test the Kinefinity Mavo LF Mark 2 and compare its footage with that of the Red Komodo. In this affordable box cinema camera comparison, let us know what image you prefer.

That is why we love Arri, whether the subject is black or white, the skin tone will be gorgeous. Kinefinity won the set🙃

It’s not possible to judge accurately because the variations in the grades don’t match.
Thanks for posting this. It's great to see the new Mavo line against the flagship stuff.
I will say sliding your HL from 5.0 to 6.0 will make a huge difference in the roll off on those windows. The Mavo has a softer clip than the Komodo for sure when doing this, but at 5.0 it's rather hard.
Thanks matey. Yes I wanted to check out the HL priority/dynamic range shifting, but I didn't get a chance to. It's a cool feature and something I want to dive into next time I use it.

Both really lovely and the raw output of Komodo is realllly easy to match anything so that’s awesome. So great to have options. It would be a funny comparison to post a grade match to kill the arri bias in Resolve that is fed directly using the footage this way.
That kinefinity EVF is so cool; wish there was something like that from RED for the Komodo.
I feel like the infinity would be fantastic for horror films or suspense films. thoughts?

Komodo looks more washed out for some reason. The Mavo image pops more but looks a bit less saturated and the roll off looked bad. Was it different lenses?

I like the more natural colors of the Kinefinity over the Red. The Red tends to have a green cast. Kinefinity for the win.
That prores 444 is damn near raw. I would say the Navi wins. Cleaner look and the fact that it’s pretty much an Arri image if u apply there luts is what sells it. Like there’s no difference in color when it comes to that and the Alexa after u convert it.
My only issue with 4444 is the amount of data it uses, it really would have been ideal to have a compressed raw option (with they wanted to include in the Edge models) but due to a Red patent they couldn't. But yes I like the way Alexa LUTs look on the Kinefinity

@@bmefilms6879 dawg go look at the color comparisons. This is the closest to match the Alexa. I’m not talking DR or highlight roll off. The colors are the same. Kinefinity aren’t getting enough praise for the color coming out of this camera. It’s slept on which makes sense, they’re not a big popular company yet. we don’t need Arri to get Arri
The Komodo got it beat with the colors. But the Mavo is a heck of a camera. Too bad it doesn’t have raw. But the Mavo seems to be more flexible with more frame rates and aspect ratios. And ofcourse full frame
for me is hard, some shot love Kinefinity, and others komodo
I have to say, I prefer what the Komodo is doing with skin tones, just pops, magic
Fair enough bud. I think the image on both cameras look great, I think it's great that we have options at this price range now. And it's even better that it becomes about taste, putting the artistic eye back into the process imo.
Mavo LF has the better overall image! Has more of an Arri look.

The Komodo does pop for sure, and to my eyes had slightly better dynamic range on this test. But I really like the look of both cameras
Naah, Arri colors are just better here, komodo seems to go into green a little more. Seems you have a brand bias.

I like the Mavo colours better and the info in the shadows. I’m surprised! What a nice image from both but in a blind test, I’d say Mavo looks like ARRI.
movo color science is better than red especially dar red.. komodo red looks yello orangie
Red Komodo is better, all the muppets state mavo lf.
