'So Fine' is just one more great example of ELO being not only a great 'Hits' band, but possibly one of the greatest 'Deep Cuts' bands of all time. I will recommend again, 'Fire On High'.
Great description of ELO. So many great tunes that are not "hits." Wild West Hero. Strange Magic. Midnight Blue. Horace Wimp. Shangri-La. Mission. Jungle. And on and on.
Hi Josh. You may want to consider ELO’s first American Top 1O hit, the dreamy “Can’t Get It Out Of My Head” and attached short intro “Eldorado Overture” that starts their breakthrough Eldorado album. It was the first time Jeff implemented a 30 piece orchestra and 20 member choir that established their classic sound.
My favorite band Josh!! Elo is so fine!! Just listen to the blend of voices and those strings! You can actually dance to this hot gem!! No one better. I'll say it again. They will be forever So Fine. Keep the Elo reactions coming !! Music geniuses! 🎶🎧
I am huge ELO fan and I never get tired of this song! Jeff Lynne is a genius.Incredible vocalist, guitarist, lyricist and producer. What I really like about ELO and what sets them apart from other bands is they always have that vocal hook along with the great music!
Yeah Josh you're just starting scratch the surface of the material of ELO you gotta do Wild West Hero from the Out of the Blue album the harmonies between Jeff and Kelly Groucutt the Bassist of the group is amazing Kelly never gets enough credit for being a great vocalist and bass player for the group you on the right path my friend Thank you from the BIGGEST ELO FAN and your biggest fan
I love your ELO enthusiasm Josh. I don't think you've reacted yet to 'Across The Border', or 'Ma-Ma-Ma-Belle'. There are also loads more to choose from, where you can't go wrong!
For Anyone Who Hasn't Heard It Yet,, I Have Some Bad News,, Dusty Hill Bassist For ZZTOP Passed Away Today At 72 Years Old..R.I.P. Dusty..Thanks For All You Gave Us. 🙏 ❤
'Across the Border'!.. now there is a deep cut from 'Out of the blue'... no one has reacted to this yet.. (As far as I know!) Josh.. you would go nuts for this one!! 🤣 you must add it to your (long) list of ELO tracks to listen to
Yes, 'Do Ya' ... A great track by them!! Also, 'Turn to Stone' & 'Livin' Thing'. You'll love this. .... Or 'Wishing', 'Need Her Love' or 'Midnight Blue'....or if you're up for a bit of fun, you really should try 'Wild West Hero'. Such another great track.
ELO is such a great group. The Beatles said that if they had stayed together, they would have probably wound up sounding like them. What a compliment, right? Dude, you need to react to some more BOSTON! Like "More Than A Feeling" or "Foreplay/Long Time." You do know that these songs are off their debut album, which was the highest-selling debut album of all-time, right?
It's good to see someone reviewing one of the more obscure songs off that album. I vaguely recall being thrown by the sudden change in musical style in the middle of the song, when I first listened to the vinyl back in 1976-1977. I like the fast pace of it as well. A unique ELO song IMO and very different from the rest of the album.
A New World Record has always been my favorite ELO album. I love most ELO music, but this album always stood out as extra special. Every song on the album is a Lynne masterpiece. So Fine is just such a catchy tune, it's hard not to start moving once this bad boy starts playing! This was without a doubt, THE HEIGHT of ELO's musical genius! There is also no doubt that ELO will be listened to by many people, long long after we are all gone.
Hello my young friend and fellow ELO fan! I agree with the suggestion of reacting to "Across The Border" from "Out of the Blue". It's an epic tune with an ultra catchy melody, the wonderful strings and a Mariachi trumpet band. I am certain that it will further your appreciation of Jeff and the band. I wish you joy and shalom everyday! Your reactions give your viewers and subscribers much to be thankful for!
Try Eldorado overture with Can't Get It Out of My Head. Eldorado Also Fire on High. Livin thing Do ya Rockaria Nobody's child Evil woman Kuiama Wild West Hero The whole Time Album Theres a few to be going on with!
Not really “underrated”, but a deep album track. The song was played, sometimes with the attached Livin’ Thing, on FM Album Oriented Rock stations when New World Record was released.
Jeff has stated that the music / melody always comes first and he basically has to force himself to write lyrics and would much prefer to create instrumentals.
😂😂😂 So funny, thanks and yes a feel good romp that, incredibly, phases directly into Livin’ Thing on the album. Jaw dropping sonic wonder from Hogwart’s finest 😊
Jposh, I'm surprised no one has mentioned to you ELO's song, "Night in the City" off OUT OF THE BLUE!!! My goodness! That and "Big Wheels" are my two all-time favorite songs by the band. Gotta listen to "Night in the City." Actually the entire album, much of which you have heard, is, to me, ELO at it's very best. But, yes, check out "Night in the City." And "It's Over," if you get the chance.
Oh man! What a coincidence! I was listening to A New World Record earlier today and was going to comment on a previous video to recommend the track before this - Mission (A World Record). It's got a great groove which I think you'll love!!!!!!
Yes - that's a haunting song. I like how that song builds, especially Jeff Lynne's voice when he really goes for it in the last verse. I'd highly recommend it as a good listen too.
'Do Ya', 'Midnight Blue', 'Wishing'. 'Need Her Love'... Oh and 'Wild West Hero', what a great fun track. You have so so many more to be amazed by! Have some great listening!
A great reaction Josh to a superb but little known (outside of the E.L.O crowd) E.L.O mood raising album track that has all of the E L.O trademark bits and pieces. For something very different, have a listen to the excellent "Time" album from the 80s that still contains many of those E.L.O trademark sounds...."Secret Messages" also. Both of these albums are growers and get better and better with every listen but do split ardent E.L.O enthusiasts due to the evolution of the E.L.O sound 😊
Ohh Across the Border from Out of the Blue and Believe me Now which fades into Stepping Out. You just cut off So Fine as it fades into Livin’Thing. Like I’ve said these songs all flow together but can stand alone.
I don't think that anyone has suggested Stepping Out from Out of the Blue. I think that is a beautiful song. Moving on to the Time album, equally as beautiful, but without strings, is 21st Century Man. The Time album is epic, though by this point in the ELO journey Jeff has put the strings aside. There are many more that I could suggest but let's stick with them for now.
Sweet Is The Night - ELO
A New World Record, start to finish is FABULOUS!
Along with Eldorado, my fav ELO album
I can still remember where l was, when l first listened to ELO's A New World Record. An amazing album.
'So Fine' is just one more great example of ELO being not only a great 'Hits' band, but possibly one of the greatest 'Deep Cuts' bands of all time. I will recommend again, 'Fire On High'.

