Hi Jill thanks for the tip .I always turn my granny squares it does help to keep them square.i don't chain in between either .I thinkmi am addicted to granny squares.💝💝💝
@@deborahm4484 haaaaa, I love it 😂👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 great job and I’m keen to don more of them too 💖💖
Oh my goodness had to come back and let you know. I am making book covers for my book club members for Chrissy. What a difference alternating each row such a difference thank you learning so much from you 👏👏👏
@@cathylovelock8561 Cathy that is wonderful news, fantastic 💖💖
OMG! I've been doing my MR like you do, for years! Its nice to see that someone else has caught on to a more sturdy center start. Yes, its a lil more fiddly but its more secure than the single strand MR.
@@deeturner7845 yay 😁😁😁 it’s always nice finding someone else that does things the same way. I had made a cotton blanket back in the beginning with a single strand and some had popped undone, so figured that even with sewing the yarn end in was not good enough. I think it’s worth the small extra effort too 😁😁😁
I have never tried starting each row with 2 stacked SC. Will definately try it next time I do a grannysquare. Thank you
@@sonjamarshall4775 try it out and see if u prefer it 😁😁
Is because when you do double crochet you are pulling towards the right, so when you turn your work you going the opposite way making the crochet square straight.
@@rileyfs1959 that’s right, I knew there was a technical reason, I just couldn’t remember it nor find it by googling, thanks so much 😁👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for your tips Jill, I’ve never thought of turning the work. 🫶 Not that I’ve made too many granny squares. I always use a double MR though for my projects.
Glad I could help a little bit Ruth 😁😁🍃🍃
