Lasting 238 miles is pretty decent for a GM product.
Lol...now that was a good one.
Even speaking about the gas cars that they steal money from people. Sorry sell. Same thing really
My 2007 GMC had 684,000 miles on it when I sold it and it is still being driven today!

A real body on frame truck
Would hope it would at least outlast the temporary paper tag.
I’ll be the 10,000th person to say this I’m sure. But these EVs (especially from gm) are making you tow truck folks some major money! You must love it.
I’m pretty sure it’s a GM EV thing. They seem to break down a lot

But honestly, who amongst us peasants didn’t expect this from a GM first year product 🤷♂️ especially an EV. GM cancelled their only EV the Bolt because they caught fire🔥 and this nice gentleman fell for their marketing scheme. GM is leading from behind and making Towing Great Again.
This is what happens when the technology isn't there and the government pushes for these EVs for profit
Just because these leftists are pushing them doesn't mean you have to comply. These things aren't gonna be mandated anytime soon, if ever.
But EV’s have been doing great in Europe for almost a decade..
American Automakers hasn’t caught up with European and Asian Automakers..
Technology is there...for Tesla. GM is too busy lying about what they can build and letting the useless president lie saying they are changing the world. Get a good EV from a smart company that starts with a T and you won't have issues. Or out of millions of vehicles, only a select few have some issues. Gas cars are much worse and going from electric to gas for a week while on vacation, shows me that can be any more true. So glad gas isn't in my life anymore. What a waste of money, time and stress. But gas people keep doing what your doing. I love seeing others waste money and then they complain gas prices are "out of control". Idiots...
Broh my 11 year old EV with 104K miles has had 0 repairs, 0 maintenance, and is doing just fine. The government isnt pushing it either. Market is being forced to because of Tesla.
It’s not the government who built this POS. There have been loads of very reliable EVs around for years, so it’s not rocket science.
Guy has a driveway in front of his house the size of a Walmart parking lot and can't move the cars out of the way?

Jesus guys got 500 thousand dollars worth of cars in that drive way lol

@GrimReaper4383 yes sir 👍
None of the vehicles were in the way? Plenty of room for me to do what I needed.
That heavy sigh you gave when you realized that you'd have to drag this one out of the garage said it all.
For me, reliability is number 1, and GMC vehicles have gotten less reliable.
I’ve owned 3 Fords to date, including my current car, and none of them have ever let me down through any fault of their own. Oh, and those are the only 3 cars I’ve had under my name to date.
Notice the guy has a Bronco so he has something that works when the GM goes down
Being a band new EV, I think it's going to be relatively common to see some issues as these electric vehicles get sorted out. It's new technology.
@@michaelmurray7199We've owned about 30 Ford's and they've all been very reliable except from 2 in the 80s. Love our explorer and maverick hybrid.

People need to stop buying cars just to impress others.
Yeah cause if you have Kia it does the same thing as a Hummer get to point A&B

