      @@40gritguitars nobody from trixter! Sebastian Bach and 2 other openers , some guy named josey scott ! Not sure who the other is! But Bobby Brown cherry pie is doing like an appearance there! The concert is called Rocktropolis ! What’s crazy is! This venue is here in my hometown , it’s just a 8,500 seater ! The last time ace played at this venue was with kiss in feb. 1977 and so 47 years has gone bye and here he is back 2024 !!! It’s mind blowing 🤘

      Get them while you can. A few dealers just received a batch of them from their orders from 2 years ago. I saw a few pop up for sale and they don't last too long for sale.

    I've got 2 modern Charvel San Dimas Pro Mod Style 1 HH FR MIJ, 1 is a FR, 1 is a HT.. I need to do this to the floyd rose, go thru it ... they kinda do a half ass job on em at the factory, they use real good wood tho 1/4 sawn necks all that, nice bodies... the pickup routes on the FR are like only 3/4" deep? zero adjustability?.. kinda silly .. deepen those maybe use rings? get an 84 in it, mod the 84 up with some ti stuff. .. then I want to overhaul the neck, install stainless extra jumbos.. I might compound the radius while I'm there? ..
    yea man those large flat diamond files where to get those? do they make em with a radius.. are the Z files diamond embedded for working stainless frets? that's all that's really stopping me is having the correct stainless tools, I have everything to install stainless frets, and a supposed crown file bout it, if I have to I will use a radius block with diamond paper I spose to level it up, find some stainless tools to dress and crown if need be.., I am going to attempt to get the fingerboard perfectly flat and use a set on my press so every fret presses in exactly the same so hopefully I wont need to level em up? I really like that factory finish when micro polished on those extree large jumbo stainless frets . .
    I'll glue em in and use a pinch technique on teh tangs... I'll add a hair of back bow to open up the under size cut slots, then when I level the neck up it will pinch the tangs uber hard, that and glue they should stay put and if all my calculations are correct I wont need to level em up, if I have a few high frets I will address each fret individually if its only a few high frets,I'll try to hammer em level first of course ..
    I recommend you use a thin sheet of brass in your cavity like charvel did in the day then paint the wood with shielding paint, then use like copper tape to do the cavity cover, really does help specially in places where there maybe a lot of interference, faraday cages WORK...
    I also have a really nice vintage charvel USA with a birdseye neck, floyd rose, black hardware is it? but the paint on the body is out of this world, back when they did amazing work with pride, crazy thing is no one has ever bothered to dial in the nut so I suspect it has very little play on it, its a minter but I want it in rotation,its a 90 with the almost tele like headstock, oh well its a very solid guitar that sounds phenomenal, just need to dial it in
    you did a great job, looks great, sounds great, I bet it feels and plays great too . . . when I get mine finished I'll try to remember to send a few pics of the work your way . .. peace

      Man, this is the longest comment I’ve ever gotten! If you’re doing a refret and you want to change radius… that would be the time. Those diamond files do not have a radius, that’s why I use no pressure. The z files are diamond files I believe. Stewmac sells them and there are different versions. Sounds like you have some cool Charvel stuff. Send me some pics and thank you for your comment!

    What strings ? and what size ? Just curious...

    • @40gritguitars
      @40gritguitars  3 месяца назад +2

      I went with .009-.040. I tuned to standard and it felt tight so I dropped it a half step and that dialed it in. Plays fantastic.

    No matter if it's a $100 temu Chibson, or a god-master custom built Custom Shop American Super Elite MKUltra Custom Select, ALL guitars will need a complete setup and eventual replacing of any parts. A basic, minimal setup should be the first thing you should do after you buy a guitar, and if you're a serious guitar player that's worth your weight in salt, IMO.

    • @40gritguitars
      @40gritguitars  3 месяца назад

      I agree. The issue is that not many know how to perform a good setup. Thank you for watching!!
