Haha, I can't take credit for it, but as long as people don't think I'm Wes Anderson, I'm good.

So funny isn't it. I did the typical thing, skimming along the video to see what the actual footage looks like. Got to the the clips around 00:50 and was like 'YES! Finally I've found my camera. Where do I click to buy?' then actually listened to the context of those clips and realised, 'oh that's an Alexa classic' --- FML. It may feel irrelevant, but I would LOVE to see the Kinefinity vs Alexa classic just for pure image quality.

It's a good camera and you wouldn't be disappointed if it was your camera for the next 3 or 4 years in my opinion.

Nice images, very filmic. Thanks for sharing. I see so much similarities with the ZCam F6 which I have shot with a lot and I like the flexibility. I would love to see an image comparison between the Zcam F6 and this camera.

I haven't shot on a Zcam before, but Ive heard good things about it. I will have to check that out at some point

The Z Cam F6 shoots in 6K full frame, but you can shoot the whole sensor with 4K or 1080.

It can do 4K S35, or 4K full frame... Everyone forgets about Z Cam.

I've never used one, but that sounds like an interesting option, I will have to test one out in the future.

@@redbeardproductions-kevind9806i had an f6 . I liked it. The menu needed work and the ND system was not good there was no clear. If you had it on and didn’t need it you had to take out out. And put in a clear. That was annoying.
I just got the Mavo edge 6k. We will see how this goes

I’ve been looking at 4 possible cameras for a similar price range in Australia, this Kinefinity, Komodo, Ursa mini 12k/4.6k and FX6. It’s hard to decide cause each camera offers something that the other doesn’t. Komodo has the global shutter, Ursa mini has internal ND and designed as more run and gun single operator use similar to FX6. This camera has 2 SDI ports, the flexibility of lens mounts.
I’m curious about the low light noise when shooting in the dual native ISO of 5120, such as how usable is it shooting at that sensitivity with street lights. Also how is the rolling shutter of this camera compared to some others. Lastly I heard that when switching memory cards, you need to turn the camera off for it to be recognised. Is that still a thing or has that had a firmware update to change that?

So sadly I didn't get a chance to low light at night, but in the indoor scenarios I used where I needed to push the iso up to around 2000, it still looked clean. The rolling shutter to my eye was worse than say a fx6 (but the fx6 is incredibly good), and handheld was a tad more jelloy, but still very useable, and I wasn't using an Easyrig (which would have helped).
Regarding the camera recognising the card, because I was shooting 4K 4444 or 422 HQ , I didn't fill up a card for the entire day of shooting, so I didn't have a reason to take the card out and back up footage during the shoot, so I didn't notice this issue.
I'm in the same boat regarding my next camera purchase for my company and for me it's down between this and the FX6, FX6 is more usable, but I just felt like when I was shooting on this I was making a "movie" I know that's not super technical, but it was the emotion I felt when using it. Great options for filmmakers for sure. But buy/use what you enjoy as you can't go wrong with any of those choices.