You would think Mr. helpful would move the other vehicles so you can more safely move his 9000 pounds of regret. You were very polite and very professional and did a great job. That guy is real lucky that you are the one who came out. I do find it funny that these E.V. owners dont disconnect the batteries and try to reboot like you would a computer. Most of the problems are software related.
The amount of care that you put into towing this vehicle was admirable. Great work 😁
Imagine spending all that money on something and it just shits itself. How frustrating. Edit: Your man has a modern Land Rover too. I see he likes to live dangerously.
GM has excellent marketing. In 2017 the Chevrolet Bolt was named Motor Trend Car of the year…. Let that sink in… 🔥
Yeah, isn't that the one that GM recommended that owners NOT park it in their garage??
Chevy had to issue two recalls for the Bolts in recent years over concerns that battery issues could cause the cars to catch fire. Bolt owners were advised to park their vehicles outdoors once the battery was charged.Jul 27, 2023
@@TheFrenchPugI own a Bolt since February 2023. There is no recommendation to park it outside. Car works like a charm. No issues.
My Lyric can not be lifted with out a lot of planning. Forget about taking it anywhere but dealer for tire service.
Homeboy has a $25,000.00 built in refrigerator in his garage that is twice the size of most fridges in the average home!!! Nicely done!!!
Do you really need a $25,000 refrigerator? Perhaps you are storing all those coke.
Three times the size easily. That is commercial grade hardware.
Lol I think he put that fridge in his taxes as a write off for his off shore restaurant
An entire stable of poor decisions. A Tata-era Defender, notorious for dealer buy-backs. A new Ford Bronco, showing Ford still can't build an engine with turbos that lasts. A Bentley convertible, you only need to ask Hoovie about how those go for reliability and maintenance. And, lastly, a first-gen Hummer EV, the car where apparently GM didn't think their Bolt fires were large enough. It just goes to show, money can't buy sense.
Of those cars, the Bentley might actually be the most reliable.
That guy has the most fancy toys I've every seen! I agree with @dlsimes, he could have at least moved the other fancy vehicles in the driveway to give you more room to navigate. Another professional job!
Thank You!
He had plenty of room, if it was an issue I’m sure he would have asked the gentleman.
Fancy junk..That Land Rover will need a tow soon.
Do that just in case something did happen. Make it easier to hook up sure but at least minimize risk to everything. Don't understand how he doesn't see that.
Picking up the floor jack and moving it to the garage instead of dragging it across the driveway is a first class move!!! Care and attention to details and care of property is absoulte first rate!!!👍👍👍
Thank You!
Not only that the jack was a little light for the job of lifting that $100k+ POS.
Yeah, they got stamped concrete. This guy is pretty rich.
TFL Car channel had the same issue with their EV Hummer a year ago. They had to jump through ridiculous hoops to disengage the parking brake mode, like open and close the driver window, open and close the passenger window, double-click this button, keep the brake pedal depressed for 20 seconds, etc. What a joke!
The range of the hummer EV is 381 miles. So the owner got 62% of what his money worth minus depreciation. 😂😂😂😂😂
Right! In the case of GM the range is the total expected life of the vehicle! 🤦🏼♂️
hahaha! That comment was epic! Really put it in perspective... hahah!
I still have a 2002 gmc sonoma and my wife still has her 1999 ford ranger both trucks in great condition 100 to 200k miles. I cant believe 238 miles with tons of money spent on a toy car. My wifes word not mine. I am speechless
New vehiclesafter about 2013 are not worth it no more ..this is when most manufacturers were coming out with new models and adding way more electronic features that will fail…anyone that buys a new car nowadays is crazy..
Money can't buy brains!!
They need to make a federal law for electric vehicles that there must be a way to put it in neutral in case of something like this happening
You can put them in neutral if the 12v dies. For the Hummer, under the dash by your left foot, is a cable you pull. That pops the hood. Jump the 12v battery and you can put the car in neutral.
When I say, in neutral, that means no matter what the situation, whether it be a dead battery or codes being thrown all over the place
IF its a full electric it was most likely well over $150k (Guessing) and brand new and won't move under its own "power"......wow!!
There is no hybrid GMC Hummer. They are all 100% "EV."
You're such a guesser, keep guessing!

