In this video, we show you how to find USGS lidar data online using the Equator platform. In addition to viewing the point cloud, we also show you how to generate a 3D surface and contours from the lidar in Equator, as well as extract elevation data into a CAD drawing format (DXF).

Hello ... I'm in Ecuador, and I keep getting messages that the selected area is outside of the bounds of the topographic data ser .. is there anything I can do or try ?
Once you open the data menu you will be able to add our 'Global LiDAR Availability' layer which will show you where we have high-quality LiDAR available.
So I went to the website they no longer have the TOPOGRAPHY tab do I have to upgrade to premium version for that?
Hi Kazer, We recently updated the user interface to make it easier to use. LiDAR data is only available in the US, parts of Canada, and New Zealand. You can test it out, to see if it covers your area. This video should help: ruclips.net/video/USpCpwSPbp8/видео.html
Hello Equator. This is what I was looking for. I am an architect and I want to create something similar for a real estate development in India. I wanted to ask some specifications for LIDAR data (data type custom collected) I had some technical questions. Can I get in touch with someone ?

The data in Equator varies based on the providers we get the data from.

Yes, you can visualize underwater using LiDAR data. It is called Bathymetric LiDAR. However, at this time, Equator does not host any bathymetric data.

Currently, we only have JAXA data available for Kenya, which has a 30m resolution.

Currently, we host JAXA data for Japan, which has a 30m resolution. Unfortunately at this time, we don't have anything at a finer resolution.

Hi there! You can find everything from the Topography menu in the Data tab now!
March 2022 this is not what the website looks like nor is it how it performs... I have a 1 Gig download speed and just moving around in the basic map once the site is open is near impossible....
Hi Brad, sorry to hear you're having trouble. Download speeds shouldn't affect performance, though Equator can sometimes put a strain on your graphics card. One of the tricks we've found work is to turn on hardware acceleration in Chrome, you can follow the steps here: www.howtogeek.com/412738/how-to-turn-hardware-acceleration-on-and-off-in-chrome/

This data is available only for h North America only.. Not for all part of world.
Hi Ritica. We rely on open data made available by cities, countries and public organizations around the world - as more people embrace open data, we hope to make more of it available with Equator.