They are up there with the beatles and the stones... My dad has played me their records since childhood
@@glidernyc Shangri-La, Concerto for a Rainy Day, Mission (A World Record), Confusion, Across the Border...
How Epic are ELO. Stoked you a fan
A new World Record is a GREAT recording.
I don't think ELO produced any dud recordings.
Probably the most overlooked track on the "A New World Record" album is "Above the Clouds", it is short but sweet.
It merged straight into "Livin' Thing" on the album, fantastic transition.
100 Percent!
"Feel good" I think is exactly what this song is. I almost cried watching you react to this. 😉 Thank you for this one; loved your reaction!

It’s a great song. And awesome album
So glad you've reacted to 'So fine'. A real undiscovered gem. 'Agree with previous poster, 'Fire On high' should be high on your list.
The harmonies are the outstanding aspect of ELO. Kelly Groucutt matched Jeff’s voice perfectly.
And Kelly sang a lot of the high stuff on the early recordings and on stage
For Sure. & The Bass Playing is off chops. Lit. 😃🎄🌌
Waiting for Do ya! :-)
Yes, that's yet another really fun, rockin', impossible-to-resist tunes!
So Fine 😊

The ending to Across The Border is brilliant.

😞😭
From the same album the very short but sweet "Above the Clouds". Won't be a long video but lovely all the same!
ELO and Jeff Lynne are so darn good!
Fabulous Josh, when you can "Across The Border" from the album Out Of The Blue next.
Love that song too. Unique and catchy.
Across the border is a must Josh, a very underrated song from out of the blue 😉😉
'Across the Border'!.. now there is a deep cut from 'Out of the blue'... no one has reacted to this yet.. (As far as I know!) Josh.. you would go nuts for this one!! 🤣 you must add it to your (long) list of ELO tracks to listen to
I played "A New World Record" so many times I went thru a hundred needles on my turntable❤
Yes, 'Do Ya' ... A great track by them!!

John Lennon himself referred to ELO as "Son of Beatles"

I've been telling RUclips reactors for years that they should do this song, and finally someone did.
A New World Record has always been my favorite ELO album. I love most ELO music, but this album always stood out as extra special. Every song on the album is a Lynne masterpiece. I remember back when they played this song and living thing back to back on radio

Fantastic song!! I forgot how many beatyful songs does ELO have :-) Regards from Chile!
Josh, love your reactions! Keep it up!! Further down the elo rabbit hole. I mean your the only reactor who has done "Concerto for a rainy day".
Check out Sight After Dark's channel, they also reacted to the whole suite.
@@poluxsaurus1454 i will! Ty
@@poluxsaurus1454 Josh was first!
Mik Kaminski shines on this song
If you haven’t done “Twilight” then you absolutely should.
Jeff has stated that the music / melody always comes first and he basically has to force himself to write lyrics and would much prefer to create instrumentals.
Great review ! Put a big smile on my face thanks
“Confusion” is a classic from them
yeah its a little gem on nwr. so uplifting, 1 of my fav albums frm elo.
ELO are awesome... Up there with the beatles and the stones

Diary of Horace Wimpy is a fabulous song also and different from a lot of the other stuff.
It’s my favorite song. Finally Jeff is coming to others
Years before “So Fine”. Jeff Lynn had a fun song called Greenwood. It’s about Robin Hood! Enjoy!
The best Bass riff ever!
'Do Ya', 'Midnight Blue', 'Wishing'. 'Need Her Love'... Oh and 'Wild West Hero', what a great fun track. You have so so many more to be amazed by! Have some great listening!

Criminally underrated
I will recommend again Confusion, and Xanadu (feat Olivia Newton-John on lead vocals)
Next, the deepest cuts of all: Please! "Diary of Horace Wimp" and "Jungle".
Horace was a charting single. Down Home Town is a real deep cut.
I just learned bev bevan the drummer does the tarzan voice on jungle...and yes down home town is a great deep cut from face the music
Jungle is out there. A real odessey of percussion, but still distinctly ELO. Love it. Certainly worth a reaction.
Just a suggestion....You should roll off the low end of your mic feed. It's way too bass-y.
My e loved this song.
Superb number ,
Music critics: "You can't mix Classic Orchestra with Rock" Jeff Lynne: "Hold my beer!"

When can you react to Nobodys child- Eldorado or Wishing- Discovery ELO?
"Nobody's Child" is a fun, hard-to-resist tune! Love it!
Also REALLY LOVE "Boy Blue" from the same album!