That Hummer cost $23,000 to make and get it to the dealer and sell it to him…15% depreciation when he left the dealer and a 15 to 20% depreciation a year…smart guy…smart enough NOT to move all the cars out way so the man can work
Man.. we're seeing a trend here. This is the second one of these on this channel alone. TFL had their Hummer fail right after purchase as well.
Third, I think. In a recent video where he towed a Cadillac EV, he mentioned in the comments that he tows dead EVs all the time.
Third Hummer, but I’ve done many other EV’s.
A friend bought a new Hummer EV. The fisrt week he owned it, the computer crashed in the middle of a busy intersection and it couldn't be put in N so the wheels would roll.
He's afraid to take it off road, if it crashes where a flatbed can't go, it would have to be airlifted. Seriously.
Typical GM quality. Hasn’t been good since about ’04 🙄 🤦🏻♂️
It hasn't been good since 1974.
Nice job again handling that big expense toy! Sounds like you could use some other special equipment for towing these EV’s as well. You know as more and more hit the road you are going to be getting more calls for towing them. Thanks for sharing this interesting tow!
More like an ugly expensive paperweight.
No, he won't. Blame this on the driver, not the vehicle. You people are so dumb
At least it makes lots of happy sounds to let the owner know it ain't goin' nowhere.
Another thing I will say about these EV'S the engineers should put in a Feature that, when they do break down ,there needs to be a neutral feature in the motors that you can put them into so vehicles can roll Is freely for towing purposes !!
TOW MODE should be the DEFAULT mode!!!!
You can put them in neutral if the 12v dies. For the Hummer, under the dash by your left foot, is a cable you pull. That pops the hood. Jump the 12v battery and you can put the car in neutral.
It isn't just GM EVs, my neighbor's 100K plus Audi spent most of its two months on the hook. His response was good riddance!
Wow! I notice that this guy had several ICE vehicles for backup there and of course a nice charge plug as well. Yep if you wanna own EV you better have a backup plan. Sure even more show off toys its not like they're actually USING these things for anything useful.
Can you imagine that. EV's are supposed to save the planet but you need gas powered vehicles because they always need to be towed.

