I could start the plane up the way he showed me how “one” other time. We get in the plane. I turn on the cameras, which I said were for insurance purposes in case of a malfunction. And proceed with my little prank. One we will never forget. Enjoy! More flight content to come.

Thanks for all the great feedback and positive comments, everyone! For those wondering how a buddy wouldn't know that his friend is a pilot is purely due to the fact that I never told him or anyone else in my circle of friends that I was going out and taking lessons. It was very hard not to crack and tell anyone what I was doing. 3 big factors played into my motivation to get my license: 1. lifetime goal, 2. take my family on trips, 3. and this right here. The one time chance I could pull something like this off! His reaction and faith in our friendship made this all worth it. Even if I never fly again, this was worth the 6 months training. And no amount of money could ever buy this must trust or faith in another person to have their life in another's hands. *Disclaimer* I was fully prepared to abort the takeoff and/or safely shut everything down the moment he were to get uncomfortable or needed to get out of the plane. For the safety of ourselves, others in the area, and the aircraft, I would have never pushed the prank that far if it were to come that.

I don’t think this is the best advice to give. Don’t get me wrong in other circumstances it’s good to see. But in an aircraft where someone’s unexperienced can cause harm or death, I feel it’s best to protect yourself.

It is a scam, planes don't have that many buttons and switches. They only have this stick with like 6 or 7 small buttons, the up down left right button, and this long cable. You can even pause it if you want to take a piss or order pizza.

Hands down the best moment of the video, idc what you say. This is like the most wholesome moment between friends. He is just SO proud of his best friend its beautiful. This video always makes me cry because you gave him so many emotions during this flight but revealing that you have been training for half a year to fly a plane... just to take him in the air is so wholesome. My best friend is a pilot also but I have yet to go in the air with him, I know it will be just as cool as watching this video.

Cool. NIce landing by the way after the touch and go. Me and all my 3 friends all got our pilot licenses in high school back in the mid 70's outside of north Houston, the Woodlands, and we all flew 3 airplanes down to Matagorda Island and landed on a deserted air base, and the runway was still in good shape. Spent the day and flew back. It was awesome. But, being kids, we got in trouble. All loaded in the plane in Conroe, and we buzzed Farrah Fawcetts house on Lake Conroe, and Lee Majors was with her by the pool. He wasn't happy, and called the small airport we came out of. The tower guy was not impressed, and we all had our licenses suspended for a year and had to take a lot of air safety exams, and pay a pretty hefty fine. Then we had to apologize to Lee and Farrah. We went to their house and it ended up all good...they were very nice and gracious, and Lee said, "I was young and stupid once...but I gotta say, you did it in a grand fashion"...Then we all took pictures together. I have all those to this day.

they must not be very close friends. If you knew a friend well you'd know if he's the type of dude to impulsively fly a plane with no experience or if he's a smart sensible guy who would never do that. These two guys must not know each other very well

That is the most die hard friend I have ever seen. In a situation where he had no clue if you were an actual pilot, he had full trust and even told you that "we can do anything." Made me shed a tear. Thats unimaginable bro love right there. I think 99 percent of people would've shit their pants thinking they were about to die.
