C7768 was their 2008 Winter Namm Show Guitar. I think the 7672, 7675 were the only other guitars produced prior to your C7762 after the Fender acquisition. Great content. Love it!

Great details at the more advanced level. I watched a video from the "bald shredder" channel where he had leo jaymz do a custom run set of guitar with his logo on them. He sent them a jackson and they mirrored the neck specs, modified the body and weight. custom colors, and pickup configurations. What guitar would you model a neck profile after? Body type? Pickups? or do you have a custom build and 40 grit logo?

    • @40gritguitars
      @40gritguitars  20 дней назад

I’ve built my own so my custom specs exist on them. If I could only have 1 guitar? It would be my olive drab green Charvel build. Strat style, Warmoth maple boat neck. 1 11/16th nut. Floyd rose. Duncan RTM in bridge, dimarzio Air Norton in neck. Poplar or alder body. Thanks for watching!!

Awesome video. You’re right about the Floyd’s being too close. I had a 2008 so-cal that the low e and g saddles were bumping the whale tail so you only had about half of the fine tuner travel as the other 4 strings.

You’re right that is shoddy work in the tremolo cavity.

My observations as I’m watching this video:
    1. Is it a real Floyd Rose clamp? The offshore ones are frequently shorter and require a shim.
    2. The Schallers clearly weren’t a drop in fit and the guy had to ‘cheat’ the screw holes, instead of drilling new ones.
    3. I never knew that Pro Mod meant Production Model?!
I assumed it meant Modification or something. Lol
    4. I’m not a fan of the FU Tone titanium ‘upgrades’ just like you. In fact, I think they make your tone harsh and brittle?! Hard. Pass. And they ruin the classic look of this guitar.
    5. I’ve had to take a round rasp/file to many a guitar to make room for the Floyd bar assembly!! Mainly because I use the old school screw in arms, and the assembly has a larger diameter.
    6. I remove the Seymour Duncan logo off of ALL my SD pickups! The logo also ruins the classic look of a period correct guitar. I even did a video short on how to remove them!! Ha
    7. Relic’ing that pickup was a crime. 🤦‍♂️
Love the guitar. Any Charvel from this era without that horrid wheel truss Rod is a winner, in my book!
    🤘😎🤘

So the nut was an R2. This neck calls for an R3 so that will resolve itself. Good catch on the tuners… although I have dropped in Schaller on gotoh and vice versa. I’m gonna plug those and get them in straight. I agree on the classic look for the bridge. that was my reasoning for reverting back. Your rasp work would have been to the side of the trem cavity, I’m familiar with what you are saying. To accommodate to the top means your bridge placement is too far forward. Removing the logo has never been perfect for me personally. I believe they are stamped so you may remove the logo but there has always been a ghost logo there for me personally. Thanks for your comment! I appreciate your feedback!!

@@40gritguitars True enough about the Seymour Duncan leaving behind a ghost logo, if you look up close!! But if my choices are a logo, or the ghost logo, I’m taking the faint imprint every time. I love Seymour Duncan, but I can’t stand those gaudy logos. Jackson/ Charvel are just now catching on to installing no logo pickups in their ‘period replicas’. Seymour Duncan only charges $10 for a change order, such as no logo, but it takes 2 months to get a Shop Floor Custom. I just ordered a hot pink/black Custom for my Steve Vai pink Soloist replica. $10/color, $10 for no logo, $10 for black pole pieces. $127.99 is still a pretty good deal! Lol

It would be great to see a full setup of the FR on this guitar. This week I'm receiving shipment of a guitar from a dry climate. I live in a humid subtropical climate - interior temp of 72 with 45% humidity. Should I let it acclimate in any way from the journey?