More money than brains, sometimes they can be fun to deal with you have to treat everything like it's priceless, even then they can call and complain saying you damaged something or didn't know what you were doing. Not all of them but all it takes is one and a personal lawyer they have on retainer.
Great job!! I've learned so much from your channel. Thanks for educating us and being so considerate of the customers property.
Thank You!
dang he's got some money sitting in that driveway
Great channel - just wanted to make a point - these full-electric vehicles are really heavy, which will have an effect on the life of your hydraulics and the tires on the flatbed truck. Your maintenance costs should go up a little bit, so just be prepared for all of this coming down the pike with all of these super heavy vehicles.
Thank You!
They pay pretty well, so it makes up for it for the extra expenses incurred.
Nice job stay safe out there
My goodness Dustan you do know my thoughts on ev's. Say no more. But a set of those dolly skates would be great to see in action. Especially now there are more ev's being purchased. It is going to take years before they get all glitches under control. Nice work and I can tell you are quite happy today. Stay safe see you on the next one 😊
Thank You!
He's brave parking an EV in his garage.
There is no such thing as a safe and reliable EV.
GM vehicles never catches on fire now because they use somebody else’s batteries!😊
I've parked EV's in my garage since 2017, not a single issue.
Most EV fires are not due to the vehicle teaching on fire but due to poorly installed electrical for the chargers. Too many do it yourselfers burn their houses down. I've had four years between two tesla's garage kept.
It's amazing how stupid people are. Read an article that was paid for by an oil company because oil companies are scared sh**tless about what's coming for them soon, they make articles to try and freak people out. This world is so f'd up. Lol
Parked my EV in my garage for 11 years. No issues. Facts show ICE catches fire 80x more often than EVs.
GM not having very good luck with EV's. I've seen they have a stop sale on the Blazer because it's having all sort of problems they can't figure out. Seems like they're trying to get to market when their tech isn't ready yet Very bad. I'll never be buying an EV.
This is the most impressive tow I've ever seen! Nice work, Dustin!
Thank You!
Working for an EV company I’ve learned that it’s most of the time 12 Volt Battery, the dealership didn’t put the vehicle on a battery tender or sometimes to reset the vehicle to make the car put into gear; so remove the negative battery terminal, if the battery jumper doesn’t work, and or remove one of the 60 Amp or 40 amp fuse after like five minutes of removing the negative terminal from the battery wait 10 minutes and then put the fuse back in, this will reset the vehicle OS and should resolve it, most of the time it’s not the large battery it’s always the 12 volt battery that takes a 💩 or very low battery as shown in this video the battery was at 11.3
Yeah I’m not doing all that lol risk them coming back with a hefty damage claim.
Better still buy a petrol or diesel vehicle for simplicity and reliability.
Remove the Riley block then disconnect the Alladin switch. Take the positive from the Belltower device and connect it to the Zen connection. Reverse the Oblagatom valve to negative pressure and bleed the Fandango to .75 meters positive. Flip the Cosmos relay but avoid touching the Sommers relay. The vehicle should be ready to move.
The guy didn't even have a plate on it yet. It hadn't gone through 1 charge worth of miles yet. These things are like $100k.
Wow! I am amazed how you got your tow truck in position and getting the Hummer EV on the tow truck. Great job!
Dustin - you done a good job on that Electric Hummer.
Well done from Doug in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Thank You!
Scotland, wow!
I remember my dad, who was a mechanic, complaining in the late 70s about the “new” cars with computers that stopped working. So maybe just like computers, EVs will get more reliable too. Now we don’t even think about all the computers that could go bad.
I'm always worried about them. Lol
The technology has plenty of room for improvement, and I’m sure will eventually catch up. Our infrastructure is another issue however.
GM is certainly not the first EV maker that I would try. I don't think I can afford a Tesla, but people who don't need long range seem fairly happy with them. I new some folks who had Chevy Volts, didn't keep them very long. Chevy Bolt, I see on the 'net, seems to have the worst reputation of all EVs. If I could afford a Hummer, I could afford a Tesla, and would. I see folks who do get Teslas seem to keep them. I know one travelling salesman who was offered a BMW company car to make sales calls. He showed his company how a Tesla would be cheaper, and had planned his route so that he could charge up while he was in his customer's offices. He has been doing his long distance sales calls with no problems (about twice the Tesla's expected range on one charge).
I know little about EVs. These are real questions. Is a little jump pack like that supposed to help an EV in any way? Did the owner charge the EV after 238 miles?
@@sleepydog223 Generally, accessories such as the lights, radio, and computers in an EV or a hybrid are 12 volt, just like other cars. The drive motors are higher voltage, but won't run without the 12 volt battery and computer, so jumping with a 12 volt pack can make a difference. During normal operation, it's easy to pick of 13 to 15 volts to charge the 12 volt battery.
For example, my Prius drivetrain uses a 750 volt battery and has a 12 volt battery for the accessories. After several years of use, the 12 volt battery finally gave out just like other cars. I used the 12 volt system in my Subaru to jump my Prius. With the 12 volt jump, the engine computer was able to start the gas engine, (it's engine is started by one of the 750 volt motors). As long as the car was turned on, the charging system provided both 12 volt and 750 volt power. Replacing the 12 volt battery was a piece of cake.
Poor guy, I guess he'll have to drive one of the other 3 vehicles. I hope he can find a way to keep his head up during these troubled times. 😢
I guess pruis is the OG of EVs. All these videos have deeply inspired me to stick to good ol gas..
The Prius is a hybrid, which is gas and electric. The gas motor charges the battery pack.
@@ervingoss5442 I guess that still makes it part pain in the ass. But I've never seen him tow one yet. But still I wouldn't own any form of electric car,Hybrid or not because you'll still encounter the SOME of same problems that electric ones do.
I have a Prius, know lots of other people that do, and they've all been trouble free for many years.
@@tractorsold1 that's exactly the point I was trying to make, until I was corrected that they weren't total electric. But regardless the Prius doesn't have the issues the others do. I'm glad to hear your Prius is going strong. And I hope it stays that way for you sir.

When I worked for a major car rental company (think Orange), we had a brand new Oldsmobile with engine problems. Under 50 miles and it had major clattering sounds. It didn't even make it through PMI yet. I don't know if it was a factory issue, or something happened in transport. Car went away and I'm guessing we got a new one to replace it.
